Not exactly a squeal. But it didn't sound like the sort of blood-curdling shriek that precluded a vicious pummeling. Maybe Yulu did have some sense after all. Not enough to go to a healer when it was necessary, but enough not to make his life more difficult now that he'd gotten her off the ground. It wasn't as though she was one of the delicate little ladies he preferred to sweep off their feet. She was relatively solid, and there was definitely muscle. Which wasn't actually ideal, since muscle tissue is denser and thus made her heavier.
"So...I really appreciate that you're not doing anything to make this more difficult," Tofir remarked as began walking briskly. The brisk wasn't really a matter of preference, but rather necessity. He knew his limits, and the infirmary would be pushing them if he took a leisurely pace. "And I really appreciate that you haven't hit me yet."
Maybe putting the idea into her mind if it wasn't already there was unwise, but maybe the fact that she was being transported to the infirmary and had a firelizard on her lap would convince her to resist any violent urges until her leg had been looked at and cleaned by a healer. After that, if she still felt like punching him, he would take care to stay out of range.
Shiv fluttered after them and expressed to Song that he was every bit as confused as she. His human didn't usually pick others up. In fact, Shiv had never seen him do that before. A flash of thought crossed his mind: maybe Tofir was going to eat Yulu. But she hadn't been cooked or anything, and he knew his human was a picky eater. Nope. He had no idea what was going on at all.

"I've been trained how to carry a person....as well as how to be properly carried."
Yulu's answer seemed forced, as if she were trying to remind herself that self-control in this situation would prevent her from wanting to hit the person carrying her off towards the infirmary. While she would rather chew firestone on her own then be carried like she was - like some kind of helpless girl - she knew that any type of protest would end with her on the ground and an all out brawl following. Yulu wasn't sure she could take Tofir in a fight - he was bigger than her after all.
Her arms slowly moved from where they were frozen against her hips to around his neck, her weight shifting slightly to provide an easier time being carried. She knew she wasn't light, she was solid, and she was mildly surprised at how well Tofir was carrying her along. What surprised her even more is how he actually touched her to move her, what with how he'd clearly shown signs that he disliked touching others. Hadn't they even talked about that?
" . . . . .This is rather funny. I thought you didn't like touching people."
Yulu spoke softly as they moved, her head down and turned away from Tofir's frame. She was being pretty mild, in fact growing milder as they went along, though the Gold mess in her lap was another story.
The moment Shiv replied that perhaps his person was going to eat her person there was an all out feeling of terror that issued in the tiny flitt body, echoing in Yulu who looked down with a puzzled expression. All the woman could understand was sudden fear and perhaps a desire to protect, and she had no time to question anything as Song quickly moved her head and took a nice snap at Tofir's torso.
If her little teeth connected Yulu couldn't tell, instead she was staring rather shocked.

"Oh, of course you have. So sorry," Tofir replied. The eye-rolling was implicit.
"Because it's not as if people who're trained to save others in water don't forget not to struggle when they need saving themselves. Or anything. Not that I'm viewing this as saving." That last part was tacked on hastily. He couldn't help thinking in the back of his mind that he might be saving her. If any sort of infection set in...
And the consequences of infection were put out of his mind when Yulu moved reluctantly to put her arms around his neck. He could definitely sense her reluctance, and knew that the best thing he could do would be to not remark on it, or seem to otherwise notice it. But a very large part of him, the part that didn't like to be touched, wanted to flinch. The fact that she mentioned his dislike for contact was a bit of unusual timing.
"Wherever would you get that idea?" Tofir asked through gritted teeth. They were nearly to the infirmary, and even with the improved distribution of weight it felt like a long, long way to go. His arms were getting tired. He locked his elbows and bore up, reminding himself that she was trying to be helpful, and that if she hadn't done something, he might not have made it to this far.
"Pretty girls are welcome to...Shards! Call off your cursed attack monster, will you?"
Shiver whistled at Song censoriously. That was his human she was biting. She shouldn't do that. It wasn't nice. He squeaked and chittered furiously, letting her know exactly how rude it was to sink one's teeth into other 'lizard's people. That was his person! How would she like it if he bit her person? Not that he would, because that would be disgusting, her being all raw and uncooked.

Yulu was thankful they were pretty close to the infirmary by the time Song decided to act like she was much larger than a new shell Gold, her little teeth letting go of Tofir's torso the moment Yulu shifted her legs. It was an easy jump out of the older youth's arms as she wriggled her way free, one of her hands smartly moving to hold Song this time, and as she landed on her leg she gave a mild wince but showed no other signs of open discomfort. She pulled the still slightly upset flitt closer to her chest, trying to send as much reassurance as she could. Inwardly though, she was laughing.
"Okay, okay. It'll probably be best if we separate here then, to keep our reputations someone in tact. I'm not sure how I could try to fix any gossip amongst the healers, they're more chatty then a bunch of old men talking about the weather."
She was dead serious about not wanting anyone else to see her, not to mention she was certain Tofir had had enough of her since he'd been bitten, so it was certainly time to part ways. Her fill of company had been finished for the day and now thanks to her leg and the scratches on her stomach she would get out of doing chores as well. It was entirely win/win. . . in her favor.
"You should get that bite looked at though, just not when I'm here. I'm sure a big guy like you can handle a little bit of teeth now and then. Just make sure you get it clean, wouldn't want it to rot out."
Her last words were said as a stabbing pun as she turned to limp off, not even looking over her shoulder to say goodbye. Song did though, a small whistle towards the blue Shiver, with thanks for their person and his company. She wanted to see them again soon!
