Natali smiles and nods. "That river's the reason we started this business. We offered to fix so many wagons that came through, we figured we might as well make a bit of money to go along with our orchard." She picks up a pad and stick of charcoal. "Two wheels...." she draws two wheels on the paper. "Mother usually charges ten couplets a wheel. So...twenty?"
She draws a picture of Tsura on her paper as well as she waits for the woman to find her coins. She can't read or write, but she can leave messages in her own way. As a result, her rendering of Tsura is very good, even though it's a humble charcoal sketch.

Tsura debated bargaining but well this is a young girl before her and she;d horrible at barter with the young becuase she feels for them. That and it feels weird to debate a parents prices with their child. The flattering picture doesn't hurt much either.
A minute later the young woman pulled the required couplets out of a pockets and offered them to the girl. " here you are"

After having some cider and finishing his errand for Mama, Veshengo returned to Penelope's to check up on his wagon. He nodded and smiled at Tsura, then nodded to the child, who he assumed must belong to Penelope. "Do you know if your mum's finished up with my wagon yet?" He made sure to sound gentle, not wanting to come off pushy or in a hurry.

having tied up the horses and offloaded almost everything and everyone from the wagon back at camp Rusting Canvas was really pretty light. very light, yes definitely in comparison to when it was filled with everyone and everything this wagon was much lighter now. oh yes. Zak reminded himself of this as he hauled it along with his shoulders in the harness the horses usually wore. Rana trotted along side with her tail wagging in circles. this certainly was fun isn't it Speckle Guy?
With a final "Hurumph" Zak set the arms of the wagon down on the sawhorse out front and went into the shop with Rana at his heels to see if there was someone there who could take a look at things before they headed out again. tThe excitement back on the river had him worried for what ever they had to do next.

"Thanks, mum," says Natali to Tsura, taking the proffered coins. "Shouldn't be long now."
Next she turns to Veshengo. "Mm..." she peeks out back to Penelope's workshop. "Looks like she's right about finished, sir. If you wanted to wait around she'll pull it 'round front."
Once she has these two dealt with, Natali goes outside to the short young man. "Hello...some trouble with your wagon?" she asks.

"Ah, thanks very much." Veshengo nodded and then crossed his arms, leaning back against the building to wait for Penelope. He was glad he'd be able to properly thank her for the work.

"Ah yes," said Zak as he rolled out his shoulders "We hit some rocks crossing the river and I uh, I don't like the sounds it's been making" he walked over the the wheels and pointed "here, here and here" "I'd fix it myself but I don't have the tools and, far as I know, neither does anyone else in the caravan I'm with"

Penelope drags Veshengo's wagon out front. "Here y'are then," she says. "Good as new. Best o' luck on your travels, friend."
She moves over to where Natali is talking with Zak. "Busted wheels," she says, hands on her hips. "That river is nasty to wagon wheels."

Veshengo smiled and patted his hand against Balormengro, "Good to have it all in one piece again...Thank you!" He saluted slightly to Penelope and then hopped into the seat, clicking his tongue at Skellick and flicking the reins. In a second, he was headed off down the road.

Zak made a backwards whistling sound through his teeth while wincing. "oof"he said Rana went over to the small human and sniffed her gently, are you a nice small human? she thought, I may still be on the look out for bandits you know, and I hear they can often be small. it is important to be vigilant you know.
"Sounds expensive. Do you uh, do you have a wheelwright in town or am I at the right place to get this fixed? an' how much is this going to cost? I know the folk I've been traveling with don't have a reputation for settling debts but" he shrugged "I'll pay in labor or with what bit of cash I've got" it was never fair to run out on people trying to make an honest living, especially for the benefit of gypsies making what was decidedly a dishonest one.

Penelope walks over to the young man talking to Natali and nods. "Aye, I'm the wheelwright, cartwright, and whatever other kind of wright I'm needed for." She takes a look at his wagon. "Not bad. I can replace the wheel for, say, fifteen couplets?"
Natali, since her mother had come over to do business, delightedly scritches the huge dog's head. She'd never seen a dog so large!
