Share a bed? Really? Well...he certainly wasn't going to argue! Grinning, he put his hands briefly on his hips, his fingers through a couple of his belt loops. " Well alright then, but I don't want the wall. So you can have the blanket...on the condition yooou sleep closer to the wall, and I can have your body heat." Seemed fair to him! He used to sleep with Na in a similar fashion, there was nothing wrong with this, of course!

The young Shaman made a shooing motion to her, to make her get herself comfortable first. Once she was more or less settled he turned off the lights and crawled in beside her, letting her have the pillow and instead folding his arms behind his own head, letting his legs sprawl out comfortably. "Goodnight, 'Tori." He yawned, his eye closing.

"Night Kay," Victoria whispered. She didn't mind getting the wall. Actually she preferred to be surrounded. After a moment of facing the wall she rolled over and snuggled against Kay. She was use to having a stuffed toy of some sort... This was actually better- Kay was warm.

----

It was nearly six, and the sun was just starting to make its debut... Vlad approached The Curio Shop doors. Surprisingly he was rather calm for a dad missing a daughter. It was mostly due to how much trouble he and his sibling had gotten into when he was younger and there being very open minded.

Of course Aurora had panicked a little more when she gave the news... But, that was due to the fact she didn't want to be told she was irresponsible. Then again it was the truth because after all Victoria had managed to leave her place of residence and be gone for a good long time.

Vlad had quickly pieced things together and shortly after the news knew exactly where to go. He told Aurora to go on home and get some rest... He just knew everything would work out.

He reached for the doors. Disappointment set in... They were locked. Could he have been wrong? He just knew this is where Victoria would go... What if something happened on her way to getting here? He pulled on the doors again in hopes they were stuck...

Switch hated getting up early, absolutely hated it. But she had some errands to run before opening the shop, so early it was! A quick glance into a room proved that Kay didn't come home that night; he probably stayed at the shop, which was fine. They had a spare room there for a reason! Her route to her errands brought her past the shop...and, of course, a man she recognized.

"Vlad?" The blue haired woman said curiously, having seen him tug on the doors. "Whattre you doing here so early? I usually don't open for another two hours..." Understandably, the woman was confused. Did he leave something here last time? Nah, couldn't be. Still, she headed over, not wanting to unlock the doors until she had an answer from him.

Vlad turned when he heard the familiar voice of the shop owner. "Switch," he said a bit startled. After all, he was expecting her to be inside.

He had no choice but to start from the beginning or none of it would make since. He told Switch about the argument and her staying with her aunt... He finished up with the details of this morning. "I expected to find her here..." he was trying to remain calm. "But, the doors are locked... So I'm guessing I'm wrong which means she's somewhere out there," he motioned beyond Switch. And, now he looked worried. After all Victoria was smart, but she was still just a kid... a girl in a dress.

Switch listened to Vlad's story, fixing the strap of her messenger bag as he recounted the events that pretty much led to now. Her gaze turned when Vlad motioned behind her, then dug into her pant pockets to find the key to the shop.

"Not necessarily..." Switch started, lightly moving Vlad aside so she could unlock the front door. "Kay stayed at the shop last night...he didn't come home, so maybe he saw her." Sounding hopeful, the doors unlocked and the woman stepped inside, flicking on the lights. There was nobody on the main floor; why would there be? The rooms were upstairs and downstairs. Upstairs was mostly off limits.

Something was out of place on her desk. Wandering over she saw an open phone book, with a page underlining an entry. "Hmm...I guess this belongs to you?" Switch said, motioning to the paper. "I think...My son and your Daughter are in the same place." Sighing, she nodded towards the door that led to the basement...in case Vlad wanted to get ahead.

Vlad was again hopeful as she opened the doors to the shop. He remember Kay, and he seemed to be a good 'boy'. If he had seen her and had let her in... He would have to thank him. He couldn't believe how much of a handful Victoria was.

Following Switch's gaze upon the lights turning on he too saw the open book. He was eager to follow her over to the desk. He was more hopeful now. Especially since there was proof they were together. At least Victoria wasn't alone and in that he knew she was safe.

"Basement," he snorted and looked in the direction she had motioned to. Her sigh couldn't mean anything good... "Just how much trouble could two kids get into it," he didn't realize he had voiced his thought out loud as he headed towards the way to the basement.

As he glanced around he observed that the place didn't look out of order... Something shiny caught his eye, however, there were other matters that were more important.

"Worst case senario? They stay up all night watching TV or playing with Mrrh - Kay's Shrunken Head thing. He bowls with it." Switch made her way into the basement with him, moving ahead of him in the darkness to the only room that was useable...and the lights were off. "It would have been late at night...they were probably tired and fell asleep..." She murmured, turning her back on the dark room...Kay may have been older than Victoria (she somehow doubted Victoria had grown, considering Vlad was still fairly calm about this), and he was an idiot, but he wasn't stupid. He wouldn't have done anything, they really were only just sleeping!

"We should leave them...I'm sure they were up late." The woman suggested, though she stepped aside from the dark doorway. "But...it's entirely up to you, Vlad." Whether or not he woke them up, that is. She was sure whatever was in that room was totally innocent!

Why was Switch so hesitant? Why didn't she want to turn on the lights? She had mentioned a TV... If they were up late and had fallen asleep watching a program shouldn't the TV still be on? His mind filled with more and more questions... So, many that just had to turn on the lights to find out exactly what was going on. Actually, or more the fact that he just had to know his daughter was here, and safe.

"Excuse me," Vlad said as his tail brushed up against Switch. It was completely unintentional. Just a couple steps in the room he flipped on the lights.

There was the TV, and the sofa... and no kids. He looked around the rest of the room. He felt his insides knot up. What if they had left to take her home. He shook his head and refused to loose hope. He glanced at the other side of the room and saw Kay and Victoria asleep on the bed and they were not only extremely close but practically one person... He was happy his daughter was safe, but he had wished he'd found them in a different position.

He took a step back wishing he hadn't turned on the lights... He snorted and closed his eyes trying to relax. His anger was already evident as his fingers became claws.

They COULD have fallen asleep while watching TV, but this TV had a timer on it...not that Vlad knew that. The smaller woman shrank against the wall when he moved past her, startling a bit when his tail brushed her. The light went on in the room, and...wait, he was backing out?! Squeaking, the green eyed woman tried to flatten herself against the wall, her gaze wide and on his claws.

"V-vlad, calm down, please...!" Swallowing hard, the woman slipped forward, peeking into the room and seeing the two on the bed. Kay was in his capris as usual, but it seemed like Victoria had a sheet wrapped around her...and they were awfully close. Moreover, the light hadn't waken Kay...that boy slept like the dead he claimed he could see. Drumming her fingers on her leg, she looked back at Vlad.

"It's cold down here..." She commented idly, still sounding nervous. Sure it looked bad, but it had to be innocent! There was no way Kay would take advantage of a girl so young...she was sure he didn't even know what to do if he even considered it! "There's only a very thin blanket there, and Kay's a walking furnace...she probably just got cold, that's all!" Swallowing hard, she reached out and gently, very gently put her hand on the man's arm. "Calm down...I'm sure there's a reason, Vlad..."

Still breathing rather hard Vlad listened to Switch and her reasoning. She was certianly being more rational with her thinking than he was. Not to mention Victoria was a 'lady' and she knew it.

He thought about the things he and his siblings had done while growing up. He was sure a good bit of it looked compromising and their mother got past it all... Then again she only knew the half of it.

He took another deep breath. A set of red scales covered him but only for a moment. It looked almost like he was shaking them off as they disappeared from head to toe.

He decided it was best to not speak yet. He stood there for a moment. Then he heard it. His ears swiveled. The sound of rustling sheets.

Victoria kept her eyes closed tightly as she half way sat up. It was extremely bright and the light had woken her. She didn't remember a window. She pushed her curls out of her face as she yawned. She wasn't really ready to get up. She had been warm and comfortable. After rubbing the back of her hand across her face she slowly opened her eyes.

"Daddy... Switch," she smiled innocently in a manor only she could and get away with it. Switch- that was Kay's mom. Oh boy... she tried to not look guilty as she nudged Kay to wake up.

The adults talking didn't wake him up, the light didn't wake him up, but Victoria's nudge did. He opened his eye and blinked against the suddenly bright room, sitting up with a tired grumble. Victoria was...talking to someone? Rubbing his eye tiredly, he peeked at the pair in the doorway; It was Vlad, and Na? What were they doing here?

"Oops." Kay said innocently, stretching his arms over his head then looking sleepily over at Victoria. "Too long'ova nap, eh Tori...?" He paused to yawn, wide enough to show his fanged eyeteeth. "Oh but, now we don't gotta worry about callin the wrong number, yeah?" Apparently he didn't realize what a bad predicament this could be at all, and as always he found some ounce of good in it. "Oh yeah, Hi Na, Vlad."

Switch just sighed, nudging Vlad and nodding to the situation as if it proved there was nothing to worry about at all.

"Good Morning."

Victoria yawned when he yawned. She couldn't help it- it was just a catchy sorta thing. She did however do the polite thing and cover her mouth. "Just goes to show you how tired we actually were," she whispered. "And, you're right... We don't have to worry about dialing the wrong number," she giggled.

She knew her dad was over analyzing the situation and she really didn't want to make things worse. However, at the same time she didn't want to stop talking to Kay...

"Morning," her smile remained innocent.

"I suppose," he finally said as he looked over at Switch.

"Thank you Kay... I do appreciate you looking after her. She's a handful at times," there was half a smile on his face, but it was hard to tell it was there.

"Time for the birds and bees," he mumbled and shook his head. He couldn't believe it was that time already- it seemed like just yesterday. His daughter was way to naive, and apparently so was Kay- which was a good thing in the grand scheme of things.

He turned to head back up the stairs. He had himself under control and wanted it to remain that way.

Victoria looked from where her dad last stood to Switch and then Kay. "Birds and Bees? Is he punishing me and making me study extra hard or something..." she chewed on the inside of her lip. "If that's the case... I'm dragging the books over here and making you study them with me," she muttered as she leaned into Kay (not that she realized that, that was what she was doing).

Kay grinned at Vlad. "She certainly is!" He agreed whole heartedly, though he only agreed to tease Victoria...he was unaware how bad that could sound, or why Switch was rolling her eyes. "She almost beat me at bowling. Almost." There was a brief pause, and then... "Birds and bees?" He parroted, watching the other Guardian turn and leave. What was Birds and Bees? It certainly didn't sound interesting at all! A curious stare was turned towards Switch, who was wandering into the room and sitting on the edge of the bed.

"I don't think that's a good idea, Victoria...'studying' this subject with Kay would...probably make your Dad pretty angry." Switch said, unsure of what she should be thinking. She wanted to laugh so loudly for all these too coincidental accidents that made the situation look so wrong, but she also wanted to groan in discomfort for the exact same reason. "It's not a punishment per se it's...more like...letting you know how bad this situation looks. From a Gaurdian's point of view." As she spoke, she saw some semblance of understanding spark in Kay's red eye.

"Oooh." Kay breathed out after a moment, patting Victoria's hand despite staring at his Guardian. "It's like the way you an' Chit share a bed, right?" Switch nodded and Kay made a thoughtful noise, glancing down at the red haired girl that was leaning against him.

Well...this did look pretty bad, now that he thought about it. But that wasn't what was going on!
PostPosted: Tue Mar 30, 2010 1:46 pm

Victoria was very attentive as Switch spoke. She was smart, and probably to much so for her own good. It didn't take her long at all to piece together what birds and bees meant. Wishing that her dad could just be straight forward in these matters made her sigh. She wasn't a toddler, or much of a kid anymore.

"Their time," she muttered more to herself than anyone else in the room when Kay clicked it together and mentioned sharing a bed. She knew all about the personal space and time... Her facial expressions showed through her thought process.

Without a thought as to what she was doing she was straightening her dress, and fluffing her curls. Anything and everything to make herself look proper. To busy in her thoughts once more she'd forgotten all about the people in the room at the moment.

"He pisses me off," she finally said, and she said it rather loudly. She hadn't even realized what she'd said or how bad it probably sounded. "Can't he treat me like an adult," she huffed. "After all my course load is twice the size of any kid that i know off..." she was still spouting off at the mouth without realizing that she was talking instead of thinking now.

Switch just watched the pair, though her attention was more on Victoria than Kay. Especially once she started to talk, anyway. Even Kay startled a bit when she started talking, and focused his attention on her as well. With a chuckle, the young shaman started shifting off of the bed, ruffling his hair to make it even messier if that were possible, but he undid the longer pieces as well, practically making himself a shaggy mess of hair.

"But you're not an adult, Victoria." Switch pointed out, her green gaze slightly narrowed. She understood what Victoria was talking about - she went through something similar when she was younger - but now she knew the adult side of it. "Heavy course load or not...if someone at least Kay's size was determined enough, he could do...whatever he wanted to you." Of course, she shot Kay a glare that pretty much told him what would happen to him if he ever tried that, and the young man responded by taking a half step back, waving his hands once in front of him. "Your Father is worried about you, that's all...Gaia can be a very dangerous place...even for me, and I'm an Adult." Sighing, the woman stood up and went back to the door.

"Come on, let's go check on your Dad...it's probably time you headed home, anyway."
