((You're acting like it's completely his fault. It's not, not really. He's just staying in character. If you wanted to, you could just take it to the PMs(geez, that sounds wrong, even to me), and in-RP, we'd skip foreward. You know, like a 'omg whut happund?' thing.))

Hana led Akihiko down the stairs to the first floor and through the corridors. All the Gailor soldiers they met were killed by the power of Hana's chi blasts.
Akihiko watched in wonder as Hana killed soldier after soldier on their way out. No wonder General Daichi told her to protect me, he thought. As they ran past a small room, Akihiko broke away from Hana and ran into it.
"Your Highness! Where-?" Hana started to ask and followed.
With his uninjured arm, Akihiko pulled up one of the tiles, using the sword Bjorn had given him as a lever. Under the tile was a small, dark passage. Akihiko looked at Hana's surprised look and managed a weak smile that soon disappeared. "The original builders of this castle made this as an escape route for the royalty in case of an emergency. It's only known to the Faren royal family, so we can use it to escape."
Hana looked at Akihiko with admiration. "That's a good idea," she said. She grabbed a small candle from the room and lit it while Akihiko dropped down into the whole. Hana followed, closing the hidden exit as she did so. The path was narrow, so they had to go single file. They hurried down the path and eventually came to a set of stairs leading up. Akihiko walked up them and pushed at the ceiling above them. It moved, revealing the sky. Hana blew the candle out and set it on the ground. They wouldn't be needing it anymore. The two climbed out of the secret path and found themselves outside the city, by an oddly shaped rock. It looked like a bear.
Akihiko and Hana ran away from the town and up the hill that overlooked the town. Once they reached the top of the hill, Akihiko turned to look back at the castle and town. Now that they were safe, he sank to his knees, tears welling up in his eyes. "I am...all alone...Everyone's gone...Mother...Father...Alice..." Tears were now rolling down his cheeks. "This...this can't be real...Please tell me this isn't real..."
Hana walked over to Akihiko and sat on her knees next to him. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and pulled him closer to herself so that he was crying into her shoulder like how a mother would comfort her child when he had a nightmare. "Your Highness..."
"Why? Why did this have to happen?" Akihiko sobbed.

((Whew...Just one more post before I'm done.))

((I'm just gonna finish up now. That way I don't keep it in the past too long.))

"Prince Akihiko...They all sacrificed their lives for you so that you may live. You are the hope of Faren. They all knew that any hope of Faren ever being restored would die with you. You understand that, right?" Hana asked.
Akihiko nodded. He knew she was right. He broke away from her and stood up. He looked at his home of fifteen years. This was going be the last time he saw it for a while.
"Gailor...You took from me my family and kingdom...But I promise you...I will return...And when I do, your life is mine," he said, as if Gailor was standing right in front of him.

Bjorn looked over at the elf. "If he listened and obeyed, not far and utterly hidden, completely safe." he said. It was true: the prince had a hiding spot he used when playing with his sister that could keep him concealed for hours at a time. Even Bjorn had trouble finding him.
Something told him he hadn't obeyed, though. He looked over to Gailor.
"This will not last. I will find you, with the prince at my side, and you will not survive." he said, before uttering one of the most vicious curses he knew in his native tongue. He held the sword at a strange angle so that it was flat against his back, and turned to leave the throne room, in an attempt to find the prince.

[And yes, as someone said, I was staying in character. Bjorn saw Gailor there and figured he could end it then and there. Also, he's not omniscient: he has no idea of the prince's plight. Sorry if I go slowly, but I don't want to suddenly have my character bolt out of the throne room on a whim and find the prince in danger. There's suspension of disbelief, and then there's deus ex machina.]

Kai turned to run after Bjorn, as he started to run down one of the many hallways. He turned around once, mumbled a phrase in an unknown tongue, pointing his closed fan at the ground. Slowly he lifted his fan, and then the earth where he was pointing started to rise. It rose higher and higher and then it made contact with the arch of doorway. A wall of stones was formed, effectively hindering any chance of pursuit.

Kai, satisfied with his work proceeded to follow Bjorn in search of the Prince.

"Bjorn, where do you think our dear Prince might be hiding?" he mused. "Running around aimlessly in a castle infested with Gailor's men doesn't sound appealing to me."

[Just saying what I saw. Also, writer's block. Finally, Zslone2, it's spelt "Coup d'etat" (I'm French, and it's a French word), meaning "Strike of State", or literally, "Striking the state", the state being the leader ^^]
