Now I'm stuck here But I don't belong here ~Ninian~Ninian skated on, moving around and around the lake, trying to focus on her surroundings. Nils had appeared, now skating beside Roy, though it looked like the bard was having a bit of trouble. She smiled at a distant memory of a young Nils refusing to so much as step on the ice for fear it would break underneath him. Then again, she had been a little scared the first time she had stepped on the frozen water, too. Perhaps it was mostly due to her training as a dancer, but Ninian's good balance helped her when it came to skating. That, and a good sense of rhythm, as well as a love of the ice, snow, and cold weather, as well as much practice as a child and last year as well, had made Ninian a decent ice skater. Not that she thought about any of this as she watched her brother and son talk. She was too far away to hear them, but Roy was obviously worried about something and Nils seemed to be trying to help.
She didn't hear the new, only vaguely familiar voice until the man said bandits. Automatically, she tensed, looking around. But of course there were no bandits here; she was just jumpy and skittish after the events of last Halloween.
She spun, skating backwards, glaring at Joshua. "You would be wise not to speak of that, boy," she snapped.
Ninian blinked. Had she reached the tree where Melethia had been already? But she'd been on the other side of the ring only a second ago, and her rhythm and speed had not changed. And why was she skating backwards? She didn't remember turning to do so. Nor did she remember saying anything after Roy had skated off towards Melethia. Looking around, she spotted the red-haired man who had spoken to her. He was floundering, trying and very nearly failing to stay upright. It was almost comical, and she would have laughed had she not been confused.
"Y-yes, I was," she told him after she had skated back towards him. "Why do you ask?" I wanna be where you are Maybe I'm not so far from home

The Tempest King Ahhh come on. Live a little! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm betting my happiness life on this one The woman nearly bit Joshuas head off when he approached her, "You would be wise not to speak of that, boy," He kind of gaped at her for a second halting his fumbling actions, and coming to a miraculous stand-still, staring at her with his jaw wide open. Needless to say, Joshua was more than stunned, flabbergasted if you will... she seemed from a distance, and his other small interactions with her, nice and kind... now that he thought of it he'd seen Roy with that Melthia girl.... maybe he liked the kinda of girl who would set you on fire as soon as kiss you. Then the look that she gave him vanished... in fact now she looked scared and confused, "Alright.... not going to say that wasn't weird... maybe it’s..... Err that time of month...." he thought to himself but didn’t say it….. for some reason woman seemed to only get angrier when you asked if it was their…. Err… time of month, Once Joshua was reasonably sure that Ninian Wasn't going to castrate him and then watch, laughing while he bled to death on this accursed ice, he floundered after her in a move that looked like he was trying to swim through the air. Despite appearing like it wouldn't work he managed to catch up to the dancer (Though this mainly was because she had come to him). "Oh, I was just wondering! I was there at the same time; your dancing really helped us eh? .... Your smile helped a lot too... good to see you got that eye patch taken off. Anyway I'm Joshu---WAHH!" He would have continued talking but his legs took that perfect moment to tangle together, and with a strangled shout he crashed face first onto the ice, being a trained fighter though he knew how to fall and managed to keep his head from hitting hard enough to bruise. Too bad he couldn't do the same for his already injured chest. "@^&*!*" He cursed under his breath as he rolled over on his back. "Awww dangit..." Slowly he picked himself off the ice, once again managing to keep his hat on his head. "Hey, You wanna make a bet?" He asked Ninian, a small smile playing on his face, "I betcha I'll never get the hang of this..." Roy listened to his Uncle's words, feeling the shotabard struggle a bit to reach his shoulder to hold on to so he could stabilize himself. Yes...this was good advice. Really good advice, coming from an older person (who looked like he still hadn't hit puberty) and was getting married soon. So he just had to take it easy, and try to understand his heart a little better.
-Roy's charm level increased...it has just maxed! Random chime goes here-
He then felt himself speeding up a little, and realized it was his Uncle had given him a push. It seemed as if the advice was coming to an end...until the shotabard had slipped and fallen. The young lord spun around and skated back over to his Uncle to help the boy back onto his feet.
"That was really good advice Uncle, but the fall kinda lightened the mood a little." laughed the redhead, once the shotabard got back onto his feet. "Thanks for the advice. I'll take some time to really understand my heart to understand my feelings."
He noogied the smaller boy gently, so that neither of them would fall over, then said goodbye, skating away. He was certainly in a better mood now that he had spoken to his Uncle. And even better, he had learned something important!
-Roy's academics level increased! Random chime goes here-
As he skated away from his Uncle, he noticed Joshua was talking to Ninian. He watched silently, seeing his mother spin around. And saw her glare at him. Roy blinked in surprise. Was Joshua attempting to hit on his mother?! Or did he say something really inappropriate?
Well, either way, he decided to investigate. He started to skate over towards them. Except he lost control. Crap. Must have gone over a really flat spot or something.
"Look out!" he called out to the two, flailing a little.
He swerved, and ended up crashing/clotheslining the redhead gambler, both of them falling onto the ice.
-Roy's courage level did not increase! But whatever...it was maxed anyway! No random chime goes here-

The Tempest King Ahhh come on. Live a little! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm betting my happiness life on this one Before Ninain could continue a loud shout penetrated his thoughts, "Look out!". "Hurrm?" He questioned, as he turned to face the oncoming Roy. Despite having plenty of warning, Joshua couldn't scramble out of the way in time and in trying to get away he actually slid closer to Roy, speeding up the accident, "Whoa! N-Noooo!" He shouted as the younger red head blazed into him. Although Joshua could have avoided harm by crouching and shoving his shoulder forward causing Roy to fly over him, he didn't want the young man to get seriously injured which would have been a definite as there wasn’t any snow on the ice. So Joshua took the hit full in the stomach, If Joshua was of average height he would have gotten punched in the nose by one of Roys flailing arms, thankfully he was much taller then Roy... instead the arm in question connected with his quite abused torso. "Wuff!" He huffed out, as the breath left his body and his hat flew off his head for the second time in ten-minutes, it landed in front of Ninian with a slight smacking sound, as its owner was sent flying backwards onto the ice, Moving with characteristic speed he put his hands behind his head as he fell so he wouldn't bang his head off the ice and knock himself out. He took the worst of the fall and Roy ended up on top of him in a suggestive pose (Go ahead Mel.... that was just for you XD) Both men were fine but Joshua had the wind knocked out of him.... taking a few fish gulps remedied that and soon he was looking into Roys eyes.... which were uncomfortably close to his face. "Err... Roy? .... You mind getting offa me?" Nils had arrived, and appeared to be advising Roy out on the ice of the lake after Roy had told Melethia to return home to take care of herself before they could here each other out. Before he would follow Melethia to make sure she would be all right, he hurried forward to the edge of the lake nearby where his beloved bard was atop. “Kaoru,” he called, as he worked up the nerve to get on the ice (if Nils was imbalanced, FD was liquid trying to stay in place). Fire dragons didn’t belong on ice, he decided, his legs sliding apart before he fell forward. He somehow managed to stand up and was able to balance himself him self by holding on to Nils, Nils holding on to him as well – at least they could stand on the ice without difficulty between the two of them. “Kaoru,” he said, able to see his breath in the cold, “I’m going to follow Melethia to make sure she’s alright. I’ll see you in a little while…”
He quickly turned his head, ready to get off the ice, before changing his mind and turning back to Nils. A place where you know what feel. “I love you more than anything, Kaoru.” He pulled himself towards Nils and began kissing him. FD was so blessed to have Nils in his life. Everything he’d been paying attention to lately only emphasized to the dragon just how wonderful it was that they had one another. “I’ll see you later,” he told his love after the kiss. As he finally started to head towards ground again, he turned his head back to look at Nils again (almost falling over yet again in the process). Once he reached land, he hurried after Melethia towards her home.

Now I'm stuck here But I don't belong here ~Ninian~Ninian couldn't help but giggle at the man whose name was JoshuWAHH, which probably translated to Joshua. The poor guy couldn't even stand on the ice, let alone skate.
I bet he won't be able to get the hang of this either, she thought, still giggling softly. And then out of nowhere, "Look out!"
Ninian looked up just in time to see Roy crash into Joshua. With much flailing and shouting, the two red-heads fell into the ice. Roy had skated over too fast and lost control, it seemed. Joshua's hat flew off, landing in from of the dancer. Ninian gasped, crying out Roy's name in shock as the fell, but she only moved to clasp her hands over her mouth.
And then--
"Roy? . . . You mind getting offa me?"Joshua asked.
Ninian burst out laughing. The way Roy was position on top of Joshua combined with Joshua's words after the fall was too perfect.
Finally, Ninian got herself under control, bending down to grab Joshua's hat before skating closer to help Roy up, extending a hand for her son to grab. "I-I'm sorry," she stammered between giggles. "I know I--I sh-shouldn't be laughing a-after that!" She kept giggling however, the smile refusing to go away. "Are you alright, my son?" she asked Roy, sobering slightly as her eyes searched him, making sure he was alright. I wanna be where you are Maybe I'm not so far from home

If Joshua had been average hit, the flailing arms would have missed him entirely. Roy wasn't that short. But he wasn't tall enough to smack the gambler in the face either. And so he crashed, and when he regained his senses, found himself on top of Joshua.
"Err...Roy? ...You mind getting offa me?"
"Pfft...you wouldn't be saying that if I was a girl." said the young lord with a smirk.
But nevertheless, he would get off the guy.
He rolled off of Joshua and started to try to push himself up, but then found a hand extended out to him. He looked up to see his mother offering to help. Smiling gently, Roy took her aid and stood back up onto his feet, skating a little to the side so Joshua could attempt to get back up. He was laughing a little as well. He then heard his mother ask if he was okay. The redhead nodded.
"Yes, Mother. I'm fine. Just lost a little control there." he said softly, looking at her.
There was a look in his eyes that suggested that he wanted to talk to the dancer about something. He didn't mind waiting until after her business with Joshua was over though.
He had plenty of time.

Dancing...that was what Lalum was going to do for a crowd of people in Pherae. It had been sometime since Lord Roy had taken down Idoun the dark dragon, and now things were at peace. The people in Pherae enjoyed her visits, and she enjoyed them, since it gave her a chance to see Roy. During her time, she had come to see him as a friend, and although he had Lilina, she would have gone after him, were it not for Percival. He had saved her sometime ago, and she grew fond of him. Going through the door to her performance, she found herself...in snow. Snow? There wasn't snow in Pherae...or trees. Wait a sec, where am I?
Looking around, Lalum realized she was not in the auditorium where she was going to dance...she was now outside, in cold weather. She shivered, as she was attired in her dancing clothes, and since it wasn't all that bad in Pherae, she hadn't thought of bringing anything else, yet something did catch her attention. A lake that was frozen solid...oh how she loved to ice skate, yet then there was something else out there that she loved. It was Lord Roy...yet why was he here, wherever this was. Wasn't he back in Pherae, so she chose to take her chances and call out to him. "Lord Roy? That you?"

The Tempest King Ahhh come on. Live a little! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm betting my happiness life on this one "Pfft...You wouldn't be saying that if I was a girl." "You're right about that." He laughed as Roy got off of him, no harm had been done to anyone so it was okay to laugh, Joshua had heard that the two were mother and son the last time the three of them had spoken, but had mostly forgotten about it until now, also he didn't understand it... Roy may have been only a few years younger then himself.... in fact Ninian looked about as old as her son, himself.... Joshua decided that this must simply be a quirk of dimension traveling and left it at that. He sat up and started to push himself off the ice, but putting his skate down and giving pushed as he would have had he been wearing his boots he found skate encased foot in question shooting out from underneath him, a startled cry later and Joshua had ended up back where he started... sore and staring at the sky. ".... of course my luck would be this bad.... this is the first time I've managed to stay on the ice long enough to fall on it....." Joshua muttered to nobody in particular. Attempt number two went as well as number one... it consisted of; pushing himself as far upright as his arms would let him and dipping down, giving a hard push with his hands he kind of jumped into the air using his arms, in order to land neatly on his feet.... or well, he would have had he been on the snow or wearing boots, instead a loud clack was heard and his feet flew out from underneath him again, same bat cry…. Same bat place If this didn't send Ninian and Roy into gales of laughter nothing would, knowing this his face turned bright red with embarrassment, and he groaned this time he took much longer and went slower, like a wobbly calf learning to stand the swordmaster managed to make it to his feet with out breaking any bone in his body. He looked over at Ninian who was making sure her son hadn't been killed in the crash, wondering how Roy was doing as well he said. "You all right Roy? ..... That was terrifying." And the swordmaster meant it he could fight in a war and duel to the death... but this lake of frozen water was beginning to scare him, understandable as he came from a desert country. Joshua, from all his falls wasn't in the best of shape... his chest hurt and he had a goose-egg on the back of his head, thankfully his long hair hid that very well. He needed someone to teach him how to skate... Giving up wasn’t an option for him, he wasn't that kind of person, he hated losing and to give up would be like admitting defeat. He needed a teacher... and Ninian was as good as any. As these thoughts were going through his head another girl approached slightly timidly and called Roy’s name out, if anyone was watching Joshua extremely closely they would have seen a small twitch, it seemed like Roy always had a girl following him around.... If only he could harness that luck and use it for himself... Now I'm stuck here But I don't belong here ~Ninian~Ninian smiled at Roy, relieved that he was alright. She knew how dangerous falling on ice could be. The look in his eyes seemed to say that he had something to tell her, though not urgent.
Turning to look at Joshua, Ninian watched the swordsman try and fail to stand twice before she took pity on him, reaching a hand out to help him up before handing him his hat. He didn't seem to like the ice at all.
"Lord Roy?" someone called.
Standing on the edge of the frozen lake was a girl who appeared to be attired for much warmer weather, shivering in what seemed like dancer's clothes, though they were too revealing for Ninian to even think of wearing. Ninian glanced at Roy She wanted to talk with him, to hear what he wanted to say, but Joshua had approached her for a reason, and it would be rude to just leave him, especially in the middle of a frozen lake when he obviously had no idea how to skate.
"I think that girl knows you," Ninian said to Roy, stating the obvious. "Why don't you go talk to her for a moment, and then . . . we can talk?" She waited for his response before turning to Joshua. "Was there something you wanted to ask me, um, Joshua, was it?" She'd hate to think she'd gotten his name wrong. I wanna be where you are Maybe I'm not so far from home

The Tempest King Ahhh come on. Live a little! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm betting my happiness life on this one "Pfft...You wouldn't be saying that if I was a girl." "Thanks," He breathed to the dancer as he placed his hat on his head and adjusted it comfortably. "Was there something you wanted to ask me, um, Joshua, was it?" "Well you are perceptive aren’t you? And it was Joshua; I never got your name though.... did I?" From here Joshua had a lot of options, he could play it safe and coerce Ninian into a bet, cheat, and then ask her to teach him, or he could be blunt and come right out and ask her. Figuring that he may be short on time Joshua went with blunt. "Actually yeah, I did want to ask you something." He began, "....It’s a little weird to ask a stranger, but you're not bad at this skating thing and I..." He pointed at his feet which were obviously in danger of flying out from underneath him yet again, "I seem to not be having a lucky day... so I'm wondering if you could..... errr.... teach me." Joshua waited to see her reaction, in the long run it didn't matter if she said no or yes... he was going to learn how to skate.... on his own or not, if he had to break his nose doing it he'd learn. That was simply how resolved he was. He really didn't like losing. The young lord watched Joshua's failed attempts to get up and shook his head. It was true that getting up on your own after falling on slippery ice was difficult, but really. Wouldn't asking for help to get up make things easier for him, or at least not pushing off the ice? That certainly wasn't going to help getting up. Maybe the longer-haired redhead wasn't meant for cold winters like this.
Just as Roy was getting bored of watching the man make a fool of himself over and over (the young lord was actually considering helping him back up onto his feet, just so he wouldn't have to see his disappointing attempts anymore), he heard a voice.
"Lord Roy? That you?"
That's...Lalum's voice... Roy thought to himself, turning in the direction he heard the voice.
Sure enough, there was no mistaking that orange hair. Or the dancer's clothing (either cold didn't exist in her dictionary, or she had just gotten here. He certainly didn't ever recall seeing her around Eyris). That was definitely Lalum.
Roy heard his mother speak, and nodded. He didn't need to be told twice.
"I'll introduce her to you later then. For now, see ya." said Roy.
He then skated over towards the dancer, hurrying a little. It must be cold for her, since she was wearing so little. Nevertheless, he had reached her.
"Lalum..." he said softly, standing on the ice in front of her, looking up at the dancer. "Isn't it too cold for you to be dressed like that? Here...wear this for now, until we can find you something warmer for you."
He then unbuttoned his red jacket and shrugged it off carefully. The coat was then held out to the dancer for her to wear for now. He had a red long-sleeve undershirt on, and there was the scarf as well to keep him warm.
By the looks of her appearance, there was no doubt about it now. She had just crossed over to Learania.

Seeing the red-haired lord come over, she realized she had been right. Then, she noticed he had given her his jacket. "Thank you...it is cold." She paused, trying to take in everything around her...she should be in an auditorium, to perform for many people, and now she was in front of Roy...either they had tried to trick her into something, or she...was no longer in Pherae. "Lord Roy...where are we? Last I remember...I was going to be dancing for people in Pherae...now I am here...wherever this is? Have I gone...insane?" Sure that last part sounded like it could be true, yet she doubted it...if she was insane, then why would Roy be there in front of her? There were lots of questions she did not know the answer to, yet she hoped Roy did. She was really grateful that he was there. "Is anyone else here? Sue, Rei...any of them at all?"

Now I'm stuck here But I don't belong here ~Ninian~Roy dashed off towards the dancer girl. Seeing her shiver, Ninian looked on with approval as Roy gave the girl his coat. Had she just arrived in Learania? That was possible.
Hearing Joshua speak, she turned her attention to him. "No, I don't believe we've spoken until now," she replied. "I am called Ninian."
Joshua stammered and fumbled his way around the words until he got to the point. "I'm wondering if you could . . . errr . . . teach me."
"Teach you to skate?" She'd never taught anyone to skate before. She could barely remember learning how to do so herself. She wasn't sure if she could teach him, or anyone else for that matter. "I . . . I can try," she said. Skating was almost as easy as breathing for her, though not as easy as (or as hard as) dancing was.
She thought for a moment. Skating, like dancing, came down to balance and rhythm, though dancing was a lot more complicated. "I think I can show you the basics at least. Here."
Gently she took his hand in hers, pulling the swordsman over to a relatively clear part of the lake where no one else was skating or standing at the moment. "Ah . . . Shall we try standing first?" He was a swordsman, or so she thought, so he should understand the concept of balance. Right? I wanna be where you are Maybe I'm not so far from home

Well what so bad about a little coin toss now and then?
The Tempest King Ahhh come on. Live a little! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm betting my happiness life on this one "Ninian? That’s a nice name." He said as she took him by the hand, Well that wasn't so bad at all.... her hand was very soft and it had been a while since a girl had taken him by the hand. It felt nice really. But he pushed those thoughts aside... for now he wanted to learn how to skate, besides if she was Roys mother she might be married... last time he'd been caught with a married woman was in Carcino, he'd been sentenced to death and Caellach had to bust him out of prison... He'd sworn to find if a woman was single before he started hitting on her since then. So being led out to a clear spot by Ninian no major disasters occurred and he stayed upright, a good first lesson so far, now hopefully he didn’t make a fool of himself in the next ten minutes. She wanted to help him stand first? Well standing was no problem..... He had figured that out fairly early on. Now MOVEING that right there boys and girls was the trouble. The second she let go of his hand Joshua stiffened like a board, which stood in sharp contrast to the relaxed way he was on solid ground, but stiffening up seemed to work as he wasn't moving..... But if a breeze suddenly picked up and was able to slide the swordsman he wouldn't be able to stop.... and would continue sliding until he ran out of momentum. Thankfully this didn’t happen and he managed to remain stationary and on his feet for a fair amount of time before turning his head to Ninian and smiling, “Well this isn’t so hard.” C’est la vie, -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tell you what, We'll flip on it, Heads, I win Tails, you lose DIE
