Aeryn shook her head. "I don't want you to go Relic. I have, never felt this way to a person before and I don't want to lose this feeling." She sighed shakily and she tried to hold in tears. "I can't lose you."
Ilasis came down the stairs and walked up to Relic, looking at him up and down. When she realized that Aeryn was there she looked at her and her eyes went wide. "What did you do Relic?"

" I did what was needed. Asa has spoken to her and cleared her to join the pack." Relic met his cousins gaze, though it was done gently.. he never grew angry at Ilasis. wordlessly he seemed to be asking Dont argue, please just help me in this.. turning back to Aeryn he placed his clawed hands on her shoulders, saying soothingly. " Cara, this is the change talking. i will be fine, its just a recon mission." he glanced at Ilasis, saying softly. " we need to talk.. Aeryn, just wait here a bit alright?"instead of waiting for a answer he stalked down the exit tunne, giveing Ilasis time to fallow.

Ilasis put her hand on Aeryn's cheek and smiled. "Don't worry sweetie, you and I will find something to do." Ilasis followed Relic and glared at the back of his head. After they were far enough so Aeryn wouldn't hear them even with her new ears she hit his arm. "What was the case this time Relic? Did you feel guilty that she couldn't protect herself and change her? And making her cry won't help with you leaving her behind. Did you tell her everything else too while you were at it?" She was mad, worried, and was in a fighting mood as it was.

His ears pinned back and the fur on his tail bristled, but he didtn attempt to argue back.. his voice hallow as he explained quietly. " Hunters cut her lungs up through her ribs. Asa is in a delicate set of mind as it is, and as foolish as it was i let my affection for her get the best of me." finally he looked at her, meeting her gaze with pained.. yet determind teal eyes. " I am not returning for a while, Ilasis. This is the change talking right now, if i am gone long enough.. she will get over these emotions for me and heal properly." of course.. he wouldnt do either, but this wasnt about him. he had no right to be possesive of Aeryn, in truth he shouldnt have let that obsession start the night he found her. when he looked back again his eyes were dark teal, emotionless and dead as his voice grew calm. " This is needed.. dont argue, just understand.. i need to go."

"Relic. She knew from the moment she woke up I wasn't the one who found her. She has had hopes that it was someone else. She has never really seen you, and already had that bonding scent all over her. I will not stop you from leaving, far from it, but she won't stop feeling the way she does right now. If you haven't noticed her Jackal side has been pushing to tell you things already." She crossed her arms and looked back down the tunnel. "You have to tell her goodbye, you at least owe her that."

He froze at her words, visibly tenseing as if afraid she was lieing to him. " she.. Aeryn..?" Turning to look at her he opened his mouth as if to ask a question, but no sound escaped him.. a whistle and a thunk sounding from behind him. the dart was small and smooth, diging into his shoulder and revealing barbs as he ripped it out. a voice behind him called out. " Here doggy doggy doggy.. time to play." it was him.. the b*****d that killed his little sisters.. Letting out a savage howl Relic turned and charged for the dark street across from the tunnel, his voice too harsh to be human as he howled again. " Conner...!"
he didnt make it far.. the trank knocking him out cold in a few short steps. A man droped down next to him, lifting the jackal and tossing it over his shoulder easily. Conner glanced back at Ilasis.. fangs flashing as he grinned and winked once, then both he and Relic were gone.
( sorry luv, drama must be done. Relic is going to be torchered and changed... He'll need Ilasis and Aeryn to find him again.)

Ilasis howled and ran up to Aeryn. "We need Asa! Now!" She grabbed Aeryn by the wrist and quickly dragged her up and to Asa's room.

Riley ignored the guards as they tried to direct her to Asa, her attention focused on the boy as she shoved her room door open and laid him down on her bed. shiny bobbles and odd figures decorated the room, the walls cave like with small gemstones carved into them.. and everything was covered with a thin layer of dust. shaking the blankets off she put them over Erik, cast a protection circle around the bed, then took up post by the door to wait.
Yuri Waited in the shop area with Dana, sitting on the counter as she kicked her feet nervously. " Aunt Ri was biting her lip, that isnt good.." looking up at her mother she asked worriedly. " He wont die will he?"

Dana smiled softly and kissed Yuri on the forehead. "Not if your grandmother can help it. She is a very strong healer." She sat next to Yuri and watched everything around her, still worried someone will come and take Yuri from her again.
Phantom pushed and shoved through the crouds, finally getting to Dana. "Sorry it took so long. Had to get away from Viktor's castle." She looked at Yuri and almost fell over. "Who's this little cutie?"
"Mother, is is your grand daughter Yuri. She is my daughter, and Quin's." Dana almost shuddered but didn't. "I will explain later. Come in here and help us will you?"
Phantom nodded and smiled at Yuri. "Lets get this boy better shall we?" She walked into the room, not paying attention to Riley as she looked the boy over and shook her head. "This is going to take some time, but he will live. When I get all the glass out you have to take it far away from here alright?" Phantom quickly got to work, first having her hands hover over Erik and having the glass pull themselves out of his skin. She kept a soothing control over his mind so he wouldn't feel much pain as that happened. The glass floated over into a bowl. She then pulled a chair over and then kept a hand on the boy's shoulder to speed the healing process. "Now comes the boring part."

Quin stepped quietly through the door, glancing at Riley before he came to the side of the bed. he wasnt shocked to find the boy awake.. but it bugged him how blank his gaze was as he looked at the ceiling. In little better shape than the boy Quin sat on the edge of the bed, nodding to Phantom before he looked at the boy again. " Risky thing you did. regret it?"
Erik didnt stir, his half closed gaze fixed on the ceiling.. as if looking for the right words in the stone above him. finally he closed his eyes, his expression blank. " Dont know the meaning of the word." he mused blandly, his eyes snapping open as his two shadows lept onto the opposite side of the bed. " Kara! Korin!" the two nuzzled his hand affectionatly, the smaller one chattering as she curled up against his side.
It was the first display of emotion the boy had shown.. and it made Quin pause in amusement. " Kara..? Korin..?" Phantoms child and Quin's adoptive father?
Instently defensive Erik tried to sit up, his arm curling around Korins shoulders as the beast eyed Quin carfully. " Got a problum, pops? so i like those names, they chose them."

Phantom glared at the boy and pressed on his shoulder. "You may be like Quin boy, but even that old fart needs help. Now lay your a** down before I tie it down so I can get you better enough for your healing to start kicking in." She looked over at Quin and smiled softly, her expression softening. "Speaking of the old fart, how are you doing? I assume that you will be a hot head and not let me help you either?" She chuckled and turned her head back to the boy. "When I'm done with him thief, I want to talk to you. Alone."

Korin hissed darkly, Erik going ridgid as she tried to push him down. he didnt budge, his murky golden gaze resting on Phantom with sheer coldness. " dont even try it." he would react violently if bound.. and he didnt try to hide that fact. he had all of Quins raw power, plus the portion Zo had forced into him.. all he lacked was the humanity that kept Quin from useing it. knowing the glass was all out he pulled away from the healer, standing and pulling on the clean shirt Kara had brought him. " Thanks, but im all better. Later."
" I would like nothing else, Phantom." Quin folded his arms across his chest, stepping into the door way with a scowl on his face. " And where will you go, boy?" he figured that, though their energy canceled each others out.. he was the stronger of the two. " I ment what i said before, Your stuck with us now.. getting gone is not a option."
Quite to the shock of the Thief.. Erik pushed him aside easily, his bed head hair hiding his expression as he let his energy cover him like a shield. " Im not one of you, never asked to be. I'll find money to pay for the healing, and then we are done with each other." he had no use for these people.. attachment was a weakness, the wilds were the only safe places left to him.

Phantom growled and grabbed the boy by the arm, surprisingly gentally. "Listen boy, where would you go? After a while the forest will get boring, just me in that. Then roaming the world gets old fast, because no matter where you go it will be the same. At least here you would have a life. Getting attached to anyone doesn't have to happen. They might get attached to you, but you can always be who you are and not be anywhere near them. You would have a roof over your head and food to eat. I ask you to take the offer, not to make you look bad or needed really, but it would be safe for you and a good place to go when you don't have anywhere else to go." Phantom let the boy's arm go and stepped back. "But it is your choice." Phantom looked at Quin and sighed. "I don't know what to do about children anymore. Kara is pregnant again, with a little girl this time. I don't know how she is going to take care of this one with Greg gone for work. And I wanted to thank you for saving her a long time ago at the church." Phantom crossed her arms and started to pace a bit.

" sadly, you have no say in it." Quin added, his gaze hard as he looked the boy over. " like it or not we are blood related, so that puts you on the team. Now you can accept Phantoms offer, or get lost." Harshness was the only thing this boy understood.. then Quin would be just that.
Oddly enough.. Erik smiled slightly as he pushed the hair out of his eyes. " I'll think about it." for now.. he just wanted to look around, without someone hovering over his head. placing a hand on Kara's back he left, winking at Yuri as he passed.
When the boy had left Quin sank onto the bed, sighing as he shoved a hand through his hair. " How the hell did Riley put up with me at that age? Im about ready to kill the boy, and he is just like me." shaking his head he pulled his shirt off, murmering tiredly. " Care to get this glass out? You know i would never let anything happen to Kara.. just as you know that if i was aware of Dana's parentage, i wouldnt have touched her." He may be a rank b*****d from time to time.. but Phantom was as near family as Riley was to him.

Phantom sat down in front of him and kept a hand on his knee while healing and taking the glass out of Quin. "I don't blame you for that. I hope it will make her better person then her father." Phantom sighed and looked at Quin. "What do I do about them Quin? I can't control them anymore and they won't stop having babies and this isn't the best world for babies. not with the war my mother wants to start."
