The coffee was all gone. Charys Murphy had gone boneless in the booth, one elbow on the windowsill, apparently more interested in looking out at the snow-flurried Destiny City night than she was in paying attention to everything else going on. The team-building exercise. She was fiddling with her cellphone, pressing its buttons but not actually texting. But her brown eyes were scanning over the table, to Rea's pale, unadorned fingernails and then back to the window.
Her face betrayed nothing. She'd been a senshi longer than the rest of them; long enough to become a super senshi, though only Rea, Ume and Eve were really privy to that. Elizabeth was new enough to probably not even understand what that quite meant. And who the hell knew about the newcomer.
She let out a long, continuous noise, kind of like an ehhhhhhh. "What would this," she said, and stopped: stopped so long that they had assumed she was going to end it there, not say anything else. But then, before anybody else could interrupt: "... ... ... entail."

Beth looked over at the bag in wonder- if anything she had not expected to hear something like this. She had not even thought of this before- a team? a real- fullblown team? A few others had pledged their allegiance to the team- or at least agree'd already- without hearing the terms. Beth, of course, would agree to it no matter what. She was just being polite to let Chloe answer the questions.
The feline flicked her tail amusingly- "While i appreciate your enthusiasm," She eyes Ume, Rea, Eve, and Beth. "Charys is right- you have the right to know what all this " She flicked a paw in the air "Entails."
Putting the paw back down- she didn't bother to leave them waiting. " Basically- a senshi team is a gathering of senshi with one common purpose- our purpose for this being taking down the negaverse and its agents. Its a formal gathering of sorts, we do not always have to be together to get things done but we will be united under the same 'flag' you could say. In other words, you can still patrol by yourself, or with other senshi not even inside the group, but you have a group of other senshi to fall back on if you need them, and if we need you then you should be able to be called upon. A group you can trust to watch your back and not be the one chewing on it."
"I would like to still have some organization within this group if possible, organizing some patrols here and there and possibly even scheduling a group meeting place. Same time, same place."
...." Another goal," She added- "Would be to take back what we have lost. In this case- two senshi we have lost. "

"Smells like team spirit" Ume asked quietly teasing.
"Honestly... I -hope- we all know what team means, working together for a common goal. That's... basic english? That's gym class that's... anything your parents ever made you do with other kids?"
She held up her hands in a gesture of surrender.
"I think the biggest 'team' question would be...who leads?" She asked softly but paused and added curiously.
"Lost... though. You said lost but that we could 'save' them?... that means they aren't 'dead' but they were taken from us? Prisoners?"
She paused again, her eyes widened and she glanced at Charys wordless... no -way-... not after the talk about had they played that song yet...

The strawberry-blonde girl's expression wavered just slightly at the word 'enthusiasm,' just a hint of skepticism painting her expression, her eyebrows lifting just slightly. Clearly, she wouldn't have used that word, but it was personal preference. This idea, while certainly a good and necessary one, was not something that she saw herself being very good at. There were a good many who could attest to her personality -- she was not the most buddy-buddy person in the world. There had been a reason she had stuck it solo for so long. Then again...
She didn't look over at Eve. Another wave of guilt threatened to drown her, and she took a slow, deep breath, steeling herself, eyes firmly on the 'cat in the bag.' So to speak. That didn't mean she was completely focused. Her mind was on other things, a million miles away. Resting her chin on her palm, she allowed the others to chat, disregarding the talk of the leader completely.
Her attention was immediately drawn back in, however, at the talk of the 'lost.' She hadn't miss that look.
As soon as Ume's eyes flickered in Charys' direction, Rea's blue-green ones were on the bluenette, unevasive and politely devoid of judgement or otherwise, but it was obvious the wheels in her head were turning. She wasn't always the most polite of people -- lord knew she tended to be kind of a cold-hearted b***h to people she deemed incompetent -- but to Charys she was willing. Her girlish crush was definitely a factor in this, but despite the blue-haired girl's laid back personality and nonchalant view on what seemed to be everything, Rea DID respect her. She was her better, and had proved it enough to warrant her not bombarding the girl with questions she probably didn't want to answer.
Her eyes didn't leave her for quite a few minutes, however.

Charys had laughed for around two whole minutes at smells like team spirit. It was a funny joke. She laughed. Then she abruptly stopped, because talk was getting serious and nobody had still hammered out what exactly this required in terms of work. No roster. No timeshare. Chloe hinted at organized patrols. That sounded a little bit like hell. Charys was pretty sure she could come up with a range of influenzas or outright excuses. Sometimes you really did have to wash your hair one strand at a time.
"I'll tell you who's going to be leader," she said comfortably, breaking into the tense silence that the others had dropped into. Her hand splayed out towards Rea Marshall. "Tahdahhh." The fingers dropped together in the universal sign for stop! Hammer time! when Rea opened her mouth, ostensibly to protest: "I'll tell you why. Eve-O, Ume? You two are way too nice. Twenty-four-hour cat channel nice. Let's see."
Her fingers drunkenly clicked towards Delphine. "Goth chick, I got your number, you're the bad a** lone wolf. It's okay, I read the next chapter, you just want love. Eenie-meenie-miney-mo. Holy s**t, just about referenced something racist there. Anyway, I'm allowed to be a douche, I've been doing this the longest. Liz, met you once. You have the cat, but you're also like... fresh out the bag, you still have your price tag on."
The fingers swung back towards Rea like a compass. "You've been doing this a while. You can be nasty. A leader always kind of has to be a b***h about it."
The hand dropped. "And I will... sit back while you guys ride on this dope-a** Disney train. Like Obi-Wan."

Ume laughed and nodded a little, amused by Charys, it was like her attitude lit up the whole room despite the serious nature of events "And your...C3PO?" She teased, translating our moods and manners?
"I'm ok with that..." She added on a more serious note..."I mean I don't -know- you very well but if it doesn't work out, then we can talk again right? Or... you know... do something awful like break up as a team, who's in?" She asked laying her hand in the middle of the table.

Rea's stare immediately turned blank and slightly accusing, blue-green eyes focused unblinkingly on the bluenette, clearly about to protest. Charys must have known, because not seconds after she had opened her mouth to decline (fervently and unyieldingly) that hand was up, and Rea's mouth was closed tight, her expression turning into one of a comical sulk. Folding her arms across her chest, she leaned back against the squeaky rubber backing of the chair, watching that hand swing around to each member of their team and listening to the points made.
She was not leader material. No one would follow her, not like they would follow charismatic Charys or sweet as honey Eve. Hell, she was positive that Eve could probably charm Cerberus, guardian of HELL into being a sweet and playful puppy. Rea was about as easy to get along with as a cactus, and as social as a block of ice.
"You HAVE been doing this the longest," Rea finally piped up, looking skeptical and ready to retort, "Wouldn't it make sense for you to be the leader?"
She couldn't imagine anyone would go ALONG with this. So when Ume agreed, Rea had the most hilarious look of shock on her face. She couldn't be serious...

"I think youd be an amazing leader, Rea!" Beth stared over at Pegasus, and remembered back to when they met. How strong she had been when Lyra was so weak- Rea just took it all with a grain of salt. She was clearly the leader type- as Charys pointed out.
Chloe just sat there with her tail flickering irritatedly. She let the team talk this out. Afterall, her job really was jsut to sit there and let them figure out there own hierarchy.. right?
Wrong!
" Charys would be the logical choice if we go by power, and experience." She said, pushing herself into the current conversation right after Rea stopped speaking. Charys had been around the block more, and to the naked eye she would seem to be the right choice. She let those words sink in... and let them linger around.
Her eyes flicked to Rea.
"But."
Ah, hell.
"Rea, your the answer to this puzzle, as much as you might not like it. While Charys seems to be the right choice, she would make a sucky leader." Chloe looked back at Charys and gave a slight bow, as if to say 'yeah sorry i know hearing the truth sucks sometimes'.
"You out of all of us would make the best leader. Your strong, dont deny that fact. Strength isnt just measured in fighting experience and power.

"Everyone who's a super senshi and a sucky leader, say aye," said the single super senshi. "Aye. Okay, it's done. Now can we break this up? If I don't have Blair Witch on my TiVo I'm going to have to watch all nineteen parts of it on YouTube, and you have no idea how annoying that is, seriously."
Oh God. It seemed to be cut and dried.

Rea tensed, gritting her teeth together and practiced slow, patient breathing as she stared at Chloe. It was an intense stare, neither angry nor frustrated nor upset, just extremely intense, as if she were trying to portray something that could only be expressed telepathically. The muscles in her jaw were working soundlessly, only further expressing her discontent. She had only met one guardian cat before this, but it had been her distinct impression that whatever the cat says, goes. This had never disturbed her before, but at that moment, staring into the face of the Siamese, she found, much to her intense dislike, there was a first time for everything.
"I will try to live up to everyone's expectations."
The strawberry blonde girl stood up at this, slowly, palms pressed firmly against the table, and slid out of the booth smoothly, despite the few people who were on the end and blocking her way. She was multi-talented, what could she say. It only took a few long strides for her to make it to the door and, pushing it open with a slightly off-sounding jingle of the bell above, ignoring the blustery wind that met her.
