"How's the guard doing?" the other inquired, trying to pat Mareike's back again to relax her. Seemed Adhara was a very touchy subject and while she did wonder what on earth happened to make Mare say those things, it wasn't any of her business and she honestly felt it was better to leave it be.

"Guard is good" Mareike murmured calming down again at the switch of subject. " My groups been having a few scuffles lately with invaders but otherwise everything runs smoothly." The girl's feathers fluffed up happily at that. "We seem to be holding our territory well for the most part."

"That's good." Ebby agreed, "Just don't go turning into a gang or anything. Sinny's been following this one news report on a gang war that's been tearing up half of this one city - it's crazy." she commented, before standing up and nodding.
"okay, you can sit up again. Time to find you an outfit."

"Things should never get so bad they make the news" Mareike muttered before sitting up and stretching. Okay yes this felt much better than when she'd shown up here. " What sort of outfit were you thinking?" She and Ebony tended to have very differing ideas about what constituted fashion though she did trust the other girl for the most part.

"Mm...well I've never seen you in a dress before. Or anything silky. Would you like to try that for the night?" she suggested, standing up and opening her rather large walk-in closet.
"I've got all sorts of things if you're uncomfortable trying some outfits."

" It won't kill me to wear a dress if you have anything you think would fit me." They did have rather different frames after all.

"I think I might." Ebby assured her, "I had a few dresses I couldn't wear or thought might look nice on you so I nabbed them at the time. You know what they say - a bargain is something you don't need at a price you can't resist." she teased, going through her closet to see if she could find the items in question.
She returned shortly with a black chinese style dress with gold detailing. "what do you think of this?"

"It looks.. elegant, but strong I like it." Mareike definitely approved of the choice though her mind was half dwelling over the fact that Ebby had bought things with her in mind. It was oddly pleasing.

The teen grinned, undoing the top and helping the other girl put it on right. Getting dressed was something Mare could obviously do on her own, but something softer and silkier would probably be hard for her since she wasn't experienced with it and had all sorts of parts that could damage it or be damaged. From her horns to her wings, to her third eye, it all needed to be taken into account when she was put together.
Ebby smiled, taking the teen to the mirror to let her see how she looked. "You look awesome, Mare." she said with a smile. "how about we leave it partly undone so you can sit down and I can do your hair and makeup without too much stiffness, ne?"
