A wave of annoyance at herself washed over Qiuyue as she sensed Lyndon's disappointment. Her eyes were turned downcast and they gazed sadly at the glowing rocks when Lyndon asked her if she was okay. She looked at him, confused, when she remembered the cut on her lip. Her thumb went to the cut ad she applied pressure to it unconsciously and she was slightly startled out of her dazed state when Lyndon handed her his jacket. The sleeve was wet. Qiuyue took it cautiously and sat down on a warm rock. She pressed the sleeve to her lip to stop the bleeding and her nose caught Lyndon's scent still on the jacket. It took all of her willpower to prevent herself from taking in Lyndon's scent of autumn leaves. Her mind drifted.

As she sat, she began to think of Lyndon. He's so disappointed, I bet. I feel like I've let him down... She chanced a glance in his direction. He looked forlorn gazing into the clear waters... so sad. The thought of Lyndon being sad almost made Qiuyue sick to her stomach. Almost as if her heart hurt just thinking about it. Yue's navy blue eyes lowered in determination as she slowly dipped her front hooves into the warm water. It was much hotter than she assumed at first and it took a few seconds for her to get adjusted to the temperature. After a couple more seconds, Yue slid off of the rock and had all of her hooves in the water. It felt very soothing and was quite warm. Yue turned to smile at Lyndon. "C'mon. It's n'ce an' w'rm."

Lyndon was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard splashing next to him. When he looked in the direction of the noice, he saw Qiuyue getting into the warm water. "Y-you really wanna go in with me?" he stood from the rock and made his way over to her and eased his way into the warm pool of water. "This is very warm!" he splashed a little onto Qiuyue. "I'm glad you decided to go into the water." he looked down at his hands, "It's very relaxing..."

He made his way over to the edge of the hot spring and found a rock that was flat and round and in the water just enough to allow his chest to jut from the water if he sat on it. He beckoned Qiuyue with a shaking hand, This seems a little romantic... His cheeks twinged with a reddish hue. "Would you like to sit with me?" he smiled awkwardly at her. She might just want to be left alone. What if she just turns me down again? He ponder these thoughts as he sat in the relaxing water, his mind slowly being put at ease.

Qiuyue smiled when Lyndon got into the water with her. She wanted to cheer him up in any way possible. She couldn't help but utter a little squeal as Lyndon splashed some of the warm water at her. She chuckled and splashed a bit back at him. Some of the water got on her sweater and soaked it, and she was feeling very warm in it. She had best take it off... Qiuyue's eyes lowered suspiciously at nothing in particular, then she looked to Lyndon. "T'rn 'round." She waded her way over to a large boulder in the spring in the water and went behind it to ensure that Lyndon wouldn't be able to see her. Yue pulled her sweater off and folded it neatly on a nearby rock away from the water. She had on a bra as to maintain modesty, and she carefully waded her way out from behind the boulder over to where Lyndon sat.

Yue felt a lot more exposed without her sweater on, but she trusted Lyndon. She sat herself right near her friend and settled herself in the water. In this position, the water came up to almost her chin, but she didn't mind. The warm spring was very relaxing and calming, and she eyes slowly closed. She felt at peace in this quiet cave away from the world and the elements alone... with Lyndon.

Lyndon blushed as Qiuyue sat next to him. S-she's really beautiful... he turned slightly so that she was out of his peripherals. "I'm glad we could spend this time together." he smiled to himself and splashed a little in the water. The fish came a little closer to him so that he was able to see them more clearly. These were fish that he had never seen before, so this kept his eyes off of Qiuyue while the relaxed.

Lyndon slowly closed his eyes. He had began to grow sleepier by the minute. He started to nod off when the water stirred. The hot spring started to rise slightly, then waves formed. They splashed Lyndon out of his light slumber. "Qiuyue? Are you doing that?" He looked toward the middle of the pool as a figure grew larger as it came from the bottom. Lyndon's stomach dropped, "Qiuyue! We have to get out now!"

Qiuyue blushed as she sat beside Lyndon. He looked so handsome in the eerie glow of the rocks. She turned herself slightly so he couldn't see her blushing. Her mind wandered in the warmth of the waters and her eyes closed. She almost felt half asleep when she felt the splashing of the water. Her eyes opened again and she turned to Lyndon. "D'd... d'd you feel tha'?" She looked nervously to the deeper end of the spring and saw a dark figure in the depths. Yue's eyes widened and she uttered a shriek as she scrambled to get out of the water.

She waded as fast as the water and her hooves would allow her. Once she finally got to the shallows, she galloped out of the waters. Compared to the warmth of the pool, the air was very cold and Qiuyue shivered. She looked around for her sweater and saw it... on the rock right near the pool. ...Perhaps she could live without it. In any case, she wasn't going back in that spring, no sir. She shivered again. But with all of the snow outside... I would freeze before I'd be able to get home...

Lyndon made his way out of the hot spring as a creature surfaced before them. It may have been a fish, but it would've been the biggest fish Lyndon had ever seen. It disappeared into the clear water and the water grew calm as if nothing had happened. "That was a surprise!" he laughed slightly to lighten the mood. He noticed that Qiuyue was shivering and wondered where she had put her sweater. He shook the water off of himself as best he could before picking up his jacket and handing it to her. "It might be a little big on you, but you can wear it." he draped it over her shoulders gently.

"I think I'd be best if we stay here until we dry off and warm up." He looked toward the now still water. "And let's stay away from the edge of the hot spring. Wouldn't want that thing to come back!" He shivered a little but felt himself warming up. He layed himself on a hot rock to warm himself. It melted away his tight muscles. He smiled up at Qiuyue, "Are you cold?"

Qiuyue smiled at her friend gratefully as she draped his jacket around her damp shoulders. "T'ank you. An' no... I'm f'ne." The jacket was indeed very big for her, but it was a kind gesture and it was warm. Yue put her arms in the sleeves and her hands in the pockets. Despite the jacket, she still could feel a chill down her spine. What was that thing in the water? A fish, maybe? Or something more sinister? Like... an evil syrin? Or something worse?

The thoughts flooded Yue's mind and clouded her judgment. She wanted to get away from this eerie spring. Fast. She turned to hurry back to the mouth of the cave. She wanted to get out of the cave and brave the storm if she had to. She wanted to go home. Tears began to flood Qiuyue's eyes and her knees buckled from underneath her. She collapsed to the cave floor and began to sob.

Lyndon was quickly at her side. "Are you alright? What's wrong?" He gingerly held onto her and helped her up. His thoughts was filled with worry. "Maybe we need to head back..." Lyndon's fur had been pretty dry, so he didn't have to worry too much about the cold. He certainly wasn't about to go back into that water to get Qiuyue's sweater. She could use his and she seemed to need him right now.

"A-are you crying?" his hands held up her face so that their eyes met. He wiped off some of her tears. Have I made her cry? His mind was twisted with what to do and worry. He held onto her tighter as if she would just, on a whim, run from him and never be heard from again. "Let's get back to the fire..." his voice was just a slight whisper filled with worry for Qiuyue. Why do I care about her so much? He gently put her arm over his shoulders, ready to help her through the cave.

Qiuyue's sobs echoed throughout the cavern and the tears continued to cascade down her face. She felt so confused and angry and depressed and unsure and... The emotions flooded her mind and made her even more confused. She took deep, gasping breaths to try and calm herself, but it was to no avail. Her head began to throb from the crying and Yue felt so depressed and alone. She was lifted and helped up by two firm, but gentle hands: hands that Qiuyue know recognized. As her face was lifted so her eyes met Lyndon's, a ferocious blush crept across her face.

Qiuyue gazed into Lyndon's eyes and they seemed to draw her in. They looked so deep and beautiful... She was shaken out of her daydream soon enough and saw the worry on her friend's face. Oh God... she thought. Am I making him worry? He's worrying... on my behalf? He really cares about me... Yue's eyes gravitated to the ground and she bit her lip once more. This last thought lingered on her mind. He cares about me... Do... Do I care about him? Of course I do. More than he knows. But am I just a friend...? The tears began to flow once more and Qiuyue couldn't take it anymore. Without thinking, she flung her arms around Lyndon and cried into his shoulder. She held on tight to him and did not let go. She never wanted to let go. Never....

Lyndon was surprised by Qiuyue's sudden action. He was stunned; he didn't move or think, he just held his breath. A few seconds later when he realized that he hadn't done anything, he breathed out heavily. She's hugging me... What should I do? His mind tried to search for answers but instead he acted on impulse. He pulled her close to himself; embarrassing her with all his might. He didn't really care if it was a bit awkward, he just wanted to make her feel better.

After a few minutes, which seemed like forever to him, he spoke up. His voice was barely audible, as he whispered to her, "I think I like you..." He kept his arms around her, his face hidden in her hair, He didn't want to see her reaction. It could have possible been that of rejection. There was a pause, he didn't know what else to say. Did I really just say that... Out loud!? He battled and debated in his mind aabout what to do next. Maybe she didn't hear me. He sighed, releasing a bit of his tension.

Qiuyue clung to Lyndon, not wanting to ever let go. She felt so safe here right by him. All of the unsure emotions that plagued Yue's mind dissipated and were replaced by a feeling of comfort and safeness. The tears continued to flow down Yue's cheeks, but instead of being tears of sadness, they seemed to be tears of joy. She had her face buried deep into Lyndon's shoulder and she only barely heard what Lyndon said to her. Her eyes snapped open and stared into nothingness. He... likes me... The eyes slowly closed and Yue drew Lyndon closer to her. The tears kept flowing, but she was smiling.

"I... I l'ke you too..."

Lyndon's heart sang; he was overjoyed. This was truly the perfect moment. Nothing else matter but Qiuyue and the bond they shared. Time seemed to stand still int hat perfect moment, with himself holding Qiuyue close. She actually likes a weird guy like me! He hugged her tight and nestled his head in the crook of her neck, being extra careful not to get his antlers caught in her hair. He closed his eyes and relaxed all his restless thoughts. When he opened them he spotted something in the cave that's buety paled in comparison to Qiuyue, but he thought it would make a great gift.

It took all of his willpower to let go of her. He wanted to hold her forever, but he also wanted to make her happy. Lyndon walked over to a large bolder near where they entered. Hidden in the deep crack was a cave flower blue and yellow in the glow of the cave. It was in full bloom, away from the winter elements it thrived, blooming at night and receiving everything it needed from the cave. He plucked it and put it in Qiuyue's hair, then kissed her on the forehead. He blushed and quickly turned away. "I-it's for you. I knew you liked flowers so..." His voice trailed off into an embarrassed mumble.

Qiuyue felt invincible. She felt as if nothing could happen right now as long as her and Lyndon were here, together. Absolutely nothing could go wrong. Everything... The whole world felt perfect. Yue rested her head on Lyndon's shoulder and drank in his warm scent. The two of them, alone... It felt so perfect. The storm outside, the slight terror of the fish in the water... Nothing mattered anymore now that they were together. Yue's heart felt happier than it had in years. All of her worries seemed to melt away into nothingness, leaving Yue with her feelings for Lyndon nothing but a memory of those worries.

Yue felt Lyndon move slightly. She opened her eyes and lifted her head to look at him and saw him pulling away. With great effort, she allowed him to pull away. With even greater effort, she forced her feelings of disappointment down so they did not show on her face. He turned away and returned with the most gorgeous flower that Qiuyue had ever seen. It was a pale blue that faded to a brilliant pastel yellow. Yue had never seen any flower like it before. Her eyes were locked on it as Lyndon placed it in her hair and, to Yue's immense surprise, kissed her forehead. A familiar blush crept over Yue's cheeks. She smiled.

Lyndon turned away and Yue stepped toward him. Her eyes were filled with emotion and she had a smile on her face. With slow, drawn-out movements, she reached her hand up and lifted Lyndon's chin. Without thinking, Qiuyue stepped forward and gently; ever so gently; placed her lips on his. After a few seconds, she pulled away and whispered to him in a barely audible whisper. "I th'nk... the sn'wst'rm has stopp'd."

Lyndon paused; dumbstruck. He blinked several times and opend his mouth, only to shut it again when nothing came out. His face became hot and his cheeks turned a bright red. Qiuyue had surprised him like no one else had. She was really specially and wonderful. Nothing could come between them, it was only them in their own little world. It took him quiet a long time to comprehine what Qiuyue had said. His mind was void of any thought.

"W-We..." He stuttered nervously as he looked upon her. "You're right, we should go see how it looks out there." He took her hand shakily, squeezing it tight for reassurance that she wasn't going to run off, somehow changing her mind and leaving. He held her hand gently, as if it were as fragile as the flower in her beautiful hair. He started to go in the direction of the open mouth of the cave, willing her to follow.

Qiuyue grasped Lyndon's hand gently, but with a strong support. She never wanted to let go of this feeling and she never wanted to let go of his hand. She followed him dutifully back to the entrance of the cave, the feeling of his lips against hers still fresh in her mind. It was indeed Yue's first kiss, and she never imagined how it felt like. Now that she had experienced it, she knew why couples did it so much. It felt... not nice, but... comforting. Safe, almost. She could still faintly recall the taste of lips on hers, but she focused her mind on what lay ahead.

As they neared the entrance of the cave, Yue felt a small chilling breeze. The snowstorm had indeed stopped, but the snow remained. The fire near the mouth of the cave was burning lowly and there was some snow inside the cave left over from the blizzard. Yue frowned and looked at Lyndon. "So... Wha' do w' do n'w?"
