Azzo paused he seemed to be thinking while shoving one thing off the board into a bowl and starting on another. "Hum... So uh.... the where we met... do I answer Hospital? Or Onion... I mean Organ ring?" He asked wondering if she'd get the lame attempt at being slightly funny.
He paused, "Well if he only asks if I'm a Serial Killer and not if I'm crazy. Because I mean, crazy could imply a lot of things. Serial Killers, eh they're just psycho bastards that someone let have a kni..." He paused and looked at the irony of the current situation. "Knife. Oh the Irony!"
Azzo for whatever reason didn't like fathers, but he'd try to take Mel's with a grain of salt.

She giggled and shook her head, enjoying his goofing off. Even if it wasn't intentional it amused her. He had a way of doing that.
"Oh come on, pup. You aren't that bad." Another giggle and she moved to finish dialing her dad. "I promise he won't bite your head off, anyway. And I'll make it short. Yea?"
Not giving him a chance to answer (sorry Azzo) she put the call through and waited for him to pick up. Her mom should still be at work, since she was spending more nights at the office to combat her daughter not being home. Sure enough, three rings later, he picked up.
"Hello pumpkin, what do I owe the pleasure of you calling?" could be heard over the line, her phone's volume a little louder then she remembered it being last. Oops.
"Hi cha~ I hope I'm not interrupting anything."
"No, of course not. What can I do you for?"
"Well I'm at a guy friend's house and we were wondering if you could help us make an omelet."
"A guy's house, huh? Better hope your mother doesn't find out about this..."
She sighed at his tone, knowing it was that "what do you plan on doing to make sure she doesn't find out?" tone. Which meant yes, he would like to talk to Azzo. She was hoping she might could get out of it. No such luck.

Azzo watched Melody dial, he'd still been chopping up to the point she actually called the man. "Heh, you haven't seen my room." He said softly when she said he wasn't that bad while waiting for the phone call.
He admitted it did sort of look like a meat locker room. What with all the puppets hanging from the ceiling. He'd sat the knife down out of reach and out of harms way as he crossed his arms and tilted his head.
He paused when he realized he wouldn't know what to call Melody's father and looked at her, "What should I call him?" He asked quietly before she even had the notion to hand him the phone. He wanted to be polite of course, but he wasn't completely sure what he'd rather. If it was just Sir or Mr or... what.
Not to mention, he really wasn't sure about talking to the man. Teachers and what not where fine, they didn't have daughters that anyone knew. Though like Yvette he often did things for people because they'd want him to or he wanted to make sure everything was okay.

"Oh cha, you're such a big meanie!" she pouted at the phone. His laughter carried through and her pout melted to a smile. "All right, all right. Give me just a sec and you can talk to him, kay?"
Pulling the phone from her ear, she covered the mouthpiece to look at him. "Now why would the state of your room matter?" Melody question, an eyebrow raised before she shook her head. "But anyway, if you want just call him Mr. Klein. Probably best to start with until he says otherwise."
And then she uncovered the phone and handed it to him. Really, it wasn't going to be as bad as he was worried about, honest.

Azzo looked at her lofting a brow at her, "Why?" He said after she asked the question, "Because there's puppets hanging from the ceiling?" He said in a questioning manner as if that was perhaps the weirdest thing in the world for normal people.
Azzo took the phone looking at Melody before greeting the man on the other side as cheerfully without over doing it as possible. "Hello Mr. Klein." He said trying to keep calm as he spoke, "How are you today, Sir?"
He wasn't sure what else to ask, so he tried to do it as casual and politely as possible, while waiting for the stream of questions to come and grill him.

She waved off the bit about the puppets from his ceiling, he had to have some place to put them right? To each their own and she wouldn't judge him just because he had puppets from his ceiling.
"Hello there, young man!" he greeted with a smile in his voice. "I'm not too bad for today, though I am curious as to what young man's home my daughter is visiting. How are you?"
He was polite enough, it seemed, and more then willing to tease. Mr. Klein spoke near perfect English, though there was a hint of his original Chinese which accented his words just a bit. So far so good, right?

Azzo seemed confused for a bit, when he heard the vague Chinese accent. However, Mel had mentioned Vietnamese dishes, his brow lofted seemed to indicate his confusion. He'd clear it up later though.
He, "The names Azzo Wolf Crowley, Sir." He said promptly unsure if that's quite what he was asking at first before giving one of those character honest answers, "No to bad Mr. Klein, Kind of on the hungry side. Grams left me here for the week without knowing how to cook."
He was hoping pulling a slight sympathy card would get Mr. Klein off the phone with him faster and back to Melody. He seemed like a nice fellow, but Azzo was still rather nervous about talking to him.

"Ah, I see," he replied, making note of the name. It sounded familiar and he was sure his daughter had spoken of the boy before. "Not knowing how to cook huh? My daughter's the same way, though I put all the blame on her mother for that."
And he did, truly. As wonderful a woman she was, she was too dependent on their money and status and wanted her daughter to do the same. Which limited her in cooking experience.
"Hmm... before I go, a question. Just one and I won't keep you long."

Azzo bite his lower lip listening to the fact Mr. Klein blamed Melody's mother. "At least she has both of you..." He said weakly before tilting his head at Melody.
"And... of course sir. What's the question?" He asked curiously probably expecting something like Melody had mentioned. He was trying to not sound a bit worried.

Melody had moved around to stand behind Azzo, it was easier with the way he was standing, and wrapped her arms around him from behind in a hug. Yes she knew that it put them in a "personal" position, but he looked like he needed the hug. Or at least reassurance.
If Mr. Klein heard the "at least she has both of you" he didn't comment, which was likely a good thing. Smiling over the line, though he knew the boy couldn't see it, her father continued. "Can I trust you to keep my little girl safe?"
That was it, his one sole question. And it was nothing like the ones she had prepared him for.

Azzo slightly jumped at being hugged from behind but placed a hand on Mel's to give a soft pat for a thanks, while the other still held the phone.
He seemed to think how to word it without sounding melodramatic. "Of course you can sir." He paused, "I swear on my grandfather's grave." Of course the pair of them didn't know the amount of respect he held for his grandfather, so that might not have meant much to either of them.
He glanced back at Melody a bit awkwardly, "Would you like to talk to her again?" He asked curiously.

She murmured an apology as he jumped, smiling at the pat to his hand. Seconds later she pulled away to give him some more space, hoping her father would be done soon. And that he had no plans to playfully torture Azzo.
There was a chuckle on the line. "If you would please, Azzo. It was nice talking to you."

Azzo nodded softly to her apology. "Yes sir, nice talking to you to." He replied before handing her the phone. He was still looking at the phone like he wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
He blinked and turned back to finish chopping the other stuff. He'd gotten a few frying pans out. He knew the stuff to use. It was actually making it that was the problem.
The eggs however were still in the fridge for the time being, he knew his luck one would roll off the counter and break. He was waiting for Melody to finish and didn't want to interrupt speically if she was getting cooking instructions.

Taking the phone back, she excused herself to finish the conversation and took the paper and pencil with her. What they said went unheard, because she had made sure to keep her voice quiet while away from him and she had moved far enough away the loud volume of her phone couldn't be heard. It wasn't that she was talking about Azzo behind his back, but rather moving away in case her father had something to say he didn't want heard.
She returned a few minutes later with the directions written out in beautiful, easy to read, handwriting and held out the paper to him. "There you are, pup~ Directions to make an omelet." A bright smile was flashed his way.

Azzo took a look at the directions with a grin, "Awesome. You want one?" He asked, granted he'd already chopped enough for more than one having random veggies most anything anyone could want.
He looked at Mel, "So?" He said as he got out the eggs waiting for an actual answer if she wanted one looking at the directions. He was getting one omelet stirred up and waited to see if she wanted one before he started to throw veggies in the smaller pan.
