I can say, having tanked in every dk spec, frost is the best for 5-mans. AoE damage is good and you have more "OH s**t" cooldowns. blood makes a better single-target raid tank since it has good single target threat generation.

my personal favorite spec is blood. you can survive if you accidentally pull aggro and i have even off tanked in my blood spec when the tank was have issues holding aggro in ToC.(the 5-man. that was a really bad run.)

I also like resto druids. those are fun to play as. balance is fun too but resto is my favorite.

So I Was Thinking....

I play a Tree. Makes life fun :>

I actually have two specs for resto, Ones Dreamstate for hardmodes where healing is insane and I need the mana regen, and ones just Max heals for everything else.

Ok Maybe I Wasn't.

I play a discipline priest because I don't find shadow dps fun, and I find holy boring.

I like to play disc because its more of a challenge in a 10m raid than it is being a holy priest and just spamming COH and POM.
I also like discipline because i do a lot of BG's, so my spec works for both raid pve and bg pvp.

I find discipline to be extremely effective main tank healing, and i love to do it. I also like that discipline is a LOT more gear dependent than holy, which means that if i'm good, its because i'm good. Not because i'm playing a class/spec combo that rapes face if throw your cat on the keyboard and let it jump around.

anyways, that is why i play a disc priest.
and also penance is the ******** shittttt. just sayin.

well, with heart strike and "the safety" dance its more of a two-target. cause i know i spam the crap out of heart strike and blast pestilence and blood boil if i have the death rune proc up.

but, yeah, being a blood is nice when the tank goes afk for some reason and you all still want to clear trash til the next boss

So I Was Thinking....

I've heard some decent things about Unholy tanks, Alot better for threat then Blood without having too spam Rune Strike.

Wild Growth > Penance imo ;p

Ok Maybe I Wasn't.

Unholy tanks are good for AoE threat with ebon plague and the damage increase to DnD. though they are decent tanks, frost is just as good and has the defensive abilities so you dont see many unholy tanks.

i could never stand unholy. sure the speed boost was AWESOME when i was mat-farming for titansteel without a fast flier, but the spec itself was just boring, though quick Army is fun. only reason it seems like it would be a good tank is the multiple pets, dodge boost, and cooldown shortening for DnD, but the dodge and DnD you can just bleed over for your frostspec. its what i did

Unholy is ment too actually be without the pet.

Its mainly a Unholy Hybrid tank,
Its OT / AoE tanking. Its nice as raid heals too have an Unholy tank thats AMZ spec for certain fights.

ah.
must me me then. my roommate's dk soars in unholy but i just never really understood the spec or something i guess.

that or just never seen the instant gratification in it. the insane healing/boogie stick of blood and howling blast of frost make them obvious choices and 'un', even though it has a lot more clickables(at least the way i spec) just seems lacking

I used to play unholy, but it was slow leveling so i went blood and haven't looked back. that, and with how much unholy's abilities get changed(SS still sucks), it just isn't worth playing.

i remember one time i was helping a guildie in regNex with my dk a bit after i hit 80 and i had the rune tap glyph and i spammed it so much i had about half the amount healed as the healer XP love that ability so much

hell, when i was running Zul'Gurub on a hordie i made for a friend's server it was the only thing that saved the group after a 80 rogue was mind controlled and killed very healer

ive almost beaten healers in heroics before because they barely need to heal the overgeared tank.
