I once played against someone who used Jar of Greed like a continuous trap card. I didn't have the heart or energy to explain how wrong they were :/

I didn't have the heart or energy to explain how wrong they were :/ well see jar of greed doesnt have the continous trap card symbol. as to where i was confused the card said the turn this is activated you can attack your opponent directly. thats where i was confused

I play more magic than this game... Dear god I know you can't attack if you choose to go first, dear god there is no yugioh card with HASTE (can attack the turn is summond, in your case if you go first)!!!
Read the rule book, its not that hard u.u, jesus friggin christ...
Oh and I can tell you weren't at any tourney because any judge that does conventions KNOWS YOU CAN'T ATTACK ON THE FIRST GOD DAMN TURN!!!!!
Freed I bow to you and feel very sorry if you have to deal with people like this all the time. To all of you that have common sense I bow to you as well, thank god their are people with brains...

I'm sorry, but now I know how Freed must feel... Yes it is a game, one that I do not play as much. Still there are things that annoy me, like not reading the rules and arguing the sense of others...

Oh and fighter guy, rules say you can't open with exodia actually. If you turn 1 draw all 5 pieces you must shuffle your hand in and draw a new 5. It's a stupid ruling but meh.

Freed the Benevolent SOLIDNSNAKE Freed the Benevolent SOLIDNSNAKE Freed the Benevolent No. Delta Attacker's effect doesn't say you can declare an attack during your first turn.
It says that during the turn Delta Attacker is activated, the attack you would declare with the three Normal Monsters can go directly to your opponent's Life Points. However, as first player, you cannot declare an attack during your first turn, period.
Card effects never change or go against game mechanics. Never. Your locals is nothing but a room of idiots. You can only activate this card while there are 3 Normal Monsters of the same name (except Tokens) on your side of the field. The 3 Normal Monsters of the same name can attack your opponent's Life Points directly during the turn that this card is activated. card effect is right there. use it first turn and well yea. makes sence to me
It doesn't work. whatever still makes sence to me. but then again the rules have been proven to be weirder
You under no reason are able to declare an attack during your first turn as first player. You follow the book.the rule book states that if a card effect would go against the rules then you would go with the card effect. such as if you play a certain spell card that allows you to activate traps on the turn they are set... i dont know if what the guy did is legal or not but i know there is a possiblity it is

wow i cant believe this is still getting posts in it. ok i understand i made a mistake (granted i still think im right) but chill guys. it was just a simple statement and as someone said there are card games that say the cards override the rules so delta attackers "you CAN attack your opponent directly" i thought gave me the permission to attack (as i said i still think im right but apparently the rulings are stupid. like the whole exodia thing someone stated earlier)

So regardless of how you feel about the "rulings", you are wrong.

Let's just make this clear.
Unlike Magic the Gathering and several other CCGs, Yugioh does NOT have the Golden Rule. The Golden Rule being what you are talking about, a card text > the rulebook.
