Fordon CordelSpecial Jounin and Hunter ninja of the mist Tendril Hearts Water-Lightning-Earth-"Loyalty..."
As Fordon lay upon the brink of death no movement did his body make. The warmth of his life-force was slowly draining out of him into the world. Inside his body the soul clung lazily to the mortal coffin that had entombed it for all its existence. Somewhere in that subconscious soul Fordon's inner mind dreamed of a clean pond inside the garden of the Ushio clan home. As his body was poked ripples appeared in the pond and made him lose focus of something... What was it? What was he supposed to be concentrating on? As he lost his thought the pond grew hazy as fog began to cover it encroaching from every direction toward him. It seemed like the heat and color of the world was being slowly bleached out as the haze rolled in. What was this cold chill that crept toward him to try and cling to his bones?
Gazing back down to the pond he looked intently at his reflection thinking that it was somehow the key. Suddenly he noticed that his reflection was falling apart. Every stitch in his flesh that was oh so carefully placed and sowed with his tendrils was coming undone. The tendrils were withdrawing away. At first he could not tell where but then he saw the tendrils in reflection were coming out and painfully forcing there way inside of him. they were withdrawing from his reflection and retreating inside of him. They were pulling away from this mirror world and would leave it all behind.
Once they had finish he could feel a lightness in him. It made him uneasy and venerable. Trying to ascertain where the feeling was coming from the realization came with a strike of terror. He was floating! Not just floating, but floating away from the pond. The fog had almost covered the entire pond and almost concealed his entire reflection. This horror was him departing from the world. He was dying... It was strange. He almost felt like he was giving in but there was no way to fight this. Or was there? He had his tendrils! the ones that had come out of his reflection!
Using all of his concentration Fordon drew upon every ounce of strength he had and forced his tendrils down into the dimming reflection. They shot down like singing arrows and rippled the water as they dug into the other him. He stopped floating away as the tendrils tethered him to the pond. He forced them to pass through that other body draw it back together. They obeyed and as his reflection reassembled he began to lower back towards the pond. The hazy fog began to drift away and the colors and heat began to slowly return.
Fordon had come close to death and narrowly held on. Because that inner part of him held on there was still a chance. Inside his body his tendrils were doing all they could to repair the damage but they desperately needed raw materials to do so. Food and water were imperative but what would have been great would be another body to use for spare parts as it were. Muscles and tissues that could speed up the regeneration time. The tendrils began to feel around for what could be close enough to use.
Outside of his body in the hands of this strange girl Fordon's body would have felt strange. Under his skin was an undulation like that of thousand worms moving. In that motion the mist headband hanging from his waist vibrated and plinked against the one stone near it. Slowly the tendrils poked out from the stitched seams that they held together. They were looking for a body to consume and woe to the first unfortunate soul they touched and found. This man's body was a freak show coming to life. Anyone could see that and that it was dangerous. The joints of his body, it seemed, had been replaced with seams in the skin, threaded back together to turn him into a living puppet. What was he? Who was he? She didn't know, but after a quick glance around to be sure that no one would see the action, her pale hands moved to the cowl of her traveling cloak, lowering the cowl to reveal her face. Her skin was the color of old, creamy ivory, the bone structure of her face delicate and fine. Her face was a pale heart shape, her crimson eyes a stark contrast to the rest of her face. Her lips were full and pouty, stained a bright cherry red, her features framed by escaping locks of her long blonde ponytail. Delicate gold earrings adorned her ears, two thin gold chains drawing a person's eye to the symbol of Konohagakure and strange symbol dangling from her necklaces. She was lovely, a statue of a goddess brought to life. She was also deadly. She studied the man carefully, confused when he showed no sign of any real physical damage. She assumed it was fatigue or had something to do with a fight of sorts. Either way, this man needed help, and she would certainly give it to him. Her crimson eyes widened in horror as she felt a wriggling sensation under the man's skin, watching as tendrils emerged from his skin and began working to repair his body. Her lips were parted in shock, her eyes wide, as she stared at the self-repairing body before her. "What are you?" She couldn't help but wonder aloud as she removed her cloak and used it to wrap the Hunter-nin in. Anything to keep those tendrils from touching her skin. She slid her hands under his body and threw him over her shoulder. There was only one place to take him where she knew she could get him help and wouldn't be asked any questions that she would have been asked. Abandoning your village was treason, and treason was a crime punishable by beheading. So rather than taking him to Kirigakure, she tossed the man over her shoulder and began making her way back home. Back to the Rogue Village. That was the one place where being Kaiten Onodera, rogue formerly of Konohagakure, wasn't a crime in and of itself. It was the one place where she was given sanctuary. Aoi Hyouga Frozen Phoenix of the Mist テキスト翻訳 Suiton| Fuuton| Hyouton Stage II l Jounin l Jumping out of the forest line onto the ground, Aoi placed her hips on her shoulders as she stared into the clearing that led to the bridge up ahead. As they walked towards it, she could see faintly in the distance the mountain ranges that surrounded the mist village, the mist not allowing anyone incapable of seeing through it to even see what she saw herself. To most anyone, midway through the bridge things began to get hazy and then utterly difficult to see. She was just glad she was so close to home.
Walking onto the bridge, her pace quickened a little as if she was anxious to get back. The water out there was crystal clear, and the sun was beginning to near its peak. "It must be around noon then," she thought to herself as they continued on the way. The village would definitely be bustling then, and she could already see a lot of fishing boats in the great expanse of ocean that proceeded the gulf the bridge started from in Konoha. Once they reached the middle, two islands could be seen marking the entrance into the Land of Waves. As promised, the air slowly became thick with mist, and the docks of Kirigakure were not too far ahead. After some time in silence with the boys, sure enough the dock came into view. Of course, they wouldn't be using that way to get back into the village. She knew a mountain pass that was faster than the docks and she wanted to get home as soon as she could.
Breaking the silence Aoi spoke at last saying, "I suggest you guys start taking some notes now to remember for the mission report you'll be filling when we get to the Mizukage's office." As the mist began to fully permeate the area she grinned, turning her head slightly to the two. "Can anyone tell me why this bridge is named after Naruto Uzumaki of the Uzumaki clan of Wave Country?"

If that woman won't train me I'll just find someone who will. He followed his squad leader closely, walking heavier than necessary (without stomping) on the wooden bridge. How was he supposed to keep quiet? Not only did he see no other response, but he didn't get what she wanted him to do about it. It was over, and I'm not about to go back and apologize to that snake brat. She acts like I wasn't trying to hold myself back! Masaki remembered clearly how well he had kept his mouth shut. He hadn't snapped at that old jerk who had the nerve to kill in front of him. he had remained silent all the way through most of the meeting. "Can anyone tell me why this bridge is named after Naruto Uzumaki of the Uzumaki clan of Wave Country?" Masaki didn't spend much time in school, but it didn't take much to recognize a pop quiz. The same question arose the first time they crossed the bridge. He held his tongue for a moment to keep from snapping at the woman before he grumbled. "It's named after some ninja who helped build this bridge when a gangster tried to shut it down." It was a vague retelling, partly because he didn't know the whole story and partly because he was more than a little annoyed at the woman.

Aoi Hyouga Frozen Phoenix of the Mist テキスト翻訳 Suiton| Fuuton| Hyouton Stage II l Jounin l Waiting a few moments for a response, at last one came from Masaki. A haphazard attempt at an answer, but to an extent the boy was correct. "Ummmmm, well I guess that answer's correct." she said as she tapped her chin, ignoring Masaki's obvious attempts at making it known that he was angry. Removing her pack from her back as she walked a bit ahead, it dropped in front of Masaki's path. "Congrats on the answer! Mind carrying that for me?" She said it without bothering to turn and face Masaki, or even wait for him to respond or do it as she continued walking. The game had always been a game of 'Trick or Treat' she invented to play with the genin she took with her on missions. It seemed knowing Masaki, this was a fitting treat for the boy.
At last, they descended down the six steps that landed them on Kiri soil, Aoi breathing it stoically. Motioning for them to follow she reminded once again, "Don't forget you'll have to fill out a mission report once you get to the Mizukage's office." Hopping high into the cliffs to the tunnels she knew of, she figured it would be quite a hike for Masaki who carried what was probably half his weight in extra stuff. Reaching the small crevice in the mountain they had to slip into to use the tunnel, she went first into it, seeing dim lanterns in the distance. "Alright guys, last stretch home! Race ya to the gates kids!" With little more warning, Aoi took off down the dimly lit corridor which opened up near the entrance of Kirigakure. She figured they could only go one way, so how lost could the kids get?"

As he slipped his arms through the straps he tested the weight. This would certainly make it more interesting, especially considering there wasn't much to see once you entered the mist. He was so caught up in this act that he almost missed when Snowcone took a detour into the cliffs. He launched himself after her, gleefully straining his legs to keep up with the weight, and followed her into a particularly soggy tunnel in the cliffside. Snowcone wasn't far away, but in the dim light it was difficult to make her out. Instead he followed her footsteps which echoed through the tunnel walls, accompanied by dripping water and the occasional scattering lizard. The path was pretty straightforward and there wasn't much cha- Without warning the ground gave out beneath Masaki's feet, leaving his hands scrambling against the smooth rock for a hold. In occordance with the laws of gravity Masaki found himself tumbling into the hole, at the bottom of which he sat dumbfounded. He sat in a large cavern, with several new tunnels branching off in every direction. He scrambled to pick up the contents of Snowcone's bag and stuff it back in which took longer than it should have. How did she fit so much in here?
Finally after several minutes he swung the bag back over his shoulders, and after gathering all the strength into his legs jumped back up the hole and followed Snowcone to the exit of the tunnel. He would have to return sometime to explore the caverns. [exit to Kiri gates]

The loud sound of footfalls could be heard as Matsuya ran quickly across the bridge. He looked onward, the bandages putting stress on his face and making it a little difficult to breath. It wasn't much of a hindrance, but while running it made things a little tiring. His thoughts had drowned out the loud noise of his feet hitting the concrete bridge. All that was on his mind was getting to Konoha as quickly as possible. He was worried for his old village. He was worried for Zin. The boy was the closest thing Matsuya had to a little brother. Luo and Tares were his brothers as well, but he had always considered them to be his older brothers, given his height. He'd always been the shortest of the three and had therefore literally looked up to the two. But Zin was different. Zin had been Matsuya's responsibility the moment he was elected Hokage. Given the boys identity, only someone highly placed in the village should have been placed as his guardian. And Matsuya was happy to do it. And over the years, he'd grown fond of the boy. And soon enough, when Zin had graduated, Matsuya gave him bits and pieces of his father's journal. He'd omitted the pieces about human experimentation and details of the most gruesome ideas. Matsuya looked up quickly to make sure he was still running the correct path. He was on the edge of the Fire Country. Soon, he would be in the forest that surrounded Konoha.

Matsuya dropped from the final tree he'd jumped to. As opposed to his last crossing, he was in no hurry to get across the bridge home. His mind was swimming in thoughts of Zin and of Konohagakure. He was fortunate enough to bump into an apple vendor who was crossing the bridge. After that, Matsuya found himself a nice place on the side of the bridge and sat for a while. He looked down at the river below him. The moon looked up at him like a giant eye.
His dream was to go into business as an information broker. The main reason behind this was to supply people with information that could help them with their everyday life. If there had been an information broker to supply him information on the man who'd killed Asami, maybe he wouldn't have had to leave for two years like he had. He could have simply gotten the information and taken a brief vacation to the island country and killed the man. That would have taken about a week or two, compared to two years. If he could help people the way no one had helped him, that would make the world a better place, even if that information led to death.
Matsuya frowned at the last thought. When had he become so insensitive that he didn't mind if his information led to death? Maybe it was his age and experience had finally gotten to him. He sighed and lowered his head, letting his hair fall in front of his face. A small laugh came from behind his hair. It was something that he'd been trying to avoid. Ever since they were children, Zane had been the one who'd been insensitive like this. Now Matsuya was getting so used to death that he'd accepted that he may soon be a source of information that killed people. Or maybe it was the fact that the one person he'd truly loved was dead now. Matsuya sat and looked out over the ocean, eating the apples he'd bought. Maybe a bit of delay to get back to Kirigakure wouldn't be so bad.

A plunk broke the silence as Matsuya dropped an apple core from the bridge and into the river below. He straightened up and stretched his back a bit. Time to get going. He now had an idea of what he was going to do. His loyalty would remain with Kirigakure, staying its secret sannin. But, he was going to arrange for a home to be built. His room at the inn wouldn't do anymore. That house would be his base of operations for his information network. Maybe this whole business with the Hero's Water would give him the opening he needed to set up some useful contacts. He already all but had Zin. The boy would be open to advice from his brother. And maybe this venture could strengthen their brotherly bond.
Matsuya began walking down the bridge. He'd removed the bandages from his face and dropped the bundle with his apple cores. He did have a pang of guilt for dropping trash into the river, but it would just wash out into the ocean eventually. And, on top of that, he couldn't have someone find bandages and a pile of apple cores together. Someone might put two and two together. As he walked, he whistled and rubbed the stubble forming on his face. Maybe he would grow a beard. He'd never had a beard before. And that would, maybe, cover up the fact that he shouldn't even have been alive. Matsuya kept walking, making his way towards Kirigakure.

Luo Ushio Pride Of The Mist テキスト翻訳 Suiton| Ina Hassei Ryouken No Jutsu l Fire l Mizukage l Wind l Shark Summoner The trek from the gates to the bridge wasn't that awful, simply always took longer than expected. The sun seemed to be getting closer and closer to setting as golden light speckled the treeline they were just coming out of. When light hit the misty forests of Kiri, the place looked enchanted, as if gods had walked the lands. The spectacle only happened twice a day, when they sun rose and when it began setting. Luo was among very few people who were usually awake to witness the first light, the one he considered the most beautiful of the pair. When he was younger and began to meditate in the mornings with his father and grandfather, the latter used to tell him something to this day he always thought of, the saying popping up in his head as usual as he witnessed the spectacle. "The gods bask in the mist of the morning. It resounds with peace, tranquility, and knowledge. Therefore, bask in it as well, and heed their words of wisdom."
The saying was one that had resided with the clan since they were first formed, back when gods and goddesses were a more prevalent and recognized force in the world. Still, the saying certainly held merit seemingly withstanding the test of time for the clan. Although it seemed to be purely an adage similar to 'early to bed early to rise' or even easier just a phrase to suggest morning meditation, Luo could sometimes swear his best ideas had come at those times as whispers in his ears. He didn't think about it often, just about only when it occurred or shortly after. However, he always did wonder the true origins behind the saying.
Nearing the bridge, Luo saw a man with a large cart drawn by two horses. He was standing next to it with his arms folded impatiently, as if they were late. In all actuality, Luo and the genin were a bit earlier for the sole face that he didn't have to assign the mission to another chuunin or jounin and then wait on them to actually arrive and take the genin. As they grew near, the annoyed look on the man's face began to melt away into shock. He was from Nagi Island, so it wasn't at all implausible that he knew Luo all too well as the Mizukage. The island itself was militarily monitored by Kiri, and Luo had done a lot of training as well as missions there in years past. The older man bowed instantly as Luo approached, speaking how much of an honor and surprise it is to see the young kage before introducing himself. In return, Luo bowed as well placing his back into it slightly, giving the older gentleman the respect any elder deserved before he spoke. "It's no trouble at all Mr. Hatano, your business is very important to Kiri. However, I must say I'm merely here to oversee your escort. These two will be the ones primarily protecting your cargo."
At that moment, Luo's hands reached back behind both of them, pushing them forwards slightly for them to introduce themselves to the man. He knew manners to not be a strong suit of either of them it seemed, however he had faith that they'd shine through and present themselves kindly on this mission. At least, with Luo around they'd do it.

Masaki | Academy Student | Suiton | Doton | Mokuton | |Ninjutsu Specialist | Support ninja | Combo User | | Signature Jutsu: Chakra Akyo Ki | ------------------------------ ((Forgot you'd posted. Yea so it turns out I completely missed an important facet of Masaki's personality. I'll just chalk it up to his thick head, but it turns out there couldnt be a mission he would have hated more)) [Enter from Kiri Gates] Masaki found himself amused, for while the beauty of the setting sun was lost on him it added an extra challenge. He loved challenges. It would seem, that they would be guiding the merchant to the mist in the dark. The old man had already lit the lanterns on the caravan, knowing it would be difficult to drive the goods through the night's mist without them. Their sight would be limited while any enemy would see their location easilly. This judgement was fleeting however, as the conclusion was the only important part to the young boy. The caravan would be a beacon, visible even through the mist, an attack would be easier and thus became much more likely.
When they finally reached the man and his cart, Masaki let Luo do the talking, for he was far better with words than Masaki would ever be. However instead Luo pushed Masaki and Gage forward as if asking them to introduce themselves. Briefly Masaki glanced over his shoulder at the man, as if to ask if he was sure before turning back to the old man and nodding his head in a very slight bow. "Hey! I'm Masaki I'm going to fight your attackers" he stated, making no attempt to quiet his naturally loud voice. For a breif moment he pictured his academy teacher covering his face in shame, for one thing the academy had failed to teach him was tact. Another image of Zin popped in Masaki's mind, reminding him the trouble he caused if he didnt watch what he said. In an attempt to 'Fix' the problem Masaki added "Sir". It was odd, with Luo and even with Sarutobi sensei Masaki didnt seem to cause such a disturbance. Perhaps his respect gave him a little more control? Or maybe they just put up with it more?
He certainly had a hard time respecting the old man. Not only were the elderly notoriously weak, but the fact he requested an escort was even worse. Then it hit him. How this mission was contradicting every fiber of his being. The weak must be allowed to die for the strong to grow. His face turned sour and his lips sealed. This was so wrong. If Luo hadn't assigned the mission, if Luo wasn't standing with him now, Masaki would have left right then. It seemed his... episode had cost even more than he thought. The fact he even took the mission made him want to hurl. Even if they did get in a fight, would it be worth it? He had accepted the mission, but this was the last civillian escort he would ever agree to.

Gage followed the Mizukage from a distance. Only catching up momentarily if Luo wished to speak to him. There was no problem in keeping up, but Gage didn't feel the need to push anything over the edge. It was best if he stayed to himself. In his head were many thoughts that traveled around in circles. In reality the poor guy still hasn't figured himself out yet.
As the sun began to get lower and lower, Gage's mind began to engross itself deeper and deeper in thought. Only when Luo stopped did Gage remembered about the mission. 'Oh right...' He thought to himself as he tried to collect his thoughts and focus on the current mission. 'Let's transport the cargo and go home...' The thought passed his mimd momentarily and he let it go. The cargo that they were to transport is highly dangerous and would need his full attention and strength. Otherwise, half the village would be nothing more then ruble and Gage would be responsible for thousands of deaths, including the Mizukage himself. He simply wasn't going to give less then one hundred perecent.
Gage looked over the cargo carefully. He knew all too well the explosive power of one explosive tag, but a cart load. He didn't think about it. Only one word crossed his mind. 'Flammable...' Almost all of Gage's jutsu were Katon Jutsu, so he knew the best plan was to stay as far away from the cart as possible. "I hope we don't have to come up with our own plan...' He thought to himself as he looked at the three others standing near him. There was nothing he could think of that would make the cart seem perfectly vulnerable when it really wasn't.
Still debating the thought in his kind, Gage felt an arm reach for him and push him forward. It was Luo. He was obviously introducing Masaki ans Gage, but he had heard nothing of what they had said before. 'Dont do something you'll regret... and show respect...' Gage thought as Masaki introduced himself. "Hello Sir. I am Gage Urashimi. I'll assist in any way I can." Gage said as politely as he could. He wasn't aware of any Mist traditions yet, so he gave the man a polite bow and stood upright, waiting on whatever happened next.

Luo Ushio Pride Of The Mist テキスト翻訳 Suiton| Ina Hassei Ryouken No Jutsu l Fire l Mizukage l Wind l Shark Summoner As usual, Luo suspected whatever Masaki said wouldn't come out as perfect in any way. However, there was effort on his part as he added the 'sir' at the end of his introduction. It seemed Gauge had taken a cue from recent experiences however, giving a polite introduction and a bow to boot. With that out of the way, Luo noticed Mr. Hatano give Masaki a strange look, as if questioning something in the boy's face. He couldn't personally see it from where he stood, but he had a feeling Masaki had a look on his face that struck the man as odd for a moment. Whatever it was Luo allowed to pass since it didn't seem to be anything important, instead focusing at the task at hand. "Alright, well lets get a move on before it gets any darker. Gage and Masaki you'll flank the cart while I bring up the rear. Visibility will be low for us, but for anyone else it'll be the opposite."
Turning to Mr. Hatano Luo remarked, "Unless you have anything else to add, we're ready when you are." Shaking his head and waving his hands in protest, he urged that they press on. Luckily, the tags had not been sealed yet but instead what they had was the special paper needed for them. However, it didn't mean they were any less important than already sealed tags. If someone, anyone got a hold of this many and found someone to seal even a tenth of them, it could spell trouble for a lot of people. It was missions like these that often times Luo found genin didn't really grasp the big picture. It wasn't just this man they were protecting, they were protecting an entire village. Mr. Hatano certainly didn't look strong, but his strength was not physical. His strength, lay packed in crates on the cart that they guarded, a strength neither of the genin or even Luo possessed. One had to realize that strength came in all forms, be it physical, mental, or raw talent. It was how an individual used that strength that determined just how much of a strength it truly was.
As the man hopped into the front seat of the cart to guide the horses and light all the torches, Luo looked at the two genin he brought with him and muttered somewhat in a more hushed tone than he usually used. "No matter what you think of a mission, or of how little importance it may seem to be, never, ever, go into one without knowing you were going to give one-hundred percent. There's a lot you do not yet know about the shinobi world, so take everything you do with a grain of salt. Believe it or not, every mission, all missions, serve an equally important goal. Protecting them." At his last two words, Luo's right arm lifted as he pointed in the direction of Kiri. What he said he did simply to give Gage an idea of the shinobi frame of mind for Kirigakure, and just as well take Masaki out of whatever rut he's been in since the sushi den incident. Either way, what he said was fact, some would say law under him as the Mizukage.
Dismissing them, Luo walked to the back of the cart as it began to move, keeping a slight distance behind it to be able to see on either side of it. Hopefully, this mission would be as easy as any other escort mission.

Masaki had difficulty hiding the expression of disgust on his face when Luo said protecting this man was for the better of the village. He simply could not understand how a frail old man who embodied nothing but weakness, could do anything but bring the village down. Still, he held his tongue and turned to follow when the cart, reminding himself that he had already accepted the mission after all. Luo sat in the cart and Masaki moved to the opposite side of the cart as Gage and began moving into the mist as the Sun was just a sliver on the horizon. In an attempt to calm his frustration, Masaki grabbed his Tonfa and practiced switching between the positions as he walked, while still making an effort to look out for enemies. It would be horrible if he got taken out by an enemy before at least getting a good fight out of the deal.

The introductions didn't take long, nor did the assignments take long. It seemed that the Mizukage had planned the best possible protection pattern that seemed logical to Gage. As long as the Mizukage wasn't visible it would leave to cart looking very vulnerable from the front. Gage liked the idea.
As the cart owner hopped into his cart, Gage spun on his heels to walk towards his position on the left side of the cart. Halfway through, however, Luo spoke in hushed tones to the two genin. The words he spoke hit Gage between the eyes that left a lump in his throat. Usually, Gage didn't get emotional, but something was different about this. He actually took a bit of pride in his work for once; it seemed as if a lot of things were getting into Gage's thick skull...
After the Mizukakge finished Gage simply took his place a few feet in front of the cart and waited. Time would only tell if the mission will be uneventful, but Gage was prepared. All he had to do was keep an out out as best as he could.
