The grey nodded with a small smile. "Hige and Loki's pack is right by the sea. Sometimes it seems there is more water than land."

He looked ahead as they walked. "Any place with water was always meant a fun time when I was a pup too." He recalled that time of his youth fondly.

"So we have that in common." He looked at her. It was then that he could smell the scent of fresh water. "And I think the spring is right over there." He grinned, his tail moving slightly.

Talia felt herself smile quietly, it seemed like it, indeed. A pack that lived by the sea? That seemed a new notion to her. She'd never heard of that before, that is. It did sound nice, however...

"The ocean? ..." She'd never seen it before, never been near a body of water that was as large as that from what she'd been told. Her mother had compared an ocean to a thousand lakes all gathered together, and you couldn't even see land on the other side, no matter how far into the horizon you looked! "Man, I've never seen it before, mother said that there was one near our lands but fat-"

She stopped, thinking about Chen's controlling ways was one thing, but talking about him with Tsume, well... She felt ashamed whenever she thought too much about how he'd controlled her for so long, who they saw, where they went, what they did, who with, when, what they ate, everything. It drove her to become her own person, to subconciously defy every principle that he tried to force on them, especially when it came to choosing a mate.

"I've never actually been." She smiled. She knew he wouldn't have missed her verbal fumble, and didn't try to hide it, but she didn't explain either. Not yet.

As they approached the spring she perked a bit, smiling more and wagging her tail with a n** at her mate before she went forward to relieve her thirst.

Tsume watched Talia closely as she headed over to relieve her thirst with the cool water. He hadn't missed the way she had stopped herself mid sentence, and he was curious as to what she had wanted to say. But he knew better than to push her. With his own past being omething he tried not to remember he was not going to try to make her tell. This was something she had to do on her own, when she wanted to.

Instead he joined her, lapping up the refreshing water. Only when he felt completely refreshed did he settle down right on that spot, resting his muscles. "Well since we're already going there... I'll show it to you."

He spoke nochalantly, letting her now that he was going to wait until she was ready to tell. And until then they would simply keep going on, taking things as they came.

Talia appreciated that, it was really odd, she'd only just met Tsume a week ago but she felt so comfortable with him, and in such a short time it seemed like they'd grown on one another. He was awfully considerate, despite any first impressions one might get from their first meeting.

She whined softly in response and rested her head on his paws as she settled next to him so that their sides touched.

"Sounds like a date," She sighed, resting her eyes as well as her body.

They had been on the move for three days now, alternatly running or walking, however they felt like really. It wasn't like they were in a hurry. Tsume had enjoyed traveling with his mate greatly. But now they were getting close. It was easy to notice in their surroundings, the green in the trees had just a slight different hue, and the air had a different kind of freshness to it.

And of course now so close to the pack Tsume became quiet and thoughtful again. They still had some way to go he knew, but he couldn't control his stray thoughts.

He looked over at Talia curiously. Not everyone was capable of sensing the small differences this area brought, but Talia knew where they were heading, so she probably had. And he wanted to see what she thought about this place.

Three days travel with Tsume had been like a vacation she didn't realize she'd needed. She'd never been able to shake the excitement, and really, she didn't want to! She really enjoyed the last three days and nights, running under the stars until settling down for sleep, traveling from pre-dawn hours until finding shade from the afternoon sun, then resuming again after a rest until night fell.

As the scenery began to change, Talia was more aware of the richness in the air than the trees, and it showed for a moment when she inhaled deeply and exhaled softly. "Are we close by?" She inquired, gazing about now and noticing the change in the land. Indeed the leaves were richer, more pine trees were coming into view, and the trees looked more thick, closer together like the two of them had traveled during parts of the trip. The she-wolf looked rather curious, taking in the sights, sounds, and smells. The mountains loomed up on their right, she'd never seen mountains before either, and the sounds of a steadily flowing river also began to etch it's way into their ears on the right, as though accompanying the mountains.

Tsume nodded in answer to Talia's question, taking in the sight of the mountains that had been his home. It felt good coming back he noticed, even though he hadn't exactly missed it. It was just the return to something that felt familiar.

"We'll be there soon. The river that you can hear actually runs through the packs territory."

He kept close to her now, his body alert as they drew closer. He didn't think anything would jump them, but better save than sorry. And that was also why he announced his presence to the two Alpha's, as well as telling them that he had brought another wolf with him.

He listened to his howl as it echoed in the mountains. This way Hige and Loki wouldn't be surprised when he suddenly showed up again.

Talia didn't mind the proximity. She had only ever been told of behavior while in the presence of other packs, and vaguely understood that he must be a little uncertain, or maybe he was just playing it safe. She allowed her tail to lower to a more respectable stance, not wanting to offend the alphas by showing more dominance than they. Some of them could be very touchy about that, as she'd seen in her father's new mate, and heard from the others in their pack.

She simply looked to her mate as he called into the forest to announce their arrival, waiting until he'd finished to brush her head against his. She felt a little nervous, but would try not to show it.

Talia's ears perked atop her head. A few moments later a call echoed back, deeper in pitch like Tsume's, and loud. The alpha male, she assumed, and he sounded like a large wolf from the depth of his howl.

(keeping track of all this rp @_@. keeping it all neatly in one place now)

Tsume kept his head low as he made his way along the mountain passage. The wind was howling in his ears and pulling at his fur, all in all it wasn't very pleasent weather. We have to find shelter soon...

He looked up to see how Talia was doing. The smaller female had been keeping up perfectly, but he was starting to get concerned for her.

Talia would've insisted she was fine, but she was admittedly starting to feel the cold. Her pelt was made for much more tropical weather, not the cold of the mountains sheltering outside.

Not wanting to worry Tsume, she kept close to his side, seeking warmth where she could find it. She just had to tough it out until they found a den to call their own. She'd eventually get used to the weather wouldn't she? Hopefully they could find something within the mountains where the wind didn't rage so coarsely on the outside.

Tsume shook his head and paused, taking a look at the greying sky. Rain was in the air, and it would be there soon. The relief came in form of a small opening not too far ahead of their path. "I think we found some temporary shelter."

Tsume headed for the dark entrance, it really wasn't much, but it would be big enough to house the two of them until the weather was a bit more favourable for travel.

He took in the scent of the cavern and then inched inside with a quick glance at Talia. What he found inside almost stopped him in his tracks. It wasn't a tiny cave, on the oposite the small entrance led him into a vast cavern.

Talia nodded, silently agreeing with his observation. She paused behind him and let him check ahead, but when he disappeared fully inside she became curious. She'd expected a small shelter, certainly not one that he could disappear into so easily.

"Tsume?" She called loudly to match her voice against the winds, and quickly moved to follow after her mate. Once inside she felt her balance shift in light of the sudden lack of wind pushing her small form about. She let out a soft gasp at what she saw as well, coming up alongside him again. "This is most certainly a surprise...!"

Tsume gave a small nod, indicating that he had heard her. He was a bit annoyed since this cave was way to open for him to feel secure in, but he was curious as well. With a cave this big, there was probably another exit somewhere. Maybe to a more favourable area...

One thing was for certain though, this was not a permanent residence. "We can stay here for a while, but we'll have to move to find something more accessable to food and water."

He shook his weary body a little. "Are you okay with that or would you rather like to move on?"

She nudged his shoulder gently in acceptance and reassurance. She knew he was just as tired as she was, the trek into the mountains had been difficult even with rests in between. "Here is fine, and so is the plan."

Smiling, she looked at him, then padded forward a bit, her tail swaying softly back and forth as she took in the expansive area. It didn't smell of any other predators, miraculously enough.

He stood there for a moment, simply watching her explore the area around them. He relaxed a little, and followed her deeper into the cave. Like her he had noticed taht there were no signs of other predators. And he doubted greatly that any were on the move in this kind of weather. They were save for the moment.

He nipped her ear gently as he drew up next to her, tacktile contact had been scarce along the journey and he didn't want her to forget that he indeed cared. "Lets get some rest, this weather will not ease up any time soon, so we might as well get some rest and then pass our time exploring this place."

Tsume needn't really worry about her, though Talia was certainly happy to have contact again after having it so rare and few on the trip. She stepped closer and leant against him a moment as he spoke. "Sounds like another good plan to me." She answered with a low rumble, shifting her head to groom his fur a bit, leaving it to him to find a suitable place to lie down, if not right there.

He rumbled softly at Talia's attention, his eyes closing in content. He let her continue for a few moments and then steered them both to the cave wall to the right of them. Just to be on the save side he thought, the wall to their back meant no unpleasant surprises.

Slowly he settled down, leaving space for Talia and inviting her to stay close at the same time.

Talia followed dutifully, waiting till he settled, then settling down so that she could curl into him and rest her head over her paws. She didn't move again for a bit, the only signs of life being her casually shifting eyes (which closed shortly after) and the steady rise and fall of her sides as she breathed. She was with her mate and they were warm, that was really all that mattered.

The next day found Tsume way too early for his liking. He blinked lazily and yawned, stretching every mucle in his body. Then he looked at Talia, nuzzeling the side of her face gently, checking if she was awake yet, or was still making up some much missed sleep.

The she wolf had been dozing yet, but had no intentions of staying that way at his touch. She gave a jaw splitting yawn, slowly, large enough to evict a whine from her throat as she rolled off of her stomach and onto her side, gazing up and over at him. "Mmm, morning...."

"Morning...." Tsume chuckled at her antics and got up, playfully nudging her, trying to roll her on her back. "The rain stopped," for it had started to pour sometime during the night. "But the wind hasn't lost an ounce of strength yet."

"So in other words," She paused there, rolling to her back and stretching out languidly. "We're better off in here for a bit longer?"

Tsume leaned over her and liked the tip of her nose. "Basically... yes."

He shifted away from her, giving her room to get up on her own feet. "So I figured we just see where this cave leads."
