Part 1:
yeah, the Ewed! Love them....... then the Master of course who else would it be at the end.
But what the hell is with the skeleton lighting/laser coming out out his hands?
hmmmmmmm............who would have thought that the four nocks would be the Master hitting a barrel with a stick. stare
Next is the two Catie guys, plus SHIMMER!!!!
hahahahahahah blaugh I love that part.
I really liked how Wilfred was the Doctor's last companion before he had to go.
Ok, please tell me I wasn't the only one that was some what freak out that the Master was everyone?

Part 2:
Love how they would unstrap the Doctor from the chair when they were getting away. It's like ok this is your last time as the Doctor so were are going to F@*$ with you as much as possible. smile
Awww! And then when he used "Allons-y" for the last time to crash the ship to earth. cry
Of course it was the TimeLords that messed with the Master and made him crazy. We finally get to see the them and they are crazy and want to "ascend" like they do in SG.
Please....................
Uh, can't believe the Doctor almost used a gun to kill someone. I was like "what, not uh" he doesn't use those. But then of course he just shoots the box like machine thing.
Then Wilfred gets stuck in the box of radiation and the Doctor saves him "Duh" by being shot with thousand of rays of radiation. I really thought that he was going to die/regenerate right then and there. eek
I was seriously freaking out! I so wasn't ready yet for him to go.
My favorite part at of all of it was at he end when he visted everyone.......
Marth and Mickey (when the hell did they get together?)........
Jack (in some radom alien bar of course trying to hooked up)........
Sara Jane ( I didn't like her in the beginning but she grew on me)......
Donna (she finally gets married and gets to be happy. Yeah!).........
ROSE ( I love Rose, she was always my favorite)............
and then finally time for him to regenerate and the fricking Ewed show up and they are all "We will sing to you, the universe will sing to you" ...that right there is when I started to break down crying crying
He is moving all around the Tardis in pain and of course his last words are
"I don't want to go"...............hello, I don't want you to go either!!!! crying
Uh, and then the new guy comes but the Tardis is crashing?.........I felt like he was trying to be too much like Tennet confused
I guess I will just have to wait and see in the new season if I end up liking him at all.

Lol, I agree I love the Shimmer. But remember with each new Doctor the Doctor has a new favorite word I suppose or a phrase that we recognise him with. For example, nine was "Fantastic!", ten was "Allons-y!" (let's go in French), also he said "Multi biene" (excuse spelling errors but means very good), and BBC has it as "I'm sorry, so sorry" (which is the sad one), so I am going to assume that the elevens will now be "Geronimoe!!" I like it but I will miss "Allons-Y, Alonzo!" blaugh

2: i got kinda angry at 10 when he was ranting about saving Wilf. It might be because i just love Wilf that much that i don't want people yelling at him but the Doctor was kinda acting jerkish at the end by yelling at Wilf stare i mean he saved some guys life (the guy who was in the radiation thing) AND came back to help the Doctor (he really didn't but still it's the thought that counts) just don't yell at Wilf or you die 3nodding

I couldn't possibly get angry at him for that scene. It was pretty obvious that 10 was going to save him anyway, and you could just tell by the look on Wilf's face that 10 was just blowing off steam before sucking it up and taking the blow. And considering all the "cop out" death foreshadowing up 'til this point (what the hell, RTD?? You're a d**k), I think 10 was entitled to a rant.

I don't think it'd be very in character for him not to rant, honestly. 10 is such an emotive sensitive doctor, and I liked that about him. His last words were perfect heart

CriminalMindsluver13 - I'd love to see an interview or something where she says that, because that *could* make sense, but for me it's just theory and speculation unless TPTB say otherwise.

I was going to explain why the Doctor was yelling before saving Wilf, but it's already been mostly explained. The Doctor was definitely going to save Wilf, it's just that he knew it would trigger regeneration and why did that have to be his 'reward' for saving so many people. He really was just complaining that life isn't fair. And then he went and did the right thing anyway. Because that's who he is.
And that's who Wilf is, saving the other guy.

All this is about to change because according to a report in Daily Telegraph the final adventure to feature the tenth incarnation of the Doctor as played by David Tennant will introduce us all to his mother, and she will be played by 78 – year old veteran actress Claire Bloom, who was given a pretty big career break by the late classic silent movie star Charlie Chaplin.

Bloom has had a distinguished career in Theatre, Television and Movies, and made a name for herself in Hollywood for taking on some of the most iconic Shakespearian roles in movies such as Richard III, in which she played Lady Anne.

The Telegraph reports that Bloom will next year appear next to David Tennant playing The Doctors mother, a character, which we have never heard about, but sometimes heard references to in the 1996 movie and recent series.

β€œIt is happening. They are filming at the moment. I have been organising her schedule,” her manager in America, Marion Rosenberg, is reported to have told the Daily Mail.

Part 1: The Master tries to come back and fluffs it up.

Part 2: The Timelords try to come back and fluff it up, with a Harry Potter epilogue on the end.

In summary, part one wins because purely because it didn't go on as long as part 2.

Either way they were both poor, and part 2's probably going right up there with Love and Monsters as one of the episodes I'll skip repeat viewing on the DVD.

Ah, well. Clean slate and all. Roll on the spring.

I'm glad someone else actually shares my view of it... Personally, I think Nine got a way better ending.

I think 10's end might've been so much better if RTD didn't cram so much craziness together into a two parter. I mean I know that having these big epic storylines in 1 or 2 episodes are sort of the in thing nowadays. But I think in this case it really hurt the plot. Why didn't they just scrap the Planet of the Dead special altogether and just add another episode to flesh out the End of Time story?

It would've been more awesome if they extended it into a three part story so the timelords had more story and the master didn't come back alluvasudden like bam with a doomsday device placed in his lap! Heck, they could've made a whole episode about why the Ood are advancing too quickly leading up to the creepy prophesy. But no, we're stuck with a filler ep miles away from the finale where random psychic lady goes "your song is ending" at the very freaking end of the episode. RTD is waaaay too obsessed with playing around with his audience, and needs to pay more attention to writing better plots. Very sloppy.

I mean... I still enjoyed watching EoT (I think it was the acting that made it for me), and I'll accept it and look forward to the next Doctor, but it just wasn't anywhere near as fantastic as I thought it would be.

Oh, that Ood business bugs me to no end. Why is he *still* trying to set up continuity when the entire production's more or less changing hands? Goddamn Russel and his tentacle fetish D:<

I also love how for all it's pretentions of grandiosity the two episodes loosely amount to the doctor running round a dump in part one and then facing off against a small group of middle aged men in part two who do approximately nothing of any epic scale whatsoever.

I guess they blew their budget on all those missiles, eh?

Also, Tennant's ending would probably have had more punch if he hadn't sprung back to his feet seconds later in preparation to go jaunting off to all corners of the world.

Why they didn't just have him turn to the camera, mug a shameless grin and say 'Thanks for the last four years, folks! Here come the supporting cast!' and instead elected for that farce of an ending is anyone's guess. I mean, if it was good enough for Hartnell...

I've never liked the Ood that much... I always thought they were kind of pointless. And he used them WAY too much. And then he never even explained WHY they had advanced so fast! I mean, he sort of implied it had something to do with... maybe the Master... or the Time Lords... or... uh... something.

All the death predictions drove me crazy... When I originally said it dragged on too long, I just meant the last episode. But what I just realized was that they have been dragging out this death for nearly TWO YEARS!!! Ever since the first "Your song is ending" thing in Planet of the Ood back in April of 2008. I mean, back then it was like, "Oh, no! The Doctor's gonna die!" A year later, Easter of 2009, I was still upset and concerned when that lady said it again. Then, Waters of Mars made me just... not really care anymore. And by the time End of Time was over, I was SO HAPPY to see Matt Smith, you have no idea... rolleyes

You can't blame them for dragging it out, I guess. What with the way our media is these days and the fact that something is ridiculous as them changing their lead actor can make NATIONAL NEWS, they have to have some way of countering the fact everybody's going to know about the event before it happens. Their tactic was just to make the build-up to the death the focal point, not the actual death itself. Which was smart, right up until they lost sight of making decent episodes in favour of constantly shoehorning these obscure references to the future in.

There were bits I liked in the specials, mind. I thought the Master's plan was actually sort of genius, after getting over the initial 'wtf?' factor. And the moment where Tennant realises his gig's still up with Wilfred's remorseful tapping on the glass did nearly choke me up. Outside of those two isolated incidents, however, there was very little that made any sort of sense to any of it :/

That was pretty increadible how it got on to the news. It just shows how big it has become and how iconic it is. You can't really tell when you were a doctor who fan before 2005.

interesting comments so far, here's my two cents:

Part 1, was pretty good, especially showing Timothy Dalton...I was like oh crap, James Bond then seeing a whole Master race lol didn't know how they were going to top that until the TIME LORDS showed up...ummm oh crap!!

Part 2, seeing as this was the final for both Davies and Tennent I knew this was going to be a grand wrap up. "Worst Resue Ever!" funny line. Diaglogue between Wilf and the Doctor was great...finally someone to go back and forth on the old age angle.

Stand off between all the Time Lords was good and an interesting way to get them out of the storyline. But yes very sad when the 4 knocks turned out just to be an old harmless man wanting to get out of a locked room. The fit the Doctor threw was good because he knew he was screwed.

Seeing him visit all of his old companions was sad but worth. I'm betting we'll probably never see them again. A good touch to see that end with Rose...I still say she was his great love. The music played during this part was great, if I can find it, i want it!

The regeneration was good, sad but good, very fitting to see him just hop up and check everything over. Laughed at the "Still not ginger!" line, poor Doctor.

I'll definitely be looking foward to next season with Smith. Funniest part, I'm an American Moffatt while Steven Moffat's taking over control of Doctor Who. Since he's already directed some episodes, the show's in good hands.
