"Exactly. I'm glad to hear that." He chuckled and nodded. "Yes. I think it'd seem funny if I were to put your jewelry someplace without input from you. It's yours and you ought to pick its space." Deu folded his arms on the table top and watched her select her preferred box and hiding place. "And there it shall stay until you want it." Looking to her iPod then to the Siberian. "Sure. I've seen those around the Aquarium sometimes, when I hang around during business hours. Let's see." He rose and moved to crouch down in front of a few low shelves. "I have a computer somewhere that had been left here. There were a few accessories so we may well have it working by tonight. I modified it a little to suit my tastes, but it works fine. Ahh!" Deu found the laptop and tucked it under his arm. The tom rose and moved back to his table. "I'm sorry. Would you like a stool to sit next to me or something, or would you prefer to stay sitting there? I don't mind, but you might have a better view if we're looking from the same angle."

Yami got excited about the idea of sitting next to him and she nodded as she pushed a stool next to his side. "What does a computer do? I've never seen them up close so i'm not sure what it does." she said as she sat next to him and smiled up at him. She swung her legs happily as she leaned on the desk and watched. "How does it work to make the iPod work?" She asked as she watched carefully as she swished her fluffy tail about and watched with increasing interest. She was super happy to be here with Deu and was wondering why she was exactly so happy...She would figure it out later she supposed.

He angled the computer slightly towards her as he opened it up and turned it on. The computer had been left in the planetarium lost and found for longer than the limit of time that the planetarium normally aloud and no one had come to claim it, so Deu took it away in the night to provide it a home. He spent a good week or so studying and modifying it to his heart's content. On and off since getting the computer, he'd fiddle around with a few of the extra components that came with the bag. There was something that he knew to be a headset, a charger of some sort, a three prong plug/cord, and a flash drive. "It can do many things. I sometimes use it to store notes, but I find I still prefer handwriting them on paper. I saw the human plug in a slender little cord from their iPod to the computer and from what I could see, something happened that appeared to be positive. We can give it a shot." He leaned over and gathered up a couple of cords from on top of a black and dark gray bag. One was slim and had two plugs, one on either end, and the other was black and looked a bit different. "The computer can show us if your iPod is in need of getting recharged or if some file got corrupted."

Yami smiled happily as she watched as he told her about the computer. "Wow that sounds neat! Thats amazing that humans make something like this. If we find another one can we take it apart so i can see the inside of it? I think this is all nifty and i never thought of opening things and looking inside them before." she said as she watched him do it all and find the cords he needed for her new toy. "Do you have any music in there that we can put on it? Some of the song in it right now i don't like. I cant think to any of it or relax to any of it. I need some dance stuff and some classical to mellow out too." she said with a smile as she looked at him excitedly. She liked this, it was going to be fun now that she had a friend to hang out with. And he was cute to boot! Why did i just think that? Hes not going to like someone as young as i am. Hes my friend and thats good. She said to her self as she watched him work on her iPod.

"Sure. I don't see why not. We can take it apart so you can learn about its inner workings and, if you'd like, we can put it back together and customize it to your tastes when we get it working again. It may take some digging around the city, but I'm sure we can find another, especially with those good eyes of yours." Deucalion nodded with a smile. Turning the computer on and opening up his music program, he looked to her with a bit of a boyish grin. "I do. I have about seven hundred and fifty songs. I just sort of pick them up as I go. Sometimes it helps to work with music, I find. I have a little bit of practically everything. I tend to not limit myself when it comes to music. I do have some dance and a really good selection of classical music. Once we get everything hooked up we can sync your iPod to my computer and you can go through and see if there is anything that catches your fancy. How's that sound?" He plugged one end of the cord into his computer and offered Yami the free end. "Give it a go."

Yami smiled and nodded, all but bouncing in her chair as she took her iPod and plugged it in. She smiled as she watched him. "So how does it work? How to you move it and what does it do?" She asked as she leaned onto the desk to look at it closer and study what he did and how he used it. She smiled happily as she watched and looked at him. She swished her tail excitedly and looked at all the icons on the screen and the little arrow that moved. She poked the screen and tried to touch the arrow, and smiled a little at herself. "What that do? And that? And whats that say? How does the music come on, and how loud is it? How did you get music on it and how can we get more if i want more music?" she asked as more and more questions popped into her head and she spouted them all off, pointing at all the icons on the screen and asking what they were and what they did for the computer.

"Well, the computer reads the devices that are plugged into it and opens up a window with the options that are available for those devices. For instance," Deu began as the small pop-up for the iPod appeared in the center of the screen. Using the touch pad in the center below the keyboard, Deucalion clicked on the option to have her iPod connected to the computer and have it start charging. "With it connected, we can delete the songs you don't like and add songs I have, or we can go find songs on the Web." He chuckled when she poked the mouse's cursor. "That is the cursor. It indicates where you're moving your mouse or touch pad, in this case, in relation to the screen. With it, you can click on links or files that you want to open up and look at, like so." He clicked on an iTunes link and it opened up. Apparently the tom had a bit of a sense of humor because he named his iTunes library iDeu. "To open a music file, just double click on it and it shall start playing." He clicked on one song and grinned. "The volume can be adjusted with these two buttons over the keyboard." He showed her by turning the music down then up again." Each question that Yami posed of him, he answered right back, not seeming to mind all the questions. If anything, he seemed to be enjoying himself quite a bit, his tail swishing contently behind him in a slow, easy motion highlighted this. "Am I going too fast?"

Yami smiled and listened to him. Watching the mouse move, still wanting to catch it. She watched his fingers move it on the touch pad and reached over and touched it herself. She smiled and asked a few more questions. "I like what this thing does then! I like that song too! Do you have more stuff thats faster and more...beaty? With lots of techno?" Her owner had listened to alot of techno when she painted...before she gave Yami to her brother and he tried to set her on fire. She looked at the computer and then at her iPod to see what it was doing. "Can i try moving it more? How do you find songs?" she asked scooting closer to look at the computer better.

"I have some, but we can always get more online." Deu angled the computer towards Yami with a bit of a grin. "Care to start learning now? I think one can never get a feel for something until they try it themselves. In order to find songs you need to open up an internet browser, Firefox or Internet Explorer, those sorts of things. Then go to a search engine and enter the song you'd like to find, include MP3 download in your search. Well, it's not entirely necessary but it makes things a bit easier than hunting though the various pages that you'll find. Some offer MP3 download, but not all. Don't worry about breaking it or anything. I keep it well protected against viruses and other such nasties. Just don't juggle it about and this will last me a good while. If you have any questions or get stuck on something, let me know and I'll show you how to get out of it."

Yami smiled and nodded as she listened to him. She used her hand on the pad and moved the little arrow around. She giggled and smiled up at him. "This is neat! I like it!" she said zooming the arrow around the screen with a laugh. She looked for the icons that said the things Deu told her to look for and smiled as she clicked on the thing that said 'Firefox' and it opened another window. "Ohhh that was neat!" She said excitedly as she laughed again and looked at the window. She read everything that came up, interested in what the humans had all over the place. Reading all the info that had nothing to do with her all over the page she smiled and grew kind of quiet as she got absorbed into the information on it.

Deu sidled a little closer so he could better monitor if any pop-ups cropped up. He was cautious with his system. He knew enough to keep an eye for suspicious pages or emails, to regularly scan for trojan viruses and hidden bugs. Yami was taking to everything so quickly. It was impressive. He grinned. "Want a tour of a few of my pieces? Oh! I can show you that mouse I was talking about on the way here. Or you can have free run and just ask about whatever strikes your fancy."

Yami smiled at him as she looked at a few more things then looked up at him and nodded. "Yes Mouse! That sounds fun! I cant eat it though right?" She said with a smile. She looked at the computer. "We can look at your stuff! I want to see what your working out! It sounds like alot of fun and i want to see what you do!" She said excitedly. She smiled on the inside when she saw how much closer he was to her and turned back to the computer, fighting back a blush as she swayed her tail in excitement.

Deucalion chuckled and shook his head, a few stray curls falling free from his hair tie. "Nope. No eating the mouse. At least it isn't recommended." He nodded and rose from his seat. "Alright. I shall show you what I have. I'm not working on anything major right now, mostly tweaking with past projects or tinkering with the occasional found object sculpture. I have a shelf or two of those. Nothing too big." The tom moved to where he kept his first ever project, his mouse. He turned and offered it to Yami so she could look it over. The surface looked rough-hewn, but it was most definitely in a mouse-like shape. The metal had a matte finish with a few dings and scratches. A small black braid of rope made up its tail.
"I have a bin of blueprints that shows all I've done. Not all of my works stay in the shop. Some end up around the territory or some even end up around the city. I have known some end up taken or misplaced, but I do try and keep tabs on them if they around still in the area. Most are stationary, but a few, like the mouse there, are capable of moving around without anyone directly touching them. One or two can even fly...Or at least glide really well." Deu chuckled and brushed a hand back to swat away the loose curl that was tickling his neck.

Yami smiled and bounced around in the chair. "Oh that sounds fun! I wanna learn how to make things and make them with you! I'd like to make things! What do you use to make things? How do you make them and what are they made of? Is it pretty hard to do?" She asked excitedly. She leaned onto the computer table and looked at the laptop closer and frowned. "Do you use this at all to help with making things? Does it have ideas on it and stuff?" she asked with a smile as she looked up at him and smiled her tail swishing happily as she purred. She turned and sat on the table and picked up the mouse and looked it over closer.

"It is fun." Deucalion laughed and gave a bit of a sigh, shaking his head. "Well, I don't see any reason for you not to learn. I can definitely teach you." He grinned at all of her questions before holding his hands up in front of himself. "These are your most important tools. There are an assortment of other things that I use to make up the base components for what I make, mostly things I find and re-purpose them. I've used clocks, radios, media players like DVD or VHS players, computers, scrap metal, and just about whatever I can get my weaselly little paws on." He lowered his hands, using one to scratch his chest before continuing on. "There are a few techniques I use, some of which can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing, but that's what I'll be here for. Welding, for one, but only for the larger pieces. The difficulty depends on what you're doing and what the project is, so it varies. It gets easier as you go along." Shifting his gaze from Yami to his laptop, he nodded. "Yes. I occasionally write out my rough ideas in it or bits of inspiration. I also sometimes use it for research."
Deu gave a long thoughtful humming sound, still absently scratching his chest. "Say, Yami, if I were to take you under my wing and show you the ropes of what I do here, how would you feel about living here as well? To save the commute and what not."
