"It's worth looking into and researching," Onuris agreed with a small nod and a chuckle at her salute.
He stared at his menu and glanced up at her over the edge of it with an amused expression, "No, by all means have chicken. It is quite alright. I eat chicken from time to time, it's pretty tasty." He said with a small laugh and shrugged his shoulders as he stared down at his menu again, "Besides, they aren't very pretty to look at or too smart," he said in an almost smug tone. No they weren't as pretty at him or as smart. At least he can avoid being eaten...and fly short distances.
HA! Take that chickens!

Thae peered over her menu at the Man-Bird, pursing her lips together. Perhaps Gaia wasn't so different from the In Between at all! Survival of the fittest and all that. "Okay then, chicken it is!" Because it sounded good, and she thought it would be nice to keep Onuris at the top of the food chain, so to speak. She imagined that Neveah wouldn't like it if Onuris got eaten, so if she ate more chickens, they wouldn't have to look for other kinds of bird to fry!
The waiter came by and Thae placed her order, waiting for Onuris to do the same. The Menus were removed and once more they were along, only this time her hands were folded neatly on the table, twiddling her thumbs idly. "So...do you have children?"

"Good good," he said cheerfully as he peered down at his menu and decided that the Ziti would be good for him and when the waiter came by to take their orders that is what he told them. Then closed the menu and let them take it from him before he folded his hands over the top of the table and staring down at it a moment before 'Thae spoke up. He looked up at her and blinked a little.
"Hmm? Oh yes, I do. I have two daughters - both adopted," he said simply with a small smile, "one is a teenager and the other is toddler aged. They are ... good girls." Onuris said with a light nod. He loved both of the girls despite their quirks, "I know...Neveah had a son did you end up taking over guardianship for him?"

"Quite the age difference." Thae nodded, pondering. A Teenager and a Toddler...hmm. Then again, a lot of children grew very quickly on Gaia, so it wasn't too surprising in the end. When he asked about Neveah's son, the doppleganger nodded. "She had three sons in the end, actually...Zasalamel and twin infants. I...am pretty sure that they were adopted." Because she had no stretch marks on her...and twins were sure to leave a scar. That, and... "The twins were taken away just after I came to life, I can only imagine their real parents came to claim them." That and she was too new to life to really care for infants...it was probably for the best.
"Zasalamel...grew up and moved away with his mate very quickly. I am still his Guardian, but he is his own man." Scratching at her cheek, the Doppleganger gave a humming noise before leaning back, extending her hands width wise then length wise. "He is very big now, tall, muscled...runs a dojo in Durem now, yes...Though I suppose he's still only a teenager. Old soul, that boy."

He knew about Zasalamel but the twins were a bit new to him, still he nodded, "I know the oldest was adopted for sure," he said simply with a small shrug. No matter how strange and wonderful the world is no one could just give birth to a drow without being drow themselves and also without at least having sex with a drow. As far as he knew Neveah hadn't done any of these things and wasn't drow. He could be completely wrong about most or all of these things. The twins were still a bit new on him. Either way...He might have to agree it was for the best.
"My youngest, Nell, is a bit of a handful, very energetic and interested in everything...My oldest, Metis, is a lot calmer," he said simply and shrugged as he listened to how Zah turned out. Onuris nodded a bit, "I met him only once but he was a very interesting young'n."

"He had to have been, I don't think Neveah ever procreated, recreationally or otherwise." Anethae mused innocently, tapping her lips with a thin finger. She'd imagine she would've known something like that, since this body was more or less borrowed. She listened to Onuris recounting the personalities of his children, nodding at just the right spots. "Are you taking care of them alone? It seems like an awful lot of work."
The waiter came by with their drinks; Thae had only wanted water. She liked water, it was simple and refreshing! "Cheers." She said, raising her glass to Onuris then taking a sip.

Onuris nodded a bit, it wasn't like it was any of his business if Neveah even did that recreationally or otherwise with other people since they never got that far themselves so who would he have been to judge if she went with others while they were apart? Still he couldn't help but feel a small sense of relief about that... Pointless though it may be. He shook his head at her question, "Not really, my younger sister helps me out a lot."
He also had only wanted water. For various reasons mostly because it was better for him than most of the other things he could drink. Sugar made him too hyper, caffeine made him edgy, and alcohol...He couldn't hold his alcohol very well at all. He'd gotten a little better over the years but he still was a 'cheap date'. He raised his glass in return, "Cheers."
"..What are you doing to support yourself?" Onuris asked out of curiosity.

"Oh, that's good." She hummed, clinking her glass with his. Anethae never had alcohol before, but if she did, she probably would be quite the light weight...an interesting notion should she ever try it, that's for sure. Her methods of support caught her attention, and she lightly swirled her glass, making the water spin.
"I work at a Correctional Facility for Criminals..." She trailed off, a little frown on her lips. The job put her in contact with some very strange people...and a lot of which threatened her physical well being. "It scares me..." Thae admitted, staring at her glass to avoid looking at him in her currently scared frame of mind. "I've been trying to pick up where Neveah left off in her research, though..." Biting down on her lip with a little gnaw, she decided that was enough for her. "And you?"

After the glasses clinked together he took a sip before setting his glass down and listening to her words with a light tilt of his head and a brief frown crossed over his lips. It was never any good to be frightened of one's work though he could understand why. He gazed down at the blank part of his end of the table, certainly he didn't have to but she obviously needed all the friends and help she could get, "If you ever need someone to help...I can try to do whatever I can." He'd even hide her in his home if it came to that.
Onuris looked up at her when she asked her question and smiled a bit, "I'm a performer of sorts. I do tricks and dances that involve blades," he said quietly with a small shrug, "it is a very risky specialty but I do alright for myself...I was getting myself some gauze and such for just in case as well as a bit of protection..." Sometimes gauze was cheaper than always buying new thick protective gloves.

Onuris' offer touched her. Her expression softened and a little smile came to her lips, nodding once. "Thank you, Onuris, really." She said sincerely, more or less a mirror of something Neveah had said to him a long time ago. "I...will need your contact information then...please." Because some days she really did fear for her safety, and being alone in that house was, for lack of better words, frightening.
A performer with bladeS? Neat! "Oh, that sounds exciting! Where may I get tickets?" She wanted to see this! Dances and tricks were always fun, it was amazing what peopld could do. "You were? Ah, then, I'm sorry for interrupting you. I can do some minor healing! I can assist you after a show if you like, by manner of apology?"

Onuris didn't have business cards so the request for contact information caused a momentary pause and a bit of a blank look before he finally seemed to figure out a solution as he leaned and stretched and snagged a pen (he made sure they had an extra before he took it) from the apron of a passing waiter without them noticing his feather light touch before he took up his paper napkin and began to write out his contact information and he then handed the napkin back with a small smile. He wasn't a thief but he did have a few skill sets that allowed him to pull off a handful of things.
"Well I don't exactly perform anywhere where you need tickets," he said with a small smile, "how about you give me your contact information and I can contact you about where I am performing and at what time." He offered her the momentarily stolen pen.

Thae noticed the momentary theft of the pen, but said nothing; it was impressive on its own that he managed to get it without alerting it's owner! That meant he was very good with his hands...which of course meant he would have been amazing at his sword dance! Thae took the offered napkin, looking it over before carefully folding it and sliding it into one of her pockets. Almond shaped eyes stared at the offered pen, and after taking it, she carefully and meticulously wrote her home address and phone number, labeling it only as 'Thae'.
"I would really appreciate it if you would contact me." She confirmed, handing the napkin as well as the pen to him. Not too much longer the food arrived, and Thae only stared down at it for a moment or two. "Well...it looks good." She said after a moment and once the waiter was gone, flicking her gaze back up to her dining partner.
"I read somewhere that some people say 'grace'...do you?" She certainly didn't, but she wanted to be considerate.

He took the contact and nodded a bit, "I really will! Thank you."
When the food arrived he sat back a bit and let it be placed in front of him. Onuris glanced over at Thae and shook his head, "I don't really put much stock in religion. Religion and I aren't.... on 'speaking' terms I guess you could say," he murmured quietly as he picked up his fork and started to eat his meal without any sort of furthered explanation. Of course if she asked him for it he would give it but otherwise he like that subject to be safely dropped away into a bottomless pit.

"Oh. Okay then!" That seemed fair enough to her! No reason or need to expand on it, really. The topic was dropped and Thae ate in relative silence, occasionally stopping to comment on how great the food was, or to indulge in idle chitchat about this thing or the next.
Eventually their meals were finished and cleared, Thae had sneakily put in to pay for their meal; he did steal medicine for her, after all. Well, maybe not stole, but...one way or another, he got it to her. After dabbing her mouth and pushing out her chair, she moved to get to her feet.
"Did you still want to see the marker, before we part ways...?" It was a depressing turn of events after such a nice dinner, but...it was something she figured was very important.

After his little spiel over how he felt about religion he was more than happy to chitchat with her and even agreed with her that the food was quite good. His spirit brightened considerably by the end of the meal and chuckled a bit as she snuck in and took the payment for the meal right from under him. Alright he would let her have that for now. Next meal though? He was paying for it!
Onuris stood up and paused for a moment before he nodded, "Yes, I would. I know it's a sad way to part ways but I really would like to see it, just for the peace of mind..."
