Lhia smoothed out the fabric of her skirt as she entered the building. It's mysterious appearance at the edge of her forest hadn't escaped her notice and after spying a number of pae entering in disguise, she decided to attend as well. Although going in disguise meant a trip to that horrible building. Still she had found a lovely costume certain to hide her identity, a gold and purple veil, matching skirt and top, all covered in small metal coins that jangled noisily together as she walked, accompanied by a necklace and bracelet made of bells. She thought the disguise was labeled "bellydancer" though she had no idea what that was.

As she walked into the brightly lit room, a thought occurred to her. No one knew her in the first place.

Reese was incredibly nervous. He wasn't sure why he'd decided to come, normally on Halloween, he'd hide inside and simply wait for the frightening night to pass. The teen was beginning to get tired of being scared though, it wasn't much fun and usually resulted in much teasing (which definitely wasn't fun). So when he heard of a spooky party in a equally scary building that just appeared he decided to go. The costume was another problem though and after much deliberation he decided on a Robin costume, figuring that a super hero costume might give him a little extra courage.

Hey, it couldn't hurt right?

And he rather liked that flashy yellow cape.

As Texas began to calm down, he caught Takeko and Faroth talking to each other. Faroth had been given the 'slip,' whatever that meant (Texas felt old now), but what caught his attention was he and 'the kid.' Wait a minute. The kid? Oh Guardians no. Did Kane have one too? Then it had to be... but that didn't even make sense... the anatomy didn't even match up... of course, the kid had just appeared to Magnus randomly with no real explanation...

Texas' expression had twisted into one of shock and horror, but before Texas could open his mouth to ask any questions, a hand was on his back. A warm hand. Realizing who it had to be since everyone was still in sight, Texas' cheeks turned all sorts of amusing colors again as he mentally cursed his reactions to the odd angel with headwings.

He was not the one who was supposed to be acting like a teenager! His job was to keep it cool and keep it collected while he offered Aysu the 'moral support' she needed. Texas wasn't too good at moral support if he was losing control of his tongue. "faa-faa..." Faafaa?!?! Texas, frustrated with himself, cleared his throat. "Thank you. Right. Choking is probably a bad idea. I wasn't even eating any cheese!"

Laugh it off, Texas. Laugh it off oddly. But he had to admit to himself, perhaps he could benefit from learning from the Aysu School of Charm and Flirtation.

...Watching Texas was too funny. Only embarrassing her poor brother more, Aysu began to snicker at him just as he seemed to begin to calm down again. He glanced at her out of the corners of his eyes and glared mildly, but that didn't stop the laughter that merrily lept from Aysu's lips.

Jazz saw a few people she knew, but not well. This party was slightly boring to her. Maybe that was because she was used to being the hostess. Which meant she normally had to serve and entertain them all. The elder shrugged as she looked around for someone to talk to.

Apollo too was bored. How he had wish he would find Dayht there. Somehow he knew that he wouldn't. He ate some things off the trays and looked around at everyone. They all had such nice costumes. He was fun to see.

The brief expression of horror had been puzzling, but Saffron raised an eyebrow at the odd behavior that followed from the demon. Faafaa? Cheese? What? Between the blushing and the rambling, even poor clueless Saffron was starting to get a good mental picture of what was going on here. Even if it was...more than just a bit weirding him out...

He pulled his hand away, taking a few steps back warily. "Yeah, heh...no cheese then," he muttered awkwardly. This entire situation was growing uncomfortable again, and Aysu's laughing was not helping things. Where did Mom get off to...?

As if sensing the need for her presence, Takeko turned back to the main group, smile back in place and patting the young faun on the shoulder. "Thanks, Faroth. Now, what should we do next? This looks to be quite a party developing here."

The teen shrugged a bit, smiling, clueless of the awkward tension developing within the group. "I dunno about you, but I'm going to check out this party! There's all kinds of stuff here and...hey, are those snacks on that tray? Bye!" He tossed a wave at the group, grinning and trotting after a floating tray of appetizers.

"Guess it's just us adults then," Takeko mused, watching the faun retreat after some snacks.

---

Lacking the faun's speed, it had taken Eudora just a bit longer to reach the mansion and enter. As she crossed into the foyer, her eyes widened, darting from one fascinating object to another, curiosity shining brightly in her cerulean orbs. Her brilliant white gown contrasted starkly with the dark skin of her upper body, bringing out the color in her eyes and hair, even in the odd candlelight.

She practically skipped into the mansion, wings fluttering with excitement as she was far from creeped out by the strange decor...instead, she was absolutely fascinated. How did the paintings seem to move like that? They were always watching, but you never actually saw them move! She'd have to look behind one later to see if someone was back there looking through holes in the canvas or something. She'd have to find something to climb on to reach one first though. And the instruments! Were they playing themselves? They weren't moving though, so maybe...it was like that odd device her new friend had had. The little device that played music through the little bug things! Maybe there was one of those inside each of the instruments...or better yet...musical gnomes!

The thought was forgotten, at least for the moment, as she looked up and saw the odd faun from before, still covered in pine straw, trotting after a floating platter of food. How fascinating! Yes, the faun was amusing, but floating food! Her gaze passed briefly over the small group of Pae Faroth had just left, then cast over the rest of the growing crowd of Pae in the room. Oh, this was going to be such a fun night!

Woobie led Pastela onto the dance floor. "Yes, their homes needed some repair, but we worked together and all is well now." He put his arm around her and started to sway. He smiled and the rest of the party dimmed away as all he had eyes for was Pastela now.

Karma looked around the party. She had felt it was right to come and dress this way. Fate knew she needed to dance. She looked around again hoping to see someone special...She wasn't supposed to hope like this, if Fate wanted him here, he would be.

Cinna stood next to her chosen mate. She was dressed in an all-black Gothic Lolita costume, including a lolly. She shook her head, "To have fun while the babies are being watched." She knew he had many other ideas of fun, but for some reason he let her come here.

Carter smiled as he zipped up the back of alister's costume. " There we are, now don't you look cute." Carter said and chuckled as the little shetani waddled around to look at him. He was wearing what looked like a green footy pajama with a hood that hugged around his head, so that he looked like a giant sun flower, with his face where the fillaments would be.

" How do i look?" Alister asked carter cutely, waving around his arms that looked like giant leaves, seeming quite happy with it. Carter chuckled and nodded. " cutest flower i've ever seen." Carter said and patted the little one's head affectionately before moving to stand from his sitting position on the couch. " No where's Elvis?" He breathed to himself looking around a bit for the little blue fae. Elvis was a bit more independent, and had decided he wanted to get dressed by himself, but now it was time to leave and he hadn't even made a peep...

"Elvis? is everything allright? are you done getting ready?" Carter called out, looking in the direction of elvis' room, but there was no reply. The tall human frowned, seeming a bit worried. " Elv- oh!" Carter gasped and jumped a bit, feeling his bum poked at by something. He quickly turned to see what jabbed him, though he smiled when he saw elvis.

" I got you! i got you!" Elvis laughed triumphantly, jumping excitedly in his ninja outfit. Sera had decided to be a kimono girl and elvis had decided he wanted to match with his best friend for halloween. As a result, Carter had offered Elvis a ninja costume, which he was more than happy with, as long as he could be some how matching with sera. She had become a part of the family quite quickly, carter saw her as a daughter, just as he saw elvis as a son.

" Yes, you got me. My, one day as a ninja and you're already the master at the sneak attack. I must be careful from now on." Carter chuckled and looked at his pocket watch. " allright you two, time to go." He said, looking around for Sera. She was the first to get dressed, ladies first after all.

"Sera, love, time to go." Carter said as he ushered the two boys towards the door. Sera was a good listener, the boys...not so much. If he didn't practically corral them towards the door they'd still be running around doing as they pleased. When Sera walked by Carter smiled. " look how beautiful you look." He complimented, locking the door behind them once everyone was out.

"yeah...you look awful pretty sera." Elvis complimented cutely, like any stubborn little boy would. A compliment that sounded half sarcastic, even if they wholely meant it.
" I like you're hair!" Alister said happily, his little petals waving about with each movement he made. It was quite comical, but the outfit was so him. Bright, cheerful and innocent.

Elvis rolled his eyes, already antsy to go and play, they were taking too long...
"C'mon slow pokes! last one there's a rotten egg!" He said happily, starting to run. He could run rather fast, but he knew Sera would most likely get there first...She could fly and he...well...he was never all that interested in using his wings...

Carter rolled his eyes and picked alister up. Alister was a little clumsy, and he didn't want his to fall and get all muddy and have a fiasco so early in the night, before even getting to the event. The other two were fine, he'd let them have their fun as long as they didn't wander too far ahead, which he reminded them as they ran along.
**************
After running a bit, as predicted, Sera had gotten there first, luckily, Elvis wasn't a sore loser. He came up besides her, noticing her seeming a bit hesitant to go in all by herself and took her hand in a brotherly fashion. Because of his ninja mask she couldn't see his smile, but it was evident with how his eyes sparkled. Elvis looked back, waiting for carter adn elvis to catch up before leading the way inside. He couldn't wait to see what kind of fun stuff they had here! " This is gonna be so cool! He peeped excitedly as he walked in with Sera.

Sera blushed a little more, clinging to her best friend. She really was afraid to go in alone. "Yeah, it will." The female smiled, not noticing the sparkling eyes of the male she clung to.

There were scary things inside, lots of floating trays that seemed to make her giggle. "I wonder whats on those things!" Sera exclaimed once a tray stopped near the two young fae. The female of the two giggled a little, attempting to bring it down to their level.

Seraphim sighed, looking at her. "Do you remember our names?" He asked, public events meant different personalities. He was 'Scott' once more, of course Cinna remained Scott's mate under her own name. Now that they had children though he was seriously reconsidering names on his end, and for the children.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 03, 2009 6:12 pm

Elvis looked around in awe and then went on his tip toes to see if he could take a peek at the tray, but he was still way too short.
"I can't see anything..." He near huffed.

" they're snacks!" Alister said happily, taking advantage of being able to see everything from being up in carter's arms. Carter knew that Alister had parents, so he was a bit more protective of the little shetani. He was just taking care of him for a little.

carter carefully picked a snack for each child so they could munch. He had them eat some sammies before, so that the wouldn't be cranky, or tempted to fill up on sweets.

s**t.

Aysu was laughing at him, Saffron had went from friendly to awkward, and Texas wondered if he could distract from the whole situation by literally shooting himself in the foot. He had already done it figuratively; could it really get much worse? Maybe he should try and prevent it from becoming worse. The demonic shoved the rest of his cheese squares in his mouth, resulting in somewhat puffy cheeks and a rather ridiculous appearance when Takeko chose to look back at them.

The demon swallowed hard, coughing for a different reason this time, before he glanced up at the ceiling. It had been a really long time since he had felt this awkward. Note to self, showing obvious attraction towards someone else was a really bad idea if one was not good at the idea of flirting. Or wasn't Aysu. There had to be better things to talk about than cheese.

Her laughter came to a sudden halt after the several awkward exchanges on all sides. Well, this was pathetic. Texas was usually a calm, social butterfly. She should have been the one having issues with her whole life-changing love-gone-seriously-wrong thing, but instead Texas was staring at the ceiling, Saffron was mumbling about cheese, and Takeko said something about it being just them adults. Great. These were the last adults she wanted to be stuck with right now. Aysu felt like the least awkward person there when she should have felt like the most awkward.

"Are we done with staring at everything else but each other, by chance?" snapped Aysu, who had recently developed a severe lack of patience with anything. "How can we have fun if we're busy pondering the amount of lights in the chandelier? This place may be creepy, but creepy isn't a source of awkward. Guardians!"

Texas just flushed deeper. Now he really felt stupid. "Yes Aysu. Sorry Aysu."

"Good. I thought I would be the awkward one here." Aysu had developed a bit of a blunt streak too, but that may have went with her lack of patience. "Anyone feel like dancing? Been a long time since I danced with someone who wasn't a dumbass."

Sera huffed, not being able to see either. "I don't like being short.." Being with Elvis lately had affected her brain, she kept forgetting that the thin membrane on her back could hold her afloat for a few minutes so she could grab whatever was on the trays for her and the boy she was there with.

It was then that she smiled up at Carter, nibbling on the snack that he had brought down for them. "Thank you!" She smiled, turning her attention to Elvis. It looked like a lot of the grown up pae were dancing, maybe they should try too?

Apollo decided it was too boring just standing there and walked over to the faun that was dressed as a Roman Goddess. Sure she looked like she was having a disagreement with a fae, but heck he was bored. "Good Evening." He told the teen with a nod and smile.

Jazz too gave up on waiting for a hansom stranger to come her way. So, she went over to the angel female Robin Hood. "Nice party, huh?" The elder said before sticking some food into her mouth.

Elvis happily took his snack, thanking carter and nibbling as he looked around, quite entertained with seeing all the other costumes. He really liked this holiday, everyone seems to be having fun playing dress up.

"carterrrr" Alister peeped cutely, wiggling a bit. Once he was set down he smiled and pointed at the dancing. " That looks like fun, i wanna. please?" He asked, looking up at carter, who smiled down at the little shetani.

"allright, lets dance then," Carter said. he was far taller than alister, but he could dance with him like a father would with their little daughter. It was quite a cute scene to see the little pae'il balancing on carter's feet and holding onto his hands as carter slowly moved in a dancing manner so Alister could feel like he was dancing.

Elvis looked over at carter and alister and then at sera, scratching the back of his head a bit in nervous confusion. He didn't know how to dance...but...by the way sera was looking it looked like she kind of wanted to...
"Do you want to try dancing?" He asked shyly. " I don't know how to, but i think we can figure it out..." He added quickly after, so she wouldn't be disapointed at his lack of skill.

She blinked, looking at Elvis in shock. He was a singer not a dancer, not that she knew how to do either herself but even still. The fact that he had asked was really quite shocking. Once it had sunk in, the female blushed, nodding at Elvis. "I don't know how to either.. Lets learn together?" Sera smiled, holding out her hand for him to take.

Pastela felt her heart melt as they began swaying; she was so happy, and everything was suddenly right with the world. Closing her eyes, she rested her head on Woobie's chest, listening to his heart beat. "Perhaps we can build them an underground safety shelter for the next one?"

"I'm not done with you, young lady..." Seth waged his finger sternly at his daughter, then went off to see Karma. Coming up behind her, he gently picked her up by her waist and twirled her around a bit. "Fancy meeting such a beautiful lady like yourself here...."

Ama sighed heavily as her father walked away, then turned around as a voice behind her spoke. Looking at him, she smiled brightly. "Great timing! Quick, lets dance!" Grabbing his hand, she half dragged him into the dance floor, making sure to pick a heavily crowded area. Once she was sure that her father would find her, she gave Apollo a smile. "Sorry about that, I needed to get away from my father's eyes.... I'm Amadorine, but you can call me Ama."

Apollo was surprised by the girl pulling him to dance, but he just went with it. Once she introduced herself the fae smiled. "I'm Apollo. Why do you need to get away from his eyes?" He had to get away from his dad for plenty of reasons...just never ones that were his father's fault. Although, having new sisters was still weighing on his mind. "Nice to meet you Ama."
