You don't get my point.
I'm saying that in ninjutsu they don't call it dirty tricks.
They call it a physical means to achieve victory. ^-^

Steer clear if you can. He's one of the more renowned martial artists who exploited the 'ninja boom' about ten+ years back.

What he seems to do is gather up pieces of kung fu that he knows and teaches them as 'ninjitsu'. In chinese names. domokun

Not only that, but he manages to say that he 'has no quarrel with Bujinkan' but says that 'Bujinkan is a fake ninja school by calling themselves ninjutsu as opposed to his own ninjitsu', all in one HTML page. rolleyes

Any idiot that has a Japanese kanji dictionary knows that there is no such thing as 'ninjitsu'. domokun

I might have a splintered shinai lying around, happy to be inserted into this moron's lower orifice...

These kind of people degrade ninjutsu in particular, and martial arts in their entirity.

That's just wrong Kung fu is kungfu not ninjutsu. The chinese martial artists need to destroy him! But there are lots of people running around spreading pseudo ninjutsu like Grandmaster Law.

I practice Aikido, which is based on sword movements, but I'm not developed enough to practice with a real sword yet.

Aikido is not "based" on sword movements.
The founder of aikido just happened to be proficient at Katori Shinto Ryu, the oldest Japanese school of martial arts still existing, and decided to integrate part of in training because he believed it enhanced spirituality and mind.

You will note also, that the aikido-version of the katori shinto ryu sword kata's are a lot softer than they are in the actual katori shinto ryu school.
But that is due to the fact that in the time of the founding of the katori shinto ryu swords in Japan were not the perfect blades they are today.
You will notice that firstly, the swords used are straight instead of curved.
They are therefor much more brittle and were in that time also very heavy and primarily used as a more lethal version of the club. The yari or spear was in that time much more appreciated and useful. In the same time, not the sword but the spear was the symbol of the Japanese swordsmanship.

This was due to the fact that the sword at this time was heavy, short in comparison, brittle and generally used more as a last line of defence for a samurai.
The techniques used in katori shinto ryu are based much more on strength than is necessary with the katana we know today.
Techniques such as placing the sword on the shoulder before lifting it are no longer useful because the swords are half the weight.

All of you find yourself some tameshigiri movies and you'll see what I mean by no force being needed.

Still I believe the katori shinto ryu tradition is a very honorable one and even if outdated it should be preserved as an artform and a national treasure.
