"Got it." Gray said. As he was about to maneuver the Savage forward to finish off the enemy suits he felt a rumbling shudder run through the suit, shaking him in his seat. "What the hell was that? The simulation's not supposed to be able to do that." He felt the shudder again, clearly vibrating the Gundam. "Ariel? You feel that?" He asked her. He tapped out a quick sequence on a keyboard and brought up a display of the inside of the hangar. It was on fire. "s**t! Voice Command: End Simulation." He practically yelled. The computer obeyed and his displays all changed to show the interior of the Kerberos MS hangar. There were people in orange and black jumpsuits running towards the three Gundams. They were carrying automatic weapons. There were also several Mobile Suits, also colored orange and black, entering the hangar from where one of the linear catapult hatches had been blown open. "s**t! Ariel, we're gonna have to break free of the docking. We've gotta get those suits out of here before they can do anymore damage." Gray began manipulating controls before he had even finished speaking. The Savage took a step forward, bending, twisting, and breaking free of its docking restraints as it did so. The two panzer shields came around on their arms and locked into their forward position as the thrusters kicked on and sent it rocketing at the invading mobile suits, all ZAKUs. Savage spread its arms out wide as it hit the enemy suits and its impact carried two of them out of the Kerberos hangar and into the much larger hangar of the Gundam Development Teams research base. Once out of the confines of the Gundams Combat Transport Savage twisted its waist cannons up and fired a shot into the cockpit of each ZAKU. Both exploded in a blinding flash. Once the light and dust settled Savage turned back to The Kerberos, only to find that its surface was covered in enemy suits. ZAKUs, Daggers, Astrays, Murasames, Goufs, and even a few Mobius mobile armors hovered on or around the ship, all of them colored orange and black. "Ariel. If you're not to busy in there I could use a hand out here." Gray said as the enemy suits all began opening fire on him.

((Whoa...now? I thought Ariel was supposed to steal the data first?))
"You must have some real half-assed security around here." Ariel's voice came through the com-link as the Caliber appeared behind the Savage. She had acted as quickly as Gray and ended the simulation before switching to full operation. "How the Hell'd they get near without an alarm going off?" The careful controls on her tongue were all but gone now. This was serious, and more so because they were fighting in space without proper suits and she had no idea how much oxygen was actually in the Gundams' tanks directly. Using the Savage's shields she fired from behind it, taking out the joint mobility of several suits with three shots each. But more simply appeared, overwhelming the ship. "There's a whole frickin army! Even with the Gundams how're we supposed fight all this!? Wait. Gray. The only purpose of this base is to develop the gundams right? We've got two...Where's the Barrage?"

((She'll still have time afterward. Not a lot, probably, but some.))
"We weren't supposed to start operations til tomorrow." Gray said as beams began bending around his shields. He didn't dare fire back for fear of hitting the Kerberos. Instead he cranked the verniers to max and rocketed towards the ships surface, dead center into the enemy mobile suits. "Not all of our personnel are on board yet." Savage landed atop the Kerberos' hull and immediately opened fire with its CIWS head mounted vulcans. The enemy suits seemed to be beginning to realize that beam rifles had no effect and were switching to their respective melee weapons. Gray also switched. The Savage reached up and back and drew its oversized beam saber off its back. The beam activated even as he began swinging. The first swing was countered by a set of beam sabers from a pair of Murasames. This immediately pissed Gray off, Murasames were Luna Mobile Suits. Savage's beam cannons pivoted up and took a shot at each. Both suits managed to dodge out of the way, but it gave Gray the room he needed to maneuver. He swung with the saber again, actively switching the shields between rear and side positions to catch incoming beam fire. The second swing tore through a Gouf and Savage walked right through the resulting explosion to get to the suits behind where the doomed mobile suit had been. He opened fire with the cannons again and took out two more suits at the knees before they realized he was coming straight through the smoke and debris. "Wow, These guys suck." Gray said as he blocked a heat hawk and beam saber with his own one handed saber parry. He punched out at the Astray on his right and scored a torso hit. He let the pistons fire and caved in the suits cockpit. A second later the suit exploded and he forced through the ZAKU he was still locked with, overpowering it and cutting it down as it fell back. More beams fired around him, but Gray moved the shields rapidly back and forth between front, sides, and back; protecting the suit from incoming fire. All the while he was aiming and firing with his waist cannons, aiming under the enemy suit's shields for the knees and legs. After they were incapacitated he could wade into them and finish them off at his leisure.

Ariel meanwhile drew the scimitars of the Caliber. Activating the heating core inside each blade she tore back to the ship on Gray's heals, diverging at the last minute to fight her way back into the hanger. The red hot metal cleaved suit armor like wet paper. Ariel avoided dealing lethal blows if she could but her first priority was getting back to the Barrage. "They can't want to destroy the ship or they would have done it by now. They must be after the Gundams." Suddenly a mess of static sounded over the com-link. Ariel adjusted the frequency for the arcaic radio that was trying to patch through.
"Gray...Porter.. ca....ear me?"
Ariel frowned, taking out a mobile suit that had lunged at the Caliber from behind. "Dr. Dascombe?" Things must really be bad she thought, if they were forced to use such a shoddy piece of communication equipment.
"Porter! Are the gundams safe? We've sealed ourselves in the main resear... lab, all the data on... gundams is here. The only thing they can get at are the suits themselves. Listen...you two, if you cannot protect the gundams you...to destroy them. Got that?"
Ariel nodded though she did not know why. "Roger that," she said. "You get all that Gray?" She asked, putting holes in a few on-coming suits with the Caliber's forearm gun. She had a firm grip on the twisted metal of the damaged hanger door. "Let's give 'em Hell!"

Gray manipulated the Savage's controls and maneuvered the suit across the hull of the ship towards the gaping opening that used to be the hatch of the linear catapult. Enemy mobile suits continued to assault him. Savage's shields constantly switched between forward, side, and rear positions to keep the suit covered from beam attacks.
Barrage powered up. Its orange covered ocular receptors lit up with a bright inner light that quickly dimmed to a lower, more steady, inner luminescence. The suit, like the other two Gundams, simply stepped forward and powered its way through its docking restraints.
Savage attacked the suits in its way with its saber, cutting them down as they interrupted its march. When the saber wasn't enough the hip cannons were put to good use, usually to take an enemy suits legs out from under it. When particularly surrounded Savage lashed out with its fists and put the forearm pistons to work. Slashing, blasting, crushing, and bashing its way through the Savage finally came through the hatch into the Kerberos' hangar. Savage's cockpit monitors suddenly showed several picture-in-picture displays. Most of them showed orange and black clad men moving across the hangar. One, on the central monitor, displayed the Barrage, fully powered up. "Excellent timing!" Gray said, opening a channel to the orange colored Gundam. "We could use a hand out there." Savage turned away from the Barrage and began walking menacingly at the automatic weapons toting invaders.
Barrage brought both of its back mounted heavy beam cannons up. It also drew both beam pistols off their docking points on its legs. Taking aim with all four weapons the Barrage opened fire - at the Savage.
Gray noticed out of the corner of his eye a split second before a warning began chirping. He quick manipulated the suit to face towards the Barrage while simultaneously bringing both shields around and slamming them into their forward positions. The brief hail of beam fire bent around the suit as they came within the range of influence of his Geschmeidig Panzer system. The Barrage! Either our pilot is a traitor... or that's one of the terrorists in there piloting it! Gray mulled that over in his mind for a second. Either way... That suit has to be stopped! Savage's verniers kicked in and rocketed it across the hangar. As he neared Gray opened the shields and brought the saber up high. With the shields open the Barrage began taking beam hits about the torso, which scored and blackened the metal. Closing the final gap Savage swung down with its oversized saber, intending to cut down the newly built mobile suit.
Barrage brought both arms up, a solid blade bayonet unfolding from each forearm as it did so. It brought the blades up in a cross maneuver and caught the incoming beam blade between them. One heavily armored foot struck out and hit the Savage directy in the mid torso while pushing suddenly up with both arms. Savage went toppling backwards and landed on its back on the hangar floor. Barrage's verniers kicked on at maximum output and the suit flew out of the hangar. As it did the pilot sent the signal for all troops to withdraw. The enemy suits began rising from the Kerberos, headed towards the gaping opening in the primary hangars outer hatch.

The Caliber's speed really was incredible, Ariel had taken down more suits in that short while than she ever had, but their strategy seemed to compensate for her speed. More and more suits rose to block her way. In the end she saw Gray pass her and opened fire at the suits surrounding him. "At least I made a good decoy..." she muttered. She continued to fight outside the hanger, guarding the Savage's back. It wasn't long at all before a suit burst from the wrecked hanger, and it wasn't the Savage. "Oh no you don't!" Being faster than the other suits now worked well to her advantage. She shot ahead of them and aligned herself with the Barrage, making the Caliber difficult to target without catching the other Gundam as well. She opened fire, aiming again for the joints in the suit, but what little openings there were seemed not to be affected. "This thing's a behemoth of a suit...Hey Gray! How do I fight this thing?" Finally Ariel stopped firing and cranked up the Caliber's thrusters to full. She flew past the Barrage, turning at the last second and drawing her scimitars again, but this time leaving the blades in their casings and activating the beam sabers. Why the heck am I doing this? She thought. It would be better for me if there were less gundams in the hanger...Dascombe made sure the blueprints were safe...that's all I came for... Despite these thoughts however she did not stand down, what was more strange was the feeling that now presented itself in her mind. Ariel was angry. How dare these lowlifes barge in and try to take something right out from under her! Ariel flipped her com-link to match the frequency of the Gundam before her. "You listening Terrorist?" There was an edge in her voice that surprised her. "You sure picked the wrong people to mess with. I suggest you surrender the Gundam and slink back to your hole, save yourself a lot of grief."

The man in the Barrage's cockpit, the terrorist, it's new pilot, switched off the comm connection. He didn't care what the enemy pilot had to say. His response was direct and simple. He oriented his cannons and pistols and opened fire on the blue suit with the beam sabers. He maneuvered the suit upwards as he fired, moving slightly out of line with the blue suit. When he did his allies also began opening fire at her. A pair of them even moved up to hover slightly to either side of the Barrage.
"Dammit!" Gray cursed as he began moving the Savage back to its feet. "b*****d's good." Savage regained its footing and deflected a few shots off its shields from fleeing mobile suits. Gray kicked the verniers into high and blew out of the hangar and into the open air of the larger base hangar. Enemy suits immediately began opening fire at him, though it was pointless as the shots all simply bent away. He responded in kind and began taking out enemy suits with shots from his waist cannons. He spotted the Barrage and the Caliber facing off across the space. Ariel looked quite outnumbered. It didn't really seem fair. He'd have to fix that. Savage began opening fire on those suits closer to Caliber, even as they were retreating out of the blasted hole in the hangars outer hatch, which led to open space. Verniers on high again Savage began rocketing towards the Barrage once again.

The Caliber's thrusters burnt on full power as soon as the Barrage moved, Ariel had half expected him to use guns first. No one really stuck to the old fashion combat conduct anymore... As a result she avoided most of the fire from the Gundam, using her arm shield to deflect the fire of the Zakus. A set of explosions told her that Gray was back on the field. She grinned and took off after the Barrage. Weaving through a rain of fire the Caliber raced towards its target. If any suit got too close it received a full dose of the Caliber's beam sabers. "If you think its gonna be that easy you've got another thing coming pal..." When she was close Ariel took the Caliber higher, coming down behind the enemy Gundam and onto it's right shoulder, aiming to drive the short saber down through the joint in its armor.

The Barrage did not even bother to cease its flight towards open space. The pair of Astrays escorting the Gundam brought their beam swords in to intercept the Caliber's. The Barrage simply lowered and crossed both arms, pointing its pistols underneath the opposite shoulders. The beam cannons on its backpack swiveled around, so they were aiming backwards. All four weapons again oriented on the Caliber and began opening fire. While the Barrage began its namesake action several Zakus, Daggers, and Astrays also began opening fire at the Caliber and the oncoming Savage. Murasames flew in at high speed and transformed from flight mode to mobile suit mode upon arrival to provide close combat cover.
As Gray attempted to close the distance between himself and the Barrage he received a hailstorm of beam fire in response. He kept his shields in the front position, intercepting and deflecting the beams. Because of that, though, he had no opportunity to open the shields and utilize his beam saber. An unfortunate design flaw in the shields was that, while in the forward position, they enclosed the entire front and sides of the suit, pinning the Gundam's arms to its sides. This provided the suit with nearly impenetrable defense against beam fire, but left it unable to respond with melee force. Gray utilized the only option available to him and opened fire with his waist cannons, which swiveled up into the cutouts in the shields designed solely for them. The blasts were mostly fired in concert, aiming for a mobile suits chest and legs simultaneoulsy, forcing the enemy to choose to guard one over the other, then finishing off the suit while it was thrown off balance. He was making good headway through the enemy suits, their numbers, while daunting, were still finite, and rapidly diminishing. Their interference, though, was buying the Barrage precious time and distance in its escape towards open space. At the rate that he was going Gray didn't honestly think that he'd catch it in time. But he was going to try his damnedest nonetheless.

The Caliber at the last minute twisted the saber to cleave the Astray's hand clean off at the wrist. Ariel grabbed the saber hand of the other astray and yanked it in front of her to shield the Caliber form the majority of the Barrage's fire. "This guy's nuts! Firing with the target that close to him." Any normal suit would have been damaged by the debris, fortunately the Caliber's armor, light though it was held up under the explosion, the force threw Ariel violently back in her seat. Her head hit a side panel and she felt a cold trickle through her hair. She only hoped the force of the explosion phased the Barrage's pilot as well. Using the Caliber's speed she closed the distance between her and the enemy Gundam. Close combat would prevent his lackeys from firing. "Stop hiding behind your guns, b*****d!" The Caliber brought both its beam sabers forward in a lunge, fainting and twisting to the right, bringing one blade up and one across to slash at the Barrage's waist.

Barrage's new pilot did not panic in the face of this onslaught. He was an expert, a professional, and he knew what to do. Barrage's arms moved as both armor schneiders flipped out of their concealing sheaths within the suits forearms. He positioned the arms and moved them out so that the beam resistant blades would intercept the beam sabers of the enemy suit. Simultaneously Barrage's faceplate, the mouthpiece as it were, split open vertically and swung open on hidden hinges. This revealed the suits concealed Zorn Cannon. A short range, but high powered, miniature positron cannon. He began the charge and prepared to fire the weapon in the face of the enemy Gundam.

Ariel cursed at the Barrage's block, she just wasn't skilled enough to bring the Caliber to its full potential. "A stale mate..perfect." Her eyes widened as she saw the hidden cannon. If she broke away she would be a sitting duck for the other suits. No choice. The Caliber brought both feet up and planted a hard kick on the Barrage's chest. Using the momentum and the Caliber's thrusters she flew backwards, bracing her suit for the cannon's blast. That would come before the other enemies opened fire.

At the last second, when it seemed the zorn would fire at the Caliber, the Barage tilted it's head deliberately upward, grazing a support rafter instead. The Barrage then quickly thrusted backwards towards the large opening and open space during the brief reprieve from the Caliber's assault.
