Truthfully, I think having your religion on passports is a good idea. I just heard there was another attempt to take over an airplane by a terrorist. I haven't looked for details yet, but if we have religions on passports we could be notified of our enimies sooner than "I have a bomb strapped to my leg". Granted our machines take care of that stuff, but just saying. I think it would be a good and quick way to take down the terrorists. Yes, they can lie. That's another issue...

I am quite amazed you just said that.
I've been on international flights many times, and none of the planes I was on had a problem. confused

You should look up domestic terrorism and see how many are your average non-Muslim neighbor.

I know it's a stereotype. But aren't those the people that America is at war with? I know about our domestic terrorists, and I think they should be marked. Yea there is that neighborhood watchdog website, but I think there should be more done. This country is letting our "enemies" out of jail and not even letting us know who they are and what they did.

America is at war with terrorists, not Muslims. Get it right honey.

Muslims do NOT equal terrorists.
Are you aware that terrorists not only hate America, but their own "brothers and sisters" in Islam...there is a bombing in established cities in Pakistan by these "Muslims" Blowing up family mosques, schools and markets. Killing Innocent children, women and families who did NOTHING wrong. I dont want to get on the soapbox here, but I'm amazed you have your head sat in the sand so much....

Also, as the guy said a few posts below me profiling based on religion is not legal, thanks be to God.

Last time I checked it was the "War on Terror" not "War on Muslims."

That wouldn't be too smart, it would give us all a false sense of security because while the airport searches your average friendly Muslim the real terrorists won't be "Muslim". That type of profiling doesn't work, people are smart, they'll find someone who can easily blend in.
Actually, the most troubling thing about this offer is the idea of being suspected as a terrorist for you religion. There are over 1.5 billion Muslims in this world, I'm absolutely certain not even 0.0000000000001% of them aren't going to blow up a plane. You can't tag them as dangerous for religious reasons.

Isn't that one in a billion? I'm pretty sure there's more then one and a half terrorists.
I admit I didn't bother counting the zeros.
It isn't verified data anyway, and I'm sure you get the point anyhow.

I wasn't aware I said that America was in a war with Muslims. I said terrorists. All of you are assuming I said Muslims. I know the difference between these terrorists and Muslims. We have a bunch of Muslims in America and they are not terrorists. Granted there may be a few, but there are other terrorists that are in different cults/religions and some that aren't even religious. I don't know where everyone is getting this from that I've said Muslims are terrorists therefore our enemies... I never said it.

I assumed that because you suggested having their passports marking them as Muslims could help stop terrorism. Hence making the connection between being a terrorist and being a Muslim.

Because you said putting our religion of Islam on a passport is good, so that America can know it's enemies. Words are everything, and you must be able to see how that looked.

I understand your confusion because I too sometimes word things differently than what I meant in negative ways because I think differently... but everyone is right, you must be very careful how you word things, it sounded like you were being.... religionist...??? is that a word?? I never thought about what prejudice against religion is.... except for for specific religions...

If you're going to include that, why not just write down sexual orientation and the candidate you voted for during the last election. Just to make sure we can discriminate on as many people as possible.

Assume... You people need to ask before you jump all over someone for misinterpreting their words. We are not in a war with Muslims. I'm not in the war at all. It's the US.

Holy sh*t, did you just say that putting your religion on your passport will make it easier to identify you as a terrorist???
No sh*t. Putting 'Muslim' on your passport is not the same as putting "Terrorist" on it.
What people like you need to learn is that Muslim =/= terrorist. And only sometimes does terrorist = muslim.

But doesn't the world already hate everyone? I mean, South Korea hates the USA, I'm sure Vietnam still does, Russia , I'm sure isn't too fond of it. The whole terrorist thing is definitly pointless. But they believe their god wants them to do it for their country. The whole 40 virgins thing, right? I don't know the beliefs of Muslims. I'm pretty much referring to the Al Quieda. I'm not entirely sure if they are even Muslims. I wouldn't consider them. I'd consider them extremists. I feel Bush jumped to conclusions with the 9/11 bombing. And of course there was that rumor about the oil, then to cover that up the WMD's fright... It's just rediculous.

Right. That TOTALLY rationalises your prejudice...[/sarcasm] rolleyes

You have to break it down or she'll deny it. Unless you show her EXACTLY where she said it, she'll insist that she didn't really say it and you just made it up. That's the only way to deal with her.
Just check out her profile and see the tons of flames from me. Hours of them. Unless she deleted them.
They're from that time when she said that denying the Holocaust is like denying that Jesus ever lived.

The only way you know how to deal with people is to harass them. Knock it off. I did not say anything about Muslims being terrorists. Stop reading something that I did not type. The US does have other enemies you know! And you know who is ganging up on me. All of the Jews in this guild. You are heartless and maybe that's where all your stereotypes come from. But you know. I have a good friend who is Jewish, but you people are just jerks.

You did say:

It seems like many then assumed that you meant all or many or most Muslims were terrorists which you are correct, you did not say that.

You later said:

I wasn't aware I said that America was in a war with Muslims. I said terrorists. All of you are assuming I said Muslims. I know the difference between these terrorists and Muslims.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like the problem comes with the way you present your ideas that and the fact that people are quicker to accuse then to question. It did look like you were saying that if we had to state our religions on our passport than we'd be able to create a safer environment because we would know who the Muslims were and from that it looked as if you were implying that Muslims were terrorists, but you didn't implicitly say it. It looks to me like what you are trying to get across doesn't always come out the way you were thinking it, either that or there's just enough room for people to logically insert their own ideas and assumptions. That's the impression I got from the holocaust denial thread as well, but maybe I'm wrong.

O.o But the one who did the bombing wasn't Muslim right? He was from Nigeria and in cahoots with the Al Quieda. Are they the same? Muslims and the Al Quieda? I wouldn't think so.
