"But aren't we all tools? Just devices to further the means of someone stronger? Relax, child. Your daughter won't be harmed. I assure you she will be more than well when she's served her purpose." Razevi blatantly ignored the calls of the others as she focused on this one girl. "I promise, if you leave now I won't have to hurt you."
Of course, the answer to this was a lunge. A lunge. Didn't she know that the fastest way to open one's self to an attack was to charge in? Obviously this girl hadn't been using a sword long. It only took a simple sidestep of her attack and a duck to plunge her own sword into the girl's abdomen. It wouldn't be fatal (if she left now), but it would still hurt.
She turned away, pulling her sword out of Alihi. "I warned you. But if you continue...I cannot assure you everyone on your mission shall return alive."

♦ ◄ALIHI► ♦ ————————————
... She really needed to stop being so foolish.
"Nnck--!" In a single instant, pain consumed her entire being. Alihi staggered backwards, pressing her hand against the wound. No. She couldn't stop now. It wasn't important. Something like this couldn't stop her...
When she tried to move, though, she found the agony coursing through her body. No longer was her mind focused on anger or Amara or revenge.
It was all focused on one spot of her body that felt like it was on fire. Her eyes narrowed, her rapier still out and pointed. The hand that was against her stomach was slowly turning red.
She didn't want to give up now. "I... I'm fine..." The tactician hissed, lowering her rapier. She looked to the rest of the group, eyes narrowed. "... D-do what you will. Don't die... No mercy!" (( ... Guess who forgot that she's going to be gone, like, all day today and still tried to start a duel? 8D;; ))

When Abel saw her get stabbed, his world shook, and he felt colder. "Alihi!!" He ran over to her side, and held her. Her clothes were turning red. His emotions got the better of him. "No... Alihi, be okay! Please!" He administered a vulnerary, then looked around at the others. "Somebody! Help her!" His voice was distressed. He tried to hold back some tears, but they still slowly began to build up.
He was relieved when she said she was okay. Even if she wasn't, and he didn't believe she was, she was still with them, and was still holding strong. She was giving orders. She wasn't going to give up, and neither was he. Abel would listen to her, and do what she said. "Yes, no mercy... just hang in there. Stay here with us..."
He gently laid Alihi down, then rose to his feet, and looked at the mask wearer with intensely cold eyes. "...You. First you take Amara, then you do this." His voice was shaky, but still battled to keep it together. "I won't let go get away with it!" Up until now, his enemy had said nothing. She had just stared ahead.
He gripped his blade, and held it outward. "I'll stop you. Even if I fall, even if I bleed to death, or my limbs are cut away from me, I'll find a way! ...Last time, you came up upon me and I could do nothing. This time is different." His held his blade above his head, and the breeze began to pick up rapidly, centering around Abel. "This time... I'll fight BACK!" Suddenly, his slashed his blade forward with great force, and a powerful blast of piercing wind rushed toward the raven. Wind meant trouble for winged units, and with Ganon's tune, Abel's power and speed were improved, and improved even further in his anger.
After unleashing the wind, Abel charged forward to follow up, if his first attack didn't work. He leaped into the air, and swung down upon his enemy, with great rage. "Take this!!"

...Injured with pain and sadness, the you that cannot be healed Shoulder the burden of the past that cannot be erased; don't throw away your will to live...[ X ][ O ]Blossom[ O ][ X ] →Blossom watched Vika warily, not speaking over her conversation with Alihi. Amara, a tool to some foreign plan. She wasn't going to give Amara back yet, and somehow the strange voice that Vika spoke in gave Blossom chills. She could not quite believe her reassurance that Amara would remain safe.
Before Blossom could do anything, Alihi rushed her, and Blossom was already on her feet, approaching the tactician. Vika was faster than Blossom had thought--faster than anyone had thought, perhaps--and when Abel reached Alihi first, Blossom quick to the brunette's other side, crimson blood was already spreading across her stomach.
There was a Vulnerary administered, and when Alihi's condition seemed stable, Blossom faced the raven. Abel was already attacking, swinging his sword with what must've been all the strength he had. Blossom did not wait behind to let the others fight; she ran at Vika as well, her sword raised high. She followed closely behind Abel, ducking forward once his sword had finished its arc, whether or not he hit the raven.
"We don't care--" Blossom shouted, swinging Vezra in a mighty horizontal sweep, aimed at Vika's ribcage, at that emphasized syllable--"what plan you have!" Blossom rolled forward after the strike, barely managing to keep a hold on Vezra and not damage herself on its sharp blade. (Well, the move was easier when she was using Lysander, it was a much smaller blade by comparison!) As soon as she was standing, she whipped herself around and struck at Vika's back, aiming for the base of her right wing. "We came here to get Amara back, and we aren't leaving without her!"← You'd better forget everything. Remember. . . your different Life?XXX You'd better forget everything. A vile smirk spread across Vika's face. Seven hundred years. Seven hundred years since Razevi had felt the thrill of battle. Here it was. Her time. Her redemption. Her escape. Fingers tensed around the hilt of her sword. She glanced at the girl she had previously injured only briefly before focusing crimson red eyes upon Abel. "I warned you. But if a fight's what you wish, then I'll certainly enjoy the game!"
Upon Abel's assault, she found herself leaping into the sky, taking advantage of the raven girl's body she currently possessed to gain the altitude needed to avoid the boy's attack. The blades of wind still struck her, however, and she grimaced as her current body withstood the attack. There was something about the tune that bard played. It intensified wind-based attacks, Razevi could feel it. It would also intensify the abilities of those attuned to the wind, this raven girl included.
She swept back down, slashing a wide arc at Abel. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted Blossom dashing around her. Razevi flapped wings, attempting to pull off a flip to avoid her, but she still wasn't quite used to this body. The sword dragged heavily across her backside, slicing into the base of one of her wings. The woman howled in pain, but the howl soon turned to laughter as she used her airborne momentum to dive over the two and land safely facing them. Before their eyes, the sword morphed into a golden blade, and electricity spurted from its blade. She remained still, watching the two, blood dripping from her backside. It stained her clothes, but she seemed to pay no mind to it. The sword found itself casually tossed from hand to hand swiftly, almost as if the girl were taunting the two.
And to any observer, it would appear as though her tattoo was actually glowing intensely for a moment before returning to its scarlet hue.

...Injured with pain and sadness, the you that cannot be healed Shoulder the burden of the past that cannot be erased; don't throw away your will to live...[ X ][ O ]Blossom[ O ][ X ] →"You think this is a game?"
Blossom's grip shifted against her blade, her breath now coming in ragged gasps. Her shoulder was growing incredibly pained, enough to make her left hand loosen against her sword, and only by having the fingers of her right hand cover her left hand could she assure that her grip would not fail. She could see the blood spattering against the darkened sand of this night-like realm.
The sword was enough to rattle her, not to mention that strange laughter. Or the glowing blood on her body, only to watch the lighting effect fade out of sight.
Blossom tried to calm her aching lungs, but she was growing exhausted. She didn't know how long she could keep fighting. It would be one thing to fight in Learania, in temperate conditions, but after being exposed to severe heat for so long, now to be subjected to a polarizing cold, Blossom's senses were ready to shut down.
"This is not a game!" Blossom took a step forward, keeping her face set in what she hoped was a threatening scowl. "You said yourself that you'd leave us alone if we left, right? We don't have to fight. We just want back Alihi's daughter. We'll leave if you just let her come home!"← You'd better forget everything. Shaking now, trembling,is a light all alone not a thing to heal the pain...it disappears -Ephraim- -------------------- A simple request...returning the girl was a SIMPLE request. But did she want to take the easy way out? Nope, villians never do. Its always the hard way. His thoughts were interrupted when Alihi suddenly ran up, winding up with a wound. Next to move was Abel and boy did he look pissed. Blossom followed after, both attacking at full force ti seemed. No mercy indeed In less then a second, this battle had already gone fierce. "I'm not about to be left behind" even though he wasn't. This didn't seem like a battle that only two people can handle themselves. Ephraim charged in, perhaps not a smart idea but he wasn't just about to sit back and do nothing. He could hear Blossom screaming words at her, trying to talk things through. But words didn't seem to be getting through to this woman's thick skull. "Forget it, Blossom! Talking isn't getting us anywhere!" He shouted, passing Blossom. They've already tried and if the first set of words didn't make any sense, then none will. Vika..or rather...this person wasn't willing to listen. Ephraim leaped toward Vika, spear aimed straight for the mask. ((Crap post is crap )) -------------------- with no return, the memories flow all being swept away toward the end of this world

"I'm sorry, child. As much as I would love to return your precious daughter, she isn't quite finished yet. It'd be counterproductive, wouldn't it? So, go on now. Just turn around, and let us finish our work. You've served your purpose, and she will be returned when she serves hers. Simple!"
As she spoke, however, Ephraim came directly for her with his lance. Aiming directly for her face - more specifically, her mask. No one touched her mask. She ducked and swung her sword out at the prince, avoiding contact but firing off a vicious arc of electricity along its path. However, there was one factor she had forgotten in her evasion - the large wings of Vika's she was currently borrowing. As she ducked, her left wing moved directly into the path of the spear, and the spear pierced it cleanly. She shrieked, the tattoo glowing even more fiercely than it had the first time. Her arm lashed out, slicing the path of the spear, cutting the staff in two. With this opportunity, Razevi took the chance to back away, staggering away a few paces, the end of the lance still protruding from her wing.
She laughed, only a calm chuckle at first, soon escalating to a loud, maniacal giggle. The etches upon her skin glowed with a deep reddish hue. She threw the sword aside, and as it faded upon the sand into flecks of darkness, an infernal aura of flame rose from her feet, enveloping the raven where she stood. The hilt of the lance embedded within her caught fire, charring to ash. The wings, now burning themselves, flapped, sending embers into the air around her, and she rose into the sky. Then the laguz shifted forms into a flaming, skeletal phoenix, spread mighty wings, and dove towards the prince Ephraim himself.

Blossom trailed off, watching as Vika's tattoos glowed, and then as she backed away, she started to laugh. Quiet at first, but rapidly growing in both volume and intensity, enough to send chills down Blossom's spine. Even if she intended on attacking, there wasn't any time before flames rose up and encircled her. Vezra hit the dirt as Vika flew upwards, and as she began to dive for Ephraim, now completely consumed in flame, Blossom screamed.
"Watch out!" Blossom ran for Ephraim and tackled him head-on, aiming to push him down onto the sand and get Vika's attack to miss completely. Blossom was scrambling off of Ephraim's side as soon as she landed on it, reaching back for her inherited weapon. "Well, fine, then!" Blossom muttered, heaving in a deep breath before aiming a powerful swing down the middle of Vika's back, right between her wings. They didn't have to kill her. They just had to keep her from getting back up. No one was dying, not even her. Blossom glanced at Alihi, knowing she wasn't going to have calmed down yet.
At least, none of us are dying... not if I have a say in the matter.← You'd better forget everything. Remember. . . your different Life?XXX You'd better forget everything. Remember. . . though, we cannot returnXXXLike in times of warped memories, we can understand somedayXXX

Shaking now, trembling,is a light all alone not a thing to heal the pain...it disappears -Ephraim- -------------------- "I..I missed!" not only did he miss, Reginleif was sliced in half in less then a second. His only weapon was now in two! In one swift move his beloved spear was shattered! This couldn't get any worse. Ephraim raised his arms, covering his eyes as the woman flew back into the air. Few moments later, a large raven came flying at him. Was this the same person? It had to be..a laguz? Shut it, Ephraim! This was no time to be astonished at such a thing. She just teared your spear in half and now your weapon less! So whaddya gonna do? Before answering his own thought, Blossom suddenly rushed toward him. "Watch out!" The impact shoved him half-way across from where the raven had aimed. Blossom rolled off him and he sat up, staring at the now raven that was obviously going to make her next move. He looked at the remainings of his spear and made a soft 'tsk' before tossing it aside. Ephraim was officially out of this battle. -------------------- with no return, the memories flow all being swept away toward the end of this world

Roy could only watch. His body wasn't fit to fight close-combat at the moment. Ephraim's lance had been broken, Alihi took a serious wound in the stomach, Blossom was attacking the kidnapper, and all he could think of was where had he met the bird before. She looked familiar, but the mask made it tough to determine her true identity. He knew a few Ravens, but not many.
And then it came to him. This was Vika, who had that unusual relationship with one of Madriana's morphs last year. Man, she had changed a lot. He couldn't take her as a bad guy. So he couldn't fight her. But that mask...it certainly felt like something he had witnessed before.
Ah...
That's right. The incident with Tura was just like this. The mask had a conscious of its own, and was using the host's body to do its bidding. Well, if it was like that, all they had to do was get the mask off. Too bad Vika had just turned into a fiery phoenix-like bird and was kinda sorta rampaging around a little. It went for Ephraim, but Blossom shoved him out of the way. His hand gripped his sword.
No, he wouldn't attack the bird. They had been allies once before. He couldn't fight her. But he could draw her attention away from her for a while, until someone could bind the Raven.
The flames sprung up once more around his blade as he analyzed the situation. He needed to read the movements, and then strike. But not to hit her. Just get close enough to draw her attention to him. He waited for the right moment.

Abel quickly reacted and blocked the slash his enemy sent to him. Before he could counter, he saw Blossom coming toward him, and moved out of her way, trying to keep a close eye on the raven. He saw her land away from them, and start laughing, as she bled. Was she crazy? No, she had some sort of secret. Her sword had changed. No matter, a weapon wasn't the only thing that made a person stronger.
He kept his distance, for a moment, to watch the abilities of his opponent. In the past he would have just blindly kept going, and wearing himself out. He was a smarter fighter, now. If he could understand his opponent's moves, perhaps he could find a way to exploit them.
And he did learn. Her weapon could emit electric charges. But things only got more odd. She cast her sword aside, and started to change shape, or... or something. It appeared as if she only got more powerful the more they fought her.
However, now wasn't the time to take it in. The raven had begun to charge at Ephraim, and the lord didn't stand a chance. He wasn't near fast enough to dodge. Thankfully, Blossom was close enough to shove him out of the way, but the raven would obviously circle around, and come again. They wouldn't be fast enough to get out of the way, on their own, this time.
Thinking quickly, Abel ran toward where Ephraim and Blossom were, and unleashed a blast of piercing wind with a swing of his blade. He had tried to time it so that it would slam right into the raven, as she was about to catch her prey. He wasn't sure if he had been able to time it right, but it would certainly force the enemy to stop, given its weakness to wind. Unfortunately, the wind did not hit. This enemy was much too smart to allow herself to be taken in by such easily avoidable moves. Even with much power, a weakness is still a weakness, and the wind would surely have harmed her too much.
As a natural response, Deborah saw the laguz swirl around and avoid the wind as best she could. This left a big open blind spot. Thanks to her thunder affinity, she received a boost to her abilities, and took off. She then got even faster, as the special ability of her spear activated. The results would be quite critical. The next thing the raven knew, Deborah was in the air behind her. "Tanks for deh openin'. Time for ya teh screech in pain now!" Deborah jabber her spear right into the spot where the raven had been wounded earlier, and slashed downward, before landed, and getting a safe distance. "And dat, children, is how it's done."

It was a scare tactic. Razevi really didn't want to kill any of them. But...eh, life rarely goes according to plan. The seals upon her were extremely weak for her to be able to summon her own flames. It was only a matter of time...
Aha! A splitting pain wracked her body, sending agony coursing through all her nerves. No sound of reaction came from her form as she swept up into the sky. She turned around, dove towards the ground again, and swept along her attackers, and came to a final halt upon a safe area of the sand as her form melded once again into that of Vika's human. The raven collapsed upon the cold sand, and the mask was sent flying off of her face a fair distance away from the laguz.
It was at that time that Vika realized that she had full control of her body again. She lay upon the ground, gasping for breath after bloody breath. Her wings were ragged, torn. Vika's skin was mutilated, the bloody tattoo having been replaced by numerous wounds and gashes. She struggled to stay away, but quickly found herself weakly fading into darkness.
As for the mask...

...It lay upon the sand, gleaming with an unearthly shine in the twilight. It shone brighter, the golden hue providing a beacon as the mask itself rose into the air. Fire poured out of the mask, first forming an amorphous blob as it was deposited upon the ground, then reaching up towards the mask. It divided itself, separating into a humanoid form with limbs, torso, abdomen, head, pulsating as it twisted and writhed, shaping itself into a lithe, slender female body. Finally, it ceased its chaotic motions once an adequate form seemed to have been decided upon, and the mask fell to the ground. The form seemed to turn around towards the voyagers, nodding at them, a hand moving to its face as though to shield its own face from the view of the others. The glow around her body quickly faded, revealing a slender woman in a blood-red dress. The tattooes that had once been upon Vika's form were now upon this woman's body, and they glowed for a few moments longer before finally settling upon the skin as deep crimson etches.
Her hand still blocking any view of her face, she turned around, walked over to the mask, and picked it up to place upon her mask. She remained still for a moment, shifting the mask upon her face to ensure that it was straight, then turned around to face her assailants.
"Greetings, children," she chuckled. "Again, I thank you for assisting me. Now, please leave, or I'll remove you by force."
