Rocket Agent Seth

Thunderbolt was such a poor choice of TM for Gengar. At least that was Seth's opinion was he watched the battle. However, the elite's expression had gone from stoic to an annoyed frown. Wasn't this over yet?

He had thought the Gengar would have gone down in the first hit, surely the second. But the spikey punk was being stubborn. Persistence was futile in this case.

Again the thunderbolt hit, but the Tyranitar again only recieved minor damage. It was time to end this.

"Tyranitar, finish it off!"

For the third time, the rock pokemon rushed at the ghost with intent to bite down in a savage Crunch attack.

The effect of being bitten was nearly instent. There hadden't been much left for the gengar, it has been sheer stuborn presistence that allowed it to survive the last hit. After beng chopped on, the gengar fainted eyes swirling in it's head.

The grunt saw that it was finally over and returned the ghost pokemon to it's ball in a red light. He simply returned it to his belt, not taking out another pokemon. He had nothing that could fight the Tyranitar at this point. He waited to be yelled at or ordered, hands at his sides.

Skye was in utter shock that Shade had been defeated. He fell to the ground on his bottom as though he has taken the huge blow of Tyranitar's Crunch attack. He started to shack and back away from the sight, closer to Cal. He held on to Cal's boot in a death grip while he hid his face behind her leg. He kept his usually perky ears low and his tail was down behind him. Skye had not seen any fun in this battle, which he felt when he battled Shade.

Cal tried remained calm, but her vivid eyes showed worry. That certainly was an exciting battle. Never had she seen someone so ruthless in battle. When Skye came up to her leg she glanced down at him. What had happened to all that spunk? He must be doubting himself and she surely was doubting their abilities too. She had a lot to learn, but she didn't think that she she would be able to be as coarse as Seth had been. Cal noted what the elite had said and everything he had done. She waited to see what Seth was going to do to Panther, probably lecture him on how weak he was compared to him.

Finally the battle, if you could call it that, was over. Even though it had taken longer than expected, there was a certain satisfaction in watching his Tyranitar beat the pulp out of Panther's Gengar.

The Tyranitar, now devoid of an opponent, turned his sights on the grunt. It reared its head and gave out another roar, but before it could act on its aggressive instincts, the beast was sucked away by a red beam. The dark ball then bounced off the floor and to Seth, who quickly snatched it from the air.

Unfailingly, the elite's stern voice lashed out at Panther. "If I were you, I would take that worthless TM off your Gengar and put something more useful on it. TMs that don't match your Pokemon's type are next to useless. That is unless they're intended for Pokemon you have a type disadvantage against, or are particularly powerful." And Thunderbolt didn't fit that description in Seth's mind. You had to choose your TMs wisely.

The elite then snorted as he placed his Tyranitar's ball on his belt. "That was the most pathetic display I'd seen in a long time. When facing a stronger opponent, you need to disable it then chip away at its HP. If Hypnosis wasn't so incredibly inaccurate, it would have been smart to use it in the first round. Now step aside, I'm tired of looking at you."

It seemed Seth was done with Panther for the moment, because he then looked to the group of gawking Rockets on the sidelines. "Anyone think they can do better?"

The outcome of the battle had been obvious from the very start. Yet, Akemi still admired Panther's Gengar for its perseverance. Even given the type disadvantage, it had held up against the Tyranitar for three turns. That in itself was impressive.

Akemi held onto Shinju, which had been watching the entire battle and now had its ruby-red eyes on the Dark pokémon. It was obviously of a very high level - the fact alone that it was fully evolved proved it - but if Shinju would have to battle it as well at least it would have the type advantage against it. The fact that Shinju nor Fushigi would never fully evolve did create another weakness, however. Still, there was always a chance. Even when you are put at a disadvantage, as long as there's even the slightest chance you can still succeed.

It was quite clear now, however, that everyone in that class still had a lot to learn when it came to working for Team Rocket. A lot of other Rockets the girl had seen did indeed have a very... ruthless battling style. She would have to learn to be more like that, except she didn't want to break the special bond she had with her pokémon.. Therefore she'd have to train until some kind of a compromise was reached.

When Seth talked again, Akemi instinctively clutched Shinju closer. Part of her was tempted to test battling the Elite Agent, but she wasn't sure about the rest of his party - he most likely wouldn't use the Tyranitar again.

Quickly, Panther left the trainer's box and made himself scare, but not with out a quick sulute.

Seth was right, he had blotched it, yet again. Hypnosis first and then... He had to find a fighting TM, not exactly an easy task. Shade had wanted the eletric technic though, convincing him to give it up would be a whole diffrent project. He kept his head down as he joined the other grunts, a slight frown on his face. He'd have to take Shade to the healing room, or get a revive on him soon.

He found himself the wall, and leaned on it arms crossed, and face hard, watching the other grunts with his glasses pushed up, hiding his eyes.

Rin knew better than to volunteer. This class was for those new to pokemon battling, not those capable of taking on the fashionably well-trained team of an elite. Though, the other agent had given it quite the college try.

The ninjitsu-trained agent looked down at the silvery little Nails. His expression was blank at the loss by the ghost-type, shifting studiously to the Dark, monster-like pokemon that had defeated it. There was a look that appeared to be a wicked little grin that seemed to cross his tiny muzzle when the Tyranitar roared at the human. Perhaps he wasn't the only one who disliked most humans. Or maybe he just hadn't met enough other pokemon quite yet.

Rin folded her arms across her chest and tilted her head down, letting a shadow fall over her face, though her eyes still glittered dimly through as if to show she was still paying attention. Her gaze tilted down, though, eyeing her tiny partner in crime.

"It's up to you." She said in such a low voice, it was no more than a soft whisper.

One of the 'vee's ears tilted back at her, before his deep grey eyes followed to look up at her. He stood, fox-like tail swaying. He didn't move forward off of her left boot though. He would wait one more round, wait one more observative battle- and Rin would agree. However, no amount of observation would increase the likelyhood of a win. Not at this obvious experience difference.

It was with great shame to Faleen that she knew the answer to Seth's last question. she perked up a little, wanting to say she could, but she knew way, way better then that. not with a ghost type, and certainly not with just a Shuppet.

She shared a look around the group for a little, wanting to see what the others though of his question, and it only proved that they all had the same answer she did.
She then looked to her Shuppet for a moment, who looked back to her, eyes widening, looking like he suddenly wanted her to do it.
but he wilted when she looked away again, shaking her head in shame, frowning in frustration.
would she have liked to see how far she could go? yes, she would have in a heart beat, knowing she would still lose. but that wasn't the question he had asked.
it was best to let this embarrassment pass, so they can get onto more learning.

glancing back up again to Panther as he walked back to join the group. shifting out of his way, then turning her attention back to Seth.

Where most of the Grunts were sympathetic to the agent known as Panther, the pink haired elite stood there unimpressed. This particular display had been a slaughter, and Kunai did not care. She was observing how the class was run. Currently, it was a session of hands-on humble pie. This was an appropriate method of teaching a class of new recruits. Egos needed to be checked at the door, and in this elite's opinion, Agent Seth was doing an effective job of such.

Her gloved thumb smoothed over the edge of her knife as she waited for the other students to get their portion of humble pie. It seemed nobody was eager to challenge Seth, which was to be expected. However, she figured that Agent Seth would just select another grunt from the masses and use them for display like he had with the first one. It was an effective method, since then you got the point across that You are going to fight whether you volunteer or not.

Seth looked over each of the grunts as there was silence. Observing the expressions and body language of each one. His blue gaze seemingly looking through them as if judging the very core of their souls.

He then snorted. "No? Then I suppose I'll have to pick."

Either he was obscenely cruel, or just outright insane. Or maybe both. Despite it all, there was method to his madness. With these battles he was judging their style and choice of attacks. He got to observe them first hand so he could correct and make better pawns out of them. Team Rocket didn't need a fleet of bumbling idiots after all.

His sights zeroed in on Akemi.

"You."

He jerked his head towards the opposite side of the arena. It seemed that he had chosen his next target.

Akemi swallowed hard as Seth set his eyes on her. Her stomach almost turned over as the girl jerkily walked up to the battle ring, standing at the opposite end of it. She really was in for it now. It wasn't that she didn't trust her pokémon, she just knew that in this situation she'd stand no chance. It didn't matter that her pokémon would have evolved by now when it came to level, just the fact that they wouldn't left them lacking in strength.

The girl pondered which one of her team members she should use, but settled for keeping Shinju out. The Wartortle, oddly enough, didn't seem to share its owner's nervousness and instead stood firmly, waiting for its opponent. It was ready to give its all in battle, no matter what the outcome would be.

Akemi didn't like being the center of attention. Not at all. She was outgoing, but preferred being in the background, so this situation put even more tension on her, and she was trembling slightly as she waited for Seth to release one of his pokémon. With a deep breath, she closed her eyes for just a moment, to calm her nerves. That, and knowing her pokémon trusted her fully, helped. Her purple eyes were fixed on the Elite Agent then, her gloved hands tightening into small fists. She would certainly not give up without a fight.

As Akemi took her place with her Wartortle, Seth scanned the Pokemon with his 'Dex. There was a visible eyetwitch as he looked over the move set on the water type. You have got to be kidding.

Scowling, he looked up at the pair once more before giving an indignant snort and tossing out a regular Pokeball.

What appeared was what looked like the mother of all Typhlosions. A huge female that was dark blue, almost black, down her back rather than the usual dusty cobalt.

Flames roared to life along her neck and a red eye peered at the turtle. However, neither she nor Seth appeared the least be concerned about the type disadvantage. What was he up to?

The fact that Seth chose Typhlosion confused Akemi a little - why deliberately choose a pokémon that had a type disadvantage? The Elite Agent surely knew better, therefore he had to have something up his sleeve. In any case, the girl decided to battle to the best of her abilities.

Shinju took a firm stance in front of the much larger Fire type, then, its ruby eyes fixated on it, waiting for the first battle command.

Akemi saluted Seth very briefly then, and shouted "Shinju, Water Pulse!"
The Wartortle did a backflip, getting a little distance from its opponent, and shot a strong jet of water at high speed towards the Typhlosion. There was a slight chance the move might confuse the other pokémon, but the girl didn't count on it.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 14, 2010 4:37 pm

From the wall, he watched with a frown. The Typhlosion was ovioulsy a high level, but he doubted Seth had a weak pokemon on his team. But was the water type that weak? He took a long hard look at the water pokemon. This fight would not last much longer then his did, if the expresion on Seth's face said anything. Still he wanted to see at least one of Seth's pokemon taken down.

Seth scoffed a little at the Water Pulse, watching as the stream of water struck his Typhlosion. The fire type took a step back and shook its head, before growling lowly and taking that step forward again. Even though the attack was super effective, the Typhlosion's HP didn't suffer a major blow. And from the looks of it, the attack didn't confuse either.

"Now. Watch closely!" Seth's voice rose once again. "If you equip your Pokemon with the right moves, you can still win even at a type disadvantage!"

"Pele, Sunny Day!"

Long ears twitching, the Typhlosion glanced back at her trainer before the flames on her neck grew brighter. The large weasel Pokemon bellowing a roar as the arena was flooded in an intense light. The temperature also rising several degrees.
