Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Rhine slithers in, and stands up on hind legs. Taking both paws he puts a piece of paper on the tack board. Then he leans forward with the pin in his mouth and pins it up. Yellowish-Greenish Dragon seeks female dragon friend. Is lazy, but extremely friendly once you get to know me. Lives with lots of sisters, so cooties don't scare me. Nothing mushy please... Lives on large island offering many exciting play dates. Please PM my Mommy if interested.P.S: Miss Sunny I need to speak to you about this Itchy Problem I have... He then drops back down onto all fours. He smiled to himself proud, and then slithered out.

Itch Attack Part 6: Sunny's Advice Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Rhine found a nice warm place in front of a window, and stretched out. Then he curled up, and feel asleep. Sundragyn Sunny came back from her lunch, whistling contentedly, and came into the waiting room to discover Rhine, apparently sleeping contentedly. Surprising. "Well, hello there." Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Hearing the distant voice of Sunny started Rhine a bit, having remembered that he was last left alone in the shop. With one eye open, then two, the slumbering dragon woke. He then wiggled a couple back claws, then the front ones. He was overly large for his medium build body. But adorable all the same as he came to rest upright on his hind legs. His neck cranked forward to better see Sunny as his vision was still that of dreams. With a loud yawn from deep within he managed. "Y...our F...ianlly H...ere." He yawned again. "I..." He caught himself in another yawn. "Some questions for you. Do you have the time?" He was well spoken, but slow. Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Rhine gave a horrid, mean snort. "The B..." He caught himself before he said it. He had after all just left from seeing GraMa, and didn't want to return home to a mother who understood little about dragons. "I h..." Again he caught himself. "She displeases me most. She doesn't understand anything." Rhine looked away with a frown. "I've got this terrible itch, and it just won't go away. She is of no help to me." He bit his tongue, and with a hard gulp he managed something nice to say. "She does try, but..." He stopped, and watched Sunny. Will she be just as hard on me as well... He thought. Sundragyn "Itchy?" Sunny bent down to look more closely at Rhine's scales. "You're not shedding, by any chance, are you? You're getting pretty big..." She sighed. "You have to forgive your mother, I think. I'm sure she's doing her best." Kawaii_Hime_Ceres "I shed what looked like a full sheet of scales a week or so ago." Rhine sighed, slowly calming down. "However, I've always been this way... Itchy. Lately it is getting worse though." He was now almost to the point of tears. "Tinker's made a point to keep a bottle of lotion in my room. She's most nice to help me, so is my mom." With his and Sunny's words of his mom waves of regret started to wash over him. "I shouldn't be so mean to her. But..." He sighed. "Not to mention my fins, or what ever they are called just won't stay up. They lean over. Makes me wobble something terrible. If I could just control them, I could swim better. Will I get use to them." He looked to Sunny with wide eyes that had streaks of red. Sundragyn "'Scuze me a minute, Rhine." Sunny gently put a hand to Rhine's back, and she gave a small whistle. "You really are taking after your father, my dear. Some oceanics get like this. Not all. Some." She smiled. "It's nothing serious. While I'm sure you're going through a bit of growth spurt anyway, I think a lot of it is just a need for water. Go swimming more, use lotion when you can't." She ran a hand over his fins, and straightened. "You'll get used to them. I know, it seems like you never will, but eventually, yes." Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Rhine small, his eyes closed slowly as she touched him. He loved this, and it showed as he gave that deep growl like purr that his sister Aurora had taught him. An eye opened. "Will I ever meet my father?" He paused. "I thought my pendant was supose to help my skin? I guess nothing can replace a good old dip in the lake." He smiled, and streatched out a bit. Loving the sound of a good excuse to get out of the house, away from the girls. "I supose your right about getting use them." He looked up, and nuzzled Sunny. "Thank You!" He paused. "Maybe I should get home before mom worries about me... I am sure she still thinks I am in the Grove." He streatched, and began to move on towards the door, regreting having to move away from the hand he was enjoying. He then turned his head. "By the way, Sunny..." He paused, with a blush. "Do you consider me fluffy or fat?" Sundragyn "I don't think you'll ever meet your father, or your biological mother." Sunny grimaced. "It's just kind of the way things are, here. I'm sorry." She grinned after him, and then burst out laughing at his question. "Fluffy? No. Fat? No. You're... comfortably curvy. And there's nothing wrong with that at all." Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Rhine smiled, and then again went for the door. "Thank You Sunny. I promise to drop by again soon, rather than later." He closed the door behind him with his tail.

Itch Attack Part 7: Return Home It was almost lunch time when he returned home again. He had been gone since the previous evening. Much had happened since then, had he had much to think about. But, first he had to deal with his mother again. The door clicked shut behind him. Ceres followed the sound, and shortly emerged from down the hall. She fell to her knees, tears in her eyes, and hugged him tightly. "I love you so much! I'm so sorry..." This unusual welcome home found him lost for words. Tears in his eyes. "I am so sorry mom. I shouldn't have said what I said. I should have never..." He choked on his words, as he cried. "You don't have to say anything. I am just glad you are home." Ceres smiled. "Don't you want to know where I've been?" Rhine asked. Ceres shook her head. "We can leave that for later." Ceres smiled. "For now I think you need a hot meal, and a nap." Rhine sniffed back his tears, and smiled loving those ideas. "Thank You!" Tinker was peering around the corner, seeing them happy she emerged. "Welcome home!" Rhine smiled at Tinker. "I have something for you." Tinker smiled, and held out a small lock box. Designed with you in mind, and speaking of which only you can open it." Tinker paused. "As promised!" Rhine begain to give his growl like purr. "Thank You so much." His smile was large toward both his mother, and toward Tinker.

Rhine's Diary Entry 2 Dear Diary, It all started yesterday... I got into one of my itchy fits. This rolled into an argument with my mom. Major blow up. It lead to me storming out of the house. I went and did something I should have never done, or at least not now. I went into the Grove by myself because I wanted to see GraMa. That Grove is pretty wicked, kind of like a twisted reality. A little over half way through Connor came to get me. By then I didn't want his help. That grove taught me something in the evening hours... It taught me that I need to calm down, and think things twice. Also that I cannot rely on everything to be done for me. Anyways, it was a really quick visit with GraMa. She didn't seem to disapprove, or approve. However, she did seem to give some good advice. She told me to go seek my origin. So, she opened me a portal, and soon I was in the Children of Last Home Adoption Centre. I was napping on the rug when Sunny returned from lunch. I told her what was up. She helped remind me that my mom does try. Also that I take after my dad. Firstly, she said that I'll never meet either parent, but that is okay. Anyways, she said my problem is that I need to be in the water more often. It was supper time when I returned home. Mom didn't even seem mad, she was just happy to see me! Anyways, that's that... By the way Tinker gave me my lock box for my diary. She said only I can open it. With that I think I will want to write in my diary more often!

Meeting Jasmine Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Rhine slithered through the door, and found his favorite rug under his favorite window. Then he stretched out and waited to watch the crowds pass him by unnoticed. Ecavi Ah, Min had decided to take another trip to her favorite building. She doesn't even care if she runs into Tilia when she arrives, just happy to be out and even proud of herself for it. For once, she'd told her mother where she was going. Ecavi had looked surprised, and it pleased Jasmine. She doesn't pay any attention to the window as she walks by it, pushes the door open and walks in. When she does look around, she spots a yellow and green dragon she's never met before. "Hello!" Min says with a grin and without any hesitation, walking toward the rug. Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Rhine blinked his eyes a few times almost startled that some one other than Sunny had come to pay him some attention. What he was looking at he wondered... Dragon or Human; perhaps something in the middle. He snorted softly and calmly. Then slowly he moved from a slumbering position to his frog like sit on his hind legs. "Hello." Rhine started. "I'm Rhine, and you are?" Rhine paused. Ecavi Min beams at Rhine when he looks up at her. What an odd expression, and place to lay down! She waved a scaly, clawed and yellow hand at him. "I'm Min," she introduced herself, tilting her head as she looked at Rhine's legs and the froggy posture he had. She looks back at his face with a grin, "You're a very pretty color, Rhine." Yellow is good, and green is good too! It makes sense. Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Rhine gave another soft snort and smiled. "You have a very pretty name. Thank You. You have some very pretty colors as well." He bit back his tongue for a moment while he thought of a way to phrase it. "Are you dragon or human?" His mother hadn't yet gone into shifting with him so this he honestly didn't know. Ecavi Min's ears twitch when Rhine snorts again, and she can't help but wonder about it. She's quickly distracted by his compliments, which make her smile return. "It's short for Jasmine, 'cause no one could say it when I was little," she nods matter-of-factly. She watches him try to think of a polite way to ask her what she is, doing something she should definitely learn to do. "What?" she exclaims, making an exaggerated motion with her arms, " I am a dragon." Her voice isn't angry, it's a playful "you don't just know that?!" kind of tone. "I just changed to look like this one night," she says with a proud nod, stretching out her wings and arms before continuing in almost a ramble "I used to look a little different but I got mad and it made me scalier for some reason. But the whole change-y thing is supposed to happen, Sunny told me and my mom about it." Kawaii_Hime_Ceres He gave a soft snort again with deep breathing. Which then rolled into a deep long yawn before falling into that growl like purr his sister had taught him. "Jasmine that is a flower is it not? Equally as pretty as you." Rhine gave a smirk, followed by a wink. When he herd her playful tone he lifted himself up right. Proud like he pranced half balanced on his two legs in a dog like stance. "I can do this... That is about it. I guess when it is time, it is time." He smiled, and held his pose. Ecavi Min's expression doesn't change when he yawns, though she wonders at the progression of the sound as it goes from snort to yawn to growl-purr. She blinks when he comments on her name, smirks and winks, and then starts to giggle. She pauses when he gets up onto his hind legs, but then starts laughing again. Rhine is certainly very friendly! "That's very good," she says with a smile, "I stayed on all fours, I liked it better that way." Kawaii_Hime_Ceres "Being comfy curvy as Sunny says I don't have much room to move to see things. I've had to adapt to accommodate this." He dropped back down onto all fours, with a rather large thud. He nuzzled her. He found that her being female, and of the same specials didn't bother him at all. Mater-of-fact he enjoyed being with a female that wasn't a sister. "I have a passion for water. Makes me feel not so awkward." He paused. "Do you have a passion?" Ecavi Min stares at Rhine for a moment, "Comfy curvy? What?" She tilts her head and blinks, "Like.. curvy?" She doesn't know how to express what she's thinking, but she can see how he could be curvy. "Well, being able to see things is important," she nods. She can't help but giggle when she's nuzzled, and then takes a seat on the floor to it's easier to talk. "Water, eh?" she grins, eyeing his fins, "Sounds about right, you do look like someone that would like water! I don't know about me, though. I don't feel awkward very much." How wonderful it must be for her to be confident, talkative and yet so oblivious to how her words could make others feel. "Um," she taps her chin as she tries to think. Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Rhine blushed. "I'm over weight." He paused, followed by a large gulp. "But, I don't mind it so much. I'm working on thinning out." He smiled boldly. Rhine wriggled a fin, and then nudged her again. "My fins are not at there full potential just yet. They lean, causing me to wobble. They'll get studier as I use them more." He looked her in the eyes with a grin. "Thank You." He was very pleased that she had sat down. Looking up was hard enough, but extended periods gave him neck cramps. He returned to the growl like purr. "Do I make you feel awkward?" This slipped from his mouth rather quickly. His eyes slipped to look at her now that she was sitting. She certainly pettier when she sat, perhaps because he could see all of her. He blushed before looking away. He gulped. "I mean..." He gave that soft snort. He was embarrassed at letting such a thing slip. Ecavi "Ooooh," Min murmured as if she didn't notice until Rhine said it, "It's not that bad, but it might be healthier to thin out." She nods, liking the bold smile. "What are your fins used for?" She asks with a smile, eyeing the wriggly fins, "They looks sort of like wings, but like they'd be more useful for swimming." Her head tilts when Rhine asks if he makes her feel awkward, eyeing him when he blushes and turns away curiously. She doesn't seem to mind the question, giggling. "Not really," she replies cheerfully, "You're the nicest dragon I've met, I think! We haven't argued, and you're very nice~" Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Rhine wiggled a wobbly fin. "When they are strong enough they will help me navigate my body easier through the water." He was trying to sound like he understood it himself, even if he didn't understand the whole concept. He looked at her again, and smiled brightly. "I've only met one other dragon. His name is Renor. He is very nice, but you are the first girl dragon I've met. A very nice, and pretty girl dragon... at that." He gave his growl like purr. "Nope no arguing... I try to refrain." He remember his recent fight with his mother. "Makes me mean, and say bad things that I don't really mean." Again he blushed. He nuzzled her. "I've got to get home. I've got some chores to do. It was very nice meeting you. Please come visit my home. My mom can set you up a mirror sometime." He paused. "Because you cannot reach it by boat, or any other man made means." He looked up and smiled. Ecavi "So they just get in the way of swimming now?" She asks with a smile, but then nods. It made sense that they would help with swimming, but she can't help but feel bad that they won't help with flying, or that he didn't say they would. "I met Renor when he was just a baby," Min giggles, remembering how shy he'd been, " I've met mostly girl dragons, it's surprising you didn't meet them yet!" At his compliments she smiles and even blushes a little bit, a reaction she's never really had to compliments, though she's never really gotten so many- especially from someone like Rhine. "I guess I say a lot of bad things that.. well, I mean at the time but I don't really mean for all the time, you know?" she nods, "I get in lots of arguments." She blinks and then frowns when Rhine suddenly says he has to go. It's just her luck that she meets a friendly dragon and he'd have to leave. She brighten when he invites her to visit him. "Ok!" She says with a smile and a nod, "Sounds like fun!" What kind of odd place does Rhine live on if you can't get to it by boat or man made means? It almost sounded like it wouldn't be across water, which would take care of the boat, but other means.. her thoughts just trail off.. Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Rhine nudged Min, then stood again on his two hind legs. Balancing carefully, he took a couple steps forward and placed his claws onto her shoulders. Careful not to give her his weight, or to harm her, and laid his head on her shoulders. This was his form of a hug, which could be understood when he gave his growl like purr. "I promise she'll set up the mirror soon. Until then try not get into too many arguments, and if you do... Think of me." He paused. "It will make you smile." He then slipped from the hug, and landed on all fours with a load thud. With a smile, he slithered out. Ecavi Confused at first, Min watches Rhine waddle to her on his two hind legs with a smile on her face. When she catches on, she grins and returns the hug, putting her arms around him. "Ok! I can't wait," she beamed, "And I'll be sure to keep you in mind if I get into any arguments." She giggles, it's a silly thought but already she can see it helping. She lets go of him when he backs off onto all fours, then waves as he leaves~ "Bye!"

Rhine's Diary Entry 3 Dear Diary, These past few weeks make me feel like I am caught some where between a child and a teen. So much left to learn, so much left to do... Can I do it in time? Just yesterday I was in the Children of Last Home Adoption Centre. Most of the time I just sleep, without anyone ever noticing me. Which I find odd because of my size. Anyways, for once someone other than Sunny noticed me! It was so wonderful that another dragon noticed me. Not only was it a dragon, it was a girl dragon. Her name was Jasmine, and she was very pretty. She says she argues with the other dragons she has met, but not me. I hope I can keep that up. I really like her, and want her to be my friend. I've even invited her to come visit me. I'll have to think of a better place to take her than castle. I wonder if I'll meet her mom, or if she'll come alone. If she comes alone I hope my mom doesnt follow us...

Rhine's Diary Entry 4 Dear Diary, To the store I demanded to my mother this morning. She didn't ask me why, which was odd enough. Anyways, when I got there she handed me some money. Again, odd enough, she didn't ask me why. Creepy though, she smiled. It took me hours to catch sent of the flower shop that carried Jasmine that I needed. Sadly, they didn't have potted Jasmine flowers that I wanted... They only had seeds. So I picked up a half dozen packets in case of screw ups. My mother new just when to pick me up. Again she's creepy like that, but I love her for it. Now, I just have to find a way to ask her to help me grow these seedlings. I hope they grow in time, and I can keep my mouth shut. I want these Jasmine flowers to be a surprise for when she comes to visit. P.S: I also picked something up for her in the mean time to help her think of me so she won't argue as much. Funny thing though is that it reminds me more of her. Perhaps, I should have gotten a matching pair...

Jasmine's Bracelet Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Rhine slithered in to find his favorite rug. Dripping wet, but comfortable enough he stretched out his right back leg. Nudged the rug, and was down for the count. His claws remained on a tiny package. Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Rhine stirred a bit in his sleep as he gave out a load growlish type snore. But, his paw never moved from guarding the box. Ecavi Jasmine, on her way back from Aekea carrying a bag that was just a little heavier than when she'd started her journey, has decided to take a break by going to one of her favorite places- that, of course, being the Adoption Centre. It isn't too far from her home, but she's tired from going so far to Aekea and back. She pushes open the door and heads for the couch without taking a look around right away. Folding her wings, she drops onto the couch with a sigh- pulling the strap of the bag from over her neck and letting it sit on the cough. "Wha--" she starts when she does look around and notices Rhine on the same rug she'd seen him on before. She grins and exclaims, "Rhine!" Ecavi Jasmine laughs watching him wake up after she called to him, getting up off of the couch and taking a seat a couple feet away from him. As long as it wasn't flying, it doesn't matter to her how she takes her break. "Hi!" she says with a cheerful wave, forgetting what she'd seen in Aekea. She tilts her head when he nudges a little box towards her, "Ooh, what's that?" Without waiting for an answer she reaches out and picks it up, opening it. "Wow! It's so pretty!" she gasps, tilting the box to make its shine vary with the angle to the light. (( o.o ! wow, prettty~ )) Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Rhine nudged her giving his growl like purr towards her. He beamed proudly with a slight flush. "Nothing compares to your pretty-ness though. But, I thought it might help as an extra reminder not to argue." Rhine peered over her shoulder. "I see you've been shopping today. Did you have fun?" He smiled. Ecavi "Aw, that's so nice!" Min beams and gives Rhine a hug, "Thank you." She holds out the box to him, "Help me put it on?" Clasps, while simple enough, are tricky for her when she's clasping something around herself. She glances back to the back on the couch when he asks about shopping, "Oh! I didn't go shopping, I have to go check on a friend for my mom." She frowns, "No one was home, but I needed to take a break before going home- it's a long way to Aekea and back.." She eyes the tattered looking package poking out of the bag, wondering if she should have just gone right home. Min looks back at Rhine, deciding that a brief visit wouldn't hurt- and mom probably wouldn't be home yet anyway. Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Writing or picking a lock was tricky enough, but never had he managed a clasp. Then again never had he thought to try. He took a deep breath, thinking what if he snapped it in two. But then again what would she think if he declined. His teeth began to chitter a bit. Then it stopped as she hugged him, and he just nodded simplistically. "Sure Thing!" Still looking directly at Jasmine's face, and he out reached for the bracelet. He was really wishing a pair human hands, or at least something a bit more manageable than claws. Then he noticed it as he finally managed to clip that clasp shut, his claws had slightly become more accommodated to that of a human, but still at least 80 percent dragon. "There you go." He laughed a bit. He was so excited at how excited she was. But as quickly as he was done he hid his front claws. Thinking... What just happened? Did she notice it too?He nudged her hoping to break her from the frown. "I am sure a small break wouldn't hurt a thing. Besides she'll know you didn't stray too far when she sees your wrist..." He gave his grow like purr. "I mean you don't just find those down in the dumps..." He added. Then he thought, am I digging a whole?Ecavi It doesn't really occur to Min that he'd have trouble with clasps, expecting that he'll just be able to do it. With a smile she holds her wrist steady and watches as he snaps it onto her wrist, though she pays more attention to the bracelet than to his hands "Thank you!" She exclaims, "For the gift and for helping me put it on." There's no sign that she was frowning after he nudges and reassures her. Min nods, "I suppose you're right! Where did you get this anyway? I've never seen anything like it!" She doesn't need any hints to know that it's not just any bracelet, and, of course, she really likes it. Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Relieved she didn't notice, or at least mention it. He sighed, and smiled easy again. "I was out shopping for some..." Rhine paused. If he told her, she'd know what he was up to. The next surprise would be a bust. So he held his breath, and just slipped a dust speck lie in. "...some lotion." He sighed, but still smiled. That sounded honest enough. "There was a jewelry store next door, and shiny things attract my attention. When I saw that it was Jasmine flowers I just had to get it for you." Now, at least he could be honest again. He didn't like hiding things from her, but she'd understand when she came to visit. He let out a loud yawn. "I suppose I need to get back home. One more good rain storm and I'll never make it." He smiled. "Besides, I don't want your mother to worry about you." He paused, and thought to himself. I already worry enough for the two of us. And, her getting in trouble isn't something I wish to happen to her.Ecavi "Lotion?" Min asks, laughing. She laughs not because it's lotion, but because of the reluctant tone it seemed to her that he had when admitting it. She grins and listens as he continues his story. "Really?" she murmurs, looking back at the bracelet. She hadn't realized they were jasmines! That's so neat, and thoughtful. Min smiles, "That's very nice of you~ I'll have to find you something, too!" It seems only right that he should get a gift as well, he's much too nice not to, and she sees no problem in telling him that. "Yeah, well," Min pauses, "I think she'll be more worried about Sae when she finds out I'm ok anyway. But I should be getting home, I guess." She smiles and gets to her feet, "I'll see you soon?" Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Rhine went straight faced as she questioned the lotion. This wasn't something that would normally sound embarrassing, but today it came out that way. Returning the smile to his face he just hoped that it had worked, at least, in diverting her from his true secrete. Watching her expression as he told her that the flowers on the bracelet where Jasmines, Rhine gave a wide spread smile. "I am very pleased you like it." Rhine paused a moment, and thought of a gift for himself. He had bought without those intentions, but still that would be nice. He nodded. "I'll look forward to it." Rhine smiled. Rhine didn't know who Sae was, but nodded. "I hope she doesn't worry to much, then." Again like last time. He reared up onto his two back legs, and placed his front claws on her shoulders. Careful not to give her his weight, he laid his head on her shoulder. He started to give his growl like purr. "Yes, soon." He could say this with confidence, as this was now his main reason to visit... "And, don't forget you'll have to come visit soon!" He dropped back onto all fours and slithered out.

Seedlings Part 1: Early Morning Rhine woke up in the early hours, which oddly enough for his lazy self was common. He stretched full body, with a load yawn that sounded more like a growl. He then went to his favorite rock in his room, and nudged it aside. Under the rock was a tiny hole that contained his Jasmine seedlings. Today he had decided he would plant them. He had been thinking ever since he bought them where he would want to plant them. He had made his mind up that inside the farm gates wouldn't be a good idea because there was no privacy at all. He had remember the tree on the island in the middle of lake. He thought he'd plant his seedlings there, because there looked the safest and most private place. He grabbed the plastic sack, and slithered out of his room and towards the front door. Expecting every one to be asleep, he was startled to find his mom watching him from her door frame. "You are up early. Got plans?" Rhine nodded. "Yes I am, and Yes I do." Ceres sighed. He was growing so fast, and she hardly saw him at the house any more other than to sleep. "What do you do while your gone? I worry about you." She looked sad, yet haughtily happy. Rhine gave a straight face. "I got to the lake as Sunny suggested. The walks there help me get fit. I also like to go the adoption agency to meet Jasmine, Sunny, and Renor." He paused. "I also like to go to the grove to visit GraMa." He nodded his head, and thought. Yes that sounds good enough without saying to much.Ceres smiled toward him. She was happy that he listed non harmful things, and also that he mentioned a girls name. "I'm really proud of you." Rhine smiled softly. "Thank You." He flushed a bit. "I don't have time for breakfast..." He paused, and almost frowned at missing fish pancakes. But smiled quickly knowing that what he was doing was well worth it. "Would you like something to go then?" Ceres asked seeing his displeasure in having to say no to breakfast. Rhine shook his head. "I should be back shortly after lunch." Ceres knelt down and hugged him. "Have a good time then." Rhine nudged her, and smiled. He then slithered out the front door.

Seedlings Part 2: The Island Rhine slithered his normal path to the lake with a couple breaks along the way. However, he didn't stop long. What he was doing today, meant a lot to him. He wanted to have them ready by the time she visited, even if just sprouts. Once at the lake he slipped on in. His mer-friend was happy to see him again, and gave him company till he reached the middle where the island was. Rhine smiled knowing he'd have more time to play later. His friend understood after he explained what he was up to. He went straight to the tree, and found the softest soil. Using his claws, he raked rows to form a pattern. Then carefully he emptied his half dozen seed packets. He used his tail to cover them. Couple trips later with a mouth full of water he'd managed to water them. It was around 10-ish when he stretched out in the sunniest spot for a nap. He was with high hopes that there would be no mistakes, and that this would be a perfect surprise.

Seedlings Part 3: Late Lunch Rhine arrived home a little after one. Ceres with uncanny knack of guess work had a warm lunch set up for him in his favorite spot in the living room. However, there was no sign of Tinker, her, or his sisters. This didn't bother him much as it saved him from explanations. After words he went into his bed room, and sat in front of the mirror. He gave a soft snort as doubt started to fill his head. Was he really all that good looking after all, or did people just see him as blubber. He smiled as he remember Sunny's phrasing of Comfortably Curvy, which Jasmine seemed to agree with. He shook the discomforting thoughts from his head. He then looked down to his front claws remember his last visit with Jasmine. He was pondering on this like what happened, how it is happened, why it happened when he heard a knock on his door. "Everything alright?" Tinker smiled. "May I come in?" Rhine almost glad it wasn't mom just yet, nodded his head. "I suppose so. Come on in." Rhine smiled. Tinker came to sit next to Rhine who was sitting on his haunches. "You sure everything is alright. You and mom haven't talked in a while... Well, mater of fact since that argument." Tinker paused hoping she wasn't treading to thin. Rhine nodded his head, and went straight faced. "I just don't have anything to say to her at the moment. We both apologized, and that ended it." He paused. Tinker looked at Rhine's reflection. "I just wanted to make sure. Is there anything you would like to talk about?" Tinker thought a moment. "I promise to keep it between you and me." Rhine thought about the offer. "Promise?" Tinker nodded with a smile. "Cross my heart." "Sunny suggested I swim more. She told me that I take after my dad, not that I will meet him or my mother. But, still this information got me all worked out because it gave me a reason to get fit." Rhine paused. Tinker giggled a bit. "So, is that the reason you get up early every morning, and get home late every evening..." She paused trying to make sure her laugh didn't sound mean. "Is because you want to get fit through swimming." Rhine laughed with her. Silly it did sound, but he nodded his head. "I am getting very good at it. And my mer-friend joins me, and helps me train my fins. It is very exciting." Tinker nodded. "Anything else you are up to?" She paused, not trying to pry. "I mean that takes care of the mornings and evenings, but what about the afternoons?" Rhine lowered his voice to an almost whisper. "Nothing really except my nap. But now I have something special to take care of." Tinker went wide eyed. What he spoke of almost sounded living. She nudged him. "Like what?" "I planted some seeds." Rhine said this proudly. Tinker gave a sigh of relief. "You want some help?" Rhine shook his head. "No, I want to do this one my own. I am growing them as a surprise for when my friend comes to visit." Tinker smiled. "I bet she will love it. And let me guess you visit the agency often in hopes of seeing a glimpse of her?" Rhine blushed, but managed a hearty nod of his head. "Say no more..." Tinker added in quickly. Rhine nodded again. "I'll leave you to view yourself in the mirror. Again as promised just between us. If you want to talk again you know where to find me." Tinker smiled, gave him a big hug, and then left the room. Rhine left alone again looked at himself. He could do it... Yes, but could he do it in time. Rhine left the mirror, and curled up against his favorite rock in his room. He had at least a couple hours worth of nap time before it was time for his evening swim.

Mountains Part 2: Wild Hare Again in the early morning hours Rhine left the house. However, this time Ceres was not waiting for him, but a brown bag lunch in plastic coating was at the door with a note. So, grown up, yet, so much to learn. The island is as much mine as it is yours. It can teach you at least 80 percent of life's lessons, except lessons of the heart. I am proud of what you have accomplished, and what you will accomplish. Just don't starve yourself in the process. When your ready to talk to me, I'll be ready to listen. - Love MomRhine read the note several times over. He felt warm in side, for being loved so much. He was a bit puzzled at lessons of the heart, and figured in time that too he would understand. He was very pleased at the fact that she was wiling to wait for him to talk. He didn't stop much on his way to the lake like usual. He had wanted to explore a new part of the island today. But he did however, managed a slightly extended swim with his mer-friend. Water his seeds didn't take long, so it equaled out. Some time after eating his lunch he was standing with the forest behind him, and the mountains in front of him. He knew that his father was that of sea, and his mother that of mountains, or so his mother had said from guess work. He'd loved the sea from birth, but had never thought of about the other half of himself. Today he wanted to find out if there was another half. Something else he could possibly enjoy as much as swimming. However, as he looked up he though himself nuts. There were no paths, just notches for scaling, and small recesses for resting till the top. Determined though he dug one claw into the rocks, and then another. His back half didn't cooperate as well as his front half, nor did his weight help much even after loosing several pounds. I must not look down. He thought to himself. As he reached for the next grip he slipped. He claws dug hard as he fell several feet till he managed a good grip. A bit scratched, he panted, and continued. I must be nuts. He thought to himself. I am definitely better built for a good swim. His body hurt, especially his underbelly now cut up from the jagged rocks. Many of his claws bleeding underneath from the previous fall. His tail hung pointlessly unless he banged against a rock. His yellows and greens where slight shades of browns. His face was a sweaty mess. But as he saw the top he couldn't help but feel proud of himself. Quickly it was followed by never again. He stuck his claw out over the ledge, then the next, and then scrambled with his back claws scratching rocks to get his body mass onto the flat surface. Breathing hard, he laid there exhausted, dirty, and bloody. He looked over the edge for several seconds. The cool breeze felt great on his face. He did feel a bit exhilarated to have accomplished such a task So exhilarated that he felt as if he deserved a good long nap. When he woke it was well after sunset. The air was crisp, and the breeze was now chilly. He followed the ledges looking down every so often. He needed a way down, and he was to exhausted to climb down the way he had come up. At one point when he looked over it was a straight drop into the ocean. He didn't care much for salt water, nor the height. But what if it wasn't really just a straight drop. He thought to himself. Without a second thought he got himself to the ledge, closed his eyes, and leapt forward best he could. He fell for what seemed like several minutes, and to his relief it was just a straight drop. However, his relief was quickly turned to pain as he hit the water. It stunned him, and thus didn't give him much time to react to swim upwards. Finally he managed to swim upwards. The water was freezing, and the salt burned his cut up body. For a few minutes he fought off his exhaustion long enough to manage the direction he should be heading. When he saw the sandy area of the beach he quickly went ashore. He was tired. He sprawled out, despite the waves washing up on his back, he slept. He yawned, and stretched as the sun hit his eyes. He had woke up later than normal. However, he decided to skip the trip to the lake, and just headed home. When he went into the living room Ceres and Tinker were leaned up against each other on the sofa. They were sleeping, but still had worried expressions. He curled on his favorite rug, watched them, and waited. He could sleep again in the warmth of home, but hurt to bad to do so. He couldn't help but think of the previous day, and how stupid he had been to think he might be equally as good at something else...

Mountains Part 2: Silence Broken Rhine's breathing was labored. The swim had washed some of the blood and dirt stains; however, some cuts still bleed. Had he perhaps rested longer before jumping into the ocean he wouldn't have been worn out despite his rest on the beach. However, ache and longing had gotten the better of him. Shortly after Rhine settled into a restless state on the rug Ceres woke, followed by Tinker. As Ceres saw him she was shocked. "What happened to you?" Tinker equally as shocked. "We were so worried when you didn't come home. I told mom you'd be back a little after dinner, nothing more..." Tinker paused. "I promise." Rhine smiled half heartedly. "It is alright Tinker if you did..." He paused. "But, thank you for the silence." Tinker nodded. Ceres gave an odd look at Rhine. "I was already worried enough, and now I find out you've been keeping secrets..." "And, you Tinker..." Ceres paused, keeping as calm as possible. "Have kept his secrets." She was teetering on making this a question more than a statement. Tinker again just nodded. Rhine snorted as pain seared through his body. He took a deep breath. "Remember, when you took me to town? I bought some seedlings that day. I have taken them to a special spot on the island. I planted them the other day, and have gone ever since to water them. That is what takes up my lunch time." Rhine stretched a back end, and continued before she could speak. "My breakfast, and dinner times are taking up by swimming. Sunny told me that I itch because I dry out. Lotion is only for a quick fix, but not a permanent one." Rhine stretched out his front half, gasping in pain, but still managed to continue before she could. "I also understand, as Sunny put it, that I am comfortably curving. However, I cannot go through life just eating, sleeping" He paused briefly. "Because doing as I please leads to me becoming larger. I wanted to do something about this. So, I use swimming as not only a relief, or a pleasure, but also as a means to work out." Tinker smiled happy that he was talking again to mother, and then slipped from the room. "I haven't spoken to you since our argument other than to apologize because I didn't want you to baby me any more... I am growing up. That grove taught me that I need to do things for myself, and to believe in myself..." Rhine smiled more real than the last, but still laced in pain. Ceres was shocked and almost lost for words. "I am proud of you..." Ceres paused, but paused too long. "I also have a new friend; her name is Jasmine." With that Rhine despite his pain headed for the door. Ceres was no longer angry, just worried about why he had come home in such a state. She managed. "What happened to you?" Rhine paused. "I'll discuss that when I return home again, but for now I need rest... Something I know I won't get here. I just stopped by long enough so you wouldn't worry." The door closed behind him. Ceres beamed, and thought... He stopped by just to make sure I wouldn't worry. I hope he finds a good place to rest, and that he returns home soon. Ceres' mind lingered a bit. Wish he had wanted to stay long enough to get a bit fixed up, then again the open hearted chat was wonderful. Perhaps next time he'll let me get a word or two in.

Mountains Part 3: Rest at the Agency Kawaii_Hime_Ceres Rhine slithered in slower than normal. He was restless, and in search of a place to sleep. Sleep if just for seconds; however, the pain was intense and no where suited his fancy. Ache was in his eyes as he laid on his favorite rug. Stretching out, he breathed slowly. He had been cleaned up, but still some of the deeper cuts bleed. He watched the door, would Sunny or Jasmine show. He gave a low growl, almost hoping not. He didn't want them to see him like this, and had it not been a last resort he'd have just crawled some where and hid for a few days... Finally his eyes started to close, flittering between being conscious.
