OH!! I got a Jewish joke if you allow me to post it without anyone being mad. What's faster than the speed of light? A Jew with a Coupon. I know that's a really stereotypical one but it's just a joke and someone told me it. Also Please don't be mad and if you wanna post some jokes to get back at me go right ahead I can't wait to hear some Pagan jokes. Ha ha anyway as long as whoever you tell the jokes to don't get mad I don't see why it would matter as long as they know your kidding around.

it would appear that at least most of those who voted feel the same way... When I was still a devout christian i took lots of jokes about christianity, Jesus, and various holidays but if they were funny I took them very wel... when I find my new religion I will be the same way with that one...

I'm a man of science and my friend is a die hard christian. We both crack jokes on eachother all the time lol. It depends on the situation and how insulting the joke really is. There are lines you can cross.
If you make a joke about someones religiion than expect to get a joke back. If not you don't even need to bring it up.

I actually hear jokes about my religion all the time from our members! Them Mormons, sixteen wives and pullin' them handcarts...
xD I'm jk'ing as usual, but yeah, I hear our own people make fun of our religion all the time. I usually make fun of Mormons, Jews, and Catholics, just 'cuz I can relate to them. ^-^

PrometheanSet Though there's a time and a place for it, I'll make fun of any religion (in that time, at that place). Yeah, I mean, as long as it's done in the name of harmless fun, right?

weirdell I usually make fun of Mormons, Jews, and Catholics, just 'cuz I can relate to them. ^-^ You know, that's pretty normal. You make jokes about what you know, good and bad. I'm not a big one for religious jokes myself. I'm just not good at it. But I don't have a problem with a bit of humor, no matter what it's directed at, as long as you can take as much as you give.

I think it's a way to make enemies fast. There are always more religious people in the room than I ever realize. It makes everyone uncomfortable. There is only one person that I joke with about religion and that is only because I know him very well (and he's atheist anyway) and never among mixed company. But even then it's used very sparingly as humor, because it just seems like too tender of a subject to be poking at, even lightheartedly.

I'd say it depends on who you are talking to. If they are the type of person who rambles nonstop about their beliefs and gets defensive about everything you say or do, then obviously don't tell them a joke like that.
But if they are the type of person to say those kinds of jokes, then it's okay.
And also it depends on the way it is intended.

Right. 3nodding I do make fun of other people's religions, but I do it for harmless fun, not as a way to win debates/arguments nor to be a general a*****e.

I'll make lighthearted jokes with my friends who I know will take it well, and they do the same for me. Mostly, though, we're not making fun of each others religions so much as stereotypes. One of my Jewish friends and I always tease each other and make sarcastic mean comments across the room.
I think it's best reserved for people you know will understand, though. Not everyone has the same kind of humor.
