I think its a bad idea. I used to do it and cut myself bad several times. Accidents happen so its something you shouldnt risk playing around with.

It's terrible. If you are ever tempted to do it...
Never do. It's not like any other addiction you'll ever try. Drugs cost too much and kill brain cells. Drinking slowly kills your enternal organs and other people. Cutting...to me one of the best feelings. But the worst at the same time.
I've been cutting for 3 years..and i haven't for over 2 months which is really good for me. I have had a LOT of problems in my life the past three years..but i notice it's just made me stronger. (It also made my cutting a lot more severe.) It got to the point that this last March i had to go to the ER while on a church retreat because one of my cuts wouldn't stop bleeding. It was 34 degrees out and it has been bleeding for over an hour. My arm has had numerous reactions to complete strangers.
"D*** GURL!!! It looks like freddy cruger did a NUMBER on your arm!!"
That was in 8th grade when i only used scissors and erasers.
"OMG, what happened to your arm?!?" *comeplete stranger helping me up*
"how did you get those?" An 8 year old...those are the hardest to answer -_-.

I've personally never mutilated myself, but I have a friend who cuts herself (she's not emo - thinks that cutting yourself to relieve the pain is just stupid) because she likes to see blood. It gives her a rush.

I think cutting is a sin. It's just another one of those tempting escape doors Satan has given us. If you have cut, then you probably have some scars. That might make you feel like the thing you did can never go away. but it's not true. There really is only one way to stop cutting. The only way that i tried that worked was to pray about it. At first it might not seem like it's working but if you continue to do it God will see your faith and he will help you. It worked for me.

This is one thing that gets me really pissed.
Why do people associate cutting and suicide and other s**t like that with the gothic subculture. I have never done it, not even thought about it.
Suicide, and cutting, is immature, and pathetic.

The person who made this topic was simply wondering what our opinions were on the subject of self mutilation. Obviously you feel that it is stupid. I cannot speak for anyone else, but you have not offended me.

i used to have a problem with cutting myself and one time while sitting in the empty bath tub in a dase (very close to being stoned off your feet not that i have ever been stoned) i came to the conclusion that its like letting your soul escape through those slits...i could go into theoretical 'science' that involves the soul thing but...you know...just my own beliefs...

My cats cut for me...they hate me but I pick them up anway... and I have the scars to prove it. xd
But seriously, it's not cool. Pray for serious help if you cut, because you really need it.

Everyone says that it's really bad if you cut, sure yea maybe it is. But I do. I did last night. To me, it's just controlling the pain. For some people it's a thrilll rush. Basically, it's like when you're so depressed and you wanna die, but you're to chicken to kill yourself, you cut. You're so close to death, you're on the edge of a giant cliff, and you know that it'll never really happen. No one has to know becuase they cover up so easily and jackets are a great fashion accesorie... But it's also like a drug. It's so addicting, you try to stop, but it's hard. A feeling of withdrawl comes to you and you start again. No one understands why you do it. Maybe it's for attention, for the rush, or it IS a cry for help. But then eventually, you'll get to close to edge and you fall off. Don't hurt the people around you. Like the ones who care deeply for you. I have and yet I continue to, no matter the consequences.. Just stop or seek help.... BTW: CUTTING DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE EMO!!!!!

try reading the bible or listening to music and don't be alone when you feel like doing it because you arent as likely to do it wiith other people around thats just my advice.

Pettibone666 I'm a cutter and all I have to say is that I cut to releave stress. Don't tell me that I can get rid of it another way b/c I've tried all that is within my power. I get my stress from my step-dad and mom. I'm 14 so I can't move away. I only cut when the stress is unbearable. Cutting is not a way of killing ourselves. Nor is it demonic. Jesus went through alot of pain for us. Least we can do is share it. And by now yall are saying, "But God doesn't want us to hurt ourselves." Well...what about wars? It is a way that I releave stress and if I didn't, that stress and depression would of eventually resulted in suicide (just like my grandfather). They are battle scars on the temple from my war. A war against suicide and sadness. A war against Satan. PS- The sixth guy who posted put Satin instead of Satan This was moronic.
