Jeff ran a hand through his hair and chewed his lip a minute thinking. Should he tell him? Might as well. He took a deep breath and looked at Eric. "I found my girlfriends raped and beaten to death in my bathroom. I was a cop then to, and the person who had done it was a convict who had just goten out of jail. I put him there and he held a grunge against me. He got his revenge." He said softly. "After that I find it hard to see things like this......I always see loras face in the victims..but thats what keeps me going...to catch the bad people who do this" he said. As he spoke his eyes were far away but upon finishing they returned to eric with a sad smile.

Sam nodded and called his kids first. He caled their nabor telling her what happened and to hold on to lexi for them, he had to go to the hospital. He called Gary who had little to say but could be heard trying not to cry. After that he called rachel letting her know to. There was yelling being heard. She blamed sam for it just as Eric had done. He yelled back at her telling her to shut up and stay at their nabors for now..they would talk later.

But the worst call was his wif who was out of town. She had cared for her kids loved them but she was terrified of sam so she left the kids with him and went gambling whenever she could. At the news of her daughters death a loud wail was heard from the phone. She said she would be there tomarrow afternoon through sobs and tears. Casino music was heard in the background, so of course it would take her a while to get home. Sam hung up the phone the hole thing taking about 35 minutes. He sighed running a stressed hand through his hair.

Amy was still standing staring sadly at her body as the time passed. She didn't leave she didn't blink she didn;t talk. Though tears driped down her face. They could be heard falling to the floor like a faucet left on. Water would be found later on the floor but not now. The fact that she was dead was hard to get through to her though it was so obviouse it was painfull. She didn't know what to do, and she couldn't seem to bring herself to leave.

Eric reached up and touched his face. "Lora was her name?" he asked quietly. He wanted to flinch at the scenes his words were forming, but he didn't, he just kept a soothing aura about him. On the streets, he'd seen that type of thing before. But it was impersonal, the cops mostly didn't care because prostitutes were criminals anyway. Whores knew the dangers, this girl hadn't known. At least, at least Amy wasn't forced. "Does it feel like she's still with you?" He wondered aloud, remembering Amy's voice. Would he kept that sensation? Maybe it was just her spirit watching over him or some Hallmark crap like that. It was a pleasant thought among so many ugly ones. Considering his father's choice of work, Eric had always been taught to avoid policemen, but he trusted Jeff, even though he'd read enough to know it was probably mostly an act.

Alfred gave him space, almost disappearing into the background as the calls happened. He noted each child's name, listening to their reactions. All of the children seemed to be close to their sibling. He would have thought the loud casino music would conceal the wife's words, but her wails probably could have been heard by Jeff. Jeez. Women can be dramatic. That's why he never could predict how they'd react. During that time, he signaled to Jeff to call in the CSI team and another squad car so they could leave without losing anything.

The officer turned to Sam as soon as the phone reached its cradle. "Do you have a friend you'd like to come meet you?" He actually said it kindly, the wife's crying taking a bit of the harshness out of him.

(sorry is going to be kind of short)

Jeff looked at eric curiousity in his face. He leaned away from his hand pain obviouse in his eyes. "Sometimes" he answered. He got the sygnal from alfred and stood up taking his phone out. He left Eric in the car and walked a few feet away from him calling the cis and giving them the information they needed. He pushed away what he had just told eric. This job wasn't about himself.

Sam shook his head. He had know friends that would set foot in a mile raidus of a police station. "No I don't."..he said honestly.

((It's good enough for me.))

For some reason Eric had this desperate need to get moving. He felt like someone was waiting for him, but he couldn't tell who or why. Probably, it was just his desire to go back to his boyfriend's arms and just cry. Yeah, it was probably something selfish like that. He sat back in the seat, wishing he had something to do while he waited. He was desperately trying to get Amy's crumpled body out of his mind. A piece of paper to doodle on would be good enough. Since the policeman didn't seem to be paying attention to him, he pulled his knees up, wrapping his arms around his legs. There he sat, curled up, waiting.

Alfred nodded. "You're son's here at least." He started leading the way to the exit. "Come let's try to get this over as soon as possible." He patted his back in an affectionate guy way, and continued outside just as a second squad car pulled up. Thank god for having such a large force. He nodded to the other officers, and went over to them to fill them in.

Jeff hung up his phone and went over t with Alfred to help explain to the C.I.S. what was going on. He glanced at the car occasionaly but kept his attention focused on giving a report.

Sam walked over to the police car and never thought that he would end up in the back of a cop car like this. He got in on the opposite side his son was on, and stared out the window not saying anything. And obviouse threat lingered in the air between them. A natural disliking.

Amy thought about her brouther wishing he would come find her...come talk to her maybe. She was so tired of being alone and not being able to go anywhere. She wiped away her tears unaware of the ones that dripped onto the floor.

((I'm sorry--my internet rebels occasionally. After a couple of sacrifices, I've gotten it under control again, and hopefully it won't act up again...))

Eric refused the temptation to press against the side of the door. He'd been on his own for years now. He could survive this. Hell, on the streets, he'd seen and experienced a lot worse than him. It was just a few minutes--no, moments alone with his dad. And he couldn't do anything, if he did, the cops would find out. It wasn't the seventies anymore. Child abuse was taken very seriously. He contemplated just getting out of the car, in a smooth, nonchalant way, but decided against it. Even with all those drugs he took, his father wasn't an idiot. Besides, he sold more than he used. So, other than occasional glances in his direction, he tried to ignore him, and think of Amy. What if their roles were switched? What would she do? The only response he could think of was 'everything right,' but he wasn't sure how much of that was true or his despair.

After he and Jeff explained the situation, Alfred glanced at his partner, nodding, before heading back to their squad car. He didn't want to leave that monster beside his prey for too long, or else he'd have a problem. Getting behind the wheel, he let his gaze travel over the two. Somehow he said a lot without moving his lips. Then he started the car.

((I'm sorry for sort of hurrying forward. I just felt guilty that your character wasn't doing anything but suffering, and I was worried that you were getting bored...))

((Small time skips are glorious. Don't you wish you could have them in real life? Or do you want me to change my post. I'm fairly flexible, I don't mind either one.))

(no your post is just fine^^ and aya for beautiful time skips ^^)

They made it to the police station, and the cops led sam and Eric to a bench to sit down. There were two benches so they could sit apart if they wanted to. Alfred had went to go fill in papers, so jeff stayed behind with the two.

Jeff ran a hand through his hair and looked at the two. He knew this case was going to be difficult from the beggining. He wished he knew what else to say. He decided to be honest.

"I'm going to be honest with you alright, They are going to want to perform an autopsy. We know she fell on the car, and that apears to be how she died, but there is a possability that she was dead before she fell. She may have been drugged" here he stopped to look at Sam. "Or something along those lines." He said looking between the two.

Sam listened to the man only half. He really disliked being here, and some of these cops knew him. He could tell by some of the looks that he was getting, that they did. He worked on avoiding eye contatct, and paying attention to everything else. He heard something about an autopsy but didn't care, its not like he had druged her or killed her. The little freak probably killed herself.

"The little freak probably killed herself" he muttered underneath his breath. Despite what Alfred had said about the murder.

Amy was standing in the police station with Eric and her Father as jeff talked to them. She was drawn here and she didn't know why until she saw eric. He looked so helpless and sad. She wished she could hug him, let him know it would be alright. But she didn't know that herself. She had no idea what was going on. At the sound of an autopsy her eyes grew wide, and she yelled out angrily.

"NO!" she knew she would be able to feel them cutting her skin, moving around he rorgans and things. She didn't think she could take that. She looked panicked and wished desperatly someone could see her.

It'd been years since Eric had been this tense. Just sitting beside his father made his skin crawl, and immediately he opted for the second bench, to try to lessen the effect. He paid complete attention to everything Jeff was saying, and he nodded. "Anything to help. What about what we talked about before?" He hinted because he was scared of his father, and didn't want his wrath again.

His head flicked in the direction of Sam when he thought he heard his muttering, but he just shook his head and looked back. The b****** didn't matter. Amy didn't kill herself, he was sure. She'd promised to come see him, and if she was planning suicide, she wouldn't have. Plus, she'd never leave the brats to her father's torture.

Once again he heard Amy's scream. This time he jerked, looking around wildly. He felt almost sure she was here. But how, he wasn't sure. And what she was screaming no about he was definitely confused. Still, more pale than he'd been before, he stood and asked Jeff if he could use the bathroom. Jeff figured he wanted to puke, so he pointed it out and let him go. Eric hurried into the room, and glanced around to make sure it was empty. Aloud he called, "Amy?" sure, he might have been going insane, but maybe she was there, a ghost or some s**t. If that was the case, then she'd come...right?

Jeff nodded at Eric and was just about to take him somewhere else so that they could talk when Eric jerked slightly. He looked pale and almost sick. Jeff looked at him worriedly and dismissed him to the restroom when he asked. He thought about following him, but didn't want to leave sam here alone.

Sam watched his son jerk and then leave to go to the bathroom. He was probably going loopy. He sighed and tried to hide the chuckle wanting to force itself from his lips. He looked at the cop. "Exactly what did you to talk about erlier?" he asked roughly.

Amy follwed after Eric when he left. She knew he had heard her. Her aparence was kind of shocking She looked so pale and hollow...and hurting. She stood in front of him tence and unsure.

((I was thinking that once she actually makes herself known to him, he'd see her, what do you think? Plus, do you want me to play Jeff while he talks to Sam?))

((I didn't mean to make you change it. I was just thinking. Sorry... And out of curiosity, does she have the wounds from the murder?))

Eric's knees gave out when he saw his sister standing in front of him. "Oh god..." Sliding to the floor, he stared at her pale, pained figure. "Why?" The only way Jeff had comforted him was by reminding him she was free of pain, of their father. But now, that obviously wasn't the case.

Jeff blinked at Sam, a smile crossing his lips, "Oh nothing that I'm sure you don't know about." He gave a carefree shrug, but there was a touch of cockiness to it. "Don't worry about that right now, okay?" You'll find out soon enough, he added silently.

(uhm....ill leave the wounds up to you lol)

Amy bit her lip and took a step closer to him. Her first instinct to him sliding to the ground was to comfort him. The lights flickered softly as she unknowingly drew energy from them. She looked worried. She didn't want him to be afraid of her. She needed him, and she needed his help.

"Eric?" she whimpered.

Sams eyes narrowed at the cop. What had his son told him? Ugh he was probably going to get busted for abuse or drugs or something. He gritted his teeth but remained silent awaiting for whatever questioning he was supposed to get now.
