Autumnpaw finished the elders bedding, finding absolutely no twigs in the bedding, and waited for Cinderkit to finish. He looked off into the distance, thinking that this was what it felt like to be a LakeClan apprentice, this was what it felt like to train to be a warrior.
With a sad smile he wondered what Honeytail would say if she saw him now. Would she be happy, or wonder why he hadn't done so sooner.

Echosong is my mate. She is the love of my life, and there is going to be nothing to ever change that. I protect her, she protects me and that's how it is. It was only a moon ago when we had become mates. She was the one to change the way I walk, the way I talk, though my lazy, rebel-like attitude still sticks to my personality. I know she doesn't like it that way, but it's what I am.
We both entertwined our tails again as we padded to the elders' den to go say hello to Brackentail. We passed Autumnpaw and the ever so tiny Cinderkit on the way,
"Good-morning, Brackentail, how is your day so far?"
Me and Echosong asked in unison.. . .Will you still care? Will you be there?■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□ ════════════════════════════════════════

Brackentail's eyes clouded with confusion for a second. "Well.......you don't need to know any specifics. Apparently Otterfur says that the last apprentice who gave me bad bedding has disppeared. A bit too close to the truth, but that's okay!" He mewed.
Blizzardstar let out a second impatient yowl. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather!"
Brackentail shook his head. "Come on, there's a Clan meeting."
((I might start posting in the first person. It's easier to understand thoughts and stuff.))

Cinderkit finished her work and padded up to Autumnpaw. She followed his gaze in curiosity, then looked at him. He seemed distant. She prodded him lightly with her paw. "Are you okay, Autumnpaw? You seem a bit out of it."

Autumpaw blinked and looked down at Cinderkit. He hadn't heard what she'd said so he just nodded. His ears pricked when he heard Blizzardstar's yowl, and he signaled for her to follow him into the clearing.
"Come on, you can sit with me for this meeting." He meowed.

Cinderkit bounded after the apprentice happily. She curled her tiny tail around her paws, sitting down next to him.

Autumnpaw looked down at Cinderkit beside him. He flicked his ears and blinked away a distant vision.
"So, Cinderkit, what kind of apprentice do you want to be? A warrior, or a medicine cat?" He asked.

Gingerpaw skidded out of the medicine cat's den in panic. She was only an apprentice, and being late to a clan meeting would surely get her in trouble. She tried to sneak around the back, but saw the gaze of several other cats meet her and sighed. She sat down and looked up at Blizzardstar, who, thankfully, it seemed, had not noticed her.

Rainstorm sat in the clearing, watching the sky. She was completely oblivious to everything that was going on around her. She was daydreaming again, wondering if she would ever find a mate that would make her happy. Lately she had been feeling so alone.

I pressed myself to Echosong's side when she jumped at Blizzardstar's call for a clan meeting, then I guided her out of the den to go see what Blizzardstar had to say.
Something seemed to have caught Echosong's attention when she got outside with me, and it wasn't Blizzardstar that was in the usual spot for addressing to the clan. I followed her gaze and saw that she had noticed that Rainstorm was all by her lonesome, seeming absent-minded. She nudged me in the direction toward her, "Let's go give her company, she looks so lonely." I nodded and padded with her to Rainstorm.
We padded side-by-side with our tails entertwined, then Echosong took a spot to the right of Rainstorm, while I sat to the right of Echosong,
"Hello, Rainstorm, would you mind if we sit with you for the clan meeting?". . .Will you still care? Will you be there?■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□ ════════════════════════════════════════

((Emilie, I hope you don't mind that I put you in as Waterpaw's mentor!))
Blizzardstar flicked her tail for silence. She didn't want anyone to know that she had already called once before, but had gotten no reaction at all. "Today, Waterkit has reached her sixth moon. LakeClan is in need of apprentices in these harsh times, more than they have ever need before. Waterkit, you shall be known as Waterpaw. You need a mentor, and I can think of no cat better than Echosong. Echosong, you have shown yourself to be a charismatic and sweet cat. I hope that Waterpaw will take on after you and gain your kindness as well." Blizzardstar mewed.
Waterpaw padded up to the Willow Branch proudly. She quietly touched noses with Echosong and smiled up at the older cat. "I'll be sure to make you proud." She promised.
Brackentail looked at the bright look on Waterpaw's face. He quickly took up the chant. "Waterpaw! Waterpaw!"
Silverwing joined her voice to the chant, more proud of her sister, Blizzardstar than Waterpaw. But no one needed to know that.
Nightstripe echoed the call much louder than any other cat, proud of his sister, Blizzardstar.
