I won't be helping anyone I love if I merely stand here and cry, praying for their safety.~ ¤ ◆ Leena ◆ ¤ ~ The vendor watched at the door was open, and lo and behold, a hawk and a tiger laguz were fighting. How did they have the energy to fight at such an early time of day was anyone's guess. It was a good thing that Helen went in there and shooed the cat away with a broom, because there otherwise might have been blood. It was great that it ended (mostly) peacefully!
Upon further observation through the open door, Leena noticed two things. One: the hawk was their cook, as was shown by him trying to straighten up the kitchen and also offering to make the various other girls staring at his toned muscles (and she was one of them too!) some simple dishes. Two: This was the Hawk King, Tibarn. He'd been a close contact of Dan and the others in the past, and Leena had heard from mutual friends of the Watch and FEF that he'd resigned his crew position. Now she knew why he was in hiding, he didn't want to be bothered! Everyone has their reasons for resigning, and number one was usually just 'cooling off'.
"King... Tibarn. Or should I just call you chef?" Leena asked, blushing slightly. She knew that he was a married man, so she wouldn't dare flirt with him. "I'll have an omlette, if it's not too much to ask. Put a little bacon in there too, that's how I like it! Just like my 'Pa used to make!" For a while, she contemplated on what to drink. "Oh yeah, and if you can, sir..." she addressed the Hawk King in a manner that wouldn't draw any more unneeded attention to him. "I'd like a mocha... that'd be just fine by me! I need lots of fuel to start a day at the shop, if you know what I mean."

"That's more like it," he said. "Right, I'll just do omelets for everyone, since the bread kind of got ruined." He offered Clara a smile as she helped pick things up. "Thanks, it's always nice to hear an appreciative voice," he said, folding his wings to his back. "But don't worry, I've got the kitchen covered. I'll get all this cleaned up before the lunch shift, seems I need to go shopping before it anyway. I'll be coming out to the dining room to have breakfast, I wanna sit down anyway." While the bacon sizzled, he went rummaging through the nearby bin for vegetables, and finally produced some peppers. "You all can go sit-- what do you want now?" he growled, turning to face Joshua. "I'm on the job, I don't want to make a bet, I didn't want to fight that guy, and the whole reason I'm in here is because I want to be left alone. So please, go. I'll have an omelet for you in a bit." He continued chopping and dicing the green chilis, then put a new pan on the stove and picked a few fresh eggs out of the box of them he kept in the corner.
Once he'd cracked them into the whisking bowl and discarded the shells, the green chilis were added, followed by a dash of cumin, coriander, and a couple of other choice spices that would without a doubt wake up his sleepy customers. He'd already chopped onions for the chili he was planning for lunch, and he took a handful and dropped them into the pan. He kept a close eye on them, occasionally moving them about with the spatula as they caramelized, and picked up the whisking bowl to beat the eggs. Once the onions were done, he tipped them into the bowl and resumed beating the mixture, then poured it out into the pan.
Soon enough, he was able to section it into four decent-sized omelets and dropped bits of bacon in. Fortunately, Tibarn didn't have to cover drinks-- those were handled at the bar. As the only chef, he had his hands full enough that he didn't need to deal with drinks as well.
At last, he flipped the omelets over onto themselves, then laid them out on four plates with an extra sausage on each and took everything off the stove. He opened the door to the kitchen a bit and hung up a little sign:
Breakfast Closed
Shortly after that, he opened the door with four plates, wearing his green jacket, and made his way to a table. The place had, at least, cleared out a bit, and he was able to sit down and have his own breakfast. "Alright, these are all the same, I really didn't have time to make each one special, so I kind of went with my favorite." He shrugged his shoulders and picked up a fork, then cut a small piece of his omelet with one and lifted it to his lips. The second it touched his tongue he startled a bit and swallowed. "A-hahahh, hot. Careful."

"I'm on the job, I don't want to make a bet, I didn't want to fight that guy, and the whole reason I'm in here is because I want to be left alone. So please, go. I'll have an omelet for you in a bit." Normally Joshua would have protested and attempted to persuade the man to his reasoning but something the man said got to him.
"I want to be left alone."
Joshua had to respect that... he knew the feeling, especially when someone else referred to him as "King Tibarn." This guy must be going through the same thing he went through once before... or at least something similar
"Huh a King eh? A King of Laguz? Well this just gets more interesting doesn't it." He grinned to himself under his hat, "I really am going to have to see him in action!"
Following Farina out he sat down at the same table she chose with a nod and a smile at her. "Not every day do I get to eat with a good-looking woman." He said quietly unsure if Farina had even heard him.
Either way it didn't matter as Tibarn had perfect timing and came out with four plates, one of which he plunked down in front of Joshua.
As he waited for it to cool down he looked everyone over, "I don't know about you but I like knowing who I'm eating with. I'm Joshua.... a mercenary." Like Tibarn Joshua preferred people not to know his status... if they found out they found out... but something he had learned in his travels was that most people would say more to a low-life then a ruler... something Ephraim had spoiled for him on their trip to Sentria. Looking at the Hawk King now Joshua spoke to him, "I still haven't given up on our bet you know? You refused without even hearing my wager! I can understand you being busy... but to busy to toss a coin? You can always make time for gambling."
Happily Joshua reached down with his fork and took a bite of the omelet "Hey! This is really good!" Today for some reason Joshua was all smile’s, actually for anyone who knew him the reason was quite simple, this morning when he had tossed a coin to check his luck it was one of those rare times it came up heads.

"Oh ok Sir."Clara said, "I still would like for you to read the note though." She disposed the pieces she had in her hands and went to the dinning room. She got herself a cup of water from the bar. She was still full from breakfast she had earlier, so she didn't need much else.
"Well he seems like a nice person." She thought, "Though I still don't know his name or why he has wings. Maybe if I ask nicely he'll answer." She didn't hear Leena say his name. Clara saw Tibarn come out with plates and food. She didn't blush this time since he was wearing his jacket this time. She made her way to the table that he was sitting at. She took out her note and placed it near Tibarn's plate.
"I hope you will read it Sir." She said, "Um, is it ok if I ask you 2 things?"

After climbing down the drainpipe and paid what little money he had to Helen for the damage (he informed her that he would pay the rest later once he got enough gold), Rajin went back to the kitchen after receiving one good smack from Helen with the broom.
"Damnit! I should have gotten rid of that broom before leaving." Rajin snarled as he flared his nostrils. He could still smell the foul stench onto him. He was unsure how could Alex stand the wrenched smell when wearing it.
Looking around the kitchen, he noticed that the place was a bit of a mess. Not only that, but the chef wasn't in the kitchen either.
"Damnit! Don't tell me I've come here for nothing!" Rajin exclaimed. Suddenly, he heard a low growl from his stomach. Damn, he had forgotten he hadn't eaten breakfast. If it wasn't for the cook to rile him up, he wouldn't be starving for food.
Rajin looked around the area. He could see that some of the dishes were smashed and broken along with some of the food on the floor. Well, at least most of the kitchen was safe from the brawl. That would mean less cleaning for him. And although he should clean his mess, his stomach informed him to eat first and clean later. He couldn't work well on an empty stomach.
Seeing a plate of muffin on the counter, Rajin snatched one and took a bite. The muffin tasted delicious and the texture was soft and moist. Damn that chef can cook. Speaking about the cook, he wondered where did he go? He did told Helen that he was going to apologize to the Hawk King.
Wondering if Tibarn was in another room, Rajin marched toward the dining room and looked around. Although the place had some of the customers eating and chatting, he managed to find the chef by seeing the folded wings. As he weaved his way around the dining, he could see that he was eating with same group who entered the kitchen. Huh? This laguz was an oddbird. One minute, he said that he wanted his privacy to himself. And now, he was eating with customers. That chef either had a screwed-up personality or he was just weird.
When he approached to Tibarn's table, he pulled out the chair, turned the chair around, and sat down where he was facing across from the Hawk King, making his present known.
"Sorry about busting with your chops, old man." Rajin apologized while crossing his arms across the back of the chair. He could the delicous scent of omelette and sausages from the table. Damn, he only took a bite out of the muffin and he was still hungry. "Just that I wanted to see how good you are at catching thieves. I guess Ma didn't ya that I usually pull that stunt on Alex sometimes."

The spunky blue haired girl had heard Joshua, but before she could comment, Tibarn came out with the food... and her stomach growled.
"Mmmmm...." Farina commented as she smelled the omelette and dug in. It was good, but indeed hot, so she had blown on it first. "Good stuff," the pegasus knight commented right after Clara's question. "Thanks."
Then, the cat eared nonhuman from before came back in and sat down. Said the whole fight was a test on thieving attentiveness. "There a lot of thieves around here?" Farina asked.

I won't be helping anyone I love if I merely stand here and cry, praying for their safety.~ ¤ ◆ Leena ◆ ¤ ~ With great pleasure, Leena took a nice bite out of the special omlette. It was just as good as her father's recipe back in the days when she used to live with him, and it got the vendor remembering life the way it was when she was with all her family: her parents and her older brother. Alfred would have loved this, I know it...
Thinking about Al was only going to make Leena sad though, and she got distracted from her thoughts upon hearing Farina's question. There a lot of thieves around here?
Turning her chair around to face Joshua (whom was shamelessly hitting on Farina) and the Ilian mercenary he was talking to, the vendor scowled. "There aren't a lot of thieves here now! There used to be before FEF came along.. but now they and the Watch take care of our city! They make sure that we get to enjoy our time like this."
She gestured around, to show how mostly everyone was happy in the atmosphere they were in. No one was fearful that they'd be robbed or pickpocketed, even if this was a modest place not in the 'rich' district of Eyris.- ▪ ⋄ Magical Jeweler ⋄ ▪ - I must be the creator of that which gives them strength... and forever forge happiness.

Farina blinked. "Oh? Who exactly is this FEF and where are they located?" she asked curiously. She didn't know anything about Eyris. The oold lady that had nursed her back when she dropped into the land had mentioned FEF, but not enough to satiate Farina's knowledge.
And just maybe, since FEF sounded like an important organization, they migth be able to help find Murphy and figure how the hell to get out of here and back to Elibe.

I won't be helping anyone I love if I merely stand here and cry, praying for their safety.~ ¤ ◆ Leena ◆ ¤ ~ The blue-haired knight was yet another person whom was new to Eyris! So many of the newcomers had been dropping in recently, and the vendor did wonder how (and why) doors from other worlds could be opened. She hadn't hardly understood the workings of magic, and even the forces within her own gear she forged were a mystery to her. One thing that wasn't a mystery to her though was FEF.
The Guild rose up to be Eyris's rulers, and kicked out a Duke whom wasn't known to be the best one to take control of their fair city. They were a Guild of virtue and chivalry, one whom always came to the aid of the citizens when they ran into trouble that was far beyond their power to fend off. "FEF the guild... rule Eyris Castle. You can't miss it, it's smack in the middle of the city, miss..." Leena smiled serenely towards Farina. "I'm sorry, what's your name? I'm Leena, owner of the Sparkles Jewelry shop. It's in our vendor district a carraige ride's away from here."- ▪ ⋄ Magical Jeweler ⋄ ▪ - I must be the creator of that which gives them strength... and forever forge happiness.

Clara frowned a bit when she heard that this FEF group was those that were in the castle. She had heard a few things about those that castle. It was taken over a few times by various people. That wasn't a good thing to know about this FEF group.
"This FEF group is the same group of people who failed to protect the castle, and yet the people love them?" She thought, "That doesn't add up. There has to be something I don't know about them, but how do I get it? I don't know who to ask." She took a sip of her water and glanced over at Tibarn, then she looked at Leena. "I'm sure one of them knows." She opened her mouth to speak, but no words come out of her mouth. Clara closes her mouth and frowns again. "But I don't know what to ask them!" She sighs, for she knew that this wasn't going to go well for her.

Tibarn blinked, scratching his neck. "Uh? Well, I can't guarantee I can answer them, but sure, go ahead," he said to Clara, then perked his ear. His fork was halfway to his mouth, but he sighed and put it back as Rajin approached. "Yeah, well, you still owe me. Half those spices you smashed had come out of my paycheck. Plus you kinda outed me. Least I get to sit down and eat today. Seriously, you owe me. I'll have a list of stuff for you to go buy by lunch." He smirked.
As the topic of conversation changed to FEF, though, his ear twitched and he silently turned back to his meal. Not a subject he wanted to be involved in, really-- the whole reason he came here was to get out of that scene. He had no hard feelings toward FEF, but it was a bad place for the Hawk King, so far as he was concerned.

Shaking the thoughts of FEF out of her mind, Clara turns back to Tibarn and make a smile. "I was just wondering, what is you name, and why do you have wings?" She asked, "I really do wonder why you have wings." She noticed Rajin and blinks, "Why do you have cat ears? This really is something new to me. I haven't see people like you in Leara. So I do wonder what you are." She takes another sip of her water. Hoping she would get an answer to her questions.

Farina did not notice Tibarn's ears twitch at the mention of FEF. She was giving her full attention to Leena. FEF sounded interesting, but Leena seemed cautious about the way she described them. Castle smack right in the middle of the city. Ok. Well, maybe they can hire me as a mercenary and help me find Murphy, but I wonder if there is something I should know that that this girl isn't telling me...
"Oh. FEF. Huh. Name's Farina, Pegasus knight of the Ilia's 3rd squad Strong Wings! Nice to meet ya, Leena."

Just as Rajin was about to take another bite of a muffin, he heard Tibarn talked back to him. His ears twitched a bit as he let out a crooked smile. So the old man still thought that he was his errand boy? Not only that, but him owning him? If he was in his laguz form, his whisker would be twisted already.
"Listen, old man." Rajin spoke with a look of challenge on his face as he slowly got up from his seat and placed his hands on the table, staring straight at Tibarn. If that Hawk King wanted to have a second round, Rajin didn't mind at all. Besides, he had pride in himself and he wasn't going to let the old man thought he was some petty laguz to take pity, whether it be laguz, beorc, or royalty. "I don't know what eggs you about having some privacy or give a damn about outing you. However, I don't owe you for the mess in the kitchen. I'm not your errand laguz and I've already paid my money to Helen. So if you think I still owe you and I'm going to obey your royalty orders, think again."
Although Rajin didn't like the idea of working with someone who sometimes messed with his fur, he knew very well that he owed Helen for the mess he caused. With all of his gold being paid to the tavern owner, he had to find some odd jobs to get money for the woman. He was thinking of asking Helen of letting him work around the tavern to repay the mess. But after meeting with the Hawk King again, he changed his mind. He hoped that Helen didn't overheard him and decided to beat him with that smelly broom again. Speaking about that, he would need to take a bath after this.
Just then, the tiger heard the group began talking about a guild called FEF. Rajin noticed the Hawk King's ears began to twitch like his. He cocked his eyebrow at Tibarn. What was that old man's problem? Sure, he had heard so very little about the guild, but Rajin didn't care about the guild as long as the guild wasn't twisting his whiskers. However, seeing the royal laguz being all silent about that guild was a bit strange. Was there something going on between him and the guild?
Suddenly, he heard someone was talking to him. Rajin turned his attention around to the spoker. Sitting next to the Hawk King was a purple-haired beorc woman, asking him about his ears. He cocked his eyebrow at the beorc.
"What? You've never heard of a laguz before?" Rajin questioned back. He then let out a small smirk at the beorc. Unlike the beorc from his homeworld, these beorc didn't discriminate him or any of his kind. This world was a strange place to him, but he somewhat liked the way these beorc behaved in this world. Always curious and not being arrogant and prejudice about the race.
"Well, to answer your question," Rajin replied as he sneaked the sausage from the jeweler's plate and ate it. He didn't care if the blue-haired jeweler saw him taking her sausage away. He was hungry after all.
"I'm a tiger laguz, not a cat. And a laguz is a race from my world, Tellius, where that old man," Rajin jerked his thumb at Tibarn. "And I transform into our true forms. Unlike you beorc, we're more powerful in our true forms than what we are in these forms. But don't worry, we won't attack you as long as you don't call us 'subhumans.'"

Clara shook her head. "No, not a lot of things that are here in Eyris would be around in Leara. Leara's much colder than Eyris, since we are a lot more north. I don't think Laguz would like it there." She answered Rajin's question. She then saw Rajin steal some sausage from one of the one of the other women.
"Was was her name? Lee...Linda..Leena? That's it. Her name is Leena." She thought, "I don't think Leena's going to be too happy with that. He must be hungry. Maybe that's why the fight broke out in the kitchen. This guy was hungry and he just wanted some food. Maybe I can help him with that, but he is kinda big, and wait did he just say he can become a tiger? Oh, that could be a problem." She took her bag of gold and looked to see how much she had left. She had a few gold pieces in the bag. That wasn't going to last much longer, but is as her father told her 'do good things and good things will happen to you'. So maybe if she helped the tiger, maybe someone might be able to help her out and she can get more gold and she could stay at the inn longer. She got up and walked over to Rajin as he talked more about Laguz. She place 4 gold pieces in front of him.
"Here," She said, "You should be able to buy a good sized meal with this gold. I think it's a neat thing that Laguz can become animals, if animals are your true forms. To be able to run really fast or to be able to fly through the air, just puts a smile on my face from thinking about it. I can I can run fast, but that's because I trained with weights to work on my running speed. I doubt it's as fast as you can run though." Clara had a smile on her face. Doing something nice for someone always did put a smile on her face.
