I first got into RPG's with the first Breath of Fire for the SNES, that was what got me hooked on the genre. Final Fantasy IV was my first FF, but I had a bad experience with the game due to a buggy cartridge which kept erasing my data, I wasn't happy from the ordeal so I quite playing Final Fantasy, and even refused to play FFVI when that came out.
Fast forward to when FFVII came out on the Playstation. I wasn't convinced as of yet that I wanted to buy one since I was completely satisfied with my Super Nintendo. My brother bought a Playstation and eventually got FFVII. I watched him play a little while then I had to jump in and give Final Fantasy a second chance. FFVII Hooked me line and sinker. And I've been a fan ever since.

When I was younger I used to get a magazine called GamesMaster which had the usual stuff in it i.e. reviews, previews, cheats etc. Every other month or so, they used to give away a cheats book (nearly always called "The only cheat book you'll EVER need") and in it I kept seeing the Blackjack code for Final Fantasy IX and the SeeD answers for Final Fantasy VIII. It used to annoy me because I always thought "If it's the Final Fantasy, why are there nine of them?" Anyway after about 6 months of seeing the "cheats" I went to my nearest games shop and found a copy of VII and a copy of VIII, I bought them and played them to death. I think I'm onto my 3rd copy of VIII and I would be on my 4th copy of VII but I've got it on my PSP now. I think at the moment my favourite of the series is V (GBA version), because it reminds me of a game (series even) that I ignored for so long. That and the fact that my Freelancer Bartz is near invincible.

So I started young, Final Fantasy 3 (SNES version, a.k.a. FF6) was my very first when it first came out, back then though I knew nothing of strategy/etc. so it took me a long time. Fast-forward to my Sophomore year of High School, and I see Final Fantasy 8 brand-new on the shelves. I'd just gotten a PS1 and was actually trying to find Crash Bandicoot, saw FF8, and shelled-out for it instead. After a few weeks of playing it, I saw the Greatest Hits for FF7 at the same Wal-Mart I'd bought 8 from, nabbed it, and then continued from long after there.

When I was 5 or so, my brothers had the original Final Fantasy on the NES. They played the game to death (I watched them finish the game with 4 White Mages... Sickening, huh?) and later obtained Final Fantasy VII. I eventually played both and we continued to buy them up to XII. After XII, I realized that I loved Final Fantasy a lot because it was practically the only thing that kept my brothers and I close. So, I ended up obtaining every Final Fantasy in the main series, including the Compilation of VII (Everything released in the US) that has been released so far. To this day, I and VII still have a special meaning to me, but they will never trump my favourite Final Fantasies. (VI, VIII, and XIII) I think the saddest part, is that I've spent nearly 9 years playing this series and I still haven't gotten tired of it.

When I was 3, I moved to a tiny town with no kids my age, so my mom bought me an NES so her and I could play together. The first four games I ended up owning were Mario Bros., obviously, Legend of Zelda, Metal Gear and Final Fantasy. FF taught me how to read and by the time we got reading buddies at 7 years old, I could read better than my grade 7 partners. Thank you FF! And I still love all of those game series.

I have been watching my older brothers play FF for as long as I can remember. I was five when VII came out and that is one of the first ones I remember watching them play, along with Tactics.
I finally got to play FFX when it came out in '01 and fell in love with the game. It might be my favorite because it's the first I played but I really like going back from time to time to play that game. c:
