Like she wasn't expecting him to totally want to give a go-over to ANY guy she had a thing for? What kind of little sister did he take her for? It didn't matter because she didn't have a crush on anyone. And certainly not a puppy-eared haired boy who totally made her heart beat race like a chariot race on the moon (what?).
"I do not have a crush on him!" she countered defensively. "I mean really, 'Nacio, I don't have time for things like crushes and romance. Not if I want to get anywhere with my music." Couldn't she do so now? Probably not with a year of her life missing.
"Music first in my life, you know that." Wasn't that changing now? Wasn't she trying to make more of her life and this second chance instead of losing time to nothing but cello practice? Her heart screamed yes, that she needed to see more of the wonderful world around her and to meet more people, to make more friends in this life. Reality and her love for music, however, were arguing a different point.
She needed a way to change that.

The fact that she was insisting that she didn't have a crush made him more convinced that she did have a crush, obvious by the way he was crossing his arms with an absolutely amused expression. True, music was one of the first things in her life, but, "That doesn't mean that you can't have a crush, Sis. I mean, Papa must've had a crush at some point if he and my mother are together, and Papa's more of a career man than anyone I've ever met."
What was he even doing now, anyway? Ignacio had never really paid enough attention to his ramblings while he was at the table and not giving Disappointed Lectures. ...Well, didn't matter anyway, Ignacio wasn't living with him anymore anyway. So, instead, he carried on. "Besides. I've never seen you get that red unless you're embarrassed about something." He leaned in a little closer, still with a ridiculously amused smirk on his lips.
"So. When can I talk to him more?" Now that the crush was mutual, Azzo really needed to be drilled.

Oh if her face could get any redder! Bah, older brothers were totally over rated. But she had to admit she loved the fact he was only giving her playful grieve about it. However, she still didn't even know if it was a crush. How would some one know of such feelings anyway?
A mock pout came to those painted lips. "The chances of me ever seeing him again are slim to none you know," was the sulking reply with an unsaid "much to my dismay" tacked on in here some where. "I don't even know what school he's going to. But I guess if you can get that information you can talk to him whenever you'd like."
And then her cellphone went off and she blinked, glancing down to her coat pocket. Pulling it out she glanced to see if it was call or text, when it was proven to be text she read it and sighed. Apparently she was out for too long and her mother was starting to get worried. Another pout, this one not so mocking.

"He goes to this place," he gestured behind him to the Meadowview school building, "like me. Sure I could find him if necessary, but I'd like seeing how he acts with you around." There was the way someone acted, and then there was the way someone acted around their girlfriend. Ignacio knew this all too well from watching his father and mother interact; he still didn't understand how Papa went from angelic around Mama to b***h king from hell when he was around.
Ignacio watched Melody take out her cell phone and had to admit to himself that he was a little relieved. The sooner she left, the less likely she would start to pick up on his lies. "Ms. Klein?" asked Ignacio, assuming that was why she was pouting more realistically than she was before. "Guess it's time for you to go, then."
Usually, he'd protest a little bit more, but for now he had excuses. "I have to go shortly anyway. This is around when Ma's Saturday shift starts." She hadn't had a Saturday shift before, but this must have been what Ignacio was talking about with 'taking on more hours' earlier. Mr. Araya did tend to be out all day Saturday.

Melody looked up at the building thoughtfully, ignoring the text for a moment, curious. He went to Meadowview? Maybe, just maybe, she'd see him again then? A hint of a smile before she shook her head and sighed.
"Well if you happen to see him when I come to see you after school, then, maybe you'll get your chance." And with that she shut the cellphone and shoved it back into her pocket. She was curious as to why he wasn't protesting, but ignored it for now. He probably was hiding a hot date or something.
"And no, it was papa. Momma's be secretly overly protective since the whole school thing, and he was reminding me that I may have been out too long for momma's liking. So yea, I should probably go."

A hot date? Ignacio wished! There was a certain man he had his eyes on for the moment, a certain Grayson Graves, but that was another story he didn't particularly care like elaborating after he had embarrassed himself so badly. Stupid Never... but he'd defeat it. Eventually.
"Maybe I will," said Ignacio, with a typical Ignacio-styled grin. He'd just have to make sure Melody was coming on a certain day and then locate Azzo and force him to come. He took a class of Earth Science too, with the same teacher. Ignacio could probably find him after his class and force him to meet with him after school...
This was planning for later, though, providing he even remembered his plan. "Alright. Well, have a good night, Mellie. I'll see you soon, alright? Don't let the crazy one," that was her mother, Ignacio meant it in jest to some extent, "bother you too much. I'm heading home too."

"All right," she smiled, unaware of his plans to try and get Azzo to show up one day when she visited him after school. Moving foreword, too quickly for him to protest, Melody kissed Ignacio's cheek. "Be careful on your way home, hm? The radio and news stations have been talking about more monster attacks and I'd hate for you to get caught up in it."
Ah just like her to worry for his safety. Never mind she was walking home too and likely with a longer way to go then he. Turning to leave she bid him a farewell, and a small laugh at his joke about her mother before waving. It didn't take her long to be out of his line of sight, happily on her way home to keep her own mother from going gray with worry about being out on the streets (it was really only fun to make Ignacio's mother gray with their antics anyway).
As such he was safe from her finding out about his career move to being a bum for now. With a happy little hum she started for home, glad to have been able to see her brother again.
