Great, Hatching time. Unlike most candidates, Delilah wasn't in a great hurry to get there. She was perfectly happy to end up somewhere in the back, thank you! She wasn't even concerned with whether or not she'd have a good 'view' of the hatching dragonets. She'd just stand here and wait for the select few to Impress, maybe for a person or two to get mauled - maybe her, but since she wasn't up front, she wouldn't be first in line for it, anyway.

Really, the sooner this was over, the better. Then they could get off this hot sand and eat!

The egg continued to rock back and forth, however from inside it seemed almost as though the dragon was humming to itself. It almost sounded like a lullaby, had anyone been listening close enough, and Dorath gave the egg a soft croon of encouragement. With one, two, three more rocks it finally broke, revealing the large green inside it. She stretched almost lazily, regarding the gathered candidates quietly.

Once she had looked at everyone – or at least, it appeared that way – she got to her feet and strolled calmly towards the gathered group of boys. Another one for the boys, it seemed. Each candidate was quietly appraised, however something made her stop and turn her head back to look at the eggs.

The Earthy Stains Egg was cracking, spidery veins running down the sides until the egg split neatly in two. In its remains was another green, several shades darker than her sister. The Curled Leaf green crooned softly to her clutchmate, and the darker green gave an answering rumble. Friends perhaps? Only theirs would know.

Turning her attention back to the boys, the lighter green began making her way through them as her darker companion set off towards the girls.

Julian watches as the lighter green scans them, or at least he thinks she looks over them all, then croons at the darker green that had just hatched. He divides his attention between the two greens. Who would the lighter pick and who would the darker pick? He just couldn't tell and he wasn't any expert to ask anyhow. From what he'd heard, dragons would pick who they chose to pick.

Tanda placed a protective hand over her abdomen. She wasn't even really showing that much, which was fortunate or else family dinners would be a great deal less friendly, but the instinct to protect was already there. She spoke softly to her unborn child, describing what was going on to him or her. She didn't have the words to describe the elation that new weyrlings probably felt, but she tried. She could only hope that the unborn one was developed enough to feel everything that was going on.

"Now there are two greens. The darker one is going toward the girls, but the lighter one who hatched first is still with the boys," Tanda narrated.

Watching the hatching reminded her a little of Jericho. He hadn't Impressed at Ghenza it seemed. She was sorry for that, but there should be other chances for him. Besides, there was no way of knowing yet if the child was his. Even after he or she was born, Tanda's Igen heritage would probably be dominant enough that it would be difficult to tell who the father was. Which suited her just fine. She only hoped B'shir came back in time to see his nephew. The plague was long past. It was time for that clutch to come home.

Veyes watched two greens emerge noting the darker ones color then thought of L'thor and Raith. He could imagine those moments before they impressed. The thought merrily filtered through his mind and while he watched the greens, his attention was drifting off again as he backed up just a foot step suddenly tripping on a boy behind him.

He caught himself before falling and snapped back his attentions on the events around him. "Oh, I'm sorry." he said quickly, "Didn't mean to step on you." He gave his quick apologizes and realized this was someone he hadn't met before. "Mm..I'm Veyes. Nice to meet you." He said in a softer tone as he glanced between the boy and the two greens.

Jessalie coo'ed a little at the greens, and thought it nice and thoughtful of the lighter green to wait and encourage her sister. Nice, thoughtful dragons; they were good to have. Jessalie stood a little taller, a little straighter when she saw the darker green start on her way towards the girls. Could this be her dragon? Jessalie tried to send her love towards the green, her brow furrowing a little in effort. Could the dragon hear her, could it feel her? She didn't know. She cast a glance at the lighter green as she moved towards the boys, and hoped her impression would go well and without a hitch. It seemed like it would, if the dragon's demeanor was anything to go by.

Seeing as she wasn't a boy though, Jessalie's attention was recaptured by the dark green, who was much closer and therefore more interesting, and hoped that even if this dragon wasn't for her, that the green would find hers and make her human very happy, and no one would be hurt in the process. A hatching where no one was hurt...that was the best kind of hatching.

The eggs revealed a pair of greens. Fellendar watched quietly; they were not doing anything terribly exciting, so the former Harper decided it was probably safe to continue his search for his friend. Ah! There she was. The youth waved, hoping he could catch Roni's eye, but something in the corner of his mind noted he should probably be paying attention to the young dragon approaching the crowd of males. Even if she looked pleasant enough, that didn't mean there wouldn't be an accident.

Fellendar was rather certain the green wasn't his. Content to rock on his heels and watch her Impress, he glanced to the side, watching the other green approach the girls. He knew he wouldn't ride a green, but it was certainly a possibility for Roni! Wouldn't that be clever of her, Impressing on her first hatching. Craning his neck, the black-haired youth made his best attempt to watch both dragons at once.

Watching the beautifully spotted brown make it's way toward the group of boys, Zach appraised the hatchling. It had a mischievous look in it's eye as it butted and shoved at all the boys on its way to . . . him.

Whiskey eyes widening, he blinked as the dragon came right to him and rammed his knobbed head into Zach's chest, knocking him onto his backside and giving his new rider a hearty chuckle.

Come on, Mine! You and your Brath, we have so much to do together!

Zacharai gaped, rubbing a hand along his dragon's muzzle as a sense of utter calm filled him. "We do, my Brath. We definitely do."

It was good, Iden thought, to see that handsome brown Impress to someone -- he was sure that whoever it was would certainly end up with quite a lot to talk about and do, eh? It wasn't a jealous feeling, since he too had been bumped as it passed and he'd chanced a slight pat on the warm brown head. He knew what hatchling hide felt like now, at least, and he quite liked it, filing away the texture. Could be a vitally important bit of information when he was telling the story of this Hatching later, right? Right.

While he was pondering this, however, he looked up at the sight of the rather pretty green strolling in their direction. Well, hello there, he thought with a smile. Calm as anything she seemed, light and pleasant, though he did note the darker green ambling off toward the girls with a slight chuckle. Pretty girls, indeed, they were! Who were they after? Did he know them?

Felt his heartbeat rise as the brown came towards him, but simply nuzzled him aside. A Brief spark of hope but he wasn't too dissapointed, after all. He had lady luck on his side but he wasn't feeling her love enough to get the first egg of the clutch. And Quietly there was still that voice inside that said he should give up while he was ahead, he couldn't make it as a Harper, wouldn't the dragons see the same uselessness in him. At Least he looked sexy in his man dress.

Not that the dragon eggs were about to give him time to linger on any deeper thoughts though, as soon another smaller egg started to rock its way across the sands, Work it. someone had rythem. Althrough he'd be damned if he knew what song the dragon was listening too. But then the music stopped as the egg cracked open and tumblled a new green into the world, followed shortly after by a darker sister. Both of these girls seemed pretty easy going and so far his first hatching seemed to be going extreamly smoothly. The only damper on proceedings so far was that empty space where the wery leader should have been standing.

Now the as the greens trundled to their seperate sides both the boys and the girls had reason to take in and hold their breath for the next that would be chosen. Efrain crossed his arms over his chest in some ways afraid someone might see how fast it was beating against his ribs and tried to emain a calm and relaxed demenour.

Maybe thats why he didn't notice the boy backing towards him abefore it was too late, he reached out to try and grab him but the other had already steadied himself. Efrain wasn't one to take offense at something like that unless someone tried to blame him for their own clumbness and this kid was only deeply appolgetic. He waved his hand casualy "Don't worry about it, it's bound to happen in crowded places like this." he assured him and since Vesyes introduced himself social rules dictated he had to return it. "Yes, nice to meet you to, I'm Efrain." he told him, he hadn't meet the other before but hardly suprising since Efrain didn't keep many close friends around him.

Too bad he was a little distracted at the moment his eyes hardly staying longer than a few moments on his new compaion before they went back to the approaching green. "But like I said, don't worry about it."He repeated while not even looking at him.

With her darker sister hatched and making her way through the girls, the lighter dragon seemed content to finally choose hers. Formalities aside, she sat down neatly in front of one of the boys and tucked her wings neatly against her body.

Well hello there yourself, Iden, she replied, sounding amused. I am Salth. Our brother Brath is amusing, is he not?

As the dark green continued to wander between candidates, the Grassy Nook Egg began to wiggle, its shivers almost making it look like the Coffee 'n Cream Egg was wiggling as well.

The first green seemed remarkably well in hand for a hatchling, and Maisalyn watched with curiosity as she appraised the Candidates before heading off towards the boys. It was only the hatching of another green, this one darker, that distracted the first. It was always interesting to see the bonds that existed between the clutchmates even straight out of the egg...

As the darker green came towards the girls, Maisalyn kept a careful eye trained on the green and took a quick glance at the others she hadn't spared before; one candidate who appeared to be cowering made the young woman wonder what had been running through the Search rider's mind when he brought that one in. She supposed the girl might've only shown it once faced with the realization of what she'd been Searched for; still, it was a bit irresponsible, wasn't it? Oh well--if she Impressed perhaps her dragon could lend her some courage. Glancing back towards the boys, she noted the first green's Impression, and the movement of another yet another egg.

Oh, what pretty girls they were! When she allowed herself to look once more at the lighter green, Jessalie rejoiced inwardly that anothe impression had gone so well. What a sweet, demure little thing; Jessalie was sure that she'd make her rider very happy. Content that things had gone well, she looked to the eggs, and felt her heart do a flip when the Grassy Nook Egg wiggled. And was the Coffee 'n Cream Egg moving as well? She couldn't tell, but she hoped it was, she hoped all the eggs hatched and impressed. Things were going so well so far, it would be perfect if it continued. The only thing more she could hope for would be to impress, but...well, she didn't want to get too hopeful, and then be let down. She had to be reasonable.

But...the hatching would go well. It had to go well; so they could laugh at Telgar for it. Couldn't they tell their bronzes from queens? She chuckled a little to herself, recalling when she'd first heard that. But what they had here...that was definately a queen. Amused at this thought, she turned back to the dark green lady, waiting to see who she would choose.

Were they all going to hatch at once? Olla wondered as she looked on, it seemed the lighter of the two greens had found hers, or at least the green was interested in one boy in particular. The green approaching the girls did not seem aggressive but the short candidate wasn't going to be too relaxed around an unbonded hatchling.

She tensed as the green walked near her and switched her feet nervously, she couldn't decide whether to move out of the way or to stand perfectly still.

Veyes was rather thankful that the person he had tripped over hadn't taken it badly. And he even learned a name...Efrain. Well he couldn't expect much talking to take place considering most everyone was engrossed by the eggs rocking on the sands. "Yeah, it does happen a lot in these kinds of crowds." he murmured in agreement while letting his eyes glance over to the newly impressed green then across to the other darker green.

He sighed with a quiet smile and scooted his feet around in the sand to get a better footing so he wouldn't accidentally make a fool of himself a second time. He didn't mind the heat on his feet anymore. Maybe at one point he would have but nowadays it just became a fact of the candidate life. Hot feet...sweaty hands...the long wait and the hopefulness. He'd probably go see the afters party this time in this new place and try to put the past behind him.

As his eyes lifted up to the eggs and dragonet, he asked himself the same question he asked every time an egg hatched. Who would this one choose? At least, this hatching seemed to be going off without a hitch and that was very agreeable to Veyes. He peeked around and wondered because there were so many choices.
