Not needing to take any hints she nodded her head in return and turned and began to walk at a brisk marching pace; slowing down on momentary here and there to suspisious looking spots her mother warned her about but would quickly resume her pace once she was sure the threat was nill.
Coming upon a loose gravel hill the Spartan took little heed to jumping and sliding down the entirety of the slope till she reached the bottom. Wasting no time to look back since she was positive he would keep up if he could take on covenant; she pushed aside two bushes and came upon what she'd been aiming for; the path. "Not long now!" She called, the small smoke plume rising into the distant skies from the fireplaces showing they were indeed not far off from the shop.
Even from this distance there were many foxes lingering and socializing in the woods and having a good time in the clearings up ahead; the livelihood of the area picking up dramatically as it was indeed the epicenter of social life in the area.

Dutch trudged through the wilderness with great difficulty. Granted he was a big guy, but Spartans were bigger. She walked through dense foliage that she could plow through, but he had to climb around, over or through, often getting caught in the branches. The gravel hill to her was more of a slope of 85 degrees, but he still tried to slide down, which turned into a tumble. Granted he wasn't ever the most graceful creature around, but he was study and stock. He could take a beating and give one right back. So throughout his turmoil of keeping up, he didn't say a word or even mentally complain. He just did what he could, but he was still relieved that they were finally on a trail.
He stepped foot on what he thought would be just a smooth trail, but no..things could never be simple. There were plenty of potholes around that he had to watch. He hadn't noticed at all the foxes around him and the strange looks he was getting, he was far more concerned with breaking an ankle

Like a veteran of the trails (since she very well could have been coming back and forth to the shop with her mother) she didn't need to look down to know where the potholes were to step over them with her long legs. Her eyes lingered on the happy foxes out and about on the nice day; but with a huff of her breath she kept on going. Reaching the noddle shop she opened the door and headed inside, stretching out her back before she waited for Dutch to follow her inside.
"Well....this is it. The phone is on the wall over there, and there's computers just in the room across the way to the left. The kitchen is through those double doors; the staff is off for the afternoon so i'll be in there if you need anything. Word of the wise; don't touch or eat any noodle bowls; just trust me on this one." She cleared her throat and chuckled a bit sheepishly, turning tail and escaping back into the kitchen to start baking.

As he walked in, he glanced around, mystified that this exists with a bunch of foxes running around. Before he could say anything, he looked back and saw the female Spartan had all but vanished. "Damn..no wonder they were called bogey men" he remarked with his usual gruff voice. He looked around. Knowing the phone would do him no good if his communicator couldn't, he looked to the computers, but then he really didn't know what he would be looking for. He knew about black holes and how they were big space anomalies.
At a bit of a loss he walked over to a couch and sat on it trying to figure out what to do. He couldn't contact anyone. The computers would do no good. And if the only person around staff wise was the one he had just arrived with, then who would he ask? He sat there with his elbows resting on his thighs and his helmet resting on his paws which were folded. He was very lost..something he was not used to

Luckily for her height she had no problem reaching everything and anything around the kitchen, taking one of the bowls and tossing all of the ingredients into it one by one. She knew this recipe off by heart, and it didn't take her long at all till she formed the small cookies and put them on the sheet. Popping them into the oven she set it for about fifteen minutes, grabbing a few cookies from a jar and headed out into the commons once more.
Looking around she wondered where the fellow was from before, not seeing him at the phone but ended up spotting him sitting on one of the couches looking like the sore thumb in a room of chatter and fun. Swiftly rounding the room she bowed her torso down to lean against the back of the couch, watching his helmet for signs of life. "I take it things haven't improved, since you're looking like you're ready to turn emo on me with a pose like that....cookie?" A grin crossed her paw as she held out the chocolate chip cookie, taking a bite of her's with her other paw.

The ODST wanted to rub his eyes or run his fingers through his hair as it was often a habit he was accused of when stressed or extremely frustrated. God I need something to shoot he thought as his hand bounced off his visor in an attempt to do such a habit. He had forgotten it was there.
Then he heard that familiar voice and his first thoughts were..What timing...something to shoot.
He glanced over his shoulder, surprised that he was being offered a cookie, but the gesture was not appreciated. Still he calmly put a paw up in refusal. "I'm not hungry" he said flatly. It was true. Ever since he had woken up he had been far from hungry and his strict military training forced his instinct to turn away food if he wasn't hungry..despite how he knew it was delicious.
"I don't think I have the hair to be emo." he said turning back, this time taking off his helmet and proceeding with one of his habits. It was funny. Everyone always wondered why he was able to keep his hair so spiky despite the helmet. Had they known of his habits, they would know the secret

"Suit yourself..." Nariko replied, tucking the cookie into a compartment for later snacking since she still wasn't done her current cookie. Raising a brow as she leaned her elbows on the back of the couch; she inspected him while he removed his helmet. She could guess that he was older than she, yet it was hard to gage since well one would never guess her father's age....not even her mother had.
"I dunno, a little black dye up there and around your eyes would go a long way. You could even paint little black hearts on your armor..." The vixen chuckled, already could see the amusing image in her head; ears flicking around to pick up on the different conversations.
"So whatcha going to do Mr. soldier....stick around here I guess?" However, she blinked as he ran his hand through his hair; instantly reminded of her father. Or maybe this was just a male thing...

He turned and glared one of his looks of death that normally would be a promise. But for a strange reason that was beyond him, he didn't follow through. "You and your god damn sense of humor " he growled as he stood on two legs, obviously not aware he was doing so.
"Listen lady..I don;t know what the f**k your problem is, but..." he stopped and sighed...even his very fire that he was known for had vanished. This planet was hell...it was turning him..into a...a...a p***y.
He turned again and rubbed the back of his head..ashamed of even thinking such blasphemy. "Sorry...too much s**t happening at once" he finally admitted with a slight blush. He wasn't one for sharing his problems...it always embarrassed him to do so

Flicking her tail with a bit of impish delight, his gaze might have scared others; but she seemed only intruiged. A small part of her knew that it was risky to be poking an unknown force who 'bullied' covenant....but how long had it been since she'd even spent this long with someone who wasn't blood?
Preparing for a shouting match, the femme was rather dissapointed when the fire seemed to be put out; a sigh following shortly after. What the hell? Standing up straight she put her paws on her hips; already feeling the urge to smack him. If there was one thing she just couldn't stand was this whimpy crap, one should try and only top when they've either suceeded or died doing so. Leaping over the couch she twisted to face him with a scowl on her face.
"I don't know what's going on, nor have you even enlightened me on your name you rude a**, but im pretty damn sure that kind of talk is pathetic for someone who claims he bullies covenant. You don't look like a soloist, so its not like you're forced to deal alone - if your team or partner is missing; get a temporary one till you can get through whatever s**t your in...or you better just go find a table and curl up underneith and give up." Folding her ears along her skull she stood her ground, determined and fire blazing in her eyes.
"Hell, i'll help you if it means I don't have to see that emo look again...." Where was that soldier from in the forest...? The one she couldn't help but feel that spark of intruige about the mystery surrounding him.

He watched as she sprang to life and all but bit his face off with her words..unfortunately they meant nothing to him. all the while he just glared at her, taking like he had done back in training as the instructor was all but inches away from the recruits faces screaming at the top of his lungs on how worthless the new guys were. To him..she was just another drill sergeant trying to prove she was better than him and as that pissed him off to no end, he stood and waited for her to finish he seemingly harsh words.
"Ya done? I don't think the entire damn shop heard you there" he said completely unimpressed. He had contemplated on elbow checking her as hard as he possibly could, but he also remembered that there was no need to. His buttons were not pushed just yet.
"FYI..ODSTs are trained alone..and with our team. Don't you think I haven't tried finding them? Take some common sense into your head. A soldier lost in a world he doesn't know about..first thing they always do is contact someone! If my helmet can't get them then what chance is a little phone going to do?" he snarled back. He wasn't so much as angry as he was trying to get her straight. He wasn't trying to play the victim..but he certainly wasn't going to play the bad guy either.
"Oh..and I don't think the shop would be too happy with the long distance phone charge for that call. "He added snidely. He always had a way of adding humor and sarcasm into his words..even if it was unintentional

"Ha, like I give a damn about anyone here hearing..." Well, progress was progress, despite it had to have been the most a** backwards way to get it. Leanding back as she listened, instead of feeling angry or snippy, a wide grin stretched on her maw. "ODST, huh? Well I guess thats a start from Mr. Soldier....Its nice to actually get some conceivable words instead of 'I don't know...'" She did a poor job of immitating his voice from before in the woods; but she knew he'd get the picture.
Tapping her paw on her chin, she rolled her eyes and let out a snarky 'ha ha ha' at his humor before trying to wrack her brain. "Well....my father has a communication system in his pod I believe....mother mentioned he kept trying to contact command when he was abandoned here with his team. Im sure Elysia would be less than pleased about someone using it though....otherwise i've just heard rumors about a spartan run base somewhere; but im not sure if its real or not...." Not that she was helping all too much, but at least it gave him the information if it ever became useful.
"I take it thats why you threw your helmet back there?" She wasn't trying to be sore about her still lingering headache, but tilted her head a bit. "So if the first task of communication doesn't work out, what's next on the list to do?"

He gave a half assed glare. He was beyond sure of what to think anymore. One minute this crazy lady was making smart a** comments, the next she was criticizing his every action. It was unusual and something he wasn't too fond of, but he wasn't in the best of moods to begin with..not like he ever was
"Yes ODST..didn't I say something about it in the forest? Or perhaps someone forgot to tell you 'Hell jumpers' are the term for our division" he sneered. This constant bickering was starting to give him a headache. He was praying that this ache and the one following with the rest of his body was just because he was fatigued.
"Exactly...now.." he left it off not truly knowing still what to do. The pod wouldn't help. They never did. At least in his experience. He paced around for a moment trying to think of something. If only he could figure out what exactly happened in that black hole...an impossible feat. So he tried tracing his steps..outloud as it often helped him.
"Let's see...woke up from cryo...got this s**t on" he looked at his uniform coldly before continuing his train of thought and pacing. "Saw the captain of the ship was sending us to our death. Entered a black hole...woke up on this...planet or dimension or whatever the hell it is." he stopped as he didn't need to go into what happened next..he was aware of that, but if he was here, then where was everyone else. Or was he somehow trans-dimension warped all by himself? Even that couldn't make sense

"As I also think we've been over, yes; I don't know everything, there's only so many manuals around and literature here Mr. Helljumper." Nariko dealt his sneer right back at him, folding her arms over her chest in defiance but listened none the same as he recounted his journey thus far.
That is...untill he mentioned a black hole.
Her taught stance slacked a bit, catching herself before her jaw also gaped open and kept her lips together. "Black hole..? Really? You should be de-........" For once she actually discontinued her train of thought, pretty sure it was obvious that black holes more than less ripped things apart down to the molecule rather than transport; at least from what she read. He must have been one lucky SOB, yet was it the same with his crew? "How far does a your helmet's communications reach?" Even though she figured if they all hadn't been killed; perhaps they were sent somewhere else?

He looked up and saw her reaction had completely changed. Had she lost her mind suddenly? Then he heard her repeat what he said. "Dead..I know. But black holes are strangely unpredictable. We've found that it is possible to survive black holes in proper conditions, but those are rare and we aren't sure why" he explained finally deciding that she couldn't know everything the UNSC taught him when he was just a lad. Still, he had to give her some credit. Most didn't even know what a black hole was.
He stood with his weight on his right foot and crossed his arms, while looking up and tilting his head slightly. "Well. I'd suppose the closest ship with communications relay or another who has the same com channel. But just like every radio they can have interference, so it's hard to say. I've tried contacting the Atlantis earlier and it's crew...I got nothing" he said. He was mostly just pondering outloud again, but he kept his mouth shut to think of other ways

"Mmmn, yes." Nariko pondered, finding herself looking out the window to survey the outside world....it made one wonder how he fell ingo the rare condition while so many other's failed in the past; then again she was no scientist and simply left it as a thought. "Someone must really like you when it comes to fate..."
Turning her body she sat down on the couch; leanding her arms on the back of the couch as she crossed her legs rather daintily by lazy habit of comfort and formality. Oh how her mother would scold her... "Is that the ship your stationed to, Atlantis?" The femme's gut twisted, wondering if it was even wise to pretend it was still around....but who was she to ever dismiss hope? The vixen practically lived each day in the delusion of it. "Think they too got sent somewhere, wait....when did you even come from? Are you sure you haven't gone through time too?" Man, wouldn't that be a kick in the head to not only go through space, possibly another dimension and the possibility of time as well.
