Fledgestone smiled at the suggestion Harebell had brought up, unsure if it would work, but it was worth the try. He snorted at the scent of the compost, but agreed with her digging, finally deciding to scratch at the pile along with her, moving aside the dirt she already pulled away so that it made it easier for her to get into the pile. His digging was naturally not as efficient as the female's so he simply assisted her in the effort.
But when the thumping of Cowslips's feet alerted him, he perked up, his ears pulled back as his body started feeling the effects of tharn, battling with the instinct to freeze and dart off at the same time. Where were they to turn? The shelter Harebell had started wasn't ready enough to save the whole group. The garden? Maybe if they darted now there'd be a chance to hide away there. If it wasn't too far.

"Get in!" She hissed quietly at them, having just managed to pack the sides enough to hold a bubble of air. If she could cover the entrance of her scrape just enough to hide them from view, yet with a small hole for air to ventilate, they could do it. "Get in and press against the sides, keep it up long enough for the area to clear." She was pretty certain it'd work, much more certain than anything else in her life. The two bucks were strong, their heavy build could hold the sides firmly in place if only for a little while, though it'd be cramped. Maybe if the intruder failed to go away, they could all burst out at the same time, causing enough confusion to scamper away. There was just far too little time to bolt across unfamiliar territory, in her opinion. They could easily run into the jaws of a dog if they're not carefull.

"Harebell, I don't know! If it is elil and it can get in, we'll be trapped!" Cowslip voiced anxiously as Harebell fed them her plan. His ears flattened and his silver eyes flicked towards the area where footsteps had been heard.
He seemed almost completely frozen as his heart thudded against his chest. He couldn't seem to get himself to move!

Keeping low, she swore there had been movement coming from the log pile that was Blackthorn's objective. Ears trained forward, she waited. Good, he'd seen it too. Althea made ready to run, either to Blackthorn's aid or as far away as possible depending on the outcome of what he discovered.

"Then run, fool, run, or are your legs too tharn to budge? If it tries to get in we'll bowl it down. An ambush. Confuse it and run for the hills! It's too close or other plans, Do you see any other shelter?" She urged, desperate to at least cover the entrance before this creature got too close, she could only do that if she knew if they were or weren't coming in with her.

Sensing her marli’s apprehension Raven prepared herself to run also. If something were to give a rabbit as large as Althea reason to bolt then by gosh any smaller rabbits nearby should definitely follow suit. Her ears twitched as she watched Blackthorn’ movements, also ready to rush to his aide if need be.

Reaching the far side of the pallet he stopped again, sniffing, straining his ears, eyes roaming. What was it? Or rather was it something they could ignore in order to get past...
Suddenly the wind changed and sent a chill up his spine. That wasn't the scent of either tasty flay-rah, or something that was harmless.. The scent of mustiness was faint, but there on the breeze that wafted over him. Stiffening, ears pressing back before lifting on alert again, he started to inch back. It was too risky to go closer, and whatever was in there wasn't coming out just yet. They could afford the extra time it would take to go around.
Twisting back on himself he moved back to the edge of the pallet away from the log pile, pausing to peer around, and up, ears flicking. Once sure it was safe he raced across the open space, zigzagging his way from one patch of thick weed to a man-thing, then another patch long grass, pausing at each to sniff and listen, checking his suroundings, studying the skies, until he lept back into the shadow where Badassi, Althea and Raven waited. Taking a breath he glanced behind him. "What ever is in there is not safe.. it smells wrong. I vote for going around." Looking back at the two owsla he awaited their opinions, still scanning the area, glancing to the log pile then further along to where the giant gaping mouth emitted the sweet scent they were after.

"I trust your judgement, Blackthorn. We will go around. I doubt anything hiding in a wood pile could be of any good to rabbits."
Badassi agreed with the black buck's judgement. He had proven himself thus far, so why should he doubt him now? They would go around, if Althea agreed.

No longer frozen, Cowslip darted to one side, searching for shelter that would not betray his spotty frame, but allow him escape if he needed to run again. There wasn't much, many man things. He came to crouch behind s large, metal box of some sort. He had no idea just what it was, but he hoped it would offer at least some shelter from view. On one side, anyways.

Watching as the buck made his way back, she raised her nose to sniff him, checking scents and seeing if she could tell any better than he. But alas, it wasn't familiar.
"Agreed, no sense taking unnecessary risks."
Though, she hoped they weren't wandering into something worse.

The gray and white rabbit looked between Cowslip and the female, shaking out of anticipation. There'd be now way all of the group could use the pile, even if the males were holding up the inside, but for Harebell the setting was perfect. Finally Cowslip moved, making up his mind as he went off to hide, leaving the two aside. "Hide quickly," he spoke to Harebell, making his own decision to dart, his lean legs too frightened to stay still any longer.
As he thumped away from the sound, he looked for something he could jump into, crawl under, or anything that would hide away his silver pelt. He didn't find anything that would cover his whole body, but as he glanced to his left, he spotted a strange human-thing just as gray as he with a long tendril of an arm on one end, reaching out like a branch, and another looping back to connect with the other side. Immediately he moved to shrink himself beside the water can, pressing his ears against himself and holding in the rest of his body, contorting to hopefully become invisible behind the object.

As the rabbits passed the woodpile by, an Adder slithered out from the other side, a bulge in its body from its latest kill.
Back at the compost pile, as the two males ran and hid and the doe hid in her stinky hole... the mysterious creature came around the corner. It was a tall bird that chose to walk instead of fly. Its head was naked and covered with bumps, fleshing hanging from its face as if it was diseased. It climbed the compost pile and ruffled its feathers before spreading its tail and beginning to display.
The bird stomped and scratched at the dirt of the pile as it paraded ontop of it. Its garbled barely distinguished speech carrying through the air. "LADIES!"

Harebell was quick to acknoweldge the buck's instructions, covering up her entrance with the compost as much as posible, leaving merely a hole to allow air in. She then crept back against the hole she had made for herself, the only things she could hear was her heart in her ears, her scent blocked by the smell of soilage. Suddenly her plan seemed to crumble around her, yet she had a backup plan. She was suddenly glad to be alone, and she focused, focused as hard as she could on that hole revealing her entrance for whoever it was to come for her.
Suddenly there was a scratching, scrambling noise and she crept low, waiting for discovery, yet it never happened. Her death was yet to come. The creature was climbing on top, the scratching heard from deep within her walls. Fear struck through her as that loud, gobbling motion emitted from her intruder. Such a strange, deranged noise! She had certainly heard nothing like that before.
She refused to leave. It seemed her disguise was working, but now she'd have to wait till this potentially dangerous creature was away from the heap.

Nodding to the pair he glanced at Raven, including the youngster in the band before glancing back ove rhis hsoulder again. "Alright, if we head to that shelter there, then work our way from that." Glancing at the three he paused a moment then set off, once again moving from weed clump to long grass, drawing a haphazard line to the next spot chosen. They had to check out the huge red thing, at least enough to be able to report what was inside.
Reaching the thick tangle of brambles, he waited for the rest asfter threading his way inside, gazing out at the large gaping maw of their destination. They were closer now, and he could see large things within the shadows inside. The sweet scent of flay-rah was stronger.. but so were the other strange scents.

Raven waited for Althea to respond, since her judgement mattered the most in Raven’s opinion. Once her marli agreed to Blackthorn’s plan, she nodded, “Yes, around sounds safest. If we all stick together though we might attract more attention to ourselves…”
As Blackthorn took off Raven frowned, wondering why she bothered sharing her opinion with the group at all; but she stuck close to Althea, waiting for her to follow before taking off after him.
