Blade almost dropped the sword outright when Atticus had said his name. How did he know it? It seemed he knew the names of some, if not the rest of the others as well. So he had to wonder just who the guy was in the first place. Still, he was rather wary, and he thought of charging. However, he couldn't quite bring himself to it as Atticus seemed to be on to him. Not to mention the stuff he spewed out about them being far from home with monsters in the forest. These facts actually didn't bother him a whole lot.
"I'm not afraid of monsters," he muttered, "And who are you calling a little snot, Midget Wings!"
Maybe he could just steal his wallet or anything useful when he's not looking. If he had a map he might be able to find his way out of here.
Looking around at the others again, he finally noticed Neko being all puffed up and ready to fight. He heard Poke sobbing now as well.
"Stop being such a baby," he snapped at her before looking back towards Neko. This was nothing to be crying about. She knew nothing.

"Hey!" Neko spat at Blade. "Don't yell at girls!" His mother had always taught him to be nice to girls. He hadn't really met any his own age before and the older woman always seemed to steer clear of him, something about his tail, but his mother's teachings wouldn't go to waste. He would try to be nice, even if they weren't. But this other boy was grating on his tiny nerves.
Glaring up a storm at the other boy, Neko moved away from him and stood next to Poke. He wasn't really sure what he was supposed to say, especially to a human, but what the heck. "Umm..so...what's your name?" He asked a little unsure.
Once placed back down Tobi trotted in circles as happy as a clam. He yipped once, twice, and then stumble / ran toward Blade. In the last couple of feet Tobi completely lost his balance and rolled to a halt at Blade's feet, but that didn't seem to bother him. He just laid on his back looking up at the boy, his tail wagging fiercely as he yipped again.
Finally, the noise seemed to be bringing Mitsu around. Large blue eyes fluttered open as she stared up at the clear sky. But there was something amiss. Hadn't she fallen asleep in the cave next to her brother? And why was it so warm? Sitting up she took in her surroundings with a general curiosity. This wouldn't have been the first time she had wandered off and woke confused....but she didn't know there was a place like this so close to home.
Standing she took in the people around her, eyes finally settling on the only adult in the area. She didn't seem to be frightened, nothing much scared her. But maybe this man knew where she was so she could get home. No doubt her brother would be mad.
"Hey, mister!" She said a little loudly. "Where is my cave?" It was something between a demand and a question, her tiny finger pointing at him so that he knew she was talking to him.

Atticus was getting a severe headache now with Poke's wailing. Jeez, he thought she was a tough girl...
At Blade's snide remark, Atticus's wings gave a twitch. So that's how he was going to play it? Low blows? "I bet you don't have any friends. Do you?" He asked, sounding matter-of-fact about it. "And you won't with that s**t attitude. So if you're leaving, go ahead and go." As he spoke, he gave little Blade a shoo of the hand, as if he was a puppy that wouldn't leave him be.
"Everybody else is welcome to stay, should they decide to."
When he was addressed by Mitsu, Atticus glanced toward her. "No idea." Was his simple answer. Now. How did he remedy this situation? First would probably be to shut them up. And how did you shut kids up? With candy, of course.
Grabbing his jacket off of the tree branch, he quickly grabbed the top hat that had been folded behind a special pocket, popping it out and reaching in. He felt like he was about to pull a rabbit out of his hat. But instead...
He pulled out candy. Enough for each child. This was what he used to shut children that came in for examinations up. Surely it would work for them too.
While still trying to be gentle of the situation, he held down his hand to Poke. "I'm sorry." Even if he didn't mean it. "Would you like some?" The offer had been for everybody, but he figured since she was crying, she should get the first choice.
Riyo quietly peeked out from behind the tree to see what was going on. Her ears twitched while she eavesdropped on the conversations happening. She... She didn't have any friends either...
Seeming to realize something, Riyo recoiled for a moment, then peeked back out from behind the tree, holding the cat doll in the same position just below her. What did that man have in his hand, she wondered.

Blade was going to say something back to Neko but Atticus's comment stiffened him. His dark red eyes narrowed at the adult but he had nothing to retort with. As he started to turn away, a puppy had rolled out before him. The puppy sure seemed pretty happy, probably because of all the kids around.
Speaking of the others, they seemed to be just as clueless as to where they were as he was. Whatever. He wasn't going to stick around. Ever since that day he never really stayed around one place for long. He tended to try and stray from other people too, including those around his age. Nowadays they just made him angry, like they were doing now.
"You should try and find a home, puppy," he told the dog before tightening his grip on the sword and started to storm away in Riyo's general direction. He didn't want the jerk's candy.
"Who needs friends anyway," he mumbled to himself.

"Hey, I'm not a baby!" the insult by blade seemed to stop poke from sobbing for a minute as she tried to show that she wasn't one, but failing anyway. It was rare that she would cry like this, hell she couldn't remember ever being this upset. But then she always had her mom to run to when there was trouble, or her group of friends to support her. She threw back her own tearful glare, but found his direction was turned to the boy with the two tails.
When the boy came to her and asked her name. She paused, looking at him and then quickly rubbing her eyes to stop herself from crying again. With a sniffle she responded. "I'm poke...umm, whats your name? do...you know where we are?"
Her attention was then directed at the puppy who had ran over to blade, but had fallen over. It was so adorable....and cute...She wanted to pick it up and cuddle it. But then she looked up again to see the adult had come over, apoligised, and was now offering her candy.
Now, poke was cluey about this one. She had been told over and over again never to take candy from strangers. Most kids had been told that. It was common knowledge that adults loved to temp them with candy, but then took them away. And this adult seemed to rank top 10 on her "suspicious adults" list. But he did apoligise, and she was already in the middle of no where...
Sniffling again, she warily put her hand out to take one of the candies, then quickly drew her hand back with one before he could do anything. Satisfied he wasn't about to do anything else she mumbled a "thank you", and then looked to the kitty boy to see if he would take any of the candy.

"Poke?" Neko tried to smile though it was awkward. "My name is Neko." He looked to Atticus and the candy. With a shrug he took a piece and sniffed it curiously. "I really have no idea where we are," Neko said still inspecting the candy. "I usually don't, I just wander around." Slowly he peeled back the wrapping still unsure. He had never really had candy before.
"Beh," Mitsu huffed out her frustration placing her hands on her hips. What use was this adult? Adults were supposed to know everything! Or maybe that's just what they wanted you to think. No matter, Ginji would come to find her soon enough. He always did, no matter where or how far she went.
Her frustration, however, was short lived as she watched Atticus retrieve his hat and search around before withdrawing something. What was it she wondered? Curious she moved over to the trio and looked around the cat boy to see what the man was offering. "What is it?" Her blue eyes seemed to sparkle with interest.
But in her ADD state that wasn't enough to hold her attention. Without even waiting for an answer Mitsu caught sight of the little wings on Atticus's back and pointed wide eyed. "Mister! Mister! There's a bird stuck to your back!"
As Blade moved away, Tobi gave a bit of a whimper. He was being ignored! That just wouldn't do. Rolling over so that he was right side up again he trotted behind Blade until he caught sight of the little girl hiding behind the tree. Another person to play with! Bounding over happily the pup gave a yip, his front paws extended in front of him, his tail and rear high in the air. This one had a toy and it looked like fun!

Atticus did his best to ignore Mitsu's comment, and instead focus on her question. "It's candy. Sweet like a fruit." He tried to explain in the best way possible.
A cold breeze reminded him that he was still shirtless, to which he answered with another identical shirt straight from his hat. It must've been like a black hole in there. As he buttoned up the undershirt, he pondered how exactly this has happened... Ironically staring at the lake as he did.
As Blade rounded the tree she was hiding behind, little Riyo changed her position behind the tree, trying to avoid the boy's line-of-sight and forgetting that the other people could see her from that angle. "What's wrong with friends?" she mumbled to herself out loud. Everybody she had ever seen with a person they considered a friend looked happy...
She then noticed the ball of fluff bounding behind the boy. Her eyes widened as she realized it was running right towards her. What was it? What did it want?! She gasped and turned around to run, but tripped herself and fell flat on her face hugging her doll tightly. "Please don't hurt me." It wasn't a plea as much as a humble request, as if she was used to saying it.

Catching some movement and hearing a soft voice, Blade paused and saw a girl hiding nearby. He didn't really have a good answer to the question.
"It's too much of a hassle to try and make them," he huffed. The puppy apparently had followed him somewhat, but decided to bumrush the girl once she came into view. Riyo seemed to be fairly scared of the little dog though, judging her reaction.
With a 'hmph', he looked back to where he was walking. He really had no clue where he was headed. So for the time being he just stood there, feeling bitter and trying to figure out what he should do exactly. There was no telling where the nearest town was... and the only survival skills he really had were on the streets. In a town or city he could get a meal fairly easy... but hunting was a little beyond him.

"aww..." poke looked to the ground, feeling slightly disheartened that he didn't know where to go either. But then she looked up again. "wait? you wander around all by yourself? but..." she looked at him again. "wheres your mommy and daddy?"
She then noticed the puppy took off to follow the other boy, and then heard the sound of someone falling over. She could now see a kitty girl was curled up on the fall hugging her doll. "ahh! the kitty girl fell over!" poke gasped. she ran over to the other kitty thinking that she might of been hurt. She could also see the puppy wasn't far away. "ah! no puppy you can't hurt the kitty!!" she called out.

Neko paused in his inspection of the candy to look at Poke. How could she have found the hardest question to ask? "I never knew my dad." He said flatly looking back at his candy with intense interest now. "And my mom died not long ago." But Poke was off as quick as a light to help the fallen cat girl. Uncertain, he followed behind her to help as well trying to mentally forget about the question he had just answered.
As soon as Riyo was down Tobi attacked.....with kisses. She was now at his level and he didn't hold back in his vicious licking. Sparing no remorse to what he was doing he covered as much of her arms and face with saliva as possible only pausing a moment to sniff the doll and then her face.
Everyone ran off and Mitsu was left to stare at the candy in Atticus' hand all by herself. Should she take a piece? She had heard of fruit, some of the older wolves that wandered out and came back months later had what they called dried fruit and it was always pretty good. "So where does it come from? My elders said that fruit grew on trees, does this grow on a tree as well? And what about the outside? Do you eat that too?" She was bound and determined to get to the bottom of this candy business one question at a time.

So. It looked like Neko had started his life off rather roughly. Knew what love and loss was like as a child. He supposed that explained a few things...Atticus watched the other two run off before looking back at Mitsu with all her asinine questions. It was candy. Either she wanted it or she didn't. "It comes from people. They make it with all kinds of different ingredients." carefully, he unwrapped one of the pieces to show her the inside. "You don't eat the shiny stuff. Just the inside." Atticus explained to the best of his ability, holding it out to her if she wanted it.
At Blade's last comment, Riyo couldn't help but admit to herself that it was quite true... Though the thought left her mind when she heard Tobi's little paws approaching quickly, bracing herself for the worst. What she got was a pleasant surprise. Her eyes opened as the puppy sniffed her face. He looked...
Happy. As if he was happy to see her. She blinked, and slowly sat up to look down at the ball of fur. The doggy spit didn't really bother her, as she was too busy puzzling over the creature to think about it. "Little creature, is that happy face for me?" Her eyes almost shined at the question. She was about to reach down and pet him, until she heard Poke's voice approaching. Riyo's ears fell back against the side of her head as she saw them running towards her. Of course 'puppy' couldn't hurt her. That would probably be their job.

"It comes from people? What kind of people?" She seemed intent to ask questions but did finally take the candy from his hand. Only briefly did she look at the candy before she popped it into her mouth. The flavor was a surprise! She had never tasted anything so sweet. What kind of wonderful people made this incredible delicacy she wondered?
About to open her mouth to ask another question Mitsu was cut off as if speechless. In her attempt to draw breath through her mouth she had accidentally pulled the piece of candy down her throat and it was there now blocking her airways. It only took her a second to realize this was a bad situation and began to flail about unable to scream, cry, or make any noise for that matter.
Tobi gave a yip as if to answer Riyo's question, his tongue hanging haphazardly out the side of his mouth. Anticipating a pat on the head Tobi began to tilt his head forward but the pet never came. Confused he turned back toward the girl and gave another yip. Maybe she had forgotten?
(I'll wait for Poke to post before I post with Neko. Poke should also post in the main rp 8D *hint hint*)

Poke hadn't expected neko to reply with that. She had thought his parents may have been somewhere else. It made her feel quite sad again. She didn't like to hear when people lost their parents or someone close to them, because they were always so sad when it happened.
As she ran towards the cat girl, she could see her recoil and her ears fall back. She paused. The kitty looked really scared. Or was she hurt? "misses kitty, are you okay?" she called out. She didn't know if she wanted to get closer or not..Te kitty could scratch her.

With some of the others somewhat gathering a little behind him, Blade glanced back to see Tobi slobbering all over Riyo. They seemed to be having quite some fun there. When Poke and Neko came by to see if Riyo needed any help, he wandered off some distance and plopped himself against a tree. He still needed to figure out what he wanted to do, and that wasn't too likely to happen with the other kids too close by.

Neko stopped behind Poke eying the cat girl. She seemed frightened and maybe crowding around wasn't the best of ideas. Swirling gray eyes focused on her crimson ones, brows furrowed in concern. "Are you all right?" She was a cat too so maybe she wouldn't be so afraid of him? Approaching slowly he offered her his hand. "I can help you up."
