I can definently see where this would be beneficial
The problem is, the rule requiring two active vice captains to give a promotion is mute, since we only have three (yourself/Yoda, K 19 who's rarely on anymore, and myself).
However, I think it's fair that you should take an NPC role as GM. That way, you can oversee things, without actually affecting the characters hands on. This would allow you to give out the promotions under an unbiasm.

I like the idea to start off from one planet and branch out. This mainly so that the small group of players and the "GMs" could take time to get used to the new roleplay, as well as think about possible new plots and missions for when the time arrives a new planet must be dug up.
Also the rank system is a good one. Having only promotions for (Dark) Jedi who, in second, were rarely allowed to be played, doesn't give much reason to roleplay unless you're more about the story and missions. Therefore, I vote in favor for Seph's new ranking system. (and personally feel like claiming Dark Jedi Initiate =P)

I like the single planet beginning idea since it's a good foundation to the rest of the plot as well as the play. Gets a good starting focal point as well.
The ranking setup is nice too, it should get more people to play non-Jedi roles.

And I have.
Moving back onto the topic, if you want to add a little more depth to promotions, you can have separate paths for the promotions as well. Similar to how there are different paths for the force users. Say someone would rather have control over the off-planet armies rather than ground forces when they rise through the ranks.
Have starting as a pilot an option to the soldiers.
Or for the neutral, a matter of methods, to be righteous or infamous.
Unless you'd rather keep it general and up to the player to decide on specifics.

He did say he would add on to it, if multiple people were for it. I in fact look forward to doing work on it.

Okay, I'm finally back. Sorry about the delay.
I've finished the Ranking Thread, updated with all the Jedi stuff on it. As I've said before, it is only a test model, a prototype, if you will. Therefore, if it looks like there isn't much by the way of Perks, that's because they've been intentionally made that way.
In terms of developing it, the idea of branching out (as suggested) is a great concept. There's definitely room for that, especially within the Jedi aspect, but I'm certain the others can have some made too (Such as Pilot and whatnot).
Of course, talk of development is a bit premature as the prototype does really need to be tested (for some time) in an RP to see how everyone (new and old) reacts and adapts to it.
Thanks for the feedback!

Figure we could use the wait to really take time and put thought into our profiles anyway.

Dark Jedi Assassin with Force Cloak and/or Force Concealment Perks, as a an equal branch to the Dark/Neutral Jedi Knight.
On profiles, I still have the profile I made before the revival. It's a rogue, wanting to become a Dark Jedi. Following her build, she could become an Dark Jedi Assassin. It was approved by EK before, but can I still use that one once the new threads are up?

We'd need a power/perk of equal ability for the Light side however if that were to have any hope of being approved.
Conceal is considered more of a universal power however, albeit more Sith use it to infiltrate Jedi ranks.
To go with what I said earlier about branching, it's an early idea but you could branch Neutral to the paths:
Mercenary - A private soldier to the highest bidder, fights with honor on the battle field. Specialized armies of these warriors have been in every battle to make money or personal glory.
Smuggler - Someone who's in the clandestine shipment of goods or persons to prevent the employer from any unwanted obstacles. The goods shipped are usually highly illegal or banned in some sectors. A great line of work for anyone with a ship and an uncanny ability to remain unseen.
Bounty Hunter - A lot like Mercenaries, but willing to do anything for money, more like a professional killer than a soldier. Bounty hunters are usually lone wolves and in the stronger days of the Empire, some earned a name for themselves as Jedi-killers.
I thought if the Jedi paths had three sides, why shouldn't the others?

No. Just because it was approved then does not mean it will be approved now. @ Razull- I see svereal misconceptions. Not all mercs fight with honor (Headless Horseman ring a bell?). Also, Bounty Hunters don't just kill people. They also capture people and bring them to whoever wants them. Assassins are professional killers.

Bounty Hunters do kill, but they are required by Guild orders to bring proof of the deed; usually a body or token as evidence of the demise. There's often more incentive to bring them back alive, but this is not always true. Heh, I remember in "The Hurt Locker" a group of SAS operatives had a pair of bounties bound and bagged by their truck. When a sniper took shots at them, the bounties ran. Their CO was so set on getting their bounties, he ran out into the open to gun them down.
