It may have been mostly his gig (or perhaps he just liked to think it was), but he couldn't have done it without the others. They are just as much genius as he is.
Yes, the others are awesome as well and it wouldn't be Malice Mizer without them, but this thread is for talking about Mana and his fashion. I don't know who designed the MM costumes so I really can't say anything- the others seemed to have their own ways of expressing themselves fashion-wise (like Kozi and his ruffles). As far as I know, they haven't come out with their own clothing line, and I like clothes/ fashion and Mana and talking about Mana's clothing line. If the others came otu w/ one I'd be just as interested.

My favorite is Gackt era, but the best outfits are in the Klaha's era.

True, Mysitque, but if I am not mistaken, Mana-sama designed a good deal of their clothing. That may not be 100% correct, but he picked them out if nothing else, seeing as he was the artistic director.
On top of that, as I told Neji, I am not too terribly worried about staying on topic right now. I just want the guild to stay alive, and any post, anywhere, helps... So long as it is in the ball park of the topic, its okay. ^^;

I like the Gackt Era's happy colors. =3 But the Klaha Era is so sophisticated and pretty. x3
Just to interject my thoughts.
EDIT: Also, Mystique, have you ever had a conversation that stayed completely on topic ALL the time? No... People go off on tangents all the time. Eventually the topic weasels its way back in. But, yeah... Chill a bit, okay?

Gackt is my favorite as well, by far. Every set of outfits is so unique from the rest. Klaha is good as well, but they all seem to be very similar (I may have said that before >.>)

My favorite was Gackt's era because of two reasons:
The Iluminati costumes XD
and i loved the le ciel live preformance outfits too.
If it weren't for those two facts the klaha era would be my favorite, but the one that i prefer for the music was the klaha era, Klaha's voice is completly perfect, it must've taken years to get such a perfect voice.

BTW, I've also read that Mana is "responsible" for Malice Mizer's clothes but, I do get the feeling that every member had their part in it, at least in the Gackt era. I think you can see their personal style more then.

Yes, Mystique, I must agree.
I can see Mana having a consultation with each member and getting their ideas for what they want their outfits to be. XD And him saying "Yes, yes! That is a wonderful idea!" or "NO! That's no good at all, why don't you try this." XD

I don't know what you think but often when people talks about Mana and Malice Mizer's outfits it very often sounds like he is making all of them, ideas etc. and that the other members doesn't have anything to come with, which I don't really think is the case. As I said before Malice Mizer was all the members groupe not just Mana's so I think everyone had ides not just when it comes to music, just that Mana probably was most in charge for the clothings.
Btw, you with the Kami avatar, nice work^^ I also thinks Kami is one with the nicest outfits in Illuminati, he and Közi^^

I have to say I like Gackt era's theatrical ambiance. They're super creative, and I just love how they each have their own colors- Like the power rangers. (Not to mention Kami is my favorite color)
Tetsu era looked too indie to me, and I liked Klaha era fashion, but it made me sad- They always look like they came from a funeral, for obvious reasons... Besides, Gackt era looks to be the... Happiest, brightest kind of fashion- Not to mention it put Malice on the map. heart
I managed to find some of the original character designs drawn by Mana- Who was the one who designed them all, but they had proffessionals sew them, since Mana can't sew:
I mean, come on- Look how happy they are!
(Order is Mana, Yu~ki, Kozi, and Kami- They decided to wear each others outfits)

Nah- You got to remember that Mana is Japanese, and the Japanese are talented artists... Except Kozi, his drawings are nice and funny. xD
Ah, and maybe I should agree with Mystique, because Mana drew them and designed the final product, but he obviously got feedback and cooperation from the other band members- I can imagine them not wearing something if they didn't like it or put in their 2 cents. :/
