Shini and Kami were now at the other side of the village, Kami was lying down while Shini sat cross-legged. By now, the others had grown over ther initial curiousity and were no longer throwing glances over to them. Kami looked longingly at the sky, he really wanted to stretch his wings.

"Not yet, you know we can't," Shini reasoned.
Kami answered unhappily, "I know, I know, we can't risk being found out by the Drakes. We only just left, they're probably looking out for any dragons that aren't where they were assigned." Despite that, he was still a bit irritated that he couldn't fly.
Shini rubbed his head helplessly, "How about this," she suggested, "We can fly once the sun has set, when it's harder to see you."
"Really!" Kami's eyes gleamed as he quickly brought his head up and flashed his teeth in excitement, the move gleam from his teeth and scales caught the attention of those around them who immediately put up their guards.
Shini noticed that and whispered to Kami, "Calm, calm. We can. No one will see us and I don't see why not." It was the least she could do. She knew that Kami's white scales could be seen even in the dark, but they still weren't that easy to spot. Kami knew it too but his excitement had caused him to completely forget about it. Shini thought to herself, .
Kami put his head back down on the grass, happy that he'd be able to fly at night.

Shadowtooth still didn't have on his armor for his upper body, but finished cleaning his spear. "Maybe making it sharper would help too..." He said. He began training. He went through the basic steps every drake clawbearer knew. He began to speed up and preform advanced steps. He used a tree as his practice dummy. He twirled his spear like a staff and used it to vault himself behind the tree. He sliced it several times and swung around to the front.

All his training was making him tired, but he kept up. He lovd the feeling, the rush of combat, even if the enemy wasn't alive. He stopped in id-swing. He was hungry. He left his chst plate and shoulder pads and ran back. He wanted to eat something desperatly.

Tiagara thought over giving her name to the drake.
On the one hand, he had introduced himself and proper etiquette required her to do so too.
But...on the other hand, after all, not only was he a drake, he was also a stranger, wasn't he? Well, now that he introduced himself... Shadowtooth...that's so pompous! such a great name for a drake! she mentally snickered. ..so he was not technically a full stranger anymore.

As the elf was about to scratch her head, the other drake seemed to move. Tiagara almost chuckled at how tiny it was, especially next to the huge dragon and the clawbearer.
The dark hair elf looked at the two drakes with interest. She could feel some unease between the two although she did not know why. She smirked as they both walked away in different directions.

She stayed immobile for a moment and decided to go straight, in a third direction.

A few minutes later, she had forgotten all about the drakes as she fell in admiration in front of a superbe equine with flashing blond hair.

Perhaps it would have been easier to walk, Glacon reflected, as he shoved the hist bale of hay up onto the growing stack in the dusty barn. In that case he wouldn't have ended up spending the rest of his afternoon helping unload this oxcart of hay bales. Sweat beaded on his brow as he turned back to the cart. On the other hand, walking across the plains of Mideam would have taken another week at least. More, if the warm weather continued. Glacon untucked a rag from his belt and wiped the sweat from his face. All in all, he had probably made the right decision.

"This is the last one," said Kurtic, one of the two Equines who drove the cart on which he had ridden. From a height several feet taller than Glacon, Kurtic reached down and jerked the last bale out of the cart. Resting the bale on his chestnut brown horse-half, Kurtic let his powerful lower muscles carry the weight of the bale, as Glacon looked on enviously.

"You were a great help," said Kurtic, as he flipped the last bale onto the pile. "I am glad that we could give you a lift."

"Our meeting benefited me as well!" said Glacon. "I would be much the wearier if I had made the journey on my two feet rather than with the help of your four!"

Kurtic laughted and mimed a kick at Glacon's shin. "It was a pleasure, traveler, and should you ever need transportation again, I'm sure I can find some bales of hay for you to lift. If you need lodging, just look for the sign of the pilgrim as you walk down the main street. And remember - sundown!"

As Glacon left the dusty barn where they had unloaded their cargo, he wondered if he would still be in time to hear this Ferron person speak. Kurtic had briefly mentioned a gathering at sundown, but wouldn't say why it was tonight, or why he felt it was important that Glacon attend on this particular evening.

Glacon's feet kicked up small puffs of dust and he absentmindedly picked the remaining loose pieces of straw from his hair as he ambled off towards what looked to be the center of the town.

Tiagara had noticed the two equines and a short Borean, but her attention was fully dedicated to the blond hair one. She looked with an obvious satisfaction at the muscles of the 'man' who was shirtless.
Her mind was half concentrating on the good look of the hybrid and half on the fact that he was shirtless. Now that she was thinking about it...could equine wear shirts?! She was puzzled.

People looking at the elf would have been quite amused by the look on the woman's face which was a mixture of deep questioning, earthly lust and simple wonder.

Once again, she thought that it would be interesting to touch this unique creature...however her motivations were somewhat different from what they were when she was facing that drake...what was his name again...? Sadtooth or Shapetooth...she did not remember and did not really care.

Shadowtooth saw somebody walk out of a house with food. He swung down, but hung onto the ledge of the building. They were frozen in shoke. Shadowtooth stared them in the eye for a second. He wished he'd brought along his armor, he felt strange being shirtless in front of a crowd. The person stared back. Shadowtooth snaked out his tounge. That did it. The person fell to the ground. Shadowtooth laughed at what had happened. He dropped down and gathered food for himself. Back home, not wearing a shirt would be slightly normal, but here was just weird.

Shini watched as Kami slept. She had managed to convince him that it was safe here and that she'd sleep as well. The first was probably true and the second was, obviously, a white lie. Though, it wasn't like she really needed to sleep, she had managed to get some rest while Kami was flying over to Goodwill. Either way, it was the least she could do in thanks for him watching her back all the time.

As she kept watch over Kami, Shini's stomach rumbled a bit, she hadn't noticed how hungry she was until now. she thought to herself as she pushed down the sensation. She had some food left over in her bag, enough to last a few days if used wisely, but she didn't want to eat without Kami. Especially since he'd need to hunt his own food. Meaning that they'd have to wait until nighttime, when he can fly unnoticed.

Shini pulled her knees up as she waited for the announcement that the leader of Starfall, Ferron, was supposed to make. At least, that's what she got from listening in on the conversations around her.

Tiagara daydreaming was stopped as she heard the noise of a body hitting the ground. She was startled and looked away from the muscled torso of the equine to notice a borean falling on the ground.
She frowned.
Her frown became a clench of jaws when she saw the responsible for the commotion. Her eyes met another bare chest, the one of the drake, but which had nothing of appealing for the dark elf.

"Nice!" she commented with a loud voice.

"I see that you are indeed here to answer the call." she made a couple of steps towards the drake and people were stopping walking to observe the scene with interest.

A new commotion, this time somewhat closer to the center of the town, attracted Shini's attention from her scribbles in the dirt. This commotion was definitely in the town, but not so far in that she couldn't see it. A crowd was gathering and she thought that she could see the Dark Elf and Drake, Shadowtooth, from before. She was mildly curious, but not enough to go and check it out herself.

Kami continued to snooze away.

Shadowtooth turned around. "Yes, can I help you?" He asked still disgusted. He had food in his mouth from his recent venture. He couldn't talk as well. "How long did it take you to peice that together?" He asked smirking slightly. He noted people watching him with interest. He thought about making a break for it, but that would also show weakness.

Tiagara sighed. So that stupid drake in front of her was here to answer a call for peace and to prove his goodwill he was stealing food from the inhabitants of ...Goodwill. Very ironic thought the dark elf as she shook her head.

That monster was pathetic. She smirked. The main characters of her childhood nightmares were actually very stupid creatures which had only their muscles and strength for themselves. She sighed again.

The dark elf was putting aside the fact that the drake had probably killed many before and was used to real fights whereas she new all by theory and training, but had never been put into real situation.
Seeing how that beast was behaving with the stupidest behavior ever, Tiagara felt strong...but not stupid.

She knew that if she were to attack the beast, no one would help her.
The attempt of the Tooth guy to hurt her did not touch her at all.

"Probably longer than it took you to steal that food, that's for sure!" she answered with a bright smile. Her voice was loud and people were starting nodding their heads in approval.

Glacon walked further down the street into the town, watching with interest the mix of races represented in the bustle. The sleek and acrobatic Katar contrasted with the slower moving bulk of the Ursines, but complemented each other in the earth tones that their pelts used as palette. The occasional Borean lent a cooler tone to the scene, their blue skin and white hair making them very visible. The Equines would have been most notable, as their height made them the most visible, had there but been fewer of them on the street.

As he moved deeper into the town Glacon gazed around for a cool place to sit and meditate upon all the life he saw before his eyes. A pool of shadow would be a nice rest from this dry heat, and a nice reminder of his homeland. He laughed at his own thought: why couldn't more interesting things happen back in that land of ice and snow? Just because the weather is unchanging doesn't mean it isn't an interesting place!

Shadowtooth swallowed it with ease. "Maybe your right, but don't forget your place below me summoner, though that may be too much praise for such a being of low status." The crowd quieted at the sudden words of the drake. He then shrugged and outstreched his arms. "As you can see, I haven't even taken everything." He said louder. The person that fainted was finally coming too.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 17, 2009 7:11 pm
Kami woke up when the crowd grew silent, the absence of the usual noise had awoken him. Shini took note of it as well.

"Why is it so quiet?" he yawned.
Shini simply shrugged, "I don't know."
"Shouldn't we go check it out?"
"Why?"
"What do you mean 'why'? We're going to be a part of this group, we might as well check something major out. Plus, most of the town is there."
Shini simply shrugged again, "It really doesn't have anything to do with us."
Kami continued arguing, "Yes it does and I know you're curious about it."
Kami was correct about the last part at least, leaving Shini no choice but to give some ground. "Fine," she relented, "if it gets any more serious, then we'll go and see what it's about."

"Oh I am not the one forgetting something."

Tiagara starting chuckling softly. Poor drake, still thinking with the old preachings of his own faction and yet here to listen Ferron speak about peace. The clawbearer had probably been cast away from his tribe to have wandered here or maybe he was just truly stupid...maybe retarded? She wondered and pondered the options, slowly rocking her head from one side to the other.

She pointed at the food.

"I think that you are punishing yourself for stealing food which is not yours. This dish you stole is call bouaillabesse. A delicious dish for any Borean, however your drake digestive system will not support it." she pinched her lips not to burst laughing. She silently thanked her old master for his teachings. Know your enemy as well or even better than yourself... he advised her often.

"At the best, it will be painful for a couple of hours, at worst, well, you'll see."

She was truly glad though that the man who fainted only fainted and was not harmed.
