Impasto managed to twitch his tail, the paralysis was wearing off, he looked back at Amaryllis, {Don't dither with that lump, he knows nothing o-} And his mouth and eyes were promptly filled with debris, the poor snake wailed, unable to wipe his eyes with his tail.
Lumin blinked, he wouldn't say as much, but the poor snake was probably better off with a mouth full of trash than with whatever his next line would have gotten him....

Raina watched as the snake came closer and closer to fainting, maybe Amaryllis could pull this off after all? Well... probably not but she was doing a damn good job. The young woman did not feel the need to say anything for she knew that Amaryllis would continue with the attack until she was told to do otherwise. This knowledge led to Raina watching as more mud and trash was flung at the snake. She sort of pitied him and was extremely grateful that she had never and hopefully never would be, in that position.
Amaryllis just shook her head as the snake prattled on and as soon as the last of the mud and debris had hit him she smacked her tail onto the ground, sending more flying in his direction.

Impasto wasn't feeling so well.. he felt.. like it was time for a dramatic exit, {Fair lady, I-} His head hit the road again, this time, his clear eyelids closed over his yellow eyes. A red beam enveloped him, and he returned to his Pokeball to rest.
Lumin shook his head, then looked at Amaryllis, "I am sorry about him, he can't help himself, and I have tried helping him in the past.. it just makes things worse." He pulled out another Pokeball, then threw it into the air, "Pastel, you're up."
The red beam revealed an Eevee, small even for his species. He looked around, then took a breath, {Oy! Whehe ah wey? 'At smell is 'orrabwe!} He shook his head, then looked at Amaryllis, he smiled childishly, {'Ello, ahm Pastel, 'oo ah you?}
Lumin rubbed his temples, Pastel was every bit as unfocussed as Impasto, but at least Impasto had been unfocused for a reason, and not just unfocused in general... Why, Arceus, why?

Raina watched as the snake returned and, it it's place appeared a very small eevee. She raised an eyebrow curiously, it didn't look like a baby but it was much too small for an adult, odd. All of that aside he was still an eevee and she still had to work hard to restrain the urge to run over and smother him with hugs. At least this time Amaryllis would have an advantage.
Amaryllis looked at the other trainer when he spoke "Rai, raichu raii." Which was her way of saying that these things cannot be helped. As the little eevee appeared Amaryllis grinned, now she really had an advantage, well except for that whole almost out of HP thing, but maybe she could redeem herself. When the little creature spoke she tilted her head to the side what was with his accent? "I'm Amaryllis." she said, not offering up any more information than requested.

Pastel nodded vigorously, {'At's a nice name. I' souns neat. Do you like-}
"Pastel, this is a battle. I told you before we came, not to chat too much during the battle.. please... You can talk all you like after it is over." It was impossible for Lumin to stay mad at his little friend. He was such a friendly little Pokemon, and he didn't mean anything by it, "Use Dig, please."
Pastel nodded, a battle.. right... Oh crap... He didn't much care for fighting, it was usually painful, and, being accident prone, he usually had his dose of pain. He spotted a large crack in the road, created by one of Impasto's Earthquakes. He headed for it, and dove into the ground, digging furiously. He would try to come back up under Amaryllis, but he wasn't very good at timing these kinds of things...

Raina had been hoping that she and Amaryllis could pull this one out of the gutter that it was headed down but it didn't look that way as the little Eevee dissapeared underground and soon came up right beneath Amaryllis who had been unable to avoid him thanks to the battlefields various smells and sounds bombarding her senses.
Amaryllis had been running in circles trying to locate the eevee but she wasn't having any luck until he popped up right beneath her and sent her sailing across the battlefield. Darkness clouded her vision but she blinked it away and rose to her paws slowly before turning to face her opponent. "Good battle but I'm afraid I'm spent. Farewell." were the last words she muttered before her eyes slid closed and she collapsed onto the ground.
Raina sighed and grasped the ball clipped to her belt that was empty before pressing the white button in the center to enlarge it before the red beam returned Amaryllis to it's safe confines. "Good job girl, you did better than I expected." was all the young woman said before clipping the ball to her belt and looking up at the other trainer. "Nice battle, let's do it again sometime." she waved and then turned, hurrying out of the foul smelling stadium and headed straight for the nearest pokecenter.

Pastel burst out of the ground, almost as surprised as his target that he had made contact. His eyes went wide as she fell, she turned to Lumin, his gaze inquiring as to her condition.
Lumin smiled, it was his first victory. He hoisted the Pokeball containing Impasto. He had earned forgiveness for his absent mindedness. He had practically won it himself, whether that be dumb luck, or the snake's skill, was yet to be seen. Either way, Impasto was ungrounded. He looked at Pastel, "Don't worry, she'll be fine in a bit. Let's go." Pastel jumped up and landed on Lumin's shoulder as he walked out.
