I didn't put it up in the title this time, just a small post. <.<;; So i thought I'd just post a small update~ If anyone would like to submit a tektek for this last challenge, please do so within the next few hours. This contest closes tonight.

     Wow, you all rock. You all went for the blue/purple/green color scheme. o -o And a weird green, at that. Except for Kumi. ;P (okay, you rock too.)
But.. wow... That base was so weird because I wanted to give you guys a versatile base. You could have hidden the purple hair with a wig to get rid of purple and make things easier. You could have hidden the shorts with a skirt and gotten rid of green. You could have done both at the same time and just have been stuck with blue... But you all actually took the hard way. I was looking forward to seeing how you guys would alter the color scheme... but yeah, now I'm glad you didn't since these all look so awesome. :} I'm just surprised that no one used a green bug zapper. XD;;
Amitia; I like the challenges for that reason too. :3 A chance to make a little bit of gold while having fun tekteking. I like the bit of style. If it weren't for the plaid in the hat, it matches really well. Annnndddd I soo never paid attention to the cache shoes. I didn't know there were green shoes with a purple stripe. xD Perfect. I'm on the edge of saying that there's too much empty space on the legs, but it does match up pretty well with the amount of skin showing up top. I think it needs more light blue at the feet to balance the hair and shirt. I know it's not easy, but it's missing. > <
It's looks great for the style, but you used three poses from one item: The masquerade (bangs, eyeliner, lips).
dreamish; If the perfect shoes exist, you gotta use 'em. (: Um, being really really picky, I want to see green in the area at the top of the socks. I know that's impossible unless one of the green handhelds sit in the right spot. XD Nice use of items.
Kumi; Indeed, cluttered. It is funny that all your tekteks have been cluttered so far since the outfits you wear are usually very simple. very nice use of items and layering. Rules say that you can only use two poses from any one item. I think you got too into your work to notice that you used three poses from The Nightmare (hat, tie, belts). Tsk tsk. :B
Ameana; I like how you went for it and added orange to the already crazy mix. o: And the colors are pretty well spread out and balanced. The layering is odd here and there, though I won't fault you for it. The anklets would layer under the legwarmers. The paper cat band would layer under the field cap. ... What I will fault you for is using two shirts. > < That layering is pretty easy to guess. It's too bad that layering can't happen because the avatar does look great.
babs; I like how you used the automaton leg. Very resourceful. The avatar is nicely balanced. With a green neck item, I think it would be near perfect. :3 You have on two pairs of earrings, but that could be excusable as just forgetting because they're so small. But, you used three poses from one item: The Masquerade (lips, blush, eyeliner).
I love 'em all, but dreamish wins this round. :3

Clarification:
In the rules I set for the challenge, I said you can use no more than three items from any one set. This means you wouldn't be able to use a glamrock headband, a glamrock shirt and glamrock pants in the same avatar.
I also said you can not use more than two poses for any one item. This applies to items that have more than one pose. So, in other words, for items with multiple poses, you can only equip two of those items at once. EIs are popular multi-pose items. The best match to an EI is often itself. > < So for that reason, I wanted to limit it to two.
I know it's easy to get lost in EIs.. so.. remember to double check the amount of each item you used before you submit your tektek. x3

I'll edit this post with the next base. For the record, I never made a tektek for the last challenge. I was going to cover both the hair and the shorts just because I could. ...but there's no use in doing that since there's very little challenge at that point. And I don't want to attempt a purple/green/blue tektek right now. x ---x I have all of your good ideas in my head.

Ehhh this challenge ends 02/19/10.
You may remove the default boxers.
Remember that you can't remove the skin or wig... so you're stuck with that hair and skin tone. (:

I'd just like to say that there are two different layers for earrings.
While most earrings remove each other, the Yemaya's Pearl earrings layer over the other earrings. This can be used for a lot of different fun effects.
I still haven't been able to make a single decent avatar out of these week's base. The fact that it has several shades of orange (being orange one of the hardest colors to use in Gaia) in several different textures, it's a real challenge.

Oh damn, I forgot to double-check! I totally forgot about the lips. >.<;; I was fighting with it for a long time so I got sort of ignorant about the items I first added and ended up triple-using Masquerade. -____-;; Bleh... It annoys me so much now. x'D I was so careful with the first two avatars! But at least I'll triple-check from now on and won't make the same mistake again. >.<;;
Oh that new challenge looks tough. O.O I'll try to work with it tomorrow!

dreamish; ^^ I know there are multiple earring layers. :3 The earring from the Nestegg layers over most earrings, and I have a pair of pumpkin earrings that layer under other earrings.
Thing is, both earrings used on that tektek were gold shop earrings. And to my knowledge, all gold shop earrings are on the same layer. > < Or at least should be assumed to be on the same layer.
There have been other layering problems that I've overlooked. ...Things that you only know if you own the items. Like from the second challenge, the zoku inari's beads necklace is on the same layer as reversible bracelets. @ .@ But who would guess that? So I didn't fault people for not knowing the layering. I will fault for other obvious errors like equipping two handhelds in one hand. (Though these are tekteks, so if someone says that they want the item held in the other hand but tektek doesn't allow it, that would be excused.)
Thanks for the tip about the yemaya's pearl earrings. :3 I'll try to remember that layering.
@ Amitia; It's all good. No worries. The masquerade is just that good. o wo Part of me wants to exclude the masquerade from the rule... but.. well... hopefully we'll get other makeup items soon. ; .;
@ The new challenge;
XDD I know right? This one's a pain. I tried to complete it last night and came into difficulties. ... I shouldn't have added that darn scarf. My tektek was going okay until I could not figure how to get red into it. And not just red... but.. that exact shade of red. D; Ugh.
Hopefully you guys haven't attempted something yet with that one. I'll tweak it a bit.
I know orange is difficult to work with and I chose a hard shade so.. I was planning to be more lenient this round. I just wanted something tough this round.. maybe too tough... I'll tweak it...

I wanted to make these challenges semi-realistic. It'd be like someone came to you and asked for help with completing their outfit.
At first I was going to make these challenges in a different format. I make bad outfits, you guys get free range to fix them. Problem is, that format is just way too free. This format at least makes sure that the finished outfits have common some ground.
My goal on the last one was semi-realism. Sometimes people have really hard requests. XD But... yeah.. the difference is that, in those situations, you miiiight be able to get the person to remove an item or two. Here you can't. And sorry for making you guys work with orange again. The last shade of orange I had you guys use was at least more common. This one's not as easy, but the stockings were calling out to me. @ .@ So, uh, yeah.. I promise to stay away from orange for a while.. after this round.
This version is at least workable.
Note: For male avatars, stockings sometimes layer under socks. That's not the case here. I tested it. These mizuchi stockings are on the sock layer.

@Babs; Those purple quartz earrings do not layer with the orchid record earrings. > < I know they don't. It wasn't a big deal. I was just mentioning it. Maybe you were thinking of another pair? Or perhaps they layered like that a few months ago and changed recently? I've only owned a pair of quartz earrings for a couple months now, but they do not equip with my record earrings and I've owned them for years. XD; (Though I rarely use 'em anymore since my hair covers my ears so layers could have changed in the past several months. But at this point in time, those two earrings equip on the same layer.)
