Elan purred happily, already dozing off a bit as he kept close to Acelin, content being with the boy. Kael gave a small smile at the sight of the two. "I'm sure that you'll run into him soon, if not tomorrow. Despite this place being as large as it is, you'll probably be running into all of us fairly regularly." He glanced outside, the storm still going, but starting to slow down. "The walls are pretty thick between here and outside, so it's not too surprising that you can't hear it. Although, you look pretty tired... would you like me to show you your room?"

--

Esqyn glanced outside for probably the twentieth time, frowning faintly in concern, his blue-green eyes troubled. Blond hair framed his fair face, pale pointed ears poking past the golden locks. It was late, but he wasn't able to sleep, and he was deeply worried for any of the new students who might be caught out in this. He had heard that Antoine had arrived, and Kael was taking care of him, but there had been no sign of Louis Vontrap, and he had been due earlier today. If he's caught out in this weather.... Esqyn envisioned how bad it might be if they had gotten lost in the surroundings woods, especially, and couldn't take it anymore. He pulled his cloak on, grabbed a second one just in case, and slipped a dagger into his belt, heading out the door. He didn't see anyone, but that was no surprise, given that visibility was so low in this mess. Instead, he closed his eyes, his thoughts quieting, and mentally reached out, searching. It took a couple of moments, but soon enough he knew which direction to head in, and started off. "Please be okay...."

Acelin was slightly confused by what Kael said but he figured he met the other teachers. Acelin was fighting what his body wanted dozing off but tried to force himself to stay awake. At the mention of a room he nodded slightly, rubbing his eyes as he stood up grabbing his bag. He grabbed Elan from his perch holding him in his arms.

He followed the man the where the rooms where as he was walking he looked around at the style of building as well as keeping up with Kael as to not get lost.

Louis was frantic running around in the woods. He was crying out for help but his voice was lost in the loud thunder over his head. He was shaking from terror and cold plus he could not hear or smell where he was. He thunder made it impossible to use his hearing, the cold had stuffed up his nose he was blind in most of his senses. He was panicked and whimpering he didn't know where to go. He was a city kid he wasn't used to running around in the woods in the rain despite being a lycan.

Kael led Acelin down a long, twisting corridor until finally he came to a wing flanked with doors on each side. Opening one of them, he smiled, leading the boy inside.

The inside of the bedroom was stunning, luxurious. The bed could easily fit three people, mahogany spiraling upwards towards the high ceiling in an elegant four-poster with pale blue curtains. Mounds of silk pillows were piled fashionably at the head of the bed in shades of azure and gold, the top comforter, satin from the looks of it, was midnight blue, matching the sapphire Persian-esque rug centered in the room. Next to the bed was a matching mahogany night stand with a large pillar candle for late-night reading. At the other end of the room was an armoir, a vanity dresser with a sink, and a bookcase already half-filled with books on history and magic, each a matching mahogany with brass and lapis lazuli accents, intricately carved.

A small table in the center of the room sported two more large pillar candles, a vase brimming with a bouquet of fresh flowers such as lilies, lavender, ferns, and mums centered in the middle. To either side were baskets containing various fruits, bread, squash, a block of cheese, and a water pitcher containing both water and ice, kept magically cold, off to the side.

"Here's your new room," he explained. "I hope that you'll like it. Although, you should probably get some rest for now...." Kael felt worried leaving Acelin alone right now, after he'd gone through so much, though, in case the cold really had gotten to him. "Um, I know it's a bit awkward probably, but either Elan or I can stay with you during the night, if you'd prefer...." He blushed faintly, instantly embarrassed, and almost wanting to take his words back. He was sure it sounded ridiculous to the boy.

--

Esqyn ran through the woods as fast as his legs would take him, mind going through all of the horrible possibilities of what could have happened to the boy, on the verge of sheer panic stemming from his concern. After a few moments of running, he nearly ran straight into Louis, barely able to stop in time. Panting faintly, he saw that the boy was obviously panicking, and without thinking about it, pulled him into a hug. "It's going to be okay. Are you all right..?" He put the spare cloak around Louis, using a bit of his power to warm him.

Louis was whimpering and shaking he clung to the other tightly cuddling close not even thinking about his shyness right now. "Please..please...get me someplace warm..so cold." he whimpered out. Sure he may of been an arctic fox but he was only good against cold in his animal form. "Thank..god you found me..thank god." he panted out more huddling close to the other.

Acelin looked around the room, despite the darkness he could see everything perfectly. The room was bigger than the whole bottom half of his house, if not bigger than his whole house. Acelin walked inside setting his bag down, setting Elan on the bed as he dug through one of the side capartments looking for what he needed, it a simple shot that helped with his Anemia. At the propsal Kael suggested, Acelin blushed a bright red. He glanced at him seeing th slight blush, faintly. "Um...If you want too. I have no complaints." he said nervisouly glad he didn't stutter.

Esqyn held the boy close, hugging him tightly in concern, and warmed him a bit with his power. Worriedly, he whispered, "I will, I promise. It's not far... please hang in there...." Esqyn frowned in concern, blond hair slipping into his blue-green eyes faintly. Louis was shaking so badly, he wasn't sure if the boy would be able to walk even that far, in this state. "Here," he said, kneeling for a moment, and he helped Louis to get up so that he could carry him on his back, piggy-back style. "We'll be there soon...." Deeply concerned, the elf made his way quickly, although each of his steps careful, back to the fortress.

After a few minutes, they finally reached the door, and Esqyn touched it lightly, a small glow like a bit of sunlight at his fingertips. The doors, although large enough for three dragons to walk through abreast, swung open easily to the warmth of the keep. Esqyn stepped inside, shutting the doors behind them, and took Louis over to the monstrously huge fireplace within the great hall. He gently let the boy down, and without thinking about it, hugged him close, hoping he would be all right. Just to be sure, he infused a bit more of his power into the boy to help him warm up more quickly. "How about some hot tea...? It might help," he suggested quietly.

--

Kael blushed faintly, and nodded, although he was deeply relieved to be able to keep an eye on the boy and make sure he was alright. "I can sleep on the floor. I'll just go grab some blankets, all right?" He gave Acelin a soft smile, relieved that he seemed to be feeling a bit better than before. He watched curiously as Acelin gave himself a shot, a bit confused, but pondering it to himself rather than saying anything out loud.

Elan purred faintly, sleepily, curled up close inside Acelin's shirt contentedly. His tail flickered a bit happily as he kept close.

"Its for anemia. The shot I mean" Acelin said as Kael left the room. When Kael was gone he quickly changed into pajamas, a white mucle shirt and basket ball shorts. He folded his other clothes just setting on the tanle, unpacking tomorrow. As he was walking to the bed, he heard soft noises the sound of wimpering and someone trying to calm them down. When Kael returned Acelin was in bed but not asleep yet. "Did someone else arrive?" he asked yawning slightly.

Kael nodded, setting up a makeshift bed with a pillow he had found and some blankets, on the floor next to Acelin's bed. "Yeah, another student. Louis Vontrap got caught up in that storm as well, and Esqyn went out to find him. They just got back... Louis is looking somewhat worse for wear, but he couldn't be in better hands, so I know he'll be all right." He curled up in his makeshift bed, glad to be able to watch over Acelin. Even though the world was at peace right now, he'd lived during too much war between the two sides to be able to trust the seemingly calm atmosphere. He sighed softly, already knowing he'd be unable to sleep tonight, though. Insomnia had plagued him for nearly his whole life, being genetically nocturnal, but raised to be awake during the day. The only solution he had found over the years was curling up close to another person, but that probably wasn't an option here. I'd much rather choose sleep deprivation to making him uncomfortable.

Louis was shaking huddled close to the fire. His body steadily began to warm and felt better. "Tea..yes..please." he said in between his teeth chattering. "Thank you." he was so happy to be inside. He had been wandering the streets of the city since the day his parents had kicked him out living in shelters but he had never been out in a storm that bad before. Though he had been this cold before he honestly had been worried this time he wasn't going to make it.

((Sunset Susie, I'm going to give perryunicornboy a chance to get a bit caught up, chronologically. Give me a couple of posts to get to that point, and if you'd like, you can take this chance to post a dream sequence or two, and I'll probably post a bit on Kael as well, and that will give us the chance to get to know Acelin a bit better as well. ^^ In the future, I'll probably announce time-skips, even short ones, by letting everyone know they each have one or two posts before the skip happens. Sorry about the confusion!))

Kael stared up at the ceiling, absolutely unable to sleep, restless. Thoughts came to his mind and left it, and he ruminated on times that weren't as easy. He worried that this peace wouldn't last long, that something would happen. Worse yet, he knew that he and the other gods attracted the worse sort of trouble... and the students might get dragged into it. He glanced over towards the sleeping boy in his bed, and sighed softly, hoping that he would be able to protect him.

--

Esqyn frowned worriedly, and left for a moment, although reluctant to do so. He prepared a tray holding a pot of hot, sweet tea with sugar and cream on the side, teacups, as well as pleasantly hot crescent-shaped cookies which smelled like honey and almonds. The dishes were expensive looking, a thin porcelain with hand-painted emerald designs, and gold-rimmed edges. He set the tray down on the table in Louis' prepared room, and quickly went back out to find the boy, hoping he was still all right. "I brought it to your room, I hope that's okay...."

He led the boy to a room which virtually shouted luxury. Each piece of furniture was hand-crafted out of mahogany and intricately detailed. A gorgeous four-poster bed easily capable of sleeping three sat in the center of the room. Emerald and gold pillows were piled up decoratively at the head of the bed, and the comforter contained intricate gold branch designs on an emerald background. To one side of it was a night table with a large pillar candle set there, and further off, a bookcase already half-filled with books on magic and history. On the other side sat the table he had set the tea. Another large candle, as well as two baskets containing cheese, bread, various fruits, and cookies were set to either side, and a glass and pitcher of water finalized the set-up. A large armoir sat off to the side, next to a vanity with a mirror and water basin.

It took a while for Acelin to fall asleep. He slept peacefully for a while until a dream, it wasn't a nightmare or anything just really an odd one. Acelin was in the middle of a big white room, it was vague but it seemed like a confrence room he assumed. Many people were gathered all blurry. They were talking to fast for him to hear. He kept calling for a name though, 'Loki'... that was when he woke up. "What was that?" he whispered to himself.

Louis smiled and looked at the room. He gasped. A bed and food it had been so long he proceeded to devour the cookies it was apparent he starving and had been for some time. He drank some tea as well feeling it warm his body. He stared at the room and looked to the other. "I'll..be ok now you should get some rest." he said softly to reassure the other. However how could he tell the other the truth he hated sleeping alone he had always found some animal or even person to curl up with before bed. The thought of being alone in such a large room in the dark terrified him.

Esqyn recognized the look immediately - he had seen it before in Arc, Kael, and a couple of the others were the same way. Unable without another person. Kael's case was so severe that he wouldn't sleep for weeks if he was alone at night. He was relieved to see Louis doing a bit better after food and some nice, hot tea, but offered sincerely, "Would you like me to stay with you for the night? I don't mind at all...." He offered a disarming smile, hoping to help.

--

Kael knew sleep was impossible for him at this rate, but he coaxed himself into a meditative state, so that he could at least garnish a bit of rest out of this night, although he was secretly wishing for Aries or Ishmael to be here with him, to have someone to curl up against. He closed his eyes, letting his mind quieten, but was, as a result, sucked into a vision, dark things staining his mind, corrupt intentions easily sensed by his empathy. Their power was suffocating. The walls of the school were around him, where the evil would come to reside. Only one person could possibly contain this much power and evil intention. Omin. The God of Corruption himself.

Elan had accidentally shifted to his elven form while asleep, looking similar to Kael in appearance, with moon-white hair, although it was a bit longer. His eyes, now closed, were the palest husky blue, and his skin was pale, although unlike Kael's complexion, had just enough hue to recognize that he was not albino, unlike his counterpart. White equine ears, like those of an ivory horse, poked up past the pale locks of hair, and a white lion's tail twitched contentedly beneath the blankets. He was snuggled close to Acelin in his sleep, purring softly, contentedly.
