"Im just as surprised as you are." Then looking over realizing how calm Lerena looked, "Well, maybe more." He kicks the door open, and drew a hand of cards, "Well if this is anything like a duel... we should be able to summon our own creatures." Wondering if this world played by the same rules as the game, he played his sacred pheonix of nephyths card but nothing appeared. "Alright, so this world plays by the game of duel monsters." Drawing a card. "Alright well I'm not sure how we are going to get out of this, but might as well defend ourselves." Draws a card "Alright, come on out! Rocket Warrior!" A Tiny man with rocket parts for his body appears. "Alright no problem." As he said that the red eyes appeared right in the doorway and attacked Rocket Warrior. "Grrr..." The blast sent Hikari flying backward into the shop, he bared his teeth as he was trying to hold back the pain. Just then his lifepoint meter dropped 900 points to 3100. "I feel....Like my energy was just drained... We need to be more careful... Im going to sit down for a second." He said breathing somewhat heavily.

"You mean you do. In situations like this, you're supposed to be careful. Haven't you ever watched a horror movie?" she asked. "In the face of battle, the enemy doesn't give you rest. Rest while you can. I'm going to borrow a pack of cards. I'll pay for them later." she remarked. She got five booster packs and handed Hikari five as well. "We may need these. I tried getting a reasonable amount that we'll be able to pay for when this is all over. Also, we need to find out who is doing this and stop them. The only way we'll be able to do that is to get a powerful monster out on the field." she explained. Lerena drew five cards and then entered her draw phase. "This is a dark game. We'll pay with our lives if we're not careful." explained Lerena. "Lucky for you, you only lost 900 life points." This was not a normal game and she wasn't normal when something like this occurred. She was like a warrior now and she would die honorably if she had to. Death wasn't going to come to her though. She'd make sure of that with HIkari's help.

"Oh.. well thanks." He said with a smile, but handed them back. "I don't know about you, but my deck serves me well, Its like a part of me." Looks down at the life point counter in a daze. "I would not expect you to understand." Looks up, seeming more confident, even with the strength drained. "Now... where were we." Drawing another card without looking at it, and places it face down on the field in the spell/trap card zone. "If this world is based on the rules of the card game, then spells and traps should work." He said confidently.
(btw for future notice, I have several quick play magics that heal in case you would like to make that interesting twist)

Lerena nodded. "My deck is important to me too actually. Don't just assume things." she answered. "What do you suggest we do now?" Lerena asked. She put up the other five booster packs and put the others in the card-holder around her thigh. "Why did you put a card face down that you didn't look at?" she asked him. She looked at her hand and put down a trap card. Normally the game of Duel Monsters said that a person had to look at their card before putting it face down. Apparently Hikari had a good idea on what the card was already. She wanted to understand certain bonds, but she wasn't good at that. She didn't know which cards she drew without looking at them.

"Why..." Hikari Smiled "Its quite simple.... I simply trust my deck, that it will pull through for me." Drawing another card without looking, Hikari played a magic card. "I now play the magic card of Monster Reborn, to reborn to the field rocket warrior." The previous monster reappeared to the field. Walking out of the door, this time he was ready. The same red eyes black dragon appeared. It was about to attack when an invisible card face down became apparent. "I know activate.. Sakuretsu Armor!" Hikari yelled out. The red eyes disolved into a bunch of bones and then fell to the floor, it slowly was absorbed into the group. "Hmm, Well Sakuretsu Armor destroys any attacking monster, but I didn't see the bone thing coming... I have heard of such a game where the monsters are real...." He grew silent.

Lerena nodded. "So have I. Shadow games, right? Nice move. You killed it. Now we may advance." she said. She opened the door and made her way over to the staircase. "Amazoness Paladin, come forth!" she said. She waited until Hikari joined her at the stairs to go any further. She didn't want to admit it, but going alone might be suicide. It was obvious he was right there, yet separation of any kind might be what the enemy wants. Lerena thought about the entire thing they were going through. Never in her life did she believe this would be one of her battles. Even though she had no reason to be afraid now, she wondered if she would truly know fear during this game.

Hikari caught up with Lerena not too long after. "Well I'm not sure how we are going to get out of here.." He grew quiet, then with a sudden idea, broke the silence. "Well, I think we should take things to the sky, Don't you think?" He then silently drew another card. "Ah perfect, I think its time, Rocket Warrior to say our goodbyes until next time...." He smiled, "Alright, now i sacrifice Rocket Warrior to summon to the field, Prime Material Dragon!" As the warrior dissapeared, a new dragon took its place, its 6 wings would be very convinient to fly, even with passengers on its back. "I take it, that if monsters are real in the shadow realm... Maybe we can associate with them as well, So we can fly on my Prime Material Dragons back." He jumped off the ledge of the roof, and Landed safely on the back of his dragon, he leaned over with his arm outstretched. "Come on Lerena! I gotcha..." He was confident that his new found dragon would protect both of them.
(In case one doesn't know, Prime Material Dragons special ability in a nutshell: Any effect damage given becomes recovery to lifepoints, and if an effect is to destroy a monster on the field, discard one card to negate and destroy the creature with that effect.)

Lerena was nervous. "What?! I'm scared of heights!" she said. Amazoness Paladin rested her sword on her shoulder and just stared at Lerena strangely. "Oh, fine." she said. "[b}Return, Amazoness Paladin!" When Amazoness Paladin disappeared, she took Hikari's hand and got on the dragon behind him. She wrapped her arms around his waist out of fear. It was logical for them to take things to the sky, but that didn't mean she couldn't be afraid. Heights were one of her biggest weaknesses; Lerena didn't have much experience in facing her fear of heights outside the occasional dream. "Alright then, let's go somewhere safe." Lerena said. She trusted in Hikari's dragon to protect the two of them from anything dangerous.

"Don't worry.." Hikari said as he felt Lerena shake slightly as she held on. It actually made him feel warm inside. Someone for once was counting on him. He could not let her down. "Prime Material, hold on my command.." Looking around, he couldn't find any point of destination to land on, until a beam shot up into the sky. "Well we should head toward that, its the only signs of life right now." Prime Materials weight shifted as it flew off toward that destination. Although the distance for flight was short, it was a very dangerous ride. 3 shadows jumped up in front of them. Another flash of light from the beam revealed them to be man eater bugs. "Oh no you don't! I now activate Prime Materials special ability. I'll discard 3 cards from my hand to negate your abilities." The 3 foes disintegrated as Hikari's dragon fired its abilities attack. "This game keeps getting more dangerous as we go on. Try to keep look out, on how to get out of this place."

Lerena balanced herself and forced herself to look at her hand for some form of defense. None of her monsters could take themselves to the skies. Instead, she just wrapped her arms around his waist again and looked around for an exit. "It is getting dangerous." she remarked. "I wish we could meet another duelist or something." she said. "We need someone who is experienced in surviving the shadow realm. Can you think of anyone?" Lerena asked. None of her family members knew much about the shadow realm. All they knew was that it existed and it was very dangerous. They were probably worried about her right now. She couldn't let that bother her. Right now, she needed to find an exit. "Try finding an apartment building." she suggested.

"hmmm, well.." Hikari smiled at the irony, "An apartment building is right next to where the blast came from, so we will continue that way." He looked at his hand. Only 2 cards left. He thought out his strategies. He could set down one of his cards, but then he would only have one more defense incase they were attacked again. But he would have to take that chance, for if somehow his prime material was destroyed, he would be defenseless. "I'll set one more card face down, and set a monster in face down defense position." He now just hoped that, he could last another turn in this world. He thought for a moment while hanging there waiting to either something happen, or them to land. "I'm the only one other than my opponent who ever been in a shadow game that I know of." He sighed. That friendly duel turned into losing a friend. It then occurred to Hikari. "Maybe... its possible.." He grew silent again. For it might just be possible that his friend, could be in this world. It also might just be possible, that he was the cause of the blast. His hopes raised.

Lerena paused for a moment before speaking. "You seem to be lost in thought. I can't help you unless I know the full details. What's on your mind?" she asked. As much as she wanted to help out right now, her monsters were land creatures. Plus, it seemed like Hikari already had a defense shield up. She only hoped it worked. Would they be able to beat the menace that started all this? This may be interesting, but it was forcing her to take to the skies. Lerena was nothing but a starter duelist who found dueling to be nothing but a chore in this dark game.

(thats alright, wasn't much to say while on my prime material, just wondering what u would come up with)
"Not much.. just one of my closest friends and I was forced into a shadow game.." He grew silent. A curious look from Lerena told him that more explaination would be needed. "You should know that whoever loses, gets sent to the shadow realm... Well unfortunatly I won that duel..." His breathing got heavier. "I should of been the one to go to the shadow realm... He was my only friend at that time." Now looking back at Lerena. "Lerena, I think that this may of been caused by me.. When we get out of here.. I would understand if you don't want to hang anymore." As the Prime Material Landed. Hikari pressed a button on his duel disk. He spoke slowly, and quieter. "I..now flip, Morphing Jar... In order to discard my remaining hand..." Looking down at his palms.. at the lack of a hand of cards. "Then...Draw a new hand of five cards." Drawing his cards, he jumped off Prime Material Dragon, then helped Lerena off. Thought to himself ' I am probably the reason, I was the reason the last time.. Lerena is in danger because of me, and now its my part to play to make sure she gets home safe' He thought this while clasping a golden necklace that was hidden beneath his shirt that shaped a dragon holding on to a single orb, the only part that wasn't golden.

Lerena thought about her past as she got off Prime Material Dragon. He started all this? Did this situation just become more complex? Hikari was very nice, much nicer than her. She closed her eyes and recalled all the sins she committed. Since Renoko was no longer around, her heart had somewhat purified. Renoko had become more hardworking and dedicated while she became less mean and cruel. There was no way she would abandon in her first friend. How was she supposed to help? Lerena wasn't good at battles like this. She bit her lip. "Come forth, Amazoness Tiger!" she called. The beast appeared in front of her and let out a terrifying growl to signify that it was prepared to protect its master. Four cards remained in her hand for use in the future. Now that they were back on ground, she had a bigger defense. Even though she couldn't duel very well, she would not give up in the face of battle. She had the heart of a warrior. Her deck would not fail her, because she had a powerful ally to help her. If Hikari truly did start all this, he was the key to this situation's end. "How would this situation have been caused by you?" Lerena asked. "Why would I judge you for something like this? You've been nothing but kind to me." she added.
