The girl had been cringing, and he had heard more footsteps approaching. She could even hear a pair of feet coming closer and closer to herself. In fear, she gripped herself even tighter, curling up slightly more into a ball like an armadillo might do. Within a few seconds, everything felt so different.
This stranger had pressed their hand gently in her hair, and like wildfire, she could suddenly feel again. Out of necessity more than anything, she took in a big breath of air through her nose, as if emerging from some sort of underwater cavern. She lifted her face from her lap, and her deep purple eyes darted around curiously. Her stomach no longer hurt, and she was no longer felt scared out of her wits. Yet for some reason, water was now leaking quite quickly from the corners of her eyes. When the tears hit the gag, they merely got absorbed by the cloth. It was only when this girl who reminded her of one of her classmates removed the cloth that her tiny quivering smile could be seen.
She had yet to find her voice, but her lips managed to shape out the words "thank you" in this girl's direction. It was honestly all she could do right now. Yvette was still Yvette, and no matter how much she wanted to hug onto "her savior," she was still the shy reserved girl she had always been.
Speaking of shy and reserved, it was about this time she noticed that she really was getting a bit of a draft between her legs thanks to her extra short skirt. For the first time in a long time, her cheeks grew rosy as she readjusted herself so she wasn't flashing her panties at everyone nearby. Her eyes fell to the ground shyly as she continued to cry silent tears of happiness.

Before any of his questions could be answered, more living people were showing up. Where had they been when he was running around alone for all that time? Held up somewhere? And why were two of them in such weird outfits? Barren Pines didn't allow that kind of stuff. Either way, they were here now and that meant he could finally take a bit of the emotional weight off of his shoulders.
Amidst the talking among themselves, Topher could only dream of what they were speaking of. What was he good for? Why was it him? Was he immune or something? Were they looking for a vaccine of some kind? A...zombie vaccine? Was that even possible? It wasn't until the girl in green started moving closer to Yvette that he really started to get antsy. His mouth opened as he tried to speak all his words were cut short as a bright white light surrounded her. His fingers twitched and his body went rigid. Nothing could have prepared them for that. Even as a much too mature voice came from the girl telling him that it was quite alright, he was still less than comforted.
"Uh...yeah. I'm sure things will be fine..." He tried to smile but all that showed through was a slightly less confused expression. Honestly, the entire situation was stunning him into silence. Had this been any other time, he would have been running his mouth nonstop until someone told him what was happening. No one was telling him what was going on. And now Yvette was crying. Topher wanted to go over to her, comfort her and tell her that everything would be okay but her gag was removed. He turned to Sue, wondering if there was something that he could read off of him. A facial expression? A smile? A frown? Anything that could clue him into how he, himself should be feeling but all that was there was a strange sort of pen being held out to him.
Taurus...
"Wait? What? I am a Taurus if that's what you mean or at least my birthday says I am..." What was this? A consolation prize for being born in early May? Even though he had no grasp of the situation, he still took the henshin pen, unaware of its real power. Even though the reason was unknown to him, he was drawn to it. He felt as if the thing in his hand was more important to his survival than his pool stick ever was. "What is this pen thing for? What is all of this for? Can anyone tell me what's actually going on before I go crazy?"

Queen Serenity laid her hand briefly on Yvette's hair, and then stood again. She was walking towards Topher, and Topher now received the full burst of what it was like to stand before -- well -- whatever she was; she was a burst of radiance, of natural authority, of something impossibly otherworldly and calm. More comforting than Sue, though that wasn't Sue's fault. (He was barely two for one on the awakening stakes at this point.)
"You're a sailor senshi," she told him. "You're a member of the Zodiac Guard." Everything about her prompted a kind of: yes in him, an answering all right, yes, that's me, now I know. "Second-in-command to their Captain. You won't be able to transform to your soldier form at the moment, but you're desperately needed. Please, accept your pen."
A smile. "And be assured you're no madman."

It wasn't long before he was spinning the pen between his fingers out of nervousness, the pool stick in his other hand swaying back and forth. To anyone looking, he was probably starting to seem antsy and nervous. They were right. He felt like he was honestly about to go insane until the girl in green, the Queen herself, came towards him. All his movements stilled, the pen resting once again in his palm. He was drawn to everything about her. The light she seemed to give off. The air of royalty. Everything. He felt the sudden urge to bow before her and pledge some sort of undying loyalty to her. The madness was gone, overwhelmed by a softer, warmer feeling.
"Zodiac guard?..." Everything started flooding into his mind like he was snapping out of a coma. His mind was instantly awash with acceptance as she continued. Though this was the boy who would believe almost anything, he had never been more certain of something before. All the words she spoke were true. He was a sailor senshi. The look of confusion plastered on his face hardened into a much more dutiful expression. He was needed and he knew it. Somehow, he knew it. The boy grasped the pen tight, clutching it against his chest as he bowed his head to whomever the presence before him was.
"Yes, of course. I'll will try to help you as best as I can," he responded, voice calm and clear. Even if he couldn't quite reach this 'soldier' form she spoke of it didn't mean he couldn't be of any use. They needed his help and that was all that mattered.

Her eyes slowly, but surely began to dry up, tears of happiness evaporating as she sat there. She hadn't been trying to eavesdrop, but it was really hard to not listen when the whole conversation was happening immediately in front of her. The stranger that had healed her gently placed a hand upon her dark hair, and she felt calm. When the green haired girl stood up, Yvette was not in the right place of mind to do the same. It was not that she did not want to get up. She wanted to stand up and to wander over to her friend, keeping close to his side. Maybe the proximity would make her feel even more at ease?
Yet, the one thing that was keeping her from doing all this was strictly confusion. Her savior seemed to be speaking riddles, and only now was the mismatching voice-to-body issue really touching her thoughts. Sailor Senshi, Zodiac Guard, Captain, soldier form, all of these words made no sense in context to the situation. And then here, Topher was, seeming to accept the whole ordeal without any hesitation.
Yvette had many questions, but resuming back to her usual nature, she once again could not find her voice. Instead, she remained on the ground, watching the whole situation in awe and curiosity, her eyes attempting to ask the questions her mouth could not. Her fingers gently brushed along the ground, getting dirt under her nails. She could feel it (which was a relief in itself), but she ignored it as she attempted to piece together an explanation of her own.

"Keep looking for survivors," the Queen advised, and then she moved away -- moved back to Sue, who was still a source of wtf, who had given Topher his pen in the first place. "Zue? Foramen, we must keep on moving. Time is of the essence."

See? Retarded cousins. Their second-in-command was a zombie-lover. Their princess had permanently killed her beloved just to get these senshi back. (Did she know she'd been ripped off, Foramen wondered. And had the poor guy gotten any say in the matter?)
At least the Queen was advising they move on.
"The other Zodiacs are back in the gym," Foramen advised Topher and his friend. "If you join them, then at least we'll be able to find you all in one place once we're done."
Because that was all Foramen cared about, apart from keeping the the Queen safe: what made this job easier for him.

Time to move on: Good. Sue was eager, overeager even, to find the rest of the Zodiac Guard, before fate caught up to them in this hellhole. But if they were all so eager to get moving, then why was everyone standing around?
... Oh, right. They needed him to decipher where the next Zodiac was. Way to be on the ball, Sue.
"There's two," he claimed, after a split second in which he referenced his mental directions. "Pretty close - we ought to be able to catch up with them fast, I bet."
He got two steps in the direction he'd picked out before an odd twinge from that other place in his mind struck him. Sue hesitated, just for a second. "Keep the both of you safe, Taurus." Sue didn't even bother to look at the Guard's second-in-command, and it sounded less like a plea, more like an order - but it didn't do much to dwell on the whys or hows of the delivery, Sue was already moving on. With Topher, that was just three of the Zodiacs discovered - five, if Virgo didn't screw up in tracking down Libra and Capricorn. Still so many to go....

Topher nodded when he got word of his mission. "Find survivors? Got it!" He honestly didn't think there were any other survivors left but he certainly wasn't going to go back on a direct order. Apparently the others were in the gym. For some reason, he knew better than to question about the others. He would obviously find them when he got there yes? Either way, there was no use holding them up anymore.
"I'll go to the gym and find the others first then." His gaze slowly wandered to Yvette. She seemed...normal. Whatever the green haired girl had done had cured her for the time being. Topher motioned towards her before sprinting off towards the gym. "Come on Yvette. You too!"

The only thing she understood was when the red-headed girl told them about the gymnasium. It was all very confusing. Putting her full faith in her savior, the red-headed girl, Sue, and Topher, Yvette weakly pushed herself up off the ground. Her legs were still weak after all this, and now her skirt was much shorter than it should have been. Her gag idea had been an excellent one, but now that zombie-munching was no longer a problem, it just left her a bit cold between the legs.
She looked to Topher and smiled one of her tiny smiles. Her dark haired friend had always been so energetic, and once again she'd have to chase after him. This time, it was different. He didn't look scared. He looked at her like how he used to look at her. It made her feel so warm. She attempted to start off running after him, but stumbled over her feet for the first few steps. However, she caught herself before falling on the ground again, her legs working as they were supposed to. With a light jog, she followed Topher as best as she could, smiling the whole time.
