    I'm playing a n o n c h a l a n t part
For me, the conclusion is that I'll someday disappear
    And I won't be allowed to remain even in m e m o r y

      I get a l o n g with others and smile
      The u s u a l thing you'd see anywhere
      I'm hiding my agenda; I'm terribly s o r r y

Rathina heard Shinij's challenge, but left her out as she silently pouted in her mind, 'What about mee?'
But then deep down, she felt as if she really knew the answer why. Even though her short stature helped her speed factor, she herself did not have the best endurance when it came to flying quickly and more then often pushed herself too far to the point of dizziness, which made her lose her sense of direction.
She had only fainted once, only once, when she was racing with her brother, see how fast they could get to their mountain castle first. She had flown too fast for too long, and around the halfway point, she had gotten dizzy, but stubbornly went on, shortly after that she had fainted and fallen in the snow. When she woke up, in her room at the palace, the first thing she saw was her brother's face of concern.
'Oh come on! It's not like a short flight would hurt you or anything! And it's not like you can do this on a daily basis either.' The last time she did something fun like this was when she was playing air tag with her brother and some of the other Faeries before he had left. Smiling, she said, "Don't leave me out Shinji! I want to be in it too!" She then continued as she said, "It can be Ember versus Shinji and my brother versus me, since Rei and I have the advantage of wings"

Regi took a step forward as his sister jumped onto his back, he managed not to fall over, god would that have been smooth, which was good.
"I'm doing what now?" Regi asked, he lifted his right hand and scratched the back of his head, "You know, even with these monsters behind me I still get tired from a long flight, all in all this hardly seems fair." Because of Regi's bird like wings he had alot of power behind him and endurance came easy because of it, but whatever advantages he gained were quickly taken away because of the size, smaller passages were harder to navigate, such as hallways, the way the wings worked aerodynamically meant that the faster he went the harder it was for him to turn, and that from a flat start it took him a little longer to get going.
"You know what Rathina, how about you go race one of the snakes over there, maybe witch boy, and I take a nice walk," he finished, taking a big step towards the entrance, "Where is that witch I'm betrothed to anyway, witchy boy?" Regi turned his head to look at his soon to be brother in law.

Jess looked back on her brother who still seemed like he was in disgust about who he was marrying. Who could really blame him? Every other royal thought of them as scum just because they lived in caves that were underground. It seemed that this war all made them serpent like anyways despite how many others would argue. They had all become selfish and somewhat greedy. If it were any other time, or if she was in any other situation she would say something to Soren. Jess felt just like him on the inside no matter how hard she tried to mask it. Talking about it might just make it a little worse for the two of them. What she really wanted to do was just to give him a hug, so that she could be reassured that somehow things might go right, but that too she supposed was a dream not worth having. Jess knew it was time she started to live in reality like her father had told her so to do, and get a grasp on where her life was heading.

When she finally made it to the second floor, she walked over to the room that would be the Nymph Prince and her's. Before she placed her hand on the door knob, she looked at Soren wishing she had something to say. She felt like that there should have been something that she could say to him. Her eyes gazed back at that door knob drawing a blank. Her angry she had figured got the best of her and caused her not to speak. "I guess this is it..." She stated to no one in particular as she turned the door knob to the room she would be sharing with the Nymph Prince. Jess entered the room, feeling sorry she had nothing more to say to Soren. Before she closed the door she looked up at Soren again. These may be the last few days she can see him before she is wed off to her fiance. "Will we still see each other...after all this?" She inquired. The worst thing for her father to do would be to tear Jess from her older brother permanently. Jess loved her brother and he was practically her best friend in their childhood.

Even the thought of never seeing her brother again hurt. How could her father have the heart to do that, if all of this came to pass? It was hard to see how Jess could ever stand to look her father in the face. And to think that Soren would be heading back home, where he would have to face their father for this! They didn't deserve this fate! No one should have to endure marrying someone they have never met or having to marry them in the name of peace. No one ever asked Jess what she wanted from this, and no one bothered to ask Soren either. It was as if they were inanimate objects, or ever like pets who could be sold off. Even the thought made Jess' angry boil.

XXXXXXXX"Ϩister, don't worry. We'll see each other every week, and talk to one another every day." Smiling fondly down at her, he squeezed his shoulder, glancing at the room he would have to share with Remember. The look he gave had been returned to him by others as he and Jess ascended the stairs, but Zane could have cared less. They were no more righteous than he, and certainly not less vile than his kind. Jess' temper was rising with each passing thought, making him shake his head with a sigh. "Relax Jess. We are not cattle being sold for his benefit. I will speak to Father about the matter later, and make a deal." It was true, he wanted to try and contact the Serpent King in order to get Jess out of the situation and let her choose. Whether he had to sell his soul to Nymphs and Faeries to do so. His sister was the most important person to him since they had no Mother, and their Father, though still on good terms with Soren, was falling farther away.

XXXXX"It'll be alright in the end." With that, his face was void of emotion once again, the stoic prince back. Though, his own thoughts trailed off to how they were being treated, not to mention the look the Faerie Princess gave him. That was odd, but it didn't really cloud his mind for long. She was nothing like Mariketa, and that's all that mattered. Deciding that his room should be left for later, Zane turned around swiftly, curious as to where the library was located. A map for the place would have been nice, but it was like when people visited the caves. Maps would have been nice to make the journey less strenuous.

A small smile made its way across Jess' normally stern looking face. Soren had a point in everything he was saying. It was about time that Jess should relax a little, though it was hard due to the current circumstances. She knew what Soren meant by a deal with their father. He was going to see if he could get her out of this, but Jess didn't want her brother to give up his own freedom. There must have been something that Soren would rather want than this arranged marriage! Jess didn't know who Soren liked since they never discussed crushes to each other. The last thing Jess wanted to admit to her brother was that she had a crush on the Fea prince.

Jess watched her brother's face go back to that expressionless state; the one that both of them knew how to keep. And with that, her brother turned away and headed down the hall in the opposite direction. Her face too went to an expressionless void as she closed the door after Soren was out of sight. The room itsefl was rather plain with its off-white walls and single bed. Jess cringed at the though of having to share a bed with that...Nymph. Jess quickly averted her to searching for her violin case which she set on the bed. Jess pulled out her well taken care of violin and began to tune it. She would hum each pitch of the string as she turned the knobs. When that was done, she finally pulled up her bow and played a composition of her own that had a slightly mellow sound to it.

The violin would take her mind off the thought of her future husband for now. But she didn't know how long it would be until he too came into the room, and then had to introduce themselves. Jess closed her eyes as she played, ignoring the rest of the world, hoping to find one bit of peace for herself.
