Hm? He was being addressed by someone? That was odd, he certainly hadn't seen anyone else that he knew more than vaguely milling around.... But a smile came onto his face just the same, and he turned to the woman standing next to him. Ah, this was someone he.... well, granted, he didn't KNOW her well, but she was from his own order. A subordinate, technically, but then again he'd never been one for titles. He didn't like being in command of anything, so unless there was ever some sort of emergency that required it, that fact would never come up. Unlike a certain other pink-haired girl that used Light magic in the guild.... That one was going to need constant supervision now that she was around. And, likely, constant reminders to calm down, for the Goddess' sake.
But Victoria was speaking to him, something about healers and calling? He'd gotten some vague notion that the guild had been asked to assist with... something in this country, but being fashionably late, he hadn't heard any of the explanation. Really, he needed to listen more. And be on time. He wasn't setting a very good example as a Saint. Then again, he hadn't yet figured out why he was a Saint. Honestly, it was probably only because the Lady Saint needed a powerful avatar in this world. It was only proper, seeing as there was a dark god and the Goddess Ashera herself making an appearance. His presence would have to serve as the stand-in for the Saint herself.
And.... Luce? The man blinked at the sight; he'd honestly had no idea it had survived. He'd known, of course, that the morph body he had left posing as himself had been destroyed in an attack by Loki. He hadn't expected that beforehand; but once it had happened he'd assumed that the legendary tome had been lost with it. Of course, he hadn't exactly told the truth to the rest of the guild about his disappearance. He'd covered it up with a story to the effect of "I wasn't dead, I managed to escape and was recovering". And people had seemed to buy it; the only ones who knew the truth for certain were Melethia, his daughter, Isadora, Kishuna, and a certain dark being. Four would never tell, and the last had none to tell, really.
But here was the tome, in better condition than he'd lost it. The man's face cracked into a wider smile, and he nodded softly, reaching out to gently squeeze the woman's shoulder. "That's good, very good," he told her, voice kind. "I have no complaints; clearly you have not taken your responsibilities lightly." He rummaged through his bag; a moment later, he withdrew Aureola reverently, holding it out next to Luce. "But see, I have a tome to take care of already. So, I'd like you to continue to hold Luce for me. And if the situation comes along that you must use it, don't hesitate. Books can be restored; your life cannot. As long as you use it in the name of the Lady Saint, in the protection of life.... That use is acceptable, and encouraged." That being said, Renault stowed his own tome once again, glancing around the area.
"Now, I must ask.... why are we here, exactly?" His face showed momentary confusion in the furrow of his brow, raptor-grey eyes closing for a moment. "To be quite honest, the reason I'm here is because of Is- Lady Isadora, there. I wasn't informed of exactly why we are here. Would you mind explaining, Victoria?"

Before the paladin could expect an objection from Vaida about the meatballs, she suddenly heard a voice delighted to have a tea followed with an apologetic tone about the king's audience. Turning around, Isadora recognized Cornelius as he approached to them.
"Sir Cornelius. It's nice to meet you again." Isadora smiled friendly. Although the paladin had disliked the attitude of the Estarcian nobles due to her last visit, she was quite please to meet Cornelius. During her last visit of trying to get the Estarcian's help, she had several tea time with Cornelius along with Cyric and few others. She was somehow thankful that not every Estarcian shared the same attitude. If she hadn't met Cornelius and the others, she would surely declined to do this mission. Isadora let out a small frown when she listened to Cornelius' explanation of his delay and Cyric's latest battle.
"Oh, dear. Well, inform Sir Cyric that I wish for his speedy recovery. And yes, I'll make sure our healers will heal Sir Cyric and your troops. It's a good thing we've brought our healers with us to heal the injures. Just have your soldiers show our healers to the infirmary." Isadora replied. She then turned to the Learanian guards that were nearby her and informed them to call the healers to follow the Estarcian guards to the infirmary.
Before the paladin could speak further with Cornelius, the general lifted her hand and kissed. It had been years since Isadora had been treated as a lady. And even though she had lived in Learania and was no longer an Elibean noble lady, she still had her manner of a noble. After all, it seemed that the general had no problem about her being a "noble commoner."
"And I'm looking forward to work with you too, Sir Cornelius." Isadora smiled back as she watched the general left to see his ally. After his departure, the paladin saw Alihi came, looking quite professional for her position.
"Yes, we are." Isadora said. "We're about to meet Sir Cornelius in the conference room for tea after he makes a visit to see the Captain of Estarcian guards. I will apologize that their king does not wish to see us right now; but however, Sir Cornelius will give us all the information he can as to what happened in this country. With enough information, you will help the Estarcians turn the tides against their enemy?"
The paladin was unsure of how much information would Alihi need to formulate a plan, but she had full faith in the tactician with her tactics. There was no enemy tactician's skill greater than Alihi and Aidan. And if this unknown force did have a tactician in their size, it would be a challenge to their tactician. She prayed to Saint Elimine that Alihi's skill was greater than the enemy's tactician. After all, the unknown force had managed to subdue one of Estarcian's bases. It would take a great tactic to capture a base than using brute strength and numbers to defeat it. Well, let's hoped that Alihi would be able to put a blockage on the tactician's road.
"Well then, ladies." Isadora smiled at Alihi and Vaida. "Shall we meet Sir Cornelius in the conference room?"

I've been lost in loneliness, of these nights deeper than darkness I want someone to notice now... Because I want to get out of here -Cyric- "For the thousands of times I have said, I am not in need of attention!" The captain barked, jerking his arm away from a few of the healers who seemed more tentative to him then his own soldiers. He pointed to Suou and Vincent who were the most injured out of everyone in the room. Really now, all he came back with were minor scratches. A little bandage here and there and it'll heal in two days. Its not like he was bleeding to his death for crying out loud.
He jerked his arm once more "Enough! I am all right!" Yeesh, anymore of this and Cyric would storm out of the clinic had it not been for Tanya keeping them focused on the main object here.
"Cyric"
He heard from the doorway, left arm lifted up to keep out of reach from a cleric in training trying to heal the minor scratches on him. Cyric blinked, clearing his throat. Cornelius was there, fetching him for the conference with the Learanians suppose. Guess they actually replied...that..came as a surprise to the Estarcian Captain. Never had he expected Learania to agree to help such a snotty country when they refused to help them.
Well, they came with help..that's all he could ask for. Who was the on in charge of the campaign, Cyric wondered. Oh, think about this later, just go.
He followed Cornelius down the hallway, being filled in on every details that he had missed while he was gone and the things he needed to know now before the talk. The double doors came in view and the doors were offered open by the soldiers. Oh? It was Dame Isadora, my, it sure has been a while since he actually sat down and had tea with her. But now wasn't the time for such a thing anyhow..she was accompanied by two other ladies that the captain sure was not familier with.
"Dame Isadora" Cyric greeted with a light bow. "My apologies, I did not mean to make you ladies wait." it made him wonder how long they were here..Isadora wasn't still hung up on the formalities toward him were they? Please, he suggested that be dropped when they first met. After all, Cyric hated formalities to begin with...well....formalities with him at least, to others it just polite.

"Aidan...why, for some reason, do I get this sudden feeling that I'm abou' to get food poisoning?" Lance said as he tried to recollect Aidan, while paying no heed to Blossom's outburst about her new bra size.
Lance stared intently at the mug of water that was handed to him. As if inspecting it for a few seconds, he finally turned to Blossom again. "How do I say this...I appreciate the gesture, but taking someone else's water mug, tha' we don't know what kind of ailments that person might have, isn't that challenging the odds of getting me sicker? Besides, I don't really feel like getting the taste of water righ' now..."
He sighed as he rubbed his eyes. Then he looked at her again. "Are you sure we're not engaged or somethin'? I can't remember the last time I got this pampered when sick by a pretty girl...maybe slowly going insane has its good points too...although, death at the end of it doesn't sound too well either, so maybe I shouldn' get too comfortable with it...I am thankful for the hospitality, but I don't really think my illness is much of an issue righ' now..."
The question of food brought up a new line of thought to him. "I'm not certain of my hunger...but maybe something to chew at would make me feel better...if not, how about some spirits, I mean, fighting one memory loss with another, getting smashed on alcohol migh' actually be a cure..."
He meant the alcohol comment to be a joke, but his tone didn't change at all from earlier so it probably didn't come across as it.

I've been blessed with the gifts of the gifts of the Lady Saint, so show me some respect! It's not every day you find a rarity like me.₪Victoria₪ Hearing Renault's permission for Victoria to keep the Luce tome was reassuring, for the most part. Even though the two weren't all that personal with one another, one bishop should be able to trust another. The way that the good Father spoke to her meant that there was the mutual trust that came between Orders of Elimine. It was especially important that they both continued their faiths in Learania so that the legacy of Saint Elimine wouldn't fade from those who came from Elibe and found out that the Goddess was more widely worshiped there.
"I'll continue to watch over this then... I can see you're proud of the onw who owns it now." Victoria loved the fact that her ego was being catered to, even if the feeling was only small. Everyone liked to be told they did a good job with something, and if watching over something sacred as Luce was something she was good at, Victoria was closer to Elimine than a lot of the others who were so careless, they broke the highly durable Lightning tomes and Heal staves. The bishops who treated the light like it was a mere commodity didn't understand it at all.
By the look and sound of him though, Renault didn't know the reason behind the call to arms. Since he was a fellow bishop, one even higher than her, she had to explain what he asked. "I don't know all the details, but this country, Estarcia sent a call for help after they were overwhelmed by some kind of powerful foreign force. The healers were called first, because there are so many who are injured by this army, whoever they are."
And there was the memory, yet again. There would always be armies like Bern, the 'evil empire' back in Elibe that would try to take everything from everyone in front of them and never give them a choice. They were on the rise again, in the form of this unknown, powerful force that was sweeping across Estarcia like the floods of torrential rain. These powerful newcomers didn't know that they had just made the battle with this bishop personal, and Victoria took her personal conflicts far more seriously than anything else.ΘжElmine's LightжΘ If you are my ally, fear not, for healing is on your way! If you're my enemy, you'll be purged, and dead you shall stay.

...Injured with pain and sadness, the you that cannot be healed Shoulder the burden of the past that cannot be erased; don't throw away your will to live...[ X ][ O ]Blossom[ O ][ X ] →Blossom couldn't help but laugh. Even to an amnesiac man, Aidan's inability to even boil water properly was astonishingly memorable. Blossom rubbed his back gently, still thinking it would help, but she simply nodded to his comment on the water. Okay, then. At least now no one will be too angry with me. She gently place it back down where she had picked it up; no one had noticed that it was gone.
Blossom shook her head gently at him, using one hand to again brush his bangs away from his face. "No. No, we aren't engaged," she told him quietly. "But you are my friend, a good friend, and even if you don't think that you being sick is very important, I'm concerned and I'd like to fix it."
The Hero prodded his chest once, right in the sternum. "And you, sir, are not going to die right here. And you are going to get over this memory loss and turn back into your wacky, mildly perverted self. If I don't see that goofy grin on your face within the next hour, mister, then I am going to be very disappointed in you and I will have to do something about your belligerence."
She paused. Food sounded good to him? Excellent, that was something. Blossom rose to her feet, brushing her skirt down to make sure it covered everything properly. "All right. I'm going to get you something to eat. No alcohol, you'd probably end up getting worse. Now, don't move. I'll be right back."
The brunette disappeared, skirt fluttering slightly as she ducked and weaved through the crowd. She was back in less than ten minutes, carrying a large sandwich and a folded blanket draped over her shoulder. She placed it down on his lap--"In case you need it," she clarified--and then held out the plate for him to take. "Eat. Ham and cheese. I hope you like tomatoes, because I added those in. You look like you could use the spot of healthy fare."← You'd better forget everything. Remember. . . your different Life?XXX You'd better forget everything. Lance chuckled quitly with his mouth closed, so it sounded more like a sharp exhalation. "If this is how you trea' your friends, I wonder how you trea' Aidan...is that why you got your breasts changed?"
Lance relaxed his shoulders upon getting the backrub. "So I was mildly perverted back in the day? Difficul' to see that now...I feel like a person with a mild autistic condition..."
She left on his behalf of getting food, which he appreciated, so when she came back, he smiled. "Shame about the booze, but some grub would feel ni--..."
He stopped at being handed a handkerchief. "...thanks, but I don' think it will be necessary to keep me from getting myself dirtied. I am not a baby, and it still be a while before I need adult diapers. Nice choice on the sandwich, let's just hope it wasn' poisoned."
With a large bite, he took off a part of the sandwich with a delighted chew, contemplating his next move with each bite, in his own way.

At the handkerchief comment, her brow furrowed. "No, it's a blanket. I wasn't sure if you would want it or not, what with you being ill and keeping warm is a good way to help that... are you warm enough in front of the fire?"
Blossom simply sat in silence as he ate, folding her arms across her lap. She studied the gauntlets on her forearms, once reaching up to adjust the hat on top of her head. It wasn't until he finished eating that Blossom spoke up again. "You know, if you don't feel that well, you probably ought to stay here until you've recovered... unless you feel like you could take combat with the rest of the company."
She brushed her long bangs behind her ears. "Though you look like the food helped a lot."← You'd better forget everything. Remember. . . your different Life?XXX You'd better forget everything. Remember. . . though, we cannot returnXXXLike in times of warped memories, we can understand somedayXXX

In the conference room, the paladin and the two ladies were waiting for the Estarcian general and captain to arrive. Somehow, Isadora wished that the Estarcian guards to do a strip body search on Vaida. Who knew if the Wyvern Lord had managed to sneak the meatballs into the tea snacks while they were waiting?
Before the paladin could investigate the tea snacks, she heard the double doors opened. Turning around, she saw Cornelius and Cyric entered. She saw that Cyric was lightly bandaged. That was good news to see that he wasn't in critical condition. It would be badly if he was.
"No need to apologize, Sir Cyric." Isadora smiled as she walked toward the Estarcians. The paladin somehow remembered that the Captain of Estarcian guards disliked the formalities. Why bother being so formal to those when being friends? However, she had to address him properly with others who didn't know him or cared about the "high society."
"Alihi, Vaida, this is Sir Cornelius, General and bodyguard of King Chanticilier. And next to him is Sir Cyric, Captain of the Estarcian Guards." Isadora introduced as she stepped aside to let them see each other in full view. She then raised her hand toward Vaida. "Gentlemen, this is Vaida, Captain of the Learanian Guards. And over here is Alihi Kaua, one of our greatest tacticians. I assure you that her skill is very talented and has never failed us during the battles. Now then, shall we discuss what is happening in Estarcia and create strategies against this unknown force?"
Before they marched toward the table where there were papers and a map on top, Isadora strolled next to Alihi. She then whispered to the Tactician. "Alihi, I know this may tired and stress you after what happened in October. However, you're the only tactician available to help these Estarcians. Even if the Estarcians have their own tacticians, I believe their talents are not as great as yours. So if you have questions about the strategy or need more information about the enemy or the Estarcian's military and resource, please feel free to speak up. There's nothing to be afraid about. Besides, you have us to help you if you want."

Roy kept to himself. He had his own problems to deal with, and preferred to solve them his own way. After all, it was his own heart he had to question. He wasn't suffering from amnesia, like Lance, nor was he cold, nor was he in a gambling mood. Hell, he just didn't see like involving himself with any of the others at the moment.
Isadora, Vaida, and Alihi had gone off somewhere, probably to talk tactics with the Estarcian nobles. Mel was warming up by the flames, Lance and Blossom were talking, and it seemed as if the sword general (Ashnard), a sword user (Edward), and Joshua were talking amongst themselves. Probably gambling, if Joshua was involved.
Roy sighed and closed his eyes, sitting against the wall and holding the Steel Sword close to him. Time to get some answers from my heart... he told himself.

Well what’s so bad about a little coin toss now and then?
The Tempest King Ahhh come on. Live a little! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm betting my happiness life on this one "Easy we start once all the umbers have been chosen," Joshua winked, "Personally I'll choose two and four, also my names Joshua." He addressed Edward; "I don't think I got yours" The swordmaster lightly began tossing the die up and down in his palm as he looked over his opponents. The Ashnard fellow looked like losing would only encourage him to bet more and more until he was bone dry, the gambler would have no problem taking his money it'd be a lesson on to bet less next time. But the mrymidon looked dirt poor... he'd need encouragement and perhaps the feeling of winning a few times to get him hooked.... normally Joshua would feel a little bit bad over taking such easy marks money but repairs to the place he had found would be expensive..... He couldn’t afford feeling bad for them. "So, you're a professional gambler? Ashnard asked the swordmaster, "If that's the case, I'd like to look over your die. I don't take unfair chances." The former king knew how these people work. They cheat so they take all your money.. More than likely, Joshua would let Ashnard and the new guy win a little bit to fuel them, then put them on a losing streak.. I'll not be cheated out of my money if I'm going to lose it all. I'd much rather go out knowing it was fair. The Sword General shifted a little in his seat. Not knowing when he'd be called into battle, Ashnard refused to remove it.

In all honesty, Elly had been left alone, sitting in the corner with the steel bow in her lap. The string wasn't connected and she was too busy fiddling with the feathers at the end of an arrow. They were asked to wait while Isadora, Alihi and that Wyvern lord they called Vaida to return from their meeting with the Estarcian group. She lifted her head, observing the room. Everyone accounted for was simply chatting or doing something to entertain themselves during the way. But wait, what's this? Roy was alone? Hadn't Melethia joined them in this quest? Why was she not with the red-head? Elly looked around, seeing no sign of the girl and stood up. She shuffled against the floor a little and moved toward the teen "..Do...do ou mind if I take a seat here..?"Asking out of curiosity. She heard no word come from him, anyhow, she took the seat, a little away from Roy but close enough where she wouldn't slap him out of reflex. "...Should I ask what's wrong..?" pondering the thoughts, her head turning back to the boy every 15-20 seconds to see if there were any changes. Obviously not if he was so lost in though. Elly inched over a little bit more, raising a hand up to her mouth like she was about to whisper and then "Hey!"

The Tempest King Ahhh come on. Live a little! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm betting my happiness life on this one Joshua sighed as the big guy asked to see the die, "No problem," he flicked the die at Ashnard who most likely caught it. Ashnard could look at that die for as long as he wanted, there wasn't anything wrong with that one. The several hidden in places that he could easily switch the real die with were though, but Joshua only used those in emergencies..... he'd been throwing dice for many years and had learned a technique to nine times out of ten get the number he wanted. And if Ashnard caught on and started wanting to throw dice then that wasn't a problem either, one it was an insult to ask the gambler if they could throw the dice, two if Ashnard still insisted he had a special die for him. "Smart man, checking the die. No need to worry though its not rigged, so come on! Lets see the colour of your money."
