Lazarus let out a soft sigh of relief when Xiu told him he was not hurt, although he wasn't sure if what Xiu was saying was completely true. He might not be physically hurt, but he was emotionally disturbed, that much Lazarus knew as he noticed that the Frei was avoiding direct eye contact. It was not Xiu's fault though, Lazarus should be taking all the blame. If he had not lost himself again, this wouldn't had happened.
"Alright." Having calmed down now from his fluster, he just nodded and closed his eyes sadly when Xiu suggested that they return to the Lab. There really isn't much they could do right now, what with the awkward situation that he had got themselves into.
Lazarus waited for Xiu to get up first before following behind him, keeping a certain distance behind the Frei all along the trip back to the Lab. Although there was a lot of activity and people buzzing all along the Market Street area, the journey for the both of the Raevans were very quiet and secluded, standing out oddly from the crowd of bustling human surrounding them. They did not speak a word in the entire journey, Lazarus just floated a few feet behind Xiu, where the Frei had his back to him all the while. He swore that Xiu wanted to turn around a few times, but he never really did, and that made the Sigel felt worse.
It wasn't long before they reached the Lab again. Lazarus took a glance towards the clock in the lobby through a window, noticing that almost an hour had passed since Xiu's arrival. Which meant Hazeline should be here anytime soon. For the first time today, he did not mind so much to meet Hazeline. Although he was sure that she would be even more furious with him if she knew what he did to Xiu in the park just now. Momentarily he wondered if Xiu would tell Hazeline about it, but disregarded the idea soon as Xiu stopped in front of the Lab doors.
"S-so, I guess this is goodbye..." There was a hint of a question and finality in his tone, he wasn't very sure why. Maybe he thought this would be the last time Xiu would hang out with him, or maybe it was something else more to it?

The tension between the two raevans seemed to have lessened considerably for now and Xiu was glad. Giving his own small sigh of relief, the white frei nodded and got off the park bench. Lazarus did the same but to Xiu’s surprise and disappointment, the Sigel made no attempt to draw alongside him throughout their journey back to the lab. Twice the frei had slowed down to what could have almost been a complete stop but still the Sigel had refused to come forward; refused to float alongside him as a friend. Despite wanting to, the frei simply could not bring himself to turn around. To see what had become of the Sigel…
Oh, Lazarus was there alright. Xiu could feel the other’s presence never more than a few feet apart radiating apology and somewhere within the frei’s partially formed chest; it hurts…
Their journey back to the lab seemed to have taken no time at all and like Lazarus, Xiu found himself glancing at the lobby’s clock upon entry. This was good. The hour was almost up and Hazeline would be due to arrive soon.
"S-so, I guess this is goodbye..."
Xiu turned to face the Sigel quietly. The words the Sigel had spoken, they had a much deeper meaning than what was said on the surface; the frei could see that and it made him pause to think before replying.
“Yes…I suppose this is…,” said the frei slowly as his right arm nervously sneaked over to grip his left. Giving his wings a couple of flicks, the frei then continued… “For now anyway… see you later, Lazarus,”
