I was going to come in here and tell you guys to get it back on topic or I'm locking this down. Unless discussion spawns up again that is really on topic, this is going to be locked and moved to the Archive.

Good bye. smile

Right, back on topic.
Are Valkyries (and other variants.) property of the Navy or Guard?

Valkyries are for the most part Navy property, with a few notable exceptions where the Imperial Guard uses them extensively. Such as the (No surprise here) Elysians and Harakoni. Other regiments such as Cadians, Catachans and whomever else have Valkyries from the Navy pressed into their own ranks, so they may sport "Cadia" and "XX Regiment" decals but they are still Navy property.

Just gotta say this. Props for the RAGE Quit. The Truth it hurts... Now can someone KINDLY explain the difference between the two for me. Aside from the fact one is the blasted vehicles.

Guard fights the wars on the ground and the Navy fights them in the air and in space. Can't cut it any clearer.

What I've been wondering lately, is what kind of Hydrofoils the Imperium produces, I can only imagine how crazy a Warhammer 40k Battleship would look like ಠ_ಠ

There is that Ork Submarine unit isn't there?

Naval ships would likely be covered in guns at all available angles, including heavy artillery mounted in the hull to target anything that might pass underneath. Look at their space craft, pull them down into the atmosphere, and make them buoyant. Voila.

The Gorgon is also amphibious, fulfilling the cravings of anybody desperate to recreate the intro to Saving Private Ryan.

As far as I remember aquatic vessels fall under PDF and not Navy.

In the novel Emperor's Mercy the Ironclad, a legion of traitor Guard uses large submersibles and barges on an oceanic world to assault Imperial bulwarks. They land well outside of the range of orbital weaponry and simply ferry their troops across the oceans.

Putting Cadians in and on a Gorgon shouldn't be too hard. Just take a Cadian, add heavy weapon arms and you've got yourself a Gorgon gunner. Convert a Sentinel pilot and you've got a Gorgon driver.

Gorgons don't really fit into a Cadian army in my opinion, it might be better to paint it in generic regiment colours and just state that the Cadians got several appointed to them by the inkies.
