@ Zebra - I'm doing Vet Nursing at UCOL, I'm told that it's a more practically based course than the one at Massey. In our first week we were handling dogs, and giving them physical exams in the 2nd week. Apparently you don't do that at Massey until 2nd year (I heard this from a class mate who went to massey last year). I am considering going back to Massey to do a Vet Tech degree, but we'll see how things play out over the next year, and how many more years that would take me xd Are you keen to study vet-something?
@ Cronos - I've spent the last 4 years in tertiary education, & at times I just want out ninja - I tried for vet last year, and am sort of glad I didn't get in, I think the heavy workload and focus on getting A's would have killed me. Vet nursing is pretty intense too, but at least it's more hands on than theory. I was so sick of people lecturing at me...I should technically be typing a report up on microchipping (it's part of a 4 part assignment), but I'm such a procrastinator.

------------------------------------------------------------------------- ...as the wind whistled past it whispered in your ears... @Cronos - Haah~ I loved that anime to bits >w<
@Catharia - Ooo~ That's so kewl. I can't help but admire you xd Well, I would like to do at least little bit of veterinary science, since it just seems to me that if you want to pursue a life revolving around animals, even just some basic veterinary knowledge could come in handy, but I actually plan to major in zoology.
...then the words drifted away, never to be heard again...

Awww, thankies redface You could always do what I did, major in zoology and then do vet nursing. It'll take you 5 years to do all that, but if you pick the right papers as an undergrad you can cross credit them into your vet nursing diploma smile

I want to be a vet when I grow up. I love science and animals. ^.^ I'm definately not going to be a teacher. My Communications teacher practically goes insane every day... I feel bad for her...

------------------------------------------------------------------------- ...as the wind whistled past it whispered in your ears... Well now, that does seem like a good idea. But we'll see what I do in the end~
Haha, Sapph, I love science & animals too. I much prefer animals to humans in all honesty xd But I'd never be able to stand being a vet... I'm just a bit too squeamish ^-^; ...then the words drifted away, never to be heard again...

I'd certainly rather be a vet than a teacher, but I'm currently pursuing my English degree and teaching credentials. I want to be a Middle/High school English teacher that shakes up the syllabus a bit. Seriously, I want my kids to study Star Wars, Tolkien, and Myazaki. I want to take those "classic literature" skills of identifying symbolism, allegory, applicability, and all that and apply it to popular culture--where they'll need it. Music, movies and even art are all quickly affecting popular culture and international relations, and that's more important than old, depressing stories.
And seriously...Of Mice and Men, Romeo and Juliette, To Kill A Mocking Bird, Lord of the Flies...Is it just me or is this a retarded reading list for a group of hormonally imbalanced, depression-pron teens?

hahahaha... you know what. I really don't know what I want to be when i grow up. Oh wait I know.. I want to be a millionaire so I don't have to worry about working and all the crap, just free to do whatever I wish. Like that'll ever happen!
Anyways, I was lucky Scarlet as I didn't have to really read those except Romeo/Juliette. I dropped the AP english in HS after 1 year and said screw this I'll just do honors! Did I ever mention I really hated english class? But my senior honors english was da bomb! We read Beowolf, The Hobbit, and MacBeth. I actually enjoyed that class.
Okay so I'm jones'n for some Dresden stories. Dern website posted the first 4 chapters of the new book as a preview and I'm chompin' at the bits to continue but the book dun come out for another 2-3 weeks... UGH!!! I need my wizardly PI to kick some supernatural butt!

@scarlet: *sad face* I really liked my shakespeare unit... and we got to do some pretty interesting plays last semester in my english class... I forewarn you though... err.. wait. More of an "i wish you luck" if tolken and starwars and stuff isn't in the curriculum when you teach. But by the sound of it everyone will love you.
sweatdrop you all make me sound like a bit of a redneck/not smart person...

I love Shakespeare too, but couldn't High School students study a comedy? Like Midsummer Night's Dream or the Merchant of Venice or Merry Wives of Windsor? Seriously, the kids just came out of health class with fear of STDs and pregnancy running through their veins and you hand them a tragic teen romance script. What sort of message does that send?
I think my class is going to be focused more on "language arts" which include all the various forms that we use to communicate. Not stuffy depressing old books that you can't understand anyway. razz

thank you everyone, for the promise to try, because that realy is all i'm truely asking for. smile i just want to see everyone interacting more. and it looks like it's working too! ^.^ ScarletFrost So it's more like a misc roll call that simultaneously drums up interesting topics with interesting people. I mean, isn't the whole point of this to get the guild more active and less clique-ish? yes, exactly. Catharia I'll do my best with the whole posting everyday thing, but uni is strating to pick up the pace, and I'll be off on work experience soon. Lord knows I'm lazy enough as it is, but after an 8 hour day in the kennels I'll be much more so (it's a cat thing). yeh, i know all about that. xd i am very close to kitties. Cronos the Timekeeper Hmmm.. why is it that no one is ever on when I am. Well off to finish the laundry and then to watch some of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni... man that's a strange anime! not as wierd as Foolie Coolie! o_O; though the manga for it is even wierder.... ScarletFrost I'd certainly rather be a vet than a teacher, but I'm currently pursuing my English degree and teaching credentials. Chieftain Twilight not as wierd as Foolie Coolie! o_O; though the manga for it is even wierder.... Okay now you got me interesting... couldn't find it at first, but that's the english name. The other is eithr FLCL or Furi Kuri. Only 6 episodes, so not bad then as I can handle that. Just wish I could find the rest of Peacemaker Korugane as I could only get like 8 or 9 episodes so far. Well off to work now that I got those 6 queued up.

ScarletFrost Not stuffy depressing old books that you can't understand anyway. razz ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ...as the wind whistled past it whispered in your ears... But those are the best o3o Actually, I wouldn't know, I've never read anything of the sort, but somehow they seem very appealing to me. Still, I'd have to agree with most of what you're saying. Such literature really doesn't seem to be suitable these days and a comedy does sound that a fun idea X'3
