That is how I was. Near the end of last year is when I actually got into them.

So you're a more recent fan?

I don't remember exactly when I first heard The Doors it was so long ago and I was a kid. My dad has always been really into music, was in a band and everything and The Doors were one of his favorites so it was inevitable that he'd introduce me to it; along with many other bands like Creedence Clearwater Revival, The beatles, the infamous Jimi Hendrix and many others. 3nodding

A friend of mine told me to check them out before music was available in the internet. So I had to buy their The Doors album. And to tell the truth I like lengthy songs like The End and Light my Fire from The Doors and love at first sight does exist.
By the way, ever heard of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly? Since you all like the Doors I bet you will like this song, check it out. It's the longest good song I have ever ran into.

The longest GOOD song you've ever ran into, huh? How long is the song?

My Mom told me that I might like Iron Butterfly. I listened to a few of their songs, but they didn't really appeal to me. I either don't like their music or listened to the wrong ones. That's an interesting title for a song. I'll have to check it out.
You been listening to the wrong songs. In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida is 17 minutes long (only 8 lines song) and it originally meant In the Garden of Eden but one of the members slurred it while he was high or drunk as In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida and so it became In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. It has the best drum solo ever.
And also Possession is a great song, one of the best I've heard of Acid Rock. Ironically enough, it's only 2 minutes and a half but it's lyrics mean a thousand words, although there are only 5 lines of lyrics.
A must check the songs I underlined!

Alright, I'll check them when I get on later. I can't stay on very long right now, I'm about to leave. The only songs I know that are nearly 17 minutes long are "Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd (boringggg song) and that one song by AFI that slips my mind.
I actually like Freebird quite a lot, it's only 9 minutes. Lynyrd Skynyrd are one of my many favorite bands. And I love long songs like The End by The Doors and Since I've been loving you by Led Zeppelin. The only songs I really enjoy are the long ones.

since you like long songs you must like pink floyd. i just love their long instrumental parts of their songs.
