Alex wanted to whine about the conditions. They did make sense and were fair, expect the last one. Some pictures for the night come out good. Though truthfully he liked using daylight anyway. “Yes Mr. Chase, that sounds fair. I will however, might be there after sundown, since I like the sunset. So technically I’ll be there at night, but not to stay.” Maybe another time they could work something out that he could go to the house at night. He was grateful about his camera even more hearing his comment. That made him want to always keep his camera around his neck. It scared him to know what Mr. Chase would do.
He hurried on his way to Biology class. He got through the door, but the teacher spotted him just getting in after the bell. “Alexander why are you late again?” She asked, arms crossed as she watched the boy freeze up. “You see professor I saw this cardinal and I got caught up in its beauty, you know with my camera.” Her eyes lit up with his explanation. She started talking about the facts of birds and how some would be getting ready to migrate south. Alex grinned going to his seat.
The other students tried to get the teacher back on topic, which took awhile. Though once she was back on topic class actually began. It was something about the human body. It was biology so that sort of thing had to be said. Alex did listen, but he thought about Mr. Chase. His hand clenched around his pencil. ‘I forgot to tell him no for the damn art show..’ He cursed controlling himself in class.
When the bell rang, Alex practically ran to the art room. He didn’t kick the door open or anything. He just opened the door normally. “Mr. Chase I forgot to mention that my art work will not be in the art show. I don’t care what you say it’s not going to be a part of that show.” He crossed his arms standing in the door way. He was determined to make his point heard.

Victor had his hair pulled back out of his face, going back to painting after taking his pill. He looked over at Alex when he spoke. Victor had smudges of paint on his face from where he rubbed at an itch with paint on his hands. "Okay." he said and shrugged. The man turned back around and continued to finish up his painting. "I still don't see why you don't want it to be in there. Yeah sure, I understand that you're shy, but that's no reason to hide your talent." Victor spoke to Alex as he leaned over his painting, occasionally, reaching up to push a lock of loose brown hair out of his face and tuck it behind his ear, all the while getting paint on his hair, ear and face. "So... what are you going to do for your next project Alex?" He asked the other as he finally finished his painting, completely done with it and carried it to the back, laying it down on the back on the counter. It was set behind a large bunch of easels where nobody could destroy it. Victor cleaned the brushes, the cup of water he was using. Then he set on cleaning his hands face and everywhere else he had gotten the acrylic paint. He scrubbed his face and hair, still paying attention to Alex. "You do, mainly, pictures from a photograph... right? Have you tried anything out of your head?" He asked as he dried his hands and face with a towel. "I'm sure you'd make something amazing from your head. You're a good enough artist to pull it off." Victor said as he poked the teen's forehead as he walked by him to get to his desk. The man reached behind and pulled out the ponytail, tossing the band into one of his desk drawers. Victor ran a hand into his brown hair and left it alone afterward.

Alex felt a small smile on his face when he saw all the paint smudges on Mr. Chase’s face, though he tried to keep his face serious. He was surprised that he agreed so easily. “I just don’t want to be in the show. My art will be for the future. Not for the people here who won’t shut up later.” He said in a harsh tone. He knew that if his talent got out in the school the other students would react badly or he would start getting attention that was fake.
He moved closer to Mr. Chase, looking at his painting. It was really fascinating. It looked familiar too. Alex’s eyes recognized the house. It was Victoria and some woman in front. “I’m thinking of combining pictures together. Or rather show the simple things in life in a beautiful way. For example your house, a spider web, and a stream.” He said as he watched Mr. Chase move about the room with the painting.
At least he was cleaning himself now. It was amusing seeing the art teacher with a bunch of smudges on his face. “The pictures I take are from my mind. I use photoshop, I cut them apart and put them on another piece of paper. It may not seem like much, but it shows my own mind’s eye.” He shook his head. He closed his eyes a bit when the other poked his forehead. Did he have to?
“I wouldn’t be able to do any other kind of art. My free hand rather sucks. A stroke for a sunset would be something I could do.” Alex shrugged . He had never tried to do any other art then with his camera. He did doodles, but that was it. He didn’t have much confidence in them.

"Hm, well then that's something we can work on. Taking a thought, a random image, a dream from your mind... and putting it on paper." Victor poked the teen's forehead again the tapped a desk top. "You'll be amazing once you get the hang of it." He leaned over his desk and pulled up his bag and pulled out box and holding it out for Alex. "Lunch... enjoy." He said and put it into the other's hand as he took a seat with his own lunch at one of the desks. "So what are you interested in besides taking pictures?" He asked as he opened a new water bottle. Alex was a hard one to see through. He was actually hoping that he wasn't one of those people who believed in 'wives tales'... but he was a little too late to hope. He didn't eat much. Victor closed the box and pushed it aside. The pills took away his appetite occasionally... both appetites. "Do you know what you're going to do after high school?" He asked the teen, then quickly turned his head towards the window when a flash quickly lit up the room just when the power went out. " The storm's finally here." Victor mumbled and stood up. "Hold that thought." He said to Alex as he made his way over to the window and closed it, pulling the curtains together. Just as he did so, there was another bright flash and a loud rumble of thunder that shook the windows. The storm was right over head. The man pulled away from the windows and looked towards the door as girl's screams echoed in the halls. He passed Alex, giving him an apologetic look as he fetched a flash light and opened the door. "Everything okay?" He asked them. A group of five girls came rushing in all talking at once.

“Why do you want to work with me on that?” Alex asked a little annoyed since the teacher poked his forehead again. Honestly really? “That’s no grantee that I see.” He muttered mostly to himself. He tilted his head seeing a box. It looked like the one from yesterday. “You made me lunch?” He asked as it was placed into his hands. Mr. Chase did know he never really ate lunch, but to make a student a lunch? That seemed odd. At least to Alex it did. He took a seat that was next to Mr. Chase and began to eat.
He was surprised, it tasted really good. At least he won’t go hungry till he got home. When Alex ate a piece of chicken he looked at Mr. Chase confused, why would he be asking about his interests? ‘Maybe I’m getting too paranoid..’ He thought to himself after swallowing. “Well I like reading mostly fantasy and fiction.” That was just the surface of what he was into. He didn’t want to go into depth.
Alex opened his mouth to reply, but a flash of light caught his attention. Not to mention the room going completely dark. This actually got the boy happy. He loved storms just like he loved the rain. He had to bite his lip to keep the whine of disappointment from leaving his lips. He wanted to watch the storm, to feel the wind come through the window.
He smiled as he listened. Could he go outside to get some pictures of the lightning? Probably not..maybe just open the curtains would be good. He reasoned with himself. Alex shivered when he heard the girls scream. They are either faking or are really scared. He nodded to Mr. Chase not minding about the girls. Though he did mind when they all came into the room and wouldn’t shut up. He rolled his eyes getting up from his unfinished lunch.
The boy walked to the window getting behind the curtains so he could watch the storm unfold outside. Of course he had his camera around his neck and uncapped. He just stood there watching the storm knowing it was difficult to catch lightning. The added annoying group of girls didn’t help.

Victor sighed and had to talk over the girl's voices to calm them down. After about five minutes of trying to settle them, the finally calmed down. They all sat in the back of the class, talking amongst themselves. Thankfully, they weren't like the girls in his first period class where all did nothing but bug him. He moved back over to Alex and pulled aside the curtains to look out the window at the rain slapping the glass and at the dark clouds. "It's about time it starts raining." He mumbled and turned back around to go back to his lunch. Victor sat back down. The bell rang and everybody left off to class. The power didn't come on for the rest of the day. So Victor set up flashlights at each table so the could see. The rest of the day was very uneventful. Many would wonder why he chose to become an art teacher. The rest of the week was the same. Very slow and boring. But he had talked to Alex more and more everyday. It wasn't until Friday came around that something happened... and not in favor of Victor. He had stated late to finish grading project and came out from the back door. There at his car were a group of man. He didn't even have to see their faces to know who they were. Hunters. They were always around and always trying to chase vampires out of cities. There were a group of five, he hoped he was able to take them on. Emelia had gone out that night and nobody had come back to the Victorian house. Not even Victor, and it was already going on eight in the evening. The entire house was dark, not even a whisper of a breath. Victor's car wasn't in the driveway.

Alex listened to Mr. Chase as he watched the storm. The girls were quiet very fast. ‘Guess they aren’t apart of his fan club. Those girls never shut up.’ He thought to himself. He was startled when the curtains were pulled aside. He didn’t expect them too. It was Mr. Chase which made him relax in a way. The camera was poised to capture a shot, but like he thought it was hard to get a good shot. “It’s wonderful when it rains.” The boy said letting his camera rest against his chest.
He went back to his lunch when the bell rang. He quickly ate what was left and headed out the door. “Oh thanks for the lunch Mr. Chase. It was um..really good.” He wanted to thank him again for the meal, it was rare when any body was nice to him. He made his way to class. The darkness didn’t bother him though it was a little hard to see. The rest of the day’s classes were boring as usual, yet he learned something new.
Homework and pictures were performed and completed during the week. Alex had started working on a painting this time. Of a sunset that he had seen more like envisioned. He didn’t trust that it would come out good. Each day that he talked to Mr. Chase his confidence in it grew. It was an odd feeling.
He was out at Victoria taking pictures. A close up of a spider on its web. The lens was so close that he could see the pattern on its back. He took the shot in time before it moved away. He smiled checking the picture seeing it came out near perfect. He looked at his watch and cursed. It was past sunset. He was pushing his curfew. Alex ran through the woods, making a lot of sound he was sure since he was in such a hurry. He didn’t want Mr. Chase to catch him at his house so late.
Alex knew that he wasn’t home yet, but still the thought of having Mr. Chase mad at him scared the boy. He saw his car but had to fumble around in his pockets for his keys before he could get in.

Victor had his back pressed against his car, in one hand a man's throat, in the other the wrist of a man that was pinning him to the car. He glared at the man that pinned him, his hand tightening around the man's throat. Victor panted, his face and entire body covered in blood, his own blood, except for his mouth, neck and front of his shirt, that was another man's blood. He had gotten a bite into one of the men. "Get out of here before I kill him and you." Victor threaten the man who slowly backed off of him. They were an inexperienced lot. When the man was far enough, Victor let the other's throat go and they both took off. Once they were gone, Victor sighed and fell to his knees. He had been shot and stabbed in various places, nowhere near life threatening, but painful none the less. He couldn't drive home, they had thrown his keys somewhere into the grass. Victor gripped the mirror of his car, helping himself up. Thankfully it had stopped raining for the time being. The vampire began to walk back. He was almost to his house when headlights from a car. Victor's eyes glowed a light green from the lights, like a dog's eyes when the light hit them just right. Feeling threatened, Victor bared his bloody fangs and hissed. His mouth closed, he bared them again and hissed again. The man hunched forward slightly, getting ready to attack if he had to. His shirt was torn in a few places where a knife and stabbed into. His eyes darted around as he looked to see who it could be. Fight or flight kicked in and in a blink of an eye he was at the drive's door, opening it quickly and ripping whoever it was out of the car and pressing them to the car, as was done to him earlier. Victor bared his fangs and hissed again. The scent came to him. His fangs retracted quickly and his green eyes widened. He had made a huge mistake. He had shown his true side to his student, Alex.

Alex finally got his keys out of his pocket. They were wedged in there. As he got into his car he put his bag on the passenger seat along with his camera. He sat there in the driver’s seat letting his heart slow down from the run he just did. He leaned his head back against the seat smiling. He got out of there with some time to spare.
He started the car getting in some warm air to help him warm up and to get dry. He was rather wet from being out in the rain for most of the afternoon. Alex put the lights on and heard a noise. He looked up eyes widened in fear. ‘What in the hell is that.’ He put his car in reverse.
Alex couldn’t look away from the man since he seemed like something from a warzone. So many wounds over his body. He shook his head trying to head out of this place. He wanted to get home where he could just relax. When he looked back up the figure was closer than before. He let out a sound of surprise though that wasn’t the only sound. He was ripped out of his car and slammed against it. That brought a groan of pain. He tried to get away from this thing.
Those fangs looked like they were ready to pierce him, to kill him. Alex closed his eyes waiting for it to kill him. He opened his eyes a little looking at whatever was about to kill him. If his body wasn’t already in fear and shock it was most certainly now. “Mr. Chase?” He asked softly. “What are you? Let me go!!” He struggled more, he wanted to get into his car and get away. This wasn’t happening.

Victor's hand opened and he was instantly gone. He now stood in his back yard, panting. He was quick to get into his house and gently closed the door behind him. He stared at the wooden floor in fear. His student, Alex, who he had been talking to more and more and getting to know. He almost hurt him... again, and he saw what he was. He was terrified. Victor headed up to his room and stopped in the bathroom. The man glanced up at himself. He could hardly even recognize himself. He tired wiping the blood from his face, neck arms. It was everywhere. He ended up just pulling the shirt off of his body and pulled his pants down. The man quickly started a shower and jumped in. His green eyes remained wide as he stared at the dark tile of the bathroom. The blood finally washed from his brown hair and off his body. Once out, he had to let it go and inspect the wounds. They all had already closed up. Victor was instantly in bed after a few bottles of synthetic blood. It was the worst thing he had to take to curve his raging hunger. The man tossed and turned all night. His body hurt like hell and he couldn't stop thinking about Alex's face. The fear he saw in the teen's eyes, panic in his voice. Victor sighed and dug his hands into his eyes. He wouldn't be able to go back into work until he got more pills and he wasn't about to drain every human he came into contact with. He didn't sleep all night, he stayed awake. The curtains pulled tightly closed to block out any sun. Without the pills, the sun would kill him. Emelia had come back at four in the morning. She didn't bother Victor, thinking that he was sleeping for school. Victor sighed, it was already noon. He had called in sick for work, telling them that he might not be in for a week possibly two. He covered himself up with the thick blanket. Night came, and Victor finally emerged from his home. He looked terrible. He was as white as a sheet. The pills gave him color. He didn't have his car there so he ended up walking into the city to get some blood. It didn't fill him up. Around eight he was walking down the street towards his place.

Alex slid down his car after he was released. He had to get out of there. His body was shaking from the fear and the adrenaline. It took him about three tries before he could get the car moving. He didn’t trust himself to be calm enough to drive. He kept seeing flashes of Mr. Chase with those fangs and eyes. The boy shook his head to get rid of those visions, but they would never disappear.
He parked his car in the driveway and it took a good ten minutes for him to actually get out of the car. When he did he ran to the house clutching his bag and camera to him. He was paranoid that something like that would come after him again. Alex went up right to bed. His clothes changed into the comfortable pajamas. A small comfort to the boy.
Eyes firmly shut and ipod in his ears. The Vitamin String Quartet’s cover songs of Panic At the Disco went through his ears. It helped the boy to sleep and chase away any of his thoughts and dreams.
The next day wasn’t so bad for Alex. Though walking into the Art room scared him. Now it didn’t since he saw a sub. It made him feel a lot better about being at school. School was where Mr. Chase wasn’t. The sad part was that Alex couldn’t go to Victoria anymore. Mr. Chase would always be there since he was out sick. Though from the side of the road wouldn’t be bad. It’s not near the house so..’But that’s what happened last time.’
As the day went on Alex kept thinking about the last night, Mr. Chase, and Victoria. He even admits that he was thinking about that painting he started. That’s where he went to after school the art room to finish that painting of the sunset. It was based off one of his photos that he took recently. To him the painting looked like crap. He put it where it would dry and no one would see it.
Alex drove home when he was finished with the painting. He sat on the side of the road looking at the woods around Victoria, where it happened last night. He shook his head backing down the street away from the house. He would find another. ‘Yea right.’ He parked down from the Victorian house. Almost do the intersection of the roads. This was where he made his adventure for the rest of the afternoon. Sure he was still paranoid and scared about what happened with Mr. Chase, but he was far away from the house so that’s good.
He was crouched down getting a picture of a plant when the rocks he was standing on gave way to his weight. They went down the small slope as did he. He tried to catch himself which resulted in scratching the palm of his hand. His legs were battered and bruised from the rocks under him. “Well that wasn’t so bad.” He mused to himself. He got up shakily and started his way back to the car. The scratch on his palm stung. Alex looked at it noticing blood, that explains the sting.
He had a first-add in his car right? Wrong, so he got a piece of cloth that was lying on the passenger seat ripped it and wrapped his hand. Stung like hell when the fabric got into contact with the skin. It was a good chunk of skin that was missing. Fortunately not too much blood. He couldn’t really drive well with it hurting like this, so he waited a bit for the cut to die down. It was dark, but he was with his car. Not that scary.

The wind blew viciously, seeming like it was about ready to break the tallest trees around. A scent was pushed up against Victor's face, a shiver running down his back and making his fangs come out. After the attack he had been blood thirsty, something no simple pill could stop. Hiding in the crowd of trees. Victor followed the scent, instantly loosing himself the moment he took it in. Then there it was. Young blood. Running out, he gripped the boy by the back of his hair and pulled his head back. Not caring who it was, Victor leaned his head down and sunk his fangs into the human's neck. Blood instantly began to pour into his mouth, mixing with his saliva and running down the back of his throat. The vampire moaned in pleasure as he continued to drink from the teen. It was pure, untainted, innocent blood. The best kind of all. Whenever Victor drank the blood of a teen, which wasn't often, it was tainted with drugs, alcohol, some type of sexual transmitted disease, but he had gotten lucky this time. This boy's blood was pure. Victor had taken his fill, which was about half the blood a human has and would cause them to black out. The man seemed to have a tendency of running into poor Alex. He realized this far too late. Looking down, he saw the boy's face, his hand still held the back of his hair. Every time... it was Alex, and every time it was the teen who was either hurt or scared out of his mind. He thought he'd be okay with just one person knowing about him, but he never meant to feed from him. The man looked around panic stricken. He didn't know what to do. He wasn't going to drop him off at his house, his parent's wouldn't know what to do. He had only one choice. Victor got into Alex's car and gently pulled the boy into his lap, he was thankfully passed out. He pulled the teen's car into his garage, hidden in the back and carried him inside. "Ooo!~ You've brought me dinner!" Emelia said as she jumped from the couch. "You stay away from him understand?!" He hissed at the woman who's blue eyes widened and she slowly sat down. Victor carried the teen up to his room and set him under the covers, trying to keep him as warm as possible. The vampire ran back and fourth from the kitchen to his room. He gathered orange juice and crackers, stuff to help him when he woke up.

Alex applied a bit of pressure to the cut. That way it could stop bleeding and not hurt as much. Well it helped with the bleeding, increased the pain though. He hissed air through his teeth when he pressed down. When he pulled his hand away to relax, he wasn’t able to.
He felt his head pulled back then such pain. He let out a scream from the pain and the fear. It was like a burning sensation yet not exactly like that at the same time. It was confusing, but Alex knew he wanted whatever was on him off. Unfortunately he couldn’t push him off or tell him to stop. He lost his strength barely able to stay up.
It was black around him now. He didn’t see who it was or rather what it was that bit him. He was glad that he was able to escape. From that last thought he went unconscious.
Time passed when the boy finally awoke. Alex didn’t have any clue how long he was out or even where he was. He felt around himself. It felt soft, there was something covering him. Maybe a bed? He opened his eyes, and then closed them. He didn’t want to be fully awake it reminded him of the pain he felt only moments ago. A soft groan left his lips as he decided to open his eyes.
It was better to be aware than to be a sitting duck. For all he knew he was kidnapped. That idea kept coming to his head since the bed that he was in didn’t feel like his own. He noticed a bedside table that had orange juice and crackers. He didn’t trust them even though he was starving. “Is there anyone there?” Alex thought to go with an obvious approach to the situation. Hopefully his kidnapper would answer him. Though it might've been smarter to run.

Victor sat on the couch downstairs, his face in his hands, brown hair handing both his face and hands. His head shook slowly back adn fourth. He couldn't believe that he had done such a thing, that he had hurt his student, his neighbor, an unsuspecting teenager. He didn't hear Alex speak, but Emelia did. She was walking by when she heard the boy. Slowly, she poked her platinum blonde head in and looked at him, her blue eyes widening. Her plump red lips broke into a smile. "Oh good... you're awake, best of all you're alive." She smiled and walked in, sitting on the edge of the bed. "Here, you need to get your strength back. Have some juice and crackers. It'll help you alot." He brought over the tray. "I can't believe that he had done such a thing to you. But it was an accident. It's hard to tell who's who when you're starving to the point of attacking a poor boy. Here, let me see your neck." She reached out and very slowly and gently turned his head to the side to look at the bright red bite mark on his neck. "Don't worry... it's looking alot better now. It's not bleeding anymore and it's not as puffy. Just a red crescent. There will be a scar, but nothing too noticeable." She kept talking as she inspected the boy's neck. Emelia pulled herself onto the bed, and sitting behind Alex, helping the teen sit up. She was too strong for him to get out of. "Here, drink. It's just normal orange juice." ((Short ))
